Yup, it's Monday:
If you are wondering, my mood has improved since yesterday morning. Dirt therapy helped a lot. I saw a few small toads and one that was possibly TJ. TJ-sized and color for sure. Unfortunately, I found more yellow jackets that were chipping holes in the foundation of the house. The ones in the siding up front are still getting in the house, Gary had to catch three of them buzzing around at dinner. It's a never-ending battle with them.
I spoke to my mom about the dress and we changed our plans. We were going to get together on Tuesday to look for some clothes for her when we go down the shore in a few weeks. Instead, I am going to bring the dress to the bridal shop near her and see if they can take a look at it. She had me laughing. She approaches problems differently than I do. She likes to throw everything she can at the issue. Then she steps back and throws some more. That makes my head spin. I do much better if I can focus on one idea at a time even if I struggle with picking the "one." She had suggested about 10 different solutions/options and I kept saying that we don't even know if we *need* solutions. hahahah! Caitlyn thinks that it will look fine and hopes that I keep it. Nothing I can do about it today so it gets shoved to the back of my mind for now.
The big concern for today is trying to get an appt for the rats this morning. Or anytime today *fingers crossed* I am doing it for Caitlyn since she can't take off any day this week or next because it is Move-In Week and the start of classes, it is Blackout Dasy for advisors. Badger has another lump she wants checked out but Otter is the one she is most concerned about. Over the weekend, Otter started having trouble with the left side of her body, not having strength in her left hand and leg and some slight vision trouble. In humans I would think stroke, but in rats, more likely a brain tumor. Maybe? I hope that she'll be able to call to make the appt so she can explain exactly what is going on but if not, she wrote up a detailed list and sent me photos to show the vet. Poor baby
Because of that, I don't know what I am doing today but if I can, I'll head to the library for CC. They won't be open next Monday for Labor Day and I want to keep going. If I miss 2 weeks in a row, I know I'll find excuses to stop going.
Today, I am grateful that I have a mother who is supportive and engaged. ♥
