Happy Happy Monday!
Yup, it is Monday again. My weekend zoomed on by. How about yours?

The Winter Wonderland looked like it was a hit. Laney did an amazing job putting it all together. I heard there were a few bumps during the day but it seemed to go as smoothly as possible considering it was the first time we ever hosted this. I saw a ton of donations coming in. We were collecting for a local animal shelter, Toys for Tots, and a family resource center. One woman had her arms full of kids' board games and told me she had more in her car.

I was working in the Nature Craft Cabin with one of the interns and she is super sweet. We were helping the kids make wreaths out of pinecones and fir branches. The only real issue was that every time we plugged in the hot glue gun, we tripped the circuit for the space heater. And it was *cold.* Cold and damp.

Caitlyn and Tom came by with the dogs which made me happy, they took some pics with them that were super adorable. Whisky is a total butt though. She has known Lauren (coworker/boss) for years since she is one of Scott's best friends. She barks at Lauren every time she sees her. And not just a bark, but long and loud yelling. Utter ridiculousness. :/ Lauren is one of the sweetest, calmest people I know. Never heard her raise her voice, not even when we had a field trip of 100+ fourth graders. She saw Lauren and the second she recognized her, started that silly barking. So now all of my coworkers know that my dog is stupid. Hahaha!

It snowed last night and it's that heavy stuff. Gary is out there now but it's going to be my turn soon. (YUCK! I HATE SNOW! )
I hope that by the end of the day, I will be more organized and have some of the gifts wrapped. Then I can head to Amazon Prime and get the rest of what I need.

Took me a little longer than I expected to return here. I went to clear off the cars and dang, that snow was heavy. Like concrete, heavy. Blech!
On a good note, I watched two Cooper's hawks hanging out in a tree a few houses up the street from me. Yesterday, we watched two red-tails over the fire circle before the event began. That makes the cold weather worthwhile. Somewhat

@BrightEyes I get a laugh at some of the older films and the scripting/acting in them. Gary was watching Perry Mason the other day and it had that same quality.

@bcgal00 You always have so much fun, the International Films sounds like it was a neat twist on a regular day at the movies!
How did D do with the mahjong lessons?

@pachimac Oh no!!! That is awful! Even though you didn't get the plates, can you make a report, maybe someone saw it and posted it on FB like they do in my town. I am so relieved that you are ok but that is a $$$$ mess!

Good Morning!

That's not fun when the heater wont stay on because you plug something else in the outlet. But it sounds like it was a great day!!!

Heavy wet snow is the worst!!! Its so hard to push, lift or move. We have about 2" and its thankfully not that wet.

I wish I was staying home today but I promised the kid we would do Christmas shopping. Fun huh? Yeah no. But we will go. I at least get to see the chiropractor today. My hip feels out of joint so that will be nice. Might schedule for next week too right after the crazy day of pizza night at church.

Morning ladies... another quick in and out of here this morning. After another busy weekend, I am going shopping for some new clothes today. I tried to find myself some new pj's while shopping with my DH, but well you all know what its like to shop with men!! I would rather just do it on my own!! So I am late getting going and I have a few other things on my to do list to get done. I have to get a birthday card for my sister who turns 70 on the 4th of January. I won't be back home, to give it to her so I need to drop it off to her before we leave and will take her out for brunch when we have returned. So I need to hit the shower and get going. It is pouring rain here this morning, but at least its not snow!! I hope you all have a wonderful Monday stay dry and warm everyone!

Unfortunately, no. They sped off and nobody stopped to help. Thank God I was only a block and a half away from my house so I limped it home. The police say since they didn’t actually hit me that it’s not a hit-and-run. The insurance company says it’s not an uninsured driver or a hit and run because the police don’t accept it as a hit and run. So, we are kind of stuck here with a bill that’s almost $1000. I’m mad, and sick about it at the same time. We were hoping that we could limp this car through for another year before we have to buy a new one but if there is too much damage to this car we’re going to have to be a one car family again. It’s gonna be really hard because both my daughter and my husband work and it will be me driving everybody to work and picking them up.

What I hate the most about this is that we get penalized for someone being an asshole. I posted in our local Next Door and Ring app but the only responses I got is telling me I need to get a dash cam just for this reason, and people who had situations like that happen and their insurance didn’t cover it.

