Happy Monday!

Did everyone have a good weekend? Mine was boring as all get out. I couldn't seem to get my head into anything. I couldn't scrap, crochet, read. I cleaned a bit, clipped coupons and organized my shopping list. I tried to scrap but shut that down quickly. I couldn't get into it and gave myself a headache from it.
I was going to make the dogs some more treats but we didn't have any sweet potatoes. Then I remembered that Cait has been asking me to find a recipe to make homemade pretzels. I found an Auntie Anne's (mall pretzel stand) copycat recipe to make in the bread machine. They came out *really* good. Everyone wants me to make them again-- soon. Next time, I will roll them thinner and use all of the butter to "baste" them and top them with more salt.

And yes, dear friends, that was the highlight of my weekend. :eek:hwell: :p

I am off to the podiatrist this morning and then I am going to visit my mom who lives 5 minutes from the office. Wish me luck that I don't blow away-- the wind is really gusting!!
*insert me whining about wanting Spring* It is that time of year when I get very antsy for it.

Have a super day!

Kay- did you debate yourself when you were forcing yourself to get out of bed? I try to bribe myself with coffee. "get up lazy bones and you have coffee waiting for you in the kitchen." Sometimes it works, other times I give more of a fight. ha!
That is great that you finished many of the caps, but not good about what it did to your back. Hope that the back and foot are both 100% today.

Trudy- did you get the spindles done?? I bet you are dancing with joy!!
I am worried about Nancy too. I hope that she didn't hurt her knee.
That is weird that you haven't heard from your ILs in 2 weeks. I can't go more than 2 days w/o talking to my mom.

Jean- same here, the wind has been howling since yesterday. I hope that the spring training games make you feel like Spring is getting closer.

No Oscars for me, but I hope that those of you who watched enjoyed it!

good morning - It has been awhile and I am sorry. I was mad and frustrated and maybe even a bit depressed with my knee. I hate sleeping on my back and finally the doctor says I can sleep on my side and OMgosh what a difference that has made. I hated the pain meds tramadol and the doctor's nurse said well if I don't need it I don't have to take it. Yea! The swelling has gone down so much. So finally I am seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. I am walking much better with out the cane even. The pt has been great as they push but they are listening to me when I say enough. Tuesday will just be 5 weeks post surgery so maybe my expectations were too high. But I am feeling much better. I have been reading and watching TV and hockey games. Perhaps that too is causing me to be upset as I have not been able to go. But I am back to my happy self again. But still hate being stuck and not being able to drive. We are having a huge wind storm. Gusts up to 60 mph. I hate wind but at least no rain or snow.

Chris those pretzels sounds so yummy! I have seen the LOs of the rats and sure are cute. Good luck at the podiatrist. Hope the surgery will be easy.

Trudy those paintings and the kids in the bath are too cute. Hope the staircase is done. Glad you are swimming. I think we all need spring.

Rae glad that scrapping is helping. How interesting that B loves the stories of the rats. Love seeing Taz running and playing in the snow.

Kay that is the pits about the turning your ankle. Staying in PJs and reading is awesome!

Jean so sorry to hear about being in the hospital. Glad you are out. My sister says that they weather in AZ has been cold and the spring training games not as much fun as in other years. But it sure is nice to see baseball scores.

Felis cant wait for spring! Did your mom get the job? I probably missed the answer.

Have a great day all!

Morning everyone! The sun is shining and it is pretty chilly this morning, but no :smow: so it will be a good day! I should be dancing for joy and telling you that the staircase and banisters are all done, but sadly I still have some staining to do :mmph: The very bottom of the last set of railings needs three coats of stain and I can do the one side myself today. However the other side needs the big extension ladder and I simply can't even move that ladder myself. So DH says he will get it in place for me one day during the week for me to complete that side. He did help me all weekend to get the last of the spindles primed and two coats of white paint on them. Poor guy his back and knees were killing him afterwards so I did not dare ask him to stain the bottom. It looks so good and I am so happy with the results!

Chris - I had the same feeling with my scrapping yesterday :mmph: opened it up stared at the page and then closed it. Maybe today?? I have all day to myself and other than staining, not much else to do, so I really wish I could finish this darn page!! Your pretzels sound like they were very good! I hope that your visit to the podiatrist goes well and that you get in a nice visit with your Mother! I will call my MIL today to see if they are still alive LOL.

Nancy -:hello: How nice to see you posting here! I think we were all starting to worry that perhaps something terrible had happened with your knee!! Sorry that you have been down in the dumps lately!! It must be hard to not be able to get to your games and be the independent woman that you were before your knee replacement! I am so happy that things are better now and that you no longer need the cane! I see that your Devils have lost Keith Kinkaid to the Blue Jackets, hope you are not too upset by that trade!

