Happy Monday, dear Ooos! I woke up at my usual time, at 4 am, and decided to get out of bed at 5. I wasn't going to be able to get back to sleep and it isn't like I don't have gobs of stuff to get done.
So here I am, caffeinated and "ready" to go. haha.

I started a thread to share photos of handmade gifts and I put the pics of the squid and octopus in it. They actually look cuter in person but you will get a good idea of what I am doing. Gary and Caitlyn think Scott is going to love the octopus. That was my main goal yesterday and I was happy to finish it. Other than laundry and starting my food shopping order I don't think I did much of anything else.

Today's big job is to clean out the one freezer so I can start baking cookies and storing them. I would love to get the magic bars made today as well but I don't know if the kitchen is ready for that. Our plan is to get our tree tomorrow so I should probably focus on getting the room prepped for that. We have to move furniture all around which means vacuuming a year's worth of accumulated dog fur under the sofa and baseboards. And noseprints off of the window! LOL

Wishing everyone a happy, cozy, and productive day!

Kay- can you send your sleep cycle over to me, please? So happy that you had a nice visit with your nephew, must have been a really enjoyable time sharing the photos and stories. Good luck to your sister, I hope that she is ready to come off of the oxygen. I will keep my eyes open for the NR book.

Felis- Happy St Nicholas Day to you and your family. I hope your house is starting to look festive and that it helps cheer your family up a bit. Hugs to you all.
You crack me up. The vet is in his late 30s, I think, and has a girlfriend LOL

Cheryl- Ava's shop is so pretty, I love how she has it all done in natural tones. Felis has it right about the complexity of surgery on the little animals. The tumor that Liv had removed was right next to the main artery in her arm and when you think about the size of a rat's arm, it makes me a bit queasy how delicate the surgery is.
Liv is doing great, rats have very fast metabolisms so they heal pretty quickly. Cordelia was lying right on top of her arm yesterday and she didn't seem to be in any discomfort. Can you imagine, surgery, no pain meds, and another person squishing you? :faint2:
Oh no, please feel better and rest!

[HELP ME! Every time I read these threads I get Santa Baby stuck in my head! hahaha!!!!!]

Jean- did the Browns win? Hope so, that always makes it more exciting to watch. Caitlyn is lucky she has a break from classes and the internship for 4 weeks. She and Leah were talking about the other night that Leah only had the two-week break from her internship while her placement was closed. Cait is on track even with the full 4-week break to get all of her hours accounted before May so she is going to be very happy during that time off. Except that is when we are going to have reip[ up her carpet and redo her floor so I don't think *anyone* is going to be truly happy! heh!
Gary likes saltines so I bet he would eat matzo but probably with peanut butter on them. Me-- I could live on Triscuits. I hope that the baskets come out as once as they are in my head.

Nancy- What is up with the next hockey season? Will they be doing the bubbles again?
Oh no, poor Luther and noisy kids :p That is a very smart move to have him in the doggy daycare for part of the day. Why is that the way it always happens, men can't find something, women find it in seconds? Caitlyn would scold me for being sexist but I joke that is that women can find things because they have a uterus- built-in homing device. But that isn't the case for me anymore. :pound:
I am glad that you found the boxes -- Gary gets annoyed with me too.
Ugh, what a nightmare about the fuses blowing, is everything working yet? You *do* have a backup coffee pot, right??????

You are all making me so happy that Caitlyn interviewed my mom last year. It is really important and is nice to know that it will be available after she is gone.
If my kids don't have kids of their own, is that the end of my line, genealogically speaking? Christopher is adopted so he will continue the name but not the genes...
Deep thoughts for a Monday- too deep. Time to focus on the coffee instead!

good morning - Our Sunday was calm and today will be the same. I am home alone and the silence is good LOL not that I don't love the sound of children because I do. Not much going on this week. Now is just wait until Christmas comes. But it is so nice to have a home that is decorated. Luther and I will head out for an afternoon walk once it warms a little. The wind has calmed a bit but still cold. At least with nothing on the agenda I can scrap.

Chris 4 am is up early! Have fun baking! The house must smell so good. Have fun getting the tree! They are still debating the start of hockey season. They wanted to start on Jan 1 but there is a disagreement on money sharing. So now they are thinking the middle of Jan. But for me the question will be if or when to go back to see games in real life. I am not willing to risk health to see in person.

Kay I started a new series of books. Apple loves to give you the first book free to see if you want to continue the series. JH Croix is the author. This series is set in a small town outside of Anchorage and they describe places I have seen so it is cool that way. Anyway I am now inclined to finish the series. Hope your weather improves.

Have a great day all!

