Is it me or did the last week fly by? Wasn't I *just* saying ugh-- another Monday? Well, it is another Monday but I am happy with the above freezing temps. I don't know what the temp was yesterday, but I was out with the dogs in the afternoon and it was old, but not freezing. We had snow overnight but by the time my parents got here, it was all melted.
My parents had me worried yesterday. They were supposed to be here at 10.30 which in their time should have been 10.15. When they weren't here at 10.30, I was concerned, thinking that maybe the roads on the way here were bad. 10.40 and I am now more than a bit concerned. 10.45 they pull in the driveway. The reason they were late was that they were getting fruit from my supermarket and bumped into one of the nurses that takes care of my mom at cardio rehab. The nurse lives down the street from me and knows lawnmower man! Small world!

Breakfast was great- my mom looked good and my parents didn't bicker-- at all. Crazy! (In a good way LOL)
They missed seeing Scott but were happy watching the baby rats nap in Caitlyn's hoodie.

Today is my PT eval and I never heard back from my ins co if I needed a referral. I am going to have to call them first thing this morning. Ugh.
That is about it aside from the usual laundry and housework.

Have a fab day, O-zies!!

Jean- how neat to see all of the birds flitting around the fruit trees. Is it unusual to have that many different kinds of birds in one group?
I don't watch awards show (mainly cuz I don't watch movies LOL) were the Oscars good this year?
When I sent Leah the link to Trudy's Insta- I had to tell her how jealous I was to be surrounded by so many talented and creative people -- and me, not able to draw a stick figure or werewolf. bwahaha!). Their paintings, yours too, are incredible, Rae's photography... all of the O's scrap pages. Good stuff here.
Yeah, poor W gets blamed for everything b/c she is the happiest dog ever and will love us no matter what we say about her or to her. :D

Nancy- It has been crazy how decent the weather has been- you have had great luck being able to get out and not have to worry about slipping on snow and ice. Luther must be thrilled. My dad and I were going batty looking at Google maps and the NJ transit info to get to the Pru Center. Is it Newark Broad Street or Penn Station? He used to work on Broad and Lafayette which is right here but it looked like the Broad St station is farther south? I told him that he should just carpool in with my ILs. That would make life much easier!
Yikes, I can't believe that DH is still sick :( I hope that he and DS feel better. Gary and I watched a few episodes of Grace and Frankie and couldn't get into it. Must be b/c I am "too young." haha!!! We have been watching Homeland on Hulu since there isn't much else on. We are partway through Season 2 so we have lots more to go.
:high5: to the Devils!! Keep it going!

Kay- Ugh...... your weather sounds horrible. Sorry to hear that your lunch is smack dab in the middle. Maybe it will blow off somewhere else. If not, at least your house will be cozy and clean and you have a bag of books to keep you busy :)
My mom cooks the same way - her thing is "once around the pot" That is how she measures. No idea how big the pots are or how fast she is pouring or sprinkling-- but once/twice/etc around the pot. LOL
I hope that you are able to get some of the pics from your b-day. That really is sad that your DD's phone died before she could get the pics off. :(
Stay warm today!

Hugs to all of you!

Woke up to rain this morning... it is suppose to turn to snow later on today. Not looking forward to that at all. I need to mail some bills but think I will be lazy and just put them in the neighborhood out-going mail slot. Don't feel like driving to the post office.

Need to get the peach cobbler made soon. But have to get my shower and get dressed before I start on that. Got to dig out the recipe for the cobbler... it has been almost a year since I made one.

Chris, nice that you had a great visit with the parents and that they were not bickering. Good luck on your PT evaluation. How is the ankle doing?

Jean, now neat that you got to see a lot of birds. I saw a bunch flying around. Have a few robins darting here and there in the backyard. Think my neighbor has a feeder that attracts them.

Nancy, so good that you and Luther have been able to go for walks without worrying about slipping on icy places. That is good for both of you.

Didn't watch the Oscars as I haven't seen any of the movies that were up for awards. I pulled out another old favorite "Undetected" by Dee Henderson to read last evening. Will probably finish it this afternoon when I sit and elevate the foot. The fronts are making the foot ache alot so need to baby it a bit today just in case the gals can make it over tomorrow for the lunch.

Hope every one has a good week.

