THIS HAS TO STOP!
I cannot keep up with allll of these MONDAYS! :thud:
Too many Mondays hitting me one- after- the- other. Please tell me I am not the only one who feels that the last couple of weeks were a blur. Such high hopes for getting stuff done this weekend. pfft. ;)

I did get a few things done, just not as much as I had envisioned. That's nothing new. I was hoping to get Cait's album done but that was impossible to do while she was home. She kept popping in and out of my office so I gave up. I have to do that today. Tie me to the desk until it is done.
My mom's computer was doing something really weird with Outlook and Gary couldn't figure it out at all. But it was good to see her for a little while and give her some hugs. The biggest weight off of my shoulders was ordering BFFs Xmas gift. I got her a necklace that has a saying in Latin about female leadership and feminism. I was also looking at one that said Bad A** in Morse Code but she has a degree in Literature so I went with the Lain :D

Today I must get Cait's book done and I want to make the dog cookies.

HAGD!!!!

Good morning long lost Oozies - I'm so glad you're here!! The month is whizzing by, lots of peopling this weekend, no progress made toward decorating the house!! Only have a minute, it's time to get ready for work.

Quick question: I'm trying to upload our daughters wedding album to Shutterfly to print into a book. All the pages are made 12 x 12, at 300, with regular products. I'm uploading full res Jpg's. Half of them are coming up with poor resolution warnings!! They are all made the same! Why are some reading poorly and others not? Anyone else have any experience with this with Shutterfly? Of course I'm waiting for the very last minute for this to be a Christmas gift. It may have to wait and be their 5 year wedding anniversary gift, :holysheep:. At least it's not 15 years like Belle's 8th grade DC trip album. Hah!

I miss you all, sorry I'm not keeping up better with the day to day! But I love you all and am very thankful for this community.

BTW, I am feeling a little more human, the pain levels went down to "normal." My brain OTOH is *messed up.* I cannot express how upsetting it is to know that you have a word on the tip of your tongue or want to say a word and something completely different comes out. It's a very different feeling than the normal/occasional trip up when it is constant. I was almost in tears talking to Cait and Gary at one point. You feel like you have lost all control of your mind and I know that I used to be able to speak and communicate intelligently.
It will pass.
I have to write these things down to document the changes - good and bad. I use a symptom tracker but as I have said here before, the O is like my personal (and public :notinfrontofthekids: ) diary so I can search for things later.

J either needs to go out or wants b-fast and is jumping around.
Back in a flash.

@mimes1 Hey Amy!!! I wish I had an answer to your photo album issue. I have had that happen to me before and I don't know why. All I know is what I said here the other day--the more I need something done quickly. the more the websites mess around with me LOL!

Is your Osteoporosis meds a once a week med?? I hope your body knows what to do with it this time around and you dont feel quite so achey.
It's once a month. And I hope so too.
But I found world class surgeon and the rest is history. Through all that with lots of prayers I was able to move into healthy space and mostly forgive my mom. She did what she did and I cant change that. I am hurt by it as were my kids, but dwelling in the anger was just making me a mean nasty girl and I didn't like her. So I gave it to God and am still working on total forgiveness
You are amazing. For real!
Are you working today or can you get your feet up and relax? Take it easy either way. If you half-a** it at work, what is the worst they can do, fire you? :killer:

@bcgal00 The class sounds like it was very engaging and "creativity-expanding." (see, I can't get the right word. It's in there. Just out of reach. Hmmph)
Did you have a fun time at the Canasta gathering?

@BrightEyes I want to do the AJ challenges and I'm not having any luck or time. Hope you did. I am not having any Eureka moments at all but it's smart to collect some AI images for future use.

@vickyday Thank you for the JW info! One of the kids told us the official website to go to to learn about Jehovah.
The Evolution part was something we were sort of aware of and they don't classify humans as "animals" even though scientifically we are part of the Animal Kingdom. Lauren was trying to explain something about that and ended up describing the classification as an umbrella term, that humans are not plants or fungi.
I messed up by asking them to think about the weather a few weeks ago. Then asked about it around Halloween and caught myself to switch to October. It's different for sure. :)

Good luck with the car today, I hope the shop finds it straightened out.

Quick in an out again today... will be heading to the base to pick up my meds and grocery shop at the commissary. Cold front is heading in late this afternoon so want to be back home before it hits.