My random pop in. I slept until ten, and don't have much ambition yet. I hope it will come. I need to finish my gift bags - I was waiting on a delivery of adorable curling ribbon from Amazon, but now they say it got lost, so I picked some more up. I need to go through and wrap each item in tissue paper, then jazz the bags up with more tissue paper and this new curling ribbon I got. I don't like it, but it is what it is. I want to get all these bags under the tree. Darned Amazon - they've been a little "flaky" this year - Adrienne got something she didn't even order. I've gotten some things that were nothing like I thought they would be. I'm trying to return stuff and they're going back to the old-fashioned way - you have to print the return label out and return it in a box. (They didn't even come in a box). I'm so used to using that QR Code - If they start that again - GRRRRRRR

Getting off soapbox now.

Hope to come back later for personals. I have to get myself psyched up to do anything. LOL

Your post reminds me of my mom. She absolutely loved to wrap presents and ribbons and bows were her big thing but towards the end she would get these really cool bags and she would make them so beautiful with ribbons and such.

Good luck at the chiropractor! I really miss mine. When we moved here to Vegas I just couldn’t find a good one. Having had three car accidents, and none of them my fault, I am left with SI joint issues and lower back problems that chiropractic care really did help for.

Good morning ladies. I'll be getting out in a minute for a short walk with Remi. Then I'm off to the mall to find a few gifts. The 3 of us will go to the legion's bingo today at 5. The prize amounts are bigger for this special xmas bingo. Should be fun. Jen hasn't been to a bingo in many years.

Yesterday D and I played mahjong most of the afternoon/evening, until about 10:30 pm. He loved it and picked it up pretty quick. We'll practice lots over the next few wks and then when the game starts up again in January he should be ready to join in at the center on Thursdays with me.

I have to get on with my day, get everything done so I can be ready to head out at 4:30 for bingo tonight. HAGD everyone.

I'll bet they were gorgeous and made with love, Susie. I still think presentation is so important and love making my packages/bags look beautiful and festive. I used to do a lot of packages (like your mom) but now the bags are so beautiful and so much easier.

Late getting in here this morning. Managed to get my shower at a more reasonable hour (before mid-morning ). It is a beautiful sunshiny day with no wind!! It is 48*F but feels much warmer... I carried out the trash without a jacket..

DD#3 came down yesterday afternoon and we had a nice long visit. She brought me some Christmas cookies that she and her grandson (4 1/2 yrs old) made. And also brought my Christmas present. She said I could open it early if I wanted... It was a 15 pc set of snaplock-lidded plastic storage containers (small, medium and large). She had brought down some food in one last month and I had commented that I really like that style. I do a lot of cook once then store serving sizes of them in the freezer. So I can really use them

@pachimac So sorry about you being run off the road and damage to you car... What a PITA it is that the insurance won't cover the damage since the police said it was not hit-and-run!! Oh, I am so happy that you and Cheryl are going to be getting together soon. Take lots of photos and share them with us!

I placed many orders November 22, and I JUST got them. Some are still waiting and one one STILL haven't even SHIPPED!!!! Yet dont worry it could arrive today (yeah right) Amazon. I hate it so much. I would rather order from the company direct but I still get sucked into ordering. And I thought 11-22 order date would be plenty of time. Nope.

Oh I hope you can find someone. That sounds painful. I really like my chiropractor. He's gentle (as an adjustment can be) and its been amazing. I had no idea I was so out of whack until he realigned me.

@pachimac I'm so sorry to hear of your being run off the road! How frightening that must have been! And how frustrating that it falls into neither this nor that category and you won't get the help from those who are supposed to be helping. I'm glad you're ok.

@BoatLady how are you feeling after your fall?

@bcgal00 you're inspiring me to get out some games to play with the family on Christmas day. You are still the most active person I know!

Us ladies tend to push ourselves so hard all the time. It's ok to go slow, and to rest when you need to. This is a hard season for some us - be extra nice to yourself.

Us ladies tend to push ourselves so hard all the time. It's ok to go slow, and to rest when you need to. This is a hard season for some us - be extra nice to yourself.

@Cherylndesigns I am with Amy, its okay to have down days. I would worry more if you didn't have them. I think its unhealthy the pressure us women put on ourselves to be "happy" and Upbeat and "on" all the time. Take those down days, embrace them, feel them, and dont apologize to anyone for feeling them.

Well, some of you know this already, but I'm going to Vegas on Dec. 28th and returning on Jan 1st. Here's the big news - I'm going to be staying with Susie @pachimac and we're going to have SO much fun!!! My DD, SIL and 4 more friends all decided kind of last minute to go to Vegas and they invited me to go along. I don't care anything about hanging around in the casinos gambling so Susie is picking me up at the airport and we're planning on having some FUN. We'll be meeting up with the others who are traveling with us, but we kinda have our own agenda.

I can’t wait!!!!!!!!! Two crazy gals in Vegas…
