It is a gooooOd day!!!! The sun is shining already, it is going to get to near 50* and... I get to see Christopher today!
He doesn't have school for President's day so my brother is working from home. He invited my parents and me to come down for lunch and to play with my dude while he has to work. I think I might have insulted my brother a tiny bit when he told me that he does get to take an hour for lunch but to not mind him when he has to work and ignore us. I told him that I wasn't coming down to see him. LOL
He gets it, right?

So I got to test drive my dad's CRV and dang, it is *nice.* It is 2012 with lots of bells and whistles. Backup camera, Bluetooth, Economy mode for gas consumption. It gets almost 30 mpg. I tried to use the backup camera getting into my driveway, first time I had ever done that and whoa, it is *weird.* I parked like I was blind and drunk. :pound:

I also made a really yummy dinner last night. I used the broccoli rabe with pasta and lots of garlic and olive oil. Kids said that they liked it too soI will add that to the rotation when broccoli rabe is on sale.

I also got a call from the woman I clean for asking me to teach the Girl Scout troop how to make bath bombs or soap or something like that. I will write some ideas and costs up for her before I leave today.
I also need to get my blood drawn- keep your fingers crossed that my Rheum Factor goes down.

Hope all of you have a really wonderful day!

PS: Can you tell that my pain levels are down from over the weekend? Don't I sound much more optimistic? (Less cranky is a more accurate way of putting it.):D

Everyone was quiet in here yesterday and I hope it wasn't because I scared you off with my crankiness. Probably all of you were out enjoying the weekend :)

Rae- I hope that your DD feels better and more settled quickly. This morning J did the same thing with Floyd, pouncing and puppy bows while the entire time Floyd is hissing at her.
Hopefully, Beckham will keep Taz occupied and you can caught up on all of your work.

Love and hugs to all!

I spent yesterday on the couch. My bottom was still hurting from falling, so I layed on the couch and I "babysat" DD lol. She had a stomach virus and her hubby wanted to go out with friends, so I took care of her...chicken soup, gatorade and TV watching.

I am still sore. I was going to do some housework and bent down to get the laundry and I thought I was going to scream, the pain just shot through my body. Taking it easy again.

Chris- Hope you Rheum Factor goes down

Morning O-zies... my weekend with the grands was a bit of a frenzy. Daughter-In-Law Jackie phoned and said that plans had to change and that the kids would have to come a bit earlier than first thought. While she was visiting with her Grandmother they got a call saying that her Uncle (her mothers brother) was in his dying hours and was in the hospital in Prince George. So Jackie had to quickly get her grandmother to Victoria to catch a flight up there. Poor woman is in her 80's and does not travel well in the first place, she has some anxiety issues and Jackie was very upset for her Grandmother. Anyway the kids arrived in time for supper and they said good-bye to their mom and we had a fun night with them. Jackie did not make it back until well after 11pm and we talked for a bit and then off to bed. The next morning we spent a nice time at breakfast together then headed downtown to the toy store where the kids gave me lots of ideas for their upcoming birthdays. I got them a small gift each (lego mini batman) and they were happy to spend almost 1 1/2 hours just looking at all the great toys and just enjoying the great store. The Red Balloon toy store is a great shop and has a lot of very unique kinds of toys for the kids, people come from all over to visit it. Sadly right after lunch they had to get packed up and head home again. A short but very nice visit with them. Yesterday afternoon was spent getting my house back to normal again LOL they are like a tornado when they arrive here :becky:

Chris - How great that you get to spend time with Christopher today! He will love to see you all I am sure! I bet he is growing like a bad weed!! Why can't they stay little?? That is wonderful that you have been asked to share your knowledge on making soaps etc. Maybe you will get some new clients out of the deal. Your Dad's CRV is a bit more new than mine, but I just love my CRV!! No back up camera or anything fancy in mine, but it is so fun to drive and gets great mileage! I love the sporty look with the roof rack and the running boards on mine!

Sharon - Ouch you bottom sounds like it is very bruised!! Hope it isn't anything more than that! Nice of you to care for your sick DD too! Hope that you are feeling better very soon!

Nancy - I bet you and Luther are enjoying a nice President's day with your Hubby and Son! Hope your weekend was a great one too!

Rae - I really hope that your DD is settling in nicely and that the poor cat won't give Taz too much trouble! Nice to have a full house, you will be one very busy lady I am sure!