Good morning, ladies. Had a fun but busy wkend. We went to a party on Saturday night and had a great time. The host is an exceptional chef and used a sous vide. I've heard of this and have been curious and I think its something I need to get. D laughed and said we have no room for more kitchen stuff but I'll make room :) We had pork belly that just melted in your mouth, it was incredible. This yr the party (hed does one every January) food was different b/c his wife is now keto so there were 4 types of meat, lots of cheese and sauces and minimal desserts. I was happy b/c I could eat pretty much everything.

Got my hair all chopped off, actually shorter than I wanted but didn't notice as I was too busy chatting with the stylist and didn't pay attention to what she was doing. I told her, no big deal b/c my hair grows fast and I think I'll love it in about 2-3 weeks. I just love that short hair is so easy to take care of. Ordered the baby book for the baby shower this coming wkend. Now I just need to wrap everything up. It'll be fun taking pics of the shower and the following wkend will take pics of mom-to-be. She is just so sweet and cute, can't wait to get photos of her.

Today I've got CT stuff, lots of desk work b/c my main client was sick last week, had laryngitis, so didn't dictate much on Friday so it is all coming thru now. Busy morning for me but Mondays usually are. Yesterday was national pizza day so we had pizza for dinner (gluten free for me) but for the rest of the week I'm going to focus on really low carb foods to balance out the wkend foods. This works for me and I like that I just focus on eating the right foods, not having to count points or calories, I haven't got the patience to record and keep track of all the food. WW years ago drove me nuts with having to measure and track everything.

Chris - glad the family time was fun. I didn't watch the award show either. We binge watched a lot of episodes yesterday of "The Unicorn". Its one of my (new show) comedy faves this past yr. We watched Homeland too but can't remember where we left off so need to check epguides before we resume at some point. We are 1 or 1.5 seasons behind I believe. Its a great show but there's always so much on that I can't keep up with it all.

I'm going to get going now and get some work done. Have a great day everyone!

Morning ladies... I have been on face time with Mason and his Mom. Hunter is at pre-school but Mason is home because of the teachers strike and will be home again tomorrow and Thursday :mmph: wish the teachers could get what they want and get back to work!! Had fun with Mason showing me all of his transformer toys and trying to guess the names of them. He laughed at some of the names that I came up with  Had a nice lunch with the in-laws at the Rock Cod Cafe! The halibut and shrimp are to die for! We are wondering if we made a mistake by getting FIL unlimited ancestry access for 6 months though. They are constantly arguing over who is who and FIL thinks he should change everything to what he thinks it should be. OMG really your family history can't be the way that you think it should be when its all documented and on Ancestry.com LOL . Poor MIL is trying to work on her side of the family and is getting frustrated with FIL constantly peering over her shoulder and telling her what he thinks :frusty: I might need to ask Jean a few things so we can get some things straightened out for them LOL. We were surprised that FIL has asked us to come up next weekend to take down one of the old Maple trees on their property, it is dead and is becoming a big concern that it might topple over and do some damage. They very rarely ask for help with anything, but FIL is 85 years old and should not even be thinking about doing it on his own. So I guess we will be busy cutting up wood and storing it away for them. Unless of course it is pouring rain, FIL says he doesn't work in the rain LOL.

Chris - Glad that your parents arrived at your house safely and how nice that her nurse lives just down the street from you! Sorry you had to worry about them though! How nice that your parents got along while they were there also, perhaps your Mom is feeling so much better and that is also helping with her patience with your Dad?? My FIL is very bad for interrupting my MIL's conversations and she tries very hard not get upset, but once in awhile she explodes LOL. You would think that he would learn, but guess its too late to change him now?? Good luck with your PT Evaluation and your phone call to the ins. this morning. Yup its :washing: day for me also.

Kay - Don't blame you for not wanting to go to the Post Office if its going to be snowing for your later on today! Sorry that your foot is still bothering you so much! I did not watch much of the Oscars either, but did see Joaquin Phoenix do his speech for winning. Wish I hadn't LOL! I don't think that the Academy should allow them to use their stage for political speeches ! He sounded like a real nutcase in my humble opinion! :tape: Hope you find your Peach Cobbler recipe! :hungry:

Rae - What a lovely weekend you had! The fun night with your friend who is the cook sounded amazing and I bet the meal was delicious! Had to laugh that you will make room for the new kitchen gadget that you want. Nice to have the shorter hairstyle, that happens to me also, when I talk on and on with my stylist! I hated WW too constantly trying to keep track of points etc. Ugh!! Hope your work load is not too heavy today!

