Happy, happy Monday and the first full week of February. I hope that everyone had a great weekend and is excited to start the week.

My day wasn't too bad yesterday, yay! I was cold which makes me cranky but I was able to stay bundled up for the most part. I was really happy that I scrapped a page using Ona's Layer Mask Technique challenge. it is one of Kibs and it helped heal my heart a bit working with a photo of her. I did all 4 techniques on the same photo so I had to look at it again and again. It might sound crazy, but it really helped me a lot.

Gary wasn't crazy about Altered Carbon. He said that it was too graphic for no reason. There was a *lot* of nudity which was distracting to me too so I was just as happy to move on. We watched an episode of Alias Grace which seems kind of interesting. It is another Margaret Atwood series although this book I haven't read (yet).

I am always looking for recommendations on Netflix if you have them.

I got my DNA results today. I am 70% Southern Italian which was not much of a surprise at all. Some Caucuses, and a bit of Middle East/Northern Africa. I wish I knew what I was doing looking at all of the info but it is fun to see how things fit. ;)

Off to food shop this morning and then I have to clean the house a bit. Something in the kitchen smells and I can't tell if something went bad or it is only the garbage can.

Wishing you all a very happy day! ::grouphug

Felis- Hope that you are feeling better each day. I am really jealous of your Spring weather. Food shopping exhausts me too!

Nancy- Super job with the Devils! It was so cold here, and we ended up having some snow. It didn't stick to the roads, but added another layer to my icy lawn.

How nice to hear that so many of us were able to sleep in yesterday.

Trudy- Little things make me happy too. Gary soaked the shower head from my bath in vinegar the other day and it made such a difference in the pressure. I was beyond thrilled. :)
Losing 40 lbs is freaking amazing!

Jean- I wish you lived closer, I would love to come over and have you explain these DNA results to me. One day teleportation will be real and I am gonna love it!!

Rae- did your hubs have any luck with the USB stick? I hate when my Gary gets angry and yells at whatever. brings back a lot of bad memories when he first got sick but thank goodness it isn't like that anymore. Hope that he got it working.

Felis- pumpkin cream soup is sooooo yummy! I also make the same basic soup with butternut squash and homemade croutons from stale bread. The yellow and white ice looks ridiculous so I am happy it made you smile. Only pet owners will appreciate that!
I am in shock at how it is acceptable in your country to move and leave a dog outside and hope for the best. That is horrible. And heartbreaking.I thought that it was bad that in the South part of the USA they have easier laws to euthanize dogs which is why so many rescue organizations in the north, where I live, transport them up here where there are many no-kill shelters. But for people to move and leave them... I simply have no words.
I adore how Biggie tells you stories. We try to figure out what life was like for our dogs before we got them. Harley was a stray and was 6 month when we got her from the shelter. Ray was a rescue from the south and she was also 6 months. J was a foster pup so she was most likely from an unwanted litter. W was also a stray and was 7 months when we got her. So all of them (maybe not J as much) have stories to tell too.
You should scrap Biggie's tales. That would be a great page!

Ugh and blergh. I have to get ready to go food shopping now. I don't want to. :pout:
xoxoxo!

good morning - the clouds have cleared and it is windy and cold. My DH has had Luther out and he said it was so icy. It started out wet but as they walked it got colder and really icy. So now Luther is asleep so lets him sleep. Yesterday he has a great walk and then the boys took him out to play run and fetch. They said he is getting better at that. But mostly yesterday was sports. Early in the day was hockey. I do love the Vegas Golden Knights. They defeated the Washington Capitals which is good for my team. Yea! Then of course I watched the Super Bowl. I love offense and this game had lots of great plays and fun trick plays and best of all the Patriots lost. It seemed the Philly defense was never going to stop Brady as they had not stopped them all game so this was Brady chance to come from behind again and win. But then the defense did its thing and recovered the fumble and then the field goal. Then since I was up anyway watched this is us. It was excellent! The actors as kids are equal to the actors as adults, it was really good. No one wanted to cook so we ordered in India food. It is so good. And have plenty of left overs. Today is chores and chores LOL.

Chris that is interesting about Altered Carbon. Did not realize there would be that much nudity. There must be something to watch with all the channels LOL. Sometimes I think there is just too much to watch. Well your DNA results are pretty much as you expected. It will be interesting to see your parents and kids and see how much has been passed on. Good luck at store.

Trudy yes I have been watching how well those Bruins are doing. They are awesome. It is just so amazing how well Keto has done for you. Keep it up!

Rae so glad you figured out which sweetener makes you feel bad. You have so changed your health. It is so inspiring. My son ordered us an internet extender as we had plaster/lathe walls that block a lot and so reception in the kitchen is a bit spotty. Well of course we needed some other cable so he could not put it together. He said he would order the cables but of course forgot so not sure this is ever going to happen. So it was me yelling at him instead of him yelling at it not working. At least though this is stuff he knows so I am pretty safe with him doing this.