Jean - Must be the weather that is making us all feel blah!! Hope that you are in a happier mood today and that you enjoyed listening to your spring training ball game! Seems like we were all worried a bit about Nancy, happy that she is ok and back with us  I hope that you get some sunshine today and that the wind has stopped blowing so much! My son txt me yesterday to say he arrived in Ottawa safely (on a course there until the end of the month) he said the wind blew him all the way there :mmph: but at least he missed the big storm that was headed their way with more snow.

Well I suppose I should grab a coffee and get to work on a few things before Heather and Hunter call. I think that my paints are calling to me, so I will have to try to do some painting today! Have a wonderful Monday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Had a great wkend with Jen staying over. We watched Vice and then the new season of Luther. Both were great. Vice is a docu-drama and not very exciting but the acting is great and we all enjoyed it. Yesterday, we visited with Jen all morning and then spent the afternoon with B. Then came home to watch the pre-show and the Oscars. I really enjoyed it. Started my 52 Inspirations challenge page too so can finish that off today. This week is back to usual work-wise with both clients full time but I'm starting off the week with no backlog so that should help a bit.

Chris - B loved the latest rat page you did and I told her the story about the asparagus. She was enthralled and was giggling about it. Is today's visit to discuss a surgery date? Have a good visit with your mom afterwards.

Nancy - so glad to hear from you. Not surprised you've been frustrated and down in the dumps, I bet that is pretty common as you get further along in your recovery but not quite recovered yet. I think its good to let out the frustration, the feelings, and then you can push forward again and keep moving along. Before you know it, the weather will be warm and sunny and you'll be out there strolling along (and driving too). Hope you are able to get to one of your games soon, I can only imagine how much you are missing that.

Trudy - sounds like the painting/staining is close to completion. What a big project that has been. Enjoy the FT with the kids and painting today.

I'm going to get to work now but hopefully will get a bit of scrapping done throughout the day. Have a great day, everyone!

Hello girls,
the Oscars was awesome. If I gave the prizes I would choose the same people. I'm pretty sure I was the first who left compliment to Olivia Colman on Instagram when she won. What a lovely speech she had and lady Gaga too. Actually only lady Gaga's movie was for wide audience. The others movies are interesting, yes, but treats problems which aren't actual here.
I'm so proud for myself, because didn't fall asleep even for while. Oscars night start here in 11pm with special studio where local celebrities commenting the movies and give us little teasers, so to know for what is about every movie, because most people are watch one or two, but not all. Then is the red carpet. Very disappointing this year, because after all talking for no discrimination the biggest stars just didn't stopped to talk with european journalists. Our reporter was able to talk only with three actors and not for more than 5 seconds. So we have forced to use ABC interviews again :( . I saw some girls to tell in another ONE topic, that they don't want to have commercials, but this actually was the funnest part for me, because gives me time to like and comment on Instagram. Fashion don't impress me much this year. The best in my opinion was Helen Mirren and Danai Gurira. I loved JLo and Emma Stone's futuristic dress, both so beautiful!
Many disappointment, including my favorite Gemma Chan. I expected she to be presenter or so, but nothing. Did someone know why she was on Oscars?! I hope is not just because they want more asian. She is so talented will be shame to become famous only with the fact that is beautiful asian woman. Oh and did you saw Regina King's dress?! I like her as actress and person, but as a style, her mom was better dressed without to expect Oscar. I bet everyone of us is make dress like hers from the bed sheet when you want to play it sexy at morning.

Chris, good luck with the podiatrist! I'm not surprised you can't concentrate with all these worries.

Nancy, your expectations are too high with sure. We all was amazed how fast you bring back your shape. But honestly I'm worried that you rush too much and can to overload yourself. Please be careful, have a little patience!
Thank you for ask about my mom, this is so sweet. She is on third (and last) level of the employment procedure, they will text her for the summer to cover when someone is sick or on vacation, and if they liked her will get permanent appointment. The test period is paid, so she is very pleased. She like as her co-worker that the children too. So we will see, please cross your fingers! It's really nice to can walk to work and not to have wait for someone to drive you (she don't have drive license), as you are seen now. Her first choice was hospital, but there have night night shifts and work on holidays, so the children day care is better for our the family life ;) !

Trudy, yes, the little details on a final always takes more time. But you will be so satisfied on a final, so better slowly but precise. Have a fun chatting with your child! I'm so happy that you are send me your snow ;) , here is very good accepted. Maybe this week will be able to do your hike?!

Waving to the others and have a lovely week you all!
I was awake whole night so today got a free day, but mostly napping.:ranger:
