It's Day 11!

Only two more days of the Party and I feel like I missed almost all of it. :sad1: It looks like everyone is having a great time. The Day 10 Gift to the World challenge is phenomenal and uplifting. I haven't scrapped that one yet but the pages I have seen are out of this world and heartwarming. Very, very inspiring.

How was your weekend? Busy? My guess is Yes! Is there any other kind this time of year? I was hoping I could get some downtime in yesterday but it didn't happen. I got sort of organized(ish) for the upcoming week. I know what I am baking and making today and tomorrow. Hopefully, Jaida will let me do some exercises on her. We tried several times yesterday - even with me doling out training treats while Gary moved her leg- with little success. She most definitely does *not* -- super emphatically *not*- want to be stuck in the LR. We have been giving her some time to walk around the DR/LR area and when we try to get her back to her bed in the LR, she gets to the spot where the baby gate goes and refuses to take a step further. This dog is getting spoiled by the treats we are bribing her with. LOL!!

Sam's sister is getting induced today so maybe today or tomorrow we'll have news of the baby! Scott is coming for dinner tonight. Hopefully, he'll have updates for us. Caitlyn and Tom looked at an apartment yesterday and they liked it. I think they are going to put in an application. It's right around the corner from us -- 1/2 mile? 1 mile?) which would make me very happy. And they booked their photographer and I *think* the DJ too. Things are moving along. :beatingheart:

Wishing everyone a fab day!

@vickyday I hope you had a wonderful day!

@BrightEyes Hope that it is warmer today. 18* is waaaaay too cold.
Thanks for explaining what an Apple BB is. I read an article a while ago about what Crumbles/Crisps/Buckles/etc are but darned if I can keep them straight. The BB sounds delicious.
It's fun that your library has the reading Bingo and I am not surprised that you were the first person to get a prize! I love being able to talk books with my BFF so I imagine it's the same when you were chatting with the librarians.
How is it looking for your sister to come back for the holidays? I hope that her back is better so she can drive out.

@Cherylndesigns TJ MAXX aisles are the pits on a good day! Forget about the holidays and on a weekend. Yikes! You're brave to go then. Although I can see Ava just meandering around, no stress at all, in her element.
I am proud of you for not going nuts trying to put the tree up. Sounds like your house is just as festive without it. :christmastree:
It's good to hear that Chuck isn't losing weight. It might take some time for his metabolism to straighten itself out. His body is probably using a lot of energy healing itself.

@bcgal00 *fingers and toes crossed that your computer works*
I can't wait to see the photos of the new area and house, have you seen any cool wildlife yet? That's a smart idea that you get some time to relax today and help you get over that stubborn cold.

Big HUGS to you all!!!!

Good Morning!
I poured the rain yesterday! It was pretty warm most of the day and we enjoyed watching the Robins take mud puddle baths! I took some pictures but haven't moved them from the camera yet, so I'm not sure if they turned out or not.

After church, since it was raining cats and dogs, Mark chilled in front of the TV and I in front of the computer. I got a couple of challenge pages posted and some commenting, but still not as much commenting as I intended to do. I spent some of my day looking through the past couple of years of photos for some of my grandson with his girlfriend at our family gatherings. My daughter is getting a poster made for his girlfriend for Christmas.

I want to work on Day 10's challenge today. I wrote it yesterday but am not sure how I want to put it on a scrapbook page yet. I'm thinking one of Vicki Robinson's journal books but haven't decided yet.

After the rain yesterday it got a bit icy last night. Mark had to run the heater to his car while he took care of the dogs before leaving for work. It has warmed up into the 40s now and the sun is out, so I guess the rain is over.

I need to do some laundry today. My lazy butt didn't get it done this weekend.

I almost forgot to tell you. A cousin on my dad's side of the family that I have never met contacted me this weekend after doing a search of her great grandmother and the name was tagged on my blog! How cool is that! She is about 7 years older than me. We have been conversing back and forth!

Have a great day!

Morning, all. Not quite as cold this morning... 23*F... :brrr: :brrr: :brrr: But that is still COLD!!! Managed to get the DVD Inventory updated... been over 9 months since I did it! And I got the latest DVDs sorted and onto the shelves in the office bookcase. Just kept out a few on the TV stand that I want to watch right away. Spent the rest of the day bundled up in recliner reading. Ended up taking an 'unintended' nap, too. :floorlaugh:

I did manage to get Day 10 Challenge done and uploaded to galleries. And just posted the LO from Palvinka's new Winter Is Here collection this morning. Then played around in the Day 11 - Sing Along Game.... I have a lot of Christmas Songs playing in my head now!! :xmas7::xmas9::xmas3:

@faerywings Oh... I do hope that Cait and Tom get the place close to you! Sounds like wedding plans are moving along. Glad you got the baking done... or should I say 'partly done. I admire how much you do for everyone. Sorry that J is being stubborn and giving you fits about going back into the LR and her bed.

@vickyday Hope the photos of the birds playing in the rain came out clearly! Sounds like so much fun watching them. I have been watching several humming birds in the backyard this past week. They go from the trees in my backyard to the vines growing over the wall to the neighbor's tree. Plus they play in the fallen leaves. They disappear if I open the patio door so haven't been able to get photos of them.

@Cherylndesigns Sorry that your DH has not been gaining some of the loss weight back. Hope his apatite picks up. Glad that he likes the smoothies that you fix for him. I keep some Booste drinks on hand when I am not hungry. That way I know I am getting some protein.

@tanteva Hope you are feeling better now.

Need some more :coffeedrinker: then will see about getting some :laundry: done. HAGD

HA! Loved your "unintended" nap comment! Those are the best kind!
Yes, I will probably upload the bird pictures later on today. My hummers don't hang around for winter! Wish they would!

Good morning lovelies.

It's currently 42 degrees going up to 54. It's definitely "jacket weather" but that's fine by me. I have lots of cute jackets. Haha A jacket and a scarf and maybe some gloves are all I need until it gets really cold. No plans today - Adrienne's gone again :(. This time to NJ and Chris @faerywings I've been meaning to ask you what the weather is going to be for the next few days. LOL like we can't look at the weather app on our phones. Her headquarters is in NJ and what a sucky time to make all the HR and VP's come to Corporate for a big meeting. She definitely wasn't looking forward to it, especially since she just got back from NC a few days ago. It's the changing planes that sucks these days with air travel. She won't be home until the weekend because Roger's already in Florida so she's flying down there to be with him on his BD, then they'll be home. Braden and Alyssa leave Thursday for Florida - their other grandma bought them tickets to come visit her for a week. The compound is getting slim again. Ava leaves on Friday til Sunday to go away with Drake (new bf) but Aly, our "adopted daughter" who also lives in one of the rentals will be around plus Casey is only about a mile away from us now. The problem is always what to do with all the dogs. Aly is going to take care of Marley and Bailee and we'll have Lila.

Chris @faerywings that's so exciting about Cait and Tom's possibly moving around the corner from you! I'll keep ALL of my fingers crossed that they get this apartment. How cool would that be? I am trying to fatten Chuck up, but it's slow going. You told me to let you know if I scrapped the new bf - I did the chain scraplift using pics that Ava took of his family. She set her camera on timer and got in one of them. LOL They're all Cherokee and I am intrigued by his grandpa. Here's the link to the LO: https://oscraps.com/community/media/day-9-chain-scraplift-challenge.386519/. Here are a couple of other pictures that I especially like of the two of them. They're selfies and Drake really looks cute in them. I wasn't thrilled with the pics I took; it was getting too dark. I'll probably blend them out and they'll be fine.

Ava-and-Drake-Web.jpgava-and-drake-5k.jpg

I agree about the aisles at TJMaxx - they aren't big enough for two carts to pass! Drives me nuts.

Kay @BrightEyes thanks for asking about Chuck. He's doing very little, but that's okay. That's what I'm here for - to help him out as much as I can. I don't like to be gone for very long, so we take it in smallish chunks when we do go out. He really likes the strawberry Boost and I'm glad you keep it too. It's very nutritious and has a lot of protein in it among other things. The Visiting Nurse was extremely happy when I told her all the ingredients I was putting in his smoothies. I hope it warms up a little bit there and glad that you got your video files in order again. You must be thrilled with that. I know you've been working on them for awhile now.

I'm going to have to go and maybe come back and do some personals later. Hugs to everybody @vickiday @bcgal00 @tanteva @taxed4ever :hug4:

Morning ladies... It was another busy weekend for my Gary and myself and it seems like we spent most of it shopping and spending way too much $$ . However I do believe that my Christmas shopping is officially done!! It is just a matter of getting a few cards out in the mail this week. Today is our son Jason's 45th birthday today, how the heck did that happen?? I am looking forward to a nice long face time chat with him this evening! Miss his smiling face and how he always has been able to make me laugh :lovey3:. Wish I could give him a big hug and just spend the day with him!! :brokenheart:. Today I will finish laundry and cleaning as none of that got completed over the weekend. I have not been able to spend much time here at the O either, life is just too busy right now and my time is being spent trying to complete my calendar and get my cards finished. I hope to catch up with everything within the next couple of weeks, when the pressure of getting things done is over and done with! Seems each year it becomes more of a bother to get ready for Christmas and that is not how it should be right?!! I think I am becoming more of a Scrooge every year :ignore1:please ignore my ranting LOL.

@faerywings - Sounds like Jaida is giving you a run for your money trying to keep her from hurting herself, hope she behaves better for you soon! I hope that Caitlyn and Tom are able to get the apartment, it would be so nice and close to you!! The wedding plans are all coming together, how nice! When is the big day again?? I have a memory like a sieve for dates :giggle4:. You are very busy with your baking etc. I am amazed at all that you do for your family!!

@vickyday - How fun to watch the robins bath in the puddles! We are lucky to have the hummers here all winter, which reminds me I must go and check to see if I have to fill the feeder. Glad that the rain has stopped for you and hope that you are feeling much better today, no headache and no tummy issues!! Good for you for doing so much scrapping for the 12 Days and getting commenting done, I have been shamefully bad for not doing either!

@BrightEyes - Still chilly where you are! We are having unusually warm weather right now for December. Have fun with the Christmas party here and enjoy all of those DVD's that you got all put in order! Hope everyone returns back to the complex all safe and sound!

Ok Heather will be calling to chat very soon and then I will be busy with housework and laundry and card making. I hope you all have a lovely day! :xmas-sheep:

@tanteva - Nice to hear that you are feeling a bit better, but sounds like you still have some respiratory issues going on! Hope that clears up for you very soon!

@Cherylndesigns - Ohhh love the photos of the new boyfriend! Such a good looking couple! Sounds like everyone is very busy where you live, not a great time of the year to have to travel for work though! You are taking very good care of your Chuck! Nice to know that nurse thinks that you are also!

I am the same, Trudy! I don't have a single winter/Christmas decoration up and I'm not going to! No one comes to the house and my family won't be celebrating until January, so I don't want the bother of putting it all out. BAH! HUMBUG!! ;)
I'm feeling much better, tummy and headache wise! I just spent too much time commenting in the gallery, so I'm going to have to put my wrist brace on and chill for the rest of the day! Aggravating!

Good morning ladies. Finally got the internet working on the PC. So far the error message hasn't come up so, fingers crossed. I will leave the computer until later today or tomorrow to start plugging in EHDs b/c if the error message comes back, I don't want anything different to have been done so we can troubleshoot. I have a few local guys ready to help out if needed. One of them has a small local computer biz and does house calls.

Yesterday, Jen and I popped into our local Winners. It is a small one but still had a lot of great stuff and if I need to, I can get to the big Winners/Home Sense in 20 minutes.

I hope to be back scrapping in the next few days (part time) as I take breaks from unpacking and organizing. I do miss it.

I think I'll book my hair appt this week. Need to shorten the hair up a bit, wearing winter hats out here wrecks my hair so need to keep it nice and short. Here's my kitchen, I'm down to 3 boxes and done. Then I need to move onto the dining room, then upstairs into the bedroom, dressing room and bonus room. I feel really good about the progress we've made.

I sent an email in this morning to a lighting company that installs custom outdoor lights and they came out a few hours later to look at the size and peaks of the house. Wow, that was quick (sure not like Kamloops LOL). I hope the pricing will fit our budget, I know it won't be cheap but it would be so nice to have year round custom lighting that we can adjust on an app. No more having to put up/take down Xmas lights, will have so many choices for other holiday lighting and spotlights for the yard. Fingers crossed it is a price we can agree on. Everyone out here has been raving about the company and what a great job they do.

@faerywings Hope you get lots of baking done and fingers crossed for the kids getting the place close to you.
@taxed4ever and @vickyday I'm with you, every year I want to do less and less holiday decorating.

I'd better get dressed and get back to unpacking. It's exhausting work but the more we get done, the more settled we feel.

HAGD everyone.