Jean glad that you did not have too bad of weather. Having the dinner in the crock pot is the way to go.

Felis love the story of Biggie. And Chris is correct you should do a page! You have a great way with words.

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone... I am up early with DH, just could not sleep any longer. how can I have such a great sleep one night and then such a crappy one the next??? Oh well, no sense trying to make sense of it all LOL. Poor DH has a very sore throat this morning, he says it started hurting last night before he went to bed and it woke him up at 1:30am very hard to swallow, sure hope its not strep throat!! He is going to try going to work and will see how his morning goes. He should just go back to bed, but no he will go to work and spread his germs to everyone there grrrrr!!!! MEN!!
Yesterday I got started on a page and got about half way done, the rest of my day was spent trying to upgrade the firmware on our Android Box for the tv. Ugh I hate it when things don't work properly. Of course it is supposed to be easy to do, but nothing ever goes smoothly for me :becky: So needless to say my day of scrapping went out the window. The only other thing that I got accomplished yesterday was to take the excersaucer to the consignment store that I got it from. Hunter enjoyed using it while he was here, but no other babies are planned as far as I know, so no need to have it hanging around here taking up space. Hopefully some other little cutie will have fun with it!

Chris - How fun to have your DNA results! My sisters have had theirs done and I really want to get mine done also. They are both a bit different from one another and they have had lots of fun sharing the results with other relatives on Ancestry.ca you can do quite a bit with just the free version of it. Of course you would be able to track down a lot more info with the paid version of it. Happy for you that your shower head has more pressure for you, yes it is the small things in life that make us the happiest! I really want to try Ona's Creative Technique Challenge, but I need to finish off my layout for Diane's Word challenge, hope to have it done this morning sometime.

Nancy - Yikes on the icy walk for your DH and Luther! Good thing no one slipped and fell! Hope the temps warm up soon! Yes it was a great football game lots of great plays and the right team won! Wasn't "this is Us" fun to watch! I do love the actors/actresses they are all amazing! I PVR'd the show so I might just watch it again LOL.

Jean - Good idea to have dinner in the crock pot while Football is on the TV! I hope that you enjoyed your quiet day! We would all love to come and visit you and have you help us all out with our genealogy questions!

Rae - I feel your D's pain! I was doing some cursing of my own trying to upgrade our Android box, trying again at some point today Ugh!! My son has the google home mini and I had lots of fun with it while I was watching the kids, but my son thinks it is the cause of his issues that he has been having with his Kodi not working very well anymore. He is not so sure that he will continue to use it. :noidea: Hope your day today is not too filled with work and that you get some time to yourself!

Felis - Love your Biggie story! So sweet and so nice that he is yours now and such a lucky dog!! Yes the Lancombe Blush is makeup and I spend too much on it LOL. But it does last me a long time, so I don't really have to purchase it too often. I will have to look into the company you mentioned, perhaps it is a better option for me. How nice that you get makeup gifts from your Aunt! Hope that some day you will have online grocery shopping so you don't have to make the long trip to the Capitol so often! Sometimes we travel quite a long way to go to Costco, but try not to go too often and usually only when the weather is good.

Well I better get another cup of coffee and get this page done this morning. Hope to get caught up with commenting in the gallery too. I have an appt. to get to at 10am with a hand therapist. I have some annoying little nodules on my finger not sure what they are called, but it is a form of arthritis I guess and they are going to put a splint on my finger and show me how to not overextend my finger which is apparently why I get these things. The last time I had one on my pinky finger they removed it with surgery, but the dr. doesn't want to do this one for some reason. Anyway I will see what this therapist says :mmph: Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. D watched the game yesterday and I watched the halftime entertainment (JT was excellent IMO) and then of course we watched This Is Us which had me crying a few times. I think D was even tearing up a bit once (not that he would admit it LOL). Had a good visit with Jen. We'll all go up on Saturday to attend some more seminars and visit with Bailey. Maybe the next wkend B will come here for an overnight stay. I'm almost done my book (read it during commercials last night). I'm going to finish that one up today and then can start the final book "Iron Gold" (#4 in the Red Rising Series). Great reading material this year so far.

