Good morning! How was everyone's weekend? I hope that is was perfect! The weather was nice here, and we didn't need the AC on at all. It has actually been pretty cool overnight. Weirdest summer weather than I can remember. Although that is not saying much the way my brain works.ha!!!

Today is a special one for two lovely O-zies
Sandrine ... Enjoy your day !
Happy birthday Jopke

Happy Birthday to both of you!

Nothing going on here for me other than call a dr for Cait, and then my LLMD, and infuse abx... same old, same old. Scott is having some friends over today that haven't been here before and while he is cleaning upstairs, I need to at least vacuum down here.

QOTD Yesterday was Sisters Day. I don't have a sister by blood by I do have one Of Heart. I know that Nancy has a sister and it makes me happy to hear how much fun they have together. Jean too.
Do you have a sister and/or brother? Are you alike or very different?

My BFF and I are very different in many ways, but we actually love that. We are the same at the core but approach things differently we can speak freely without getting mad or emotional. She can tell me things that I don't want to hear but I know it comes from love.
My brother and I are pretty close now. We didn't get along *at all* until we were both in college. He was the straight-laced, conservative, Italian male, where I was the hippie dippie even way back then.:)
I don't see either of them as much as I would like, but I talk/email/text them both often.

I swam a MILE today!!!!!!!!

By the time I'd finished 25 laps, I was still cruisin' so I thought, "just 11 more, and it's a mile!" So I kept on. It's not going to be happening on a regular basis because it just takes too much time. I don't have 2 hours to spend at the pool most days. But today all I had to come home to was laundry. And of course, a wonderful new round of challenges.

DD has sent more puppy pictures than I EVER got of grandchildren! LOL She certainly is enamored...already teaching Luna tricks. The hardest one, of course, being "potty" training.

Jean, your ancestor-mining is paying off. There sure are a lot of interesting (strange?) stories out there.

Glad you're having some good NJ weather. I felt bad for all the Blue Angels fans yesterday. We've had two months of clear blue sky, and although it was still very warm yesterday, there was an overcast sky. The BAs still perform a "low ceiling" show, but it's not as much fun as the blue sky show.

OH! My other "big news" is that I won the Marisol AG doll I was bidding on (the 2nd one). The seller seems very nice, and I was notified the doll should be here Saturday. Sure hope there are no glitches this time. I looked up the seller's number from the previous-gone-bad transaction. It's not even listed any more. I never will figure out why people do stuff like that (& hacking for the sake of hacking & launching viruses, etc.) Where is the thrill?????????? :frusty:

Chris, hope Scott has a good time with his friends. Love how they are interested in clean when THEIR friends are coming!

good late morning - I am back from my weekend up north. My DIL invited me to spend the weekend up in Lake George area. We actually stayed at the Sagamore (a resort on its own island) off the city of Bolton Landing. OMgosh it was so fun. We drove up on Sat early so we could stop at Fort Ticonderoga and explore it. For those reading "Outland" I think the last book the Fraser's are included in a battle at the Fort so seeing it in person was really cool. They also had folks dressed up and able to talk about clothing, weapons and they had a French drum and fife corps perform. It is privately owned so could not use my Parks pass. Was bummed. LOL. The we went to the Sagamore. OMgosh what fun. 3 huge pools, a beach and dock with tons of chairs. Five restaurants and we enjoyed them. Then on Sunday we went to a Natural Stone bridge and hike along the a small stream. Great photo pops. Came back to hotel and to a boat ride on Lake George. That Lake is just amazingly big! Great photo opps every where. Sunday night we splurged and at the the Grill which is the restaurant on the golf course. OMgosh it was so good and we ate everything. And now today I have my yearly physical and have to be weighed. Yikes. Got up early this morning and drove back and made in back to my house in 4 hrs. I had a pit stop and gas stop and do not speed too much. So glad to be home and now I have fun photos to again scrap. I have to say driving by myself was a new experience, (Amanda is able to stay an extra day) but I loved it in that I made play lists on my phone and the sang my way north and then home. It was awesome not to have some one else saying it was too loud, they don't like that music or just turn it off.

Chris so sorry that your PICC line really got infected. Glad you are getting better! Funny as Sharon said they your kids and mine take cleaning seriously when their friends are coming over. Your going to the party and talking to your mom sounds like your spirits were lifted! Good girl. I found I really like frozen margaritas.

Sharon love the finally she walks page! They must be so happy! Congrats on the mile swim. So are you saying your increased swimming is not translating into not being tired after baby sitting Clara and the brothers? But really congrats on your milestone! Love the Luna page too. We had a hamster named Luna as she had a crescent on her forehead.

Jean love that you are finding out so much info about your ancestors. That must be fun and rewarding.

QOTD - Yes I love my sister and we have such fun. It was not always the case. I was the favorite and used to her disadvantage. We talked it all out and it was a parental problem that we could not fight until we left home and away from them. Once we had a great talk it had been so awesome!

Hey Ladies.... Heading to the River to swim and take care of Mason while his Mom and Dad tube down to Little Beach. A beauty of a spot on the Cowichan River!
Here is a layout of it I did a long time ago.
Tubingsm.jpg

It is going to be another scorcher of a day and hopefully not too many on the river now that the long weekend is coming to a close and all are headed home! I only have three more days with my DD and her lovely family  but it will be nice to be back to normal and to get my house organized again. It will be a sad day on Friday when all have left and the house is quiet again. Hoping that you are all doing well and enjoying the summer!!

Another nice day!! But the roofers never showed up for work we contracted ages ago. Thanks for the nice comments about ancestor hunting! Hope I can do her justice. Sharron commented on the fun I had with cows in Oklahoma, Well, when we got there I told my BIL I wanted photos of beeves, old cars, and horses. I only just got the last two, but lots and lots of cows. Afraid you'll be seeing more of them too.

Chris, hope the day is easy and not too much cleaning for you. Hope it's sunny and nice.

Sharron!!! Congrats on the mile. That is a wonderful accomplishment (we do remember when you first started out ;) ) and the LO is beautiful. About the eBay problem. Sometimes it isn't malicious, but just life happening. I had that once with an independent book seller through Amazon. Don't know what happened to the person, but something did and didn't continue what had been a reliable service. Full refund from Amazon too. So glad you won this one and I'm sure you'll have the doll this time.

Nancy, your weekend sounds delightful and I'm looking forward to all your new LOs with them.

QOTD: Funny about sisters as I say I'm an only child, with a brother and sister. They are 12 and 13 years older and were out of the house when I was a kid. We're not close and didn't do things together until my sister became a widow who couldn't drive. She and I are a lot alike in many ways though and get along but don't share the same main interests.

Have a good day, Ozzies! :bounce:
