Why oh why do I always feel so darn lazy??? It is after 8 and I have done nothing except drink coffee and read the news. The coffee part is fine but the news is just more of the same old stuff. Depressing.
It is a hot and humid day here and looks to be this way all week. All of my good weather thoughts are directed to the Gulf Coast, my goodness- *two* hurricanes to deal with. 2020 is non-stop.

Have you seen the "joke" flying around the internet yet?
A guy walks into a bar in New Orleans and asks for a Corona and two Hurricanes. The bartender serves him and says that will be $20.20.

ba-duh-pum :drum:

So hmmm, what did I do yesterday? I yelled at the ShopRite website. A lot. The traffic on Sundays must be too much because whenever I try to finalize the order it runs so slowly and then I get stuck on the Cart page and it boots me when I try to check out which means I lose all of the changes I made. I should really try to get pick-ups on Tuesdays so I can have Mondays to fight with the website.
I scrapped a page for an upcoming Challenge using some photos of Christopher my SIL sent me. One page of his book is done, 19 more to go. hehehe!

I don't think I did much of anything else. I didn't make it outside but hope to do that today. I wasn't even in the mood to pull weeds.
Oh, one thing I did was have a massive allergic reaction to the rats. Cait and were playing with them and I reached over to give Evvie a little kiss and of course she wanted nothing to do with me. She pushed me away and I got a teeny cut on my lip which then swelled up. Livvie was on my shoulder and lost her balance. Her tail caught me under my eyebrow which made my eyelid swell. After that I had to take some Allegra and get in the shower. LOL

I am off to pick up groceries up the mountain this morning and then some yard work this afternoon.

Wishing everyone a fun day ahead

Jean- That drawing came out amazing!!! It has a "crinkly" Autumn feel to it. Love the colors! I was layered up last week too.
It sounds like you and Dick have had a good time getting out and about a bit to see the birds. Are they starting to migrate yet?
The chicken and ginger/Lime sounds really delish! I bought some brown jasmine rice that was on sale last week and that would probably work nicely with it. I still haven't used any of that ginger yet. Do you think I could freeze any of it?

Kay- you look amazing! Love the haircut!!
I can't imagine staying up that late anymore reading. I even had a dream last night that I was at Disney and everyone wanted to stay up and I was angry b/c I wanted to go to sleep. I can't even stay awake in my dream. LOL
Your dinner sounds like it was a good choice for a Queen. *g*
I am keeping my fingers crossed for your sister and cousin for good health and calm weather. Cooler weather for you too.

xoxo

DH is doing H&S right now and we'll do groceries after. It has warmed up and gotten humid so it's still summer.

Chris, thanks for looking at the drawing. It feels so good to have actually gotten one done. As to the ginger, I'm pretty sure in the past I did freeze some. Good luck with the groceries today. Sure hope you don't have another allergy reaction.

Kay, you look so much cooler with the short hair. Bet you're happy with it.

Have a good one!

Morning everyone! It is a lovely sunny day but still on the cooler side. Hopefully the temps will be warmer by the afternoon. I am hearing the geese fly overhead, guess they are starting to get ready to head to other places soon. Yesterday was busy with lots of housework and getting supper ready for my brother and his wife, who arrived in the afternoon. We had a great visit sitting out on the front deck and enjoyed some of the wine that we purchased over the past few weekends. I made spaghetti, which I haven't done for god knows how long. I had the sauce on zucchini noodles while the others enjoyed their pasta. Cesar Salad and garlic bread, but I did not eat the bread. It was delicious and everyone enjoyed some Keto Chocolate Ice Cream for desert. It was good to see my brother and SIL once again, they have been keeping mostly to themselves and so they were very happy to see us face to face again LOL. They recently purchased E-bikes and have been doing the TransCanada trails with them. I would love to do that too, but not sure we can afford that kind of purchase right now. Anyway I have face timed with Heather and the Boys already and they are all doing well, enjoying some nice weather and they had a fun weekend together! Not sure what I will try to get accomplished today, we will see what the day brings, but hopefully I will get outside for a bit and go for a walk.

Chris - Ugh on the reaction to the rats!! Guess you won't be giving out too many kisses anymore. Sorry you are still having difficulty with the shopping online it must be so frustrating :frusty: I hope that Cait is able to do a collaboration with her friends, that sounds like it would be fun! I look forward to seeing what they come up with! Heather says that school is a go for Mason, but she still hasn't heard about what will happen with Hunter. No word yet as to when Mason will start as they are figuring out staggered start dates for his age group. They have never had a single case of COVID in her town, so she feeling a bit less nervous about him going back to school. I hope you are able to be outside in the sun today, I have plenty of weeds that need to be taken care of and sure wish you could come and help me out with that LOL.

Jean - How nice that you and your DH are getting out and about, enjoying some birding and some nicer weather! You drawing is awesome! I really need to get back to my painting again too, its seems I have no desire these days. Hope the humidity is not too high today and that you get what is needed from the grocery store!