I had a "hit" and "miss" in cooking yesterday. The hit was pork steaks with barbeque sauce... so yummy!!! Had a baked potato and fruit salad with it for supper. Made enough that I won't have to cook tonight. :D The miss was the pumpkin pie. Yes, I finally got it made. I had bought an off-brand of pumpkin and knew as soon as I opened the can that it wouldn't be as good as the Libby's brand I usually get. It was "soupy" rather than soft but firm!!! Instead of taking an hour for the pie to 'set'... it took an hour and 20 minutes!!! And the flavor was not the usual one although I added the same amount of spices that I usually add. It is just barely OK... Will try another piece today and may end up tossing the rest of it... I am tossing the 2nd can I have in the pantry.

Good Monday Morning everyone! It was another whirlwind of a weekend!! I keep wondering if I will get a chance to get anything accomplished here at the O when my DH retires!! We were busy with doing some shopping for Christmas gifts and cleaning and repairs to our on-suite bathroom. It seems that taps and faucets don't last forever :giggle4: . There was some cursing going on while my Gary was trying to get the old faucet off the tub:furious:. Needless to say we won't be able to use the tub until we can get a new set and that probably won't be until next weekend. I finally told him to take a break from trying to get the old faucet off, it wasn't going anywhere, so he went outside and washed the car. That seemed to have put him in a better mood! He BBQ'd some burgers for supper on Sunday night and made enough for the In-Laws and SIL Linda. So we gathered at MIL's and FIL's for supper it was a nice end to a very busy and frustrating weekend! I did manage to finally get my Calendar sent off to the printer, guess it was problems that they were having on their website, whew that is done! You should have seen all the parcels piled up because of the Canada Post Strike!! I wish I would have taken a photo! Everyone is sending and receiving their parcels through FedEX, Purolater, etc. and Staples is a drop off/pickup place. Dam Canada Post is sure making life miserable for a lot of people!! Today will be a day of getting some baking done and working on some more Christmas Cards, none that will have to mailed, just some for our family members that we can take with us to Ottawa or drop off here in town. I will be getting a face time call from Heather soon to catch up on the weekend happenings. Oh and our little man Hunter was in a Karate tournament on the weekend and he got a first in sparring and a second in his Kata and Chambara. Heather sent photos of one very proud young man, I hope I can get a page done with them soon! Anyone know of any good Karate type kits??

This month really is going by far too quickly!! I am not ready for Christmas or our upcoming trip to join our family for the holidays! Sorry you are having trouble with Shutterly! I had to change my calendar pages to PDF files in order to get them to print properly, perhaps you could try that??
BTW, I am feeling a little more human, the pain levels went down to "normal." I am happy that you are doing better with the pain levels Chris!! It must be so frustrating for you however to not be able to get the words out properly though! I hope that this will pass quickly!! Nice that you got to see your Mom for a bit and I hope that her computer problems are solved!! Wonderful news about your BFF!! Doing a happy dance for her!! dance4

Hope you get your running around done before the weather changes! That is too bad that your pumpkin pie did not turn out how you had hoped!! Seems a lot of products have changed and most are not for the better! Guess you won't be buying that brand again!

Ok I have some catching up to do here and then will be chatting with Heather for a bit before getting on with my day. I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!! :waving3:

Good Morning!
The weather is worse! Its 41!!! WHY????? I need snow! Not ice and bare nasty grass showing. :censored:

Tie me to the desk until it is done.
Okay. I'm game. I'll tie you to the desk! *insert wicked laugh* Always glad to help out. :giggle4:

Oh Amy how frustrating. I hope youre able to figure it out. The only time I have had this issue was when I tried to use one of my saved for web pages. They're too low res to make good prints. But yours are all the same so its really weird why they wont work.
Are you working today or can you get your feet up and relax? Take it easy either way. If you half-a** it at work, what is the worst they can do, fire you? :killer:
I am down to 3 Saturdays. No weekdays this month. YEAH!!!!! I also say that all the time for over 20 years, what's the worst they can do? Fire me? Yeah they wont then they have to work weekends. :floorlaugh: I've only really screwed up once and it was an honest mistake and so the boss fixed it, explained where I messed up and all was good. Nothing too crucial.

Oh no! I dont like pumpkin to start with but off brand is even yuckier. I'm so sorry your pie didn't turn out. The worst thing ever is to have a craving and then have it be disappointing. I hope chilling over night helps the flavors come together.
I keep wondering if I will get a chance to get anything accomplished here at the O when my DH retires!!
You will. Retirement is different. A month of crazy and what are we doing will happen but it does level out. I had the same fears of how much will he being home interrupt my schedule. It leveled out and I only once or twice had to say no I have plans. I didn't retire, find a hobby.

Today is a stay home day but its Monday so that means I get to use the washer and dryer and clean house. My family all have an assigned day for laundry and if you miss you gotta wait. I dont like missing LOL It means the laundry piles too high and then its more work. I might make a cheesecake today. We shall see. I think I have everything to make it.