Ok I better get my day going and get some breakfast in my stomach, hoping to talk to DD today and find out how her Sunday was. They were supposed to go on a date night for her birthday, so anxious to find out what they did and where they went. Have a wonderful Monday everyone

good morning - yesterday was so fun. It did not start that way. My DH and I decided for my birthday to go to my favorite birding spot and then eat at a really good restaurant. Well OMgosh I now know where my son gets his slow genes. We were to leave by 7:30 but did not leave until 9am. I got the dog walked and was just getting angry. I almost did not go but decided why punish myself. Well the drive was easy. I love that the wild life refuge is open again. The weather was so nice. And OMgosh I got to see the best birds. We think we saw tundra swans but so far way while it looked like black bills mostly we have mute swans. But mostly I was just hoping for lots of snow geese. Well they were there. We drove and I saw a raptor sitting where osprey usually sit but it did not look right. Got out the binocs and sure enough a solid white head - a bald eagle. We had awesome views. Finally he took off and at that point he scared up all the snow geese. To see them all fly in the sun with white bodies and black wing tips - they sparkle. It was so cool! We saw so many great birds. I was so happy. We did not eat at that restaurant as the wait was an hour but found a Chinese place and wow the food was great! Came home and yuck my Devils back up goalie let in 6 goals while the Islanders back up only let in 4. So we won on Sat and they won on Sun night so no gain for the Devils. But I did get to watch a lot of hockey! Today is a laid back day as its is a holiday. My DH is home but my son had to work as they are doing printer work while most clients are home. But he did not have to be in until 11:30 am.

Chris glad that you are feeling so much better. Have a great time with your brother and family! My DH is complaining that Luther is not a good watch dog. If Luther is asleep and you come in he keeps sleeping. Too funny. But if a squirrel or cat came he would wake so fast! Dogs are the best.

Sharon so sorry you are still in pain! That is just not fun! How nice to take care of your daughter! Hope she feels better soon.

Rae hope to hear that the dogs and cat all are getting along! What a full house you have. I bet you are getting some fun photos!

Trudy not hearing from you must mean you are having a great time with the grand kids.

Have a great day all!

Hi Trudy - yes Luther and I have gotten in nice walks at the temperatures yesterday were in the 70s and today in the 50s. Glad you had such fun with grandkids. So Sorry about the Uncle.

Good morning, ladies. It's been a busy morning so far and its only just after nine LOL. Got up at 6:00, Beckam came at 6:30 and then I had to snuggle, feed, go for a short walk and get the dogs settled before sitting down to work. We put the baby gate more securely in the bedroom doorway to keep the dogs out, so Noel would have his quiet safe spot (he's been hiding under the table in there since Beckam came). Beckam slipped last week and injured his shoulder so I'll be taking him in for x-rays sometime over the next day or two, so only short walks for him as to not stress the joint until we find out what's going on. His dad gave me some anti-inflammatory pills for him in the meantime. He's happy to be here though and is now sleeping under my desk with his head on my foot. I will probably take pics of him later today or tomorrow. There will no pics of Noel with Beckam, that won't happen LOL. Taz is just flip-flopping around in joy with two animals now in the house LOL.

Health-wise, I'm down almost 10 lbs and 4" gone off my waist so am feeling so much lighter without the belly bloat. The sucky thing is, I just got rid of tons of clothes to charity these last few months and I should have kept them, darn it. I'm going to have to buy some new stuff soon as the weight comes off. But at least all the clothes went to charity so it was for a good cause. I will have fun buying some more clothes soon. Luckily I do have some of the medium stuff still as I hadn't finished going through all the bins downstairs so didn't quite get rid of all of it. Last night I had baked zucchini strips with egg and parmesan coating with spices. Yum.

Chris - glad you are feeling better. Sounds like a nice CRV you'll be getting. How fun to put together a craft session for the kids. I did a few classes for the kids years ago (twinkies I think they call the little girl guides) and it was a blast. We did stamping and glitter projects.

Nancy - I'm so jealous of your birding adventures. I can't wait to get out to the sanctuary out here soon for a photo walk.

Trudy - glad you had fun with the kids. The visit to the toy store sounds like a great time for them. Too bad about your DIL's uncle though.

Sharon - sorry to hear you are feeling sore still. Hope you're soon back to normal.

Gotta go, need to get to work, especially since I need to take off for a few hours today or tomorrow probably to get Beckam into the vet for x-rays. Oh well, when is my life not busy? LOL Have a great day, everyone.