Kay - Ohhh loving the new haircut and AVI. you look great! Also keeping my fingers crossed for good health to your sister and your cousin! Hope you have a lovely day!

I better go get into the shower and get on with this day! Last night the dishwasher woke us up at 2am!!!! It was beeping loudly for a long time, so we both jumped out of bed to see what the heck was going on. I think that we might have overfilled it with dishes and the second shelf was pushing against the door, so it was confused as to whether it was finished or not. Of course it took both of us forever to get back to sleep. DH had to get up at 5:30 for work, so he will be grumpy and sleepy when he gets home today. I am tired too, but at least I can lay down for a nap if I need to. Have a great Monday everyone!

Hi dears!
What a messy day, at the end I'm satisfied from myself, but I can't cross any of my today's task as nothing wasn't fully completed. Every time I start doing something the circumstances tried to spoil it. I started to wash cabinets just to find after the first bucket, that we don't have water (some reconstruction down the street), I have to jump few points down at my list, as first tasks was water needed. Start to sweep and don't know the word but get blankets out and shake them. Just to see its get cloudy, so immediately I moved to use the cooling and get rid from the weeded grass. It has around 15 middle sized bags, I had to bring to big garbage can at the end of my street, not too away (2 house down), but still not pleasant at hot weather. It was left me one bag when start rain. I had to run around and catch and bring my cats in, as they was just laying under the rain. When they was in and I was wet, of course rain stop after 10-15 minutes. So it was just half hour rain, but after it I can not mowing grass as my machine is electric and it's not smart to use cables at wet grass. At this time I was too tired and confused from where to continue, so left the list for tomorrow.

Chris, I'm used to the idea that we have different style of living when I see some of you said things like: "It is after 8 and I have done nothing except" LOL, I barely wake up at 8am, usually I stay at least to midnight, and as Kay is described it yesterday, in my country diners reservation are usually 7-9 PM. For your home diners we comply with my dad, who work at the capital, and traveling back home takes him until 7pm. But I have friend who just like you prefer to eat early, because insist this is more healthy. I don't mind, but it's just too hot outside, so it's not much pleasant to sit and eat inside. Oh, so bad about the rats mischievous, hope you're better now and will can play with them again. Definitely try other day for food shop site use!

Jean, so happy to see your posts! And this drawing is so pretty! Ooh, what a cute cat story! I have cats that never hunt, usually these that are been fed with dry food from babies. But then there is still monsters as my Hunter, who break my theory. I'm feeding her from baby, but she still hunt, handsome devil! Hope chipmunks are survived! I handed the rubs from you to my cats.

Kay, the new haircut is awesome! I really like this pixie style a lot! Nice to hear that your sis is light case! Hope everything will be find and they will recover fast! I'll have to check did Karen Rose is been translated here as you sounds really enjoying it.

Trudy, sounds as a lovely family meeting! Ooo, will be so cool to make TransCanada trails! Hope to find way to get bike! For when they plan this trip?

good late day - hockey games have been really good. Good thing I don't predict which team wins as I would have been terrible. But to me that just means more games. I do feel bad for the Colorado Avalanche as they have lost their goalie and defensemen to injuries. Never good to lose your top goalie. But Trudy's team the Boston Bruins had their top goalie leave the bubble and their next goalie up is doing a great job. I am sure that Trudy and her MG were happy yesterday. Got in a good early day walk and then I had a very low key day. My hockey games end late and so I am up until midnight. I took a good nap today.

Chris my son and his MG are now not having many problems with ordering sure hope your store gets it figured out. Cait's little hammocks are so cute. My DH went in to work today to get so stuff figured out which should be done in person. He needs to check out the rooms and labs as he is the chair. He starts the Tuesday after Labor Day.

Trudy how nice to have a great visit with brother and SIL. Your dinner sounds yummy. I have read about E-bikes but with the speed they can go I would be a bit afraid but I sure would love the extra help going up hills. I bet they are having so much fun! That is awesome that your daughter's town has had not any positives tests. I would not worry then either. It is interesting here in a near by town the Board of Ed is requiring the teachers to come to the school to teach but the students are having to learn from home. I guess that is one way to do it. How though does a teacher go in to teach if they have kids at home trying to learn? I am so glad that I don't have to go through this but I so feel for those parents.

Kay I love the hair cut and the new AVI. Hope you had a nice family conversation. It is so terrible with all the fires and the smoke. Such a bummer with the heat and the smell. I know what you mean about having to read a book all the way through. They are addicting. Hope you can take a nap! You dinner sounds so good.

Felis that is awesome that you have heard that song. It really is good. Wow dinner at 8pm I am like Chris I eat between 5-6 pm. And yes it is getting dark way to early. Sorry about the list but the thing is it will be there the next day. I went for a walk and I heard the rain coming. It was one of those weird storms where it rains on one side of the street and not the other. I just waited it out as I could see lots of blue sky!

Jean glad you had some nice weather. Bet it is nice to hear your DH playing with his band. Hope grocery shopping was easy and you found every thing.

Waving
Have a great day all!