D is home today. He's starting to take holidays. Last year he took many Fridays off but this year he is taking Mondays off as I get no paid holidays and don't take time off so he uses up some of his 7 wks by extending wkends into long wkends. He still takes a few wks in the summer and at Xmas time too. Lucky guy. My clients almost never book their days off too far in advance so I never know when I get time off with no work coming in (also, unfortunately, no money either). So D and I can't book time off together b/c his have to be booked in January for the year. Oh well, in a few yrs we'll both be retired and it won't matter at that point :)

Chris - hope food shopping goes ok for you today. We haven't seen AC yet but will check it out soon and see how we like it. There's enough on right now that I'm not desperate for new shows. I'm still trying to clear up the PVR with everything I've recorded. I was thinking of you yesterday as Taz and I were in the pet store. They had tons of little mice and Taz was of course so fascinated. The girl was cleaning the container, taking out all the straw stuffing and putting it into a garbage can for disposal. Taz jumped right into it, burying his head in the bucket and snorting. We were both laughing so hard we couldn't stand it LOL.

Trudy - good luck with the android box. D has been able to update a few things but generally screws it up so we have to bring it to our guy. Luckily he isn't too far away. Good luck with your finger. Hope it isn't too painful.

Felis - I agree with Chris. You should make a LO about the stories.

Jean - you did a crockpot dinner for easy dinner prep and I did a one-pan meat/veggie bake for easy dinner prep. I never cook a big meal on game day b/c I know D eats too much junk and is never really hungry for dinner.

I'd better get to work. I've got a really busy work day (probably tomorrow too). Have a great day everyone.

Sunny but cold today so looks nice anyway. DH as usual had good time at Hum & Strum and while he was gone I started the bill stuff. Now doing laundry, not usual for Monday here. I just learned my library acquired a mascot, an African pygmy hedgehog. As they're nocturnal, I didn't see it yesterday, but supposedly there's a web cam of it. It's not working for me though. At the store I saw toy hedgehogs in Valentine's displays. Guess they are a big thing right now.

Felis, like everyone else, I love Biggie's stories and hope you'll save them in a LO. or more than one. Can't quite imagine having about an hour drive to the grocery store. We use one about two blocks away. Some rural places here I guess that would be normal. Wishing you a good week!

Chris, your page with the picture of Kibs is so beautiful and the masking is just right. Wonderful that doing that helped. Good thing your DNA ethnicity came back with reasonable results. A lot of people are doing DNA with the various companies just for the ethnicity which is the least reliable part of what you get back. There are many articles about really crazy results but they are only as good as the comparison populations are a real reflection of historic DNA and the way the company interprets things. The best part is seeing your matches and figuring them out. At least for a genealogist! As to teleportation, if someone were to teach me to Skype, there is that route. (Although I'm sleeping a large portion of the time you're up )

Nancy, we saw Vegas playing recently but for a long time had no idea who VGK might be. Still have a hard time remembering NHL teams are in some very unlikely places, at least historically unlikely. How nice they beat the Caps.

Have a phone call so have to come back in a bit.

Good morning girls,
Monday was just a run and rush and I'm afraid that the whole week will be. What I start in second week of January, all projects are still staing just in the beginning and this week I have to add new, so all is too much. I really try to ''do more'', but I think it will be good point at first to learn how to organise my time better.

Chris, I saw the layout and it's beautiful and so gently! Again I'm so sorry for your loss!
Hmm, here traditionally the dogs lives at yards, so people don't take it like a big deal to left them live alone outside. If wasn't the human violence on them they will be just fine, but no, it's unfair world and create only pain! I also was wondering what is been previous life of Whisky and from where comes her little eccentricities?! Most are really funny :dogwalk: . Which reminds me that every time when I listen this Maroon 5's song I think for your family. I saw also the LO with all lovely pets you have and just adore it! But where are the snakes? I hope soon to find time to come and comment in the gallery!

Nancy, how sweet, you had the sports day for Luther and on TV :) . I can wait this mud to gone so to can be more active again, it's not fun to play with muddy kids! Thank you for the compliment! I wish I was more skilful at the English! My language have a different logic of composition on metaphors, and that takes off much of the power of expression when I translated my thoughts.

Trudy, I'm exactly like you with the sleep: such a great sleep some nights and then such a crappy one the next. Oh, so bad about your fingers! Is it much painful?! I hope not! But I'm hear that arthritis is very painful and react much to the wet at the weather. I hope your husband also is feel better and that you will not catch this cold from him!

Rae, so great that your husband can make his weekends longer! I'm always impressed by the many things that you do at same time! To watch and read during commercials without to mess up all stories is sooo good skill! Aww, such a cute story about the pet shop! I wouldn't be surprised if you finished with some mice pet or at least hamster.

Jean, this African pygmy hedgehog must be so cute! But still it is a little sad to live alone and in captivity. I hope it's not just a new trend and they really will care for him appropriately!
Oh, I'm not been clear about that, we do have local store on 10 minutes walk away from my home, but we travel to the Capitol to shop at the hipermarkets. The local stores keeps fixed prices, instead of hypermarkets when we get weekly deals and sales, have also big packs pet's products, which saves me money. And also foods from brands which are vegan, or with less sugar and salt, without gluten and ect. , specific brands which not delivery in other places.