Hello girls!
The wind was so strong this night, running around and keeps me awake till very late(or better said early). As I often have these insomnia episodes, I know it's better to go out of the bed instead to waste time in tries. I was able to left some love into the gallery, which really helps for my cheerful mood. And I'm actually very satisfied from myself, today I woke up late, but in excellent shape. I don't remember did I mention, but my country is in partial lockdown, so me and my mom not work, but dad and my sis do. I'm become to feeling more and more like throwback in time, as this is some kind of winter break from school. I'm not watched any Christmas movie yet, but must start soon!

Cheryl, I told this under one of your layouts, but have to repeat it here for me you're the queen of clustering, adore your style!I also love Eartha Kitt's original, no one do it better than her! Also I'm fan of the "old school" songs as you said them! My must for Christmas list is Nat King Cole, but this year just found Rosemary Clooney and like her a lot. I'm afraid I'm more familiar with EU artists, but tries to learn.

Jean, Football Sunday sounds great! I'm afraid that with the cold weather I'm watching too much TV now.

Nancy, hmm, you confuse me, first you told you're not celebrate St. Nicholas day, but then described such a fun and cute party, so how to understand that?! Oh, my, I know I shouldn't but I laugh so much for the kitchen mess, sorry! Your day for ME time today sounds very good!

Chris, good luck with the cleaning and cooking, the scary part is to start! Love your thread for handmade gifts, I do plan few and if I be serious and release them, will love to share! Ok, my bad, about the vet! I just suspect every man in insidious motives LOL. How you'll redo your floor? Mine are with tiles, because of the pets, and small rugs here and there, to not be so cold. Sorry for the song, I love it, and enjoying on this luxury wish list, who knows with positive thinking  !

Have a lovely day my dears!

Morning ladies... I am finally back here without any interruptions today! DH is back at work and and I have the house to myself, no presents to wrap or gifts to get in the mail.I do have some decorating to do and trying to decide if I should bother with doing the staircase this year. It's a lot of work and no one will be seeing it :mmph: DH thinks I shouldn't bother, but it really does make it look so much more like Christmas. So anyway I hope to get be able to finally scrap a page for one of the Christmas Challenges today.

Chris - Your gifts look amazing!! So cute! You are too hard on yourself!! I think that you have a done a great job on your gifts!! I think Scott will love his!! Hope you get your freezer cleaned out so that you have room for all of those delicious cookies you are making! Your house will smell so great! I usually am awake around 4am too, but manage to get back to sleep until around 7am, but then I don't have big dogs taking up all the room in my bed LOL.

Nancy - Yes my Gary is anxious for hockey to start too, but looks like it will be very different this year! Not sure it would be a good idea to go to games in person for a long time yet. Enjoy your quiet house today!

Kay - Glad that you are having a better sleep these days! Yup 4am is just too darn early! Sounds like you had a very productive cleaning day! Hope that your Monday is relaxing and that you are keeping toasty warm and cozy!

Felis - Happy St. Nicolas Day! Hope you had a great time with your family! We have had many windy days here too! Sorry to hear that you are in partial lockdown again! I see California is in total lockdown now, no one allowed to leave their homes, the numbers are astronomical there, but then everyone travelled for Thanksgiving so its no wonder. :rollpin: STAY HOME for heavens sake!!

Jean - Hope that your team won their football game! DH was watching for a short time, but had to get back to putting up the Christmas lights outside, so I never did see who won. Hope your weather gets better and you get to see some sunshine today! Oh I meant to say that I checked out your art work that you have up for sale and I must agree with the others!! Its fabulous and you are so very talented my friend! Oh i did get the parcels out in the mail and by the time I paid for those and a bunch of Christmas Stamps it cost $100 OUCH!!

Cheryl - Sure hope that you are feeling better today! :nono: we don't want to get a cold!! Love Ava's shop on Instagram! So sweet!

Oh I forgot to mention that DH got the dishwasher up and running again, seems that there must have been a power surge or something and we had to turn off the breaker for a few minutes and then turn it back on, then hold down the Power and start buttons for 10 seconds and it rebooted and is working fine now. Crazy appliances!! I am just happy to not have to spend the $$'s on a new one! Ok off to get another cup of coffee and then spend some time here in the gallery! Have a great Monday everyone!

Good early afternoon, my lovelies.

I'm happy to report that I just have a cold. That's not great, but I felt so bad a couple of days ago and you know what we always think!! I thought "this is it"! I haven't had a cold for a long time though and I'd forgotten how miserable they are!

I'm still struggling, but crawling back up, I think.

Thanks for looking at Ava's shop. She takes all of her pictures with a certain "preset" - she wants them to all look alike. Thanks for looking too, Trudy. And thanks to Felis and me you now have Santa Baby stuck in your head, Chris. BWAHAHA It's stuck in mine, too.

