Daily Ooo's Monday December 24th- One more sleep

lOve the O!
Morning O fam- it is off to work I go for a half day. I am also sending off my son back to DC with his brothers presents and the goodies I ate way to much of. It was enjoyable to have him home. When I get home, I am baking an apple pie for MMG and I to have for Christmas day. MMG is also heading out to do his job today and should get home by dinner. I believe we will go to church tonight. Tomorrow we get to sleep in. It will be a new way to celebrate Christmas. I picked my exercise routine back up. I am still feeling all the "goodies" that I ate and the lack of exercising. So my energy and mood are picking up for the day.

Merry Christmas Eve day!

My DH and I actually went shopping LOL together. We usually go alone so this was fun. We got what we needed - in and out fast! Had fun printing out my scrapping pages from last year. They look so good. Going out to Christmas Eve dinner. Need to wrap a couple of presents. And then just enjoy the day!

Hope all have a wonderful Christmas Eve!

Good morning! Merry Christmas Eve!
In my family, Christmas is a 2 day holiday :)

I am up, and getting ready to start cooking soon. We are getting together with my neighbor to make Reindeer Food- we have been doing this since our girls were 2! even Scott has to be part of it. I know I scrapped pics of us tossing our the reindeer food last year- Scott with his army style jacket and Cait with her pink hair! LOL

I also need to get in the attic and find that batter operated candle. I am participating in the Candlelight Vigil for Sandy Hook tonight. Its been going around FB and Twitter to light a candle at 5 pm. I won't be here but I will leave that "candle" lit in my window. And hopefully good news-- Gary is going to try to come with us tonight!! We go to my mom's house-- tradition since I was born, maybe before that..... party at my moms. Not me being there. heh. Then Santa come on the fire truck and brings presents to the little ones and candy for us big kids. My dad is a lifer at this fire company so we always get a bit of special treatment. My BFF and I always take a pic on Santa's lap too. Then after that, we go to my BIL/SIL's and see my nieces and my MIL/FIL. Then back home before Santa comes!

Last year Gary came with us but we had to leave very quickly and very early. He had originally said he wasn't going to come b/c he felt it was more important that the kids got to see their cousins. But my guys were devastated and said it was more important to be with their dad. So -- fingers are crossed for a not-so-vomity night. (yeah, that sounds weird to me too)

Laurie- it must have been hard to send off your son. But the rest of your holiday with YMG sounds like it is going to be lovely!!

I actually lost a few pounds this month!! When I was at the dr's and had to get on the scale it was less than I was expecting, so when I got home, I got on my scale-- down 4 lbs! Thta balanced out my aggravation with his response to my "exercise." He asked if I exercised and I said not really but I clean houses as a job. His response was , but you don't really exercise? Riiight -- cuz scrubbing out bathtubs and lugging vacuums all around houses is easy work.
But anyway-- good to be going into the holidays with a bit of a cushion! (or would that be less of a cushion??)

Nancy- how nice to go shopping with YMG and enjoy it! Isn't is so cool to see you scrap pages printed? It really is a different experience than seeing them on the screen.

Morning lovely ladies... Off to work today ugghhh a full day 8-4:30 then I have my sisters and my one brother who just lost his wife over for appetizers and some Christmas Cheer. Looking forward to having my side of the family this evening. Then off to MG's parents on Christmas Day, after we facetime with DS and his family and DD and her man. Hopefully no tears shed over the fact that they are all so far away from us during this Holiday Season. :hurt: But then I think of all the parents that don't have their children at all anymore and my heart breaks for them!!

Laurie - It must have been hard to say goodbye to your youngest! At least you got some time with him though! Sounds like you will have a nice Christmas with your MG!! Enjoy your Christmas together!!

Nancy - How nice that you had fun shopping???? Not my idea of a good time, but glad it was for you! Have a lovely supper tonight and a wonderful Christmas Day!

Chris - Sounds like you will have a very busy couple of days! Enjoy yourself and hopefully you MG will feel well enough to enjoy himself too!! I pray he does! How could your dr. not think that all that housework is not a workout?? Fabulous that you are few pounds lighter than you thought! Hope you find your battery operated candle! A lovely thing to do!! Merry Christmas my friend!!

Well gotta hit the shower and get ready to start this Christmas Eve Day, hopefully you all have a great one!!

Chris, we have a two-day thing, too. we always celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve when i was growing up. it's an ethnic thing. then i married my ethnic wilderness of a hubby, and Christmas Day was always with his family. now that the older generation are gone, it fell to me to either keep up the traditions or not. i chose to, and it's been driving me batty for almost 20 years. but still i do it. and Chris, next time tell your doctor to do what YOU do, then tell him it's not exercise!

Trudy, i get the Skype treatment tomorrow from DS and fam. at least my daughter will be here, but i'm not sure she's over what happened between us last Christmas. so i don't anticipate a Jolly Holiday. too much Real Life intervening.

Laurie, as always, your exercise sticktoitiveness amazes me!

Nancy, i hauled my hubby over to the grocery store yesterday so that he could help carring the half of a cow i'm cooking tomorrow (bigBIG standing rib roast) and it helped me to remember why i don't want any man near me when i'm shopping....

well, off to finish the cleaning and prep work for the Ethnic Feast tonight. have a good one, O-zies!

Home till wed am at 7:30!!!! My car told me it needed an oil change, so after finding my first pt was not coming, I took my car over. That is done. Now I will need to put gas in it, but I couldn't make myself do it in the rain. I am going to eat lunch and clean up the house from the weekend baking and visiting frenzy!!

Good morning ladies! Ooops...guess that is afternoon! Been baking pumpkin pies and fixing eggnog black bottom pie. Also made another batch of chex mix. Still need to make the pie dough for tomorrow's quiches.

Made a quick run to the ER yesterday afternoon. Sydney stapled her finger and I didn't want to pull it out. Tried urgent care but they closed at 3 and we showed up at 3:17. They opened the door to tell us to go to the ER. Ugh... Syd asked this morning why they take jobs to help make people well and then won't do them. I suggested that she write a letter asking just that question in her 3rd grade handwriting. Once they removed the staple, she was back to normal!

Laurie, glad that your youngest son made it home. Did he drive? How long does that take?

We are heading to DC in June for a 3 day weekend reunion with the families of the girls that traveled together when we adopted Sydney. We have missed the last two reunions but are definitely attending this one. Now, the big question is, whether we drive and make it a long vacation or whether we fly and just do the long weekend. Neither Brian and I have ever been to DC...which is amazing because we are both political junkies.

Decisions, decisions.

Chris, I am so hoping and praying that Gary feels well enough tonight to stay out and enjoy himself.

Christmas is two days here too. We go to Dad's tonight and snack and open gifts from cousins. Then we open gifts at our house in the morning and everyone comes for a big lunch. Like to spread out the cheer!

Phylis, I love that you have kept the traditions alive. That is my job...I wonder what it will be like when Dad passes away and as nieces and nephew grow older and move away! But for now...the two day Christmas lives!

Trudy, have a very wonderful Christmas. Enjoy Skype! What a wonder the technology is that allows us to be close...even while far away!

Hi Nancy...glad that you got your shopping done quickly. Hope that your son's wisdom teeth are better. Have a very Merry Christmas.

Linda - it is a 7 hour drive from here- depending on traffic and weather, mostly main roads. Fast roads as we used to call them when the boys were young, which meant faster pace and less stop and go. He did drive. I am waiting to hear that he has arrived as he left at 7:30 this am. I kind of forced him out, if I didn't he would have left at 1 when he woke up a second or third time. Oh to be young!