Well need more coffee, I know youre shocked by that.:floorlaugh:
Have a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies. I'm enjoying my day at home. Other than walking Remi I don't have to go out. I'll be scrapping, creating jewelry, reading a Xmas themed book and watching youtube videos throughout the day. The rest of the week is busy every day so I'll enjoy this quiet day.

We had fun with friends yesterday for our game day. We had lots of appies, a chili dinner and played canasta. My friend brought her jewelry supplies with her so I could see what she has created. She was so excited to see my plethora of supplies, now she wants to have some jewelry making days with me. We'll start doing that in the new year.

@faerywings Glad your aches and pains are feeling better. Sounds like a great gift for your BFF.

@taxed4ever Sounds like you are organized and getting everything done for the holidays. When do you leave?

I was watching youtube as I was on the computer typing so got distracted when a video came up about a mini hair curler. I then searched amazon and found it. Should come in the next day or two. I also saw a gift D is buying for me in the amazon cart. I told him I'll pretend to be surprised when I open it on xmas. It is a cheese cutter, you dial in the cutting width so all the slices will come out even. We entertain a lot so that'll be a good gift. I don't really need anything so a few small gifts is all I want.

I've somehow wasted 3 hrs on the computer so need to get dressed, get Remi out for a walk and then have lunch. HAGD everyone.

I'm back!!! Guess I picked the right day to go to the base. Only 2 people ahead of me at the Base Pharmacy... I was in and out of there in 15 minutes!!! And the commissary was not crowded at all. When I finished shopping, I walked right up to a register .... no line!!! :wow: The only not so good news was there were a lot of empty shelf spaces with delays in getting items ordered. Shades of when Covid 19 first hit!! Only had to drive through 1 construction area and traffic was moving quickly through it. All in all, not a bad trip. But, I am more than ready to put up my feet and rest this afternoon. I need to do a last minute check on my Day 12 - challenge to make sure it is ready to go for tomorrow.

@taxed4ever Sounds like you are organized and getting everything done for the holidays. When do you leave?
I meant to reply to @vickyday about this too, but totally forgot. We fly out from Victoria on Christmas Eve and should arrive in Ottawa around 7pm, sure hope that the weather cooperates and that the airline doesn't go on strike or cancel our flight!! Sounds like you are having a nice quiet day at home for a change, so nice to busy with new friends and new hobbies!!

That is my fear, because DH does not have any hobbies other than fixing things around the house and doing yard work. I don't want his butt planted in his Lazyboy recliner watching TV all day!!

Find him some man friends!!!!! :giggle4: Maybe get him into bee keeping and researching how to do so. Or plants that take lots of skill to grow. Shop class to build stuff to donate LOL

I have to be honest.....every book I have ordered from Shutterfly has pages that come loose from the binding! I only have my printing done with Persnickety.....however, I don't recall if I have ever ordered a book from there. But, I don't do anything with Shutterfly....50% off coupons or not!

Good afternoon/evening,
Had to go grocery shopping today for the Wednesday meal at church because we have to take the car back to the shop.......again.......tonight. The mechanic had to order a computer board for the car and all I can see are $$$$$$. We may have to take a loan out to pay for the repairs, LOL!

Tomorrow I will be driving Ruth's car.......again.......to take the ladies to the widows' meeting.

Any prayers would be appreciated that this is the last time we have to take the car back to the shop!

I'm so behind on Event stuff! I looked for my challenge for day 12 to move over to the ready thread but couldn't find it! Then I found an alert telling me that it was moved to the ready thread already. I guess maybe Ona moved it over. WHEW!!! I got worried I had done something wrong somewhere along the way!

I've only done 2 of the challenges. Hopefully after this week is over I'll have my car back for good and can get some things done here!

Getting ready to take the car to the shop.
Have a great evening!

Good to know! I've never ordered a book from Shutterfly either, so maybe I'll check out Persnickety first. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

Amy, I've gotten lots of books from Shutterfly and always liked them. I use their templates for the images I upload because a 12x12 page doesn't show a full 12x12 but essentially crops the edges. I don't actually do them that big, usually just 10x10. Still don't understand the resolution issue.

Oh, my... I had forgotten that jingle!!! :floorlaugh: The good news is I tried a piece of the pumpkin pie for desert tonight. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Guess sitting in the fridge overnight helped the flavors blend a bit more. Certainly not up to my "normal standards" but good enough that I cut it into severing pieces and popped some into the freezer. Kept one in the fridge to have tomorrow.

Here is hoping that this is the last time the car needs to go back in to be worked on...

Yes, I certainly hope this is the last time the car needs to go back to the shop! Thanks!