Felis, I LOVE Rosemary Clooney! Those old school singers were THE best ever! Nat King Cole is wonderful, too. Thanks so much for your sweet comment about my clustering - that's one of my favorite things to do. I haven't had time to read the comments on my own pictures, but I'll do that today. I've been so busy leaving comments on my Challenge, that I haven't even looked at my own.

I'm sitting here trying to imagine performing surgery on a tiny rat. Wow - that can't be easy!

Trudy, like I said, I DO have a cold, but I was afraid it was something worse coming on. Whew! Glad you got your dishwasher fixed!

Good news - our appliances were delivered yesterday! YAY another milestone toward getting in the house! Baseboards go on this week and the bathrooms aren't in yet - the floors are done, though.

I have lots of things I need to do today - hope I feel like doing them. Poor Daisy bears the brunt of my not feeling good - she expects her long walks, regardless. I really skimped on her yesterday, but Ava rescued me by coming down and running with her.

Have a great day. Hugs to all!!

Boy, the day just flew by before I got in here for a quick hello. Lots going on in the forum and especially in the 12 days of Christmas events. Got my Re-do of LO done... and got so many nice comments. Thanks everyone. Hard to believe we are past the half-way mark on these events. December is always a fun but busy time in the forum. Seems like I am always playing 'catch-up'.

I must have read later than normal [11PM] and slept in until 8:30 this morning. Woke up feeling really rested so the extra sleep did its work. It was light and bright outside... hardly any wind and blue skies with lots of sunshine. Opened the family room door for a breath of fresh air - then closed it immediately as it was only 32* out there! Of course, part of the 'good feeling' is seeing all the clean rooms that I got done the other day. I had even cleaned the fridge before putting the veggies and fruit away. So nice to see it sparking white inside with lots of room inside [now that I tossed out old bottles, etc]. Hope this spurt of energy will last for awhile so I can get other chores done that I have been putting off.

I called the Base Pharmacy this morning [was caller #4] and only had to wait less than 10 minutes to talk to them. They finally got in my reflux meds [turned in the Rx over 6 weeks ago - it is not one they usually carry so had to special order it for me]. And I was able to ask for refills on several of my other meds. They will be ready tomorrow after 3 PM but will wait until Wednesday to go pick them up. Don't like to drive in later afternoon going-home traffic. Will also do a commissary run while I am there. Didn't think I would need much until I started looking around... now I need to make a list as there is a lot as long as I am going there. So Wednesday will be a very full day.

Trudy, think that is similar to what happened with my dishwasher, too. Had the GFI breaker pop and it affected my DW so that only a few different wash cycles would work... then they started all working later. Glad your DW is working now. I hear you about debating about doing the staircase decorations since it is only the 2 of you to see it and it is a lot of work. Maybe do the other decorations then decide on it. Hope you find time for a Christmas Challenge LO or 2.

Cheryl, so sorry you have a cold but so glad that it is not the OTHER. Wow, things are moving right along on the house. Glad the floors are done and appliances are delivered. Glad you have Ava around to help out with walking the dog since you aren't up to long walks right now.

Felis, I am with you in that I love the 'older' singers Christmas albums. Rosemary Clooney and Nat King Cole are 2 of my favorites. In fact... I have some of their LP records. Yep... bought them many years ago. Showing my age here. LOL

Chris, loved seeing the squid and octopus... they are adorable. Hope you get space cleared out so you can start baking the cookies. Good luck on getting the furniture moved so the tree can be put up. Busy time at your house.

Nancy, silence is golden as they say. I have gotten used to it - especially since Covid has made such an impact on being alone all the time. Love having family over but also love it once things are quiet again. So glad you got the house ready for Christmas. Now you can just sit back and enjoy it.

Need to get a few thing done then will be catching the governor's weekly update at 3PM. See if there are any changes to the restrictions in the counties. Since I live in one county that borders another one - there may be different restrictions in each. I shop in both so have to be aware of both.

Hi everyone. Trying to get lots of work done and will start to decorate the tree a bit later. My back is bothering me more again today so have been trying to be mindful of not sitting or standing too long, alternating often. Maybe the cold damp weather is aggravating it.

We know there is bad news coming about our friend/extended family member. My daughter texted that she'll call later today or tomorrow. She didn't want to talk right now. I'm trying to focus on other things and not dwell but it's not easy. Such a sad situation.

I never did get to scrap on the wkend and today don't feel like it but maybe later, who knows.

Chris - saw your squid and octopus...so cute! They turned out awesome!

Hope you all have a great day. BFN