Felis - So happy that you got to see the Oscars and enjoy popcorn too! What did you think of Joaquin Phoenix's speech and Renée Zellweger's rambling on and on?? Gee Whiz why can't they just say thank you and get off the stage? LOL.

Well I better get busy with my :washing: I painted some new coasters and trivets and got them all resined yesterday. I will post photos to my facebook and Instagram today. Have a great day everyone!

good day - today is rain and I really don't like it. Cant get out. Just watching more Grace and Frankie. It really is for older women. I am stuck at home and it is so irritating. My son's car in finally getting the damage done from the hit and run and it may take a week. I have a hair cute on Wed and if the weather is nice I can walk but I really hate that he has my car. So my real irritation is I have two hockey games this week. Will my son be home in time so I can get to the game. Tomorrow is to be rainy and thus I do not want to walk to the train station. So my son is not going so that I mention that I can not drive to game on Tuesday and does my DIL offer to drive - nope. I am going to do a bit of a rant here so excuse me. She pays for the parking so feels she should be driven. OK I can partly understand that but I feel I pay just as much with the gas and use of my car. So why one day she cannot drive I don't understand. On Thursday my son is going so that should be fine. So I am still not sure what will happen but I am a bit sadden by this. I dreamt on Sat. night that my DH cleaned out all my closets and I could not find my clothes. Well yesterday he got in this cleaning kick and decided to put all our albums both CDs and vinyl albums. So he put them in plastic containers and there they sit. My questions is always why clean out my stuff when he has his own stuff to clean. I feel it is him trying to control especially since I went and got our son a new phone. What he does not realize is that my son has had his phone for 5 years and I had it for 2 years before that. Oh well.

Chris so glad you had a nice brunch but I be it was a bit scary when they did not arrive on time. Have fun at the PT eval. Hope the insurance was not a problem. And yes you use the Newark Penn Station not Broad!

Kay hope you don't get too much snow. Peach cobbler sounds good especially with vanilla ice cream. I have figured out how to do most of my bills on line. Makes me happy. I know some worry about security but I hope I have enough security blocks.

Rae you are busy but I love that you still have time for the birds and squirrels. Saw the photos from your party and love the hair cut! How fun to have this party every year! And now that they have keto food you must have been so happy!

Waving to all.
Have a great day!

Good morning girls!
Oscars night was very funny and I didn't fall asleep, but then the whole Monday was sleepily. The storm is hit West Europe and we texted to my friends in England and family in Germany, and fortunately they all are fine and survived the weekend without property damages. Only one friend was kidding that now have swimming pool instead front yard, but she don't have basement, so no inside the house problems. Most popular answer was that they are locked inside and cook. I'm not sure did 'cook' is literally or metaphor for something  LOL. Here the bad weather isn't came, and actually is very sunny and quiet.

Trudy, oh, I was for Leo! Joaquin bored me a lot, as you may remember I was vegetarian many years and quit from this ideology just previous year, so now have some kind of intolerance to politicization of the topic! He was on enough protests and have open stage in his social profiles, was unnecessary to preach on the Oscars :mad2: . I like Renée Zellweger's and was for her, but she looked restless, as OMG how to say something smart after Phoenix's speech, when I'm prepare only gratitude. I think she lost from that she didn't act normally. I liked how Brad Pitt add the political joke, without to make it novel long, just a wink :yo: !
I saw your photos on instagram, they are lovely as usual. My preferences are for the first set, but both are great! Bravo! Oh, your IL's are so sweet! It's always nice to see people passionate in something, even when they are stubborn about to did it their way.

Jean, I'm not watched any of others movie awards ceremony, just because they not shown here. I prefer Bafta, but they not released it on any channel here.

Chris, haha, you're always worry! In my family accuracy is something unnatural so it's difficult to me to understand you. But nice that they was good behave!

Kay, hope your foot is better and would not trouble you at the lunch time!

Rae, L O L my dad is the same, he wants every new kind of kitchen appliance he learned for, and then said: ''what you doing with these crowded cabinets, they never can't close'' . Glad to hear you had fun time!

Nancy, I hope you'll be able to synchronize the schedules and have your car for the games! Yes for people is easier to clean out the other's stuff instead their own, because of the emotional connection they don't have with these subjects. Oh, so do you have on what to play vinyl albums? My project for this summer is to try repair one gramophone we have, because vinyl is now very fashioned and most of my favorite bands realized albums on vinyl.
