Wow, we are going through August so fast! 3 weeks in already. SMH!! It is also Solar Eclipse Day in North America. I know that Nancy is down in South Carolina (IIRC) to get a great view of it. We aren't supposed to get all that much- 70% eclipse, I think, in NJ. I guess with everything that has been going bonkers in my universe, I hadn't made much to the outer Universe but maybe I should. My next door neighbor gave me a pinhole viewer that they had made so I think maybe I should go and check it out.

I got a little bit of this and that done yesterday. I scrubbed my kitchen and dusted the LR and DR. Went out for an hour to do a bit of weeding and train the morning glory vines around the fence posts. Worked a little bit more on my Sept Challenge for here.

Today I have to finish prepping for food shopping tomorrow. I was going to go today but Mondays are the worst time to go since everything is all picked over.

And MoS-ers-have you seen the new challenges? :faint2: I should just give up now. hahaha!!!!

Have a very happy day!

Rae- the weather is really so cold here overnight too. My feet are freezing and I am wrapped in a blanket. Your photography club trip sounds relaxing and interesting. Did you get any good photots? The coneflowers that I planted the other day had 2-3 bees on each of them. yay! I should try and get some pictures of them. Gary has taken some more photos of the mushroom/faery ring we have going. The mushrooms themselves are enormous- the size of a dinner plate. Last month we had one section of a ring, now we have the other half.
Were you able to squeeze in some time to read your new book?

Jean- I was reading an article this morning about how you should focus on some of the things around the eclipse as well as the eclipse itself- such as shadows. Great reminder for all of us!

xoxo

Quick "Hi!" to all. Looking forward to the eclipse this afternoon. We'll get about 80% coverage, enough to be interesting I think. Hopefully it won't be cloudy.

Chris, the bees in the coneflowers sound great. Do try to get photos. Love them both (flowers and bees).

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning, ladies. It's the start of my super busy work wk doing double the work as the other typist is away on holidays. It's going to be a long week but its good to make a little extra money, so no complaints.

I had a wonderful time at a park in Vancouver last evening. I was late getting there so missed meeting up with the photography group but had a great time just wandering around by myself. I did run into one of the women so we chatted for awhile and hung out but then I carried on by myself. Before I knew it, 2½ hours had gone by and it was getting dark, plus had to grab some dinner to take home. Here's a shot of one of the flower beds. The park is so picturesque.

Chris - the mushrooms sound interesting and should be fun to photograph. You should scrap a page about them. Yes, I did start Lilac Girls and am enjoying it so far.

Jean, Trudy, Nancy (enjoy seeing the eclipse) - hope you are all having a wonderful day.

I'm getting to work now. Already tons of files are coming thru to me. Talk to you all later.

Hi ladies... a bit late arriving here this morning. Watching live coverage of the solar eclipse on global news, we will see an 90% coverage here so a bit more than the rest of Canada. DH phoned to remind me to not look at it LOL he is worried about my vision. He will be stuck in his office at work, so he will have to watch the news tonight to see what it was like. So many fake glasses out there to watch the eclipse, so I figured I would not risk it. Hope everyone else is going to get a good look at the eclipse, especially you Nancy!! We had a fabulous visit with grands and Jason and Jackie. A beautiful sail on Saturday and wonderful hike to Nymph Falls on Sunday. I will have to get a page done with those photos for sure!

Chris - Yes it is scary how quickly August is flying by!! Soon September will be upon us and the chilly evenings  I hope that you are able to get some more dirt therapy in today, how awesome that the bees are already attracted to your new cone flowers! Enjoy the eclipse, keep your eyes safe!!

Jean - I hope you had clear skies for viewing the eclipse today! It was clear skies here and pretty cool to see the shadows turn the house dark for a minutes and still see the clear blue sky outside.

Rae - Wow what a great photo! Wait until you see the Butchart Gardens, they are truly amazing and so many photo opportunities! Hope you don't get too bogged down with work this week. I hope you are able to watch the eclipse at least online if not from your house.

Well this got posted even later than I thought it would as DD face-timed with me and I got to see and talk with her and Hunter for a bit. Tomorrow hopefully I will get to see Mason as he will be home from school. Starting to look into flights for them to come home for Christmas, but if for some reason they are unable to get out here, then I will go back for another visit. Who knows maybe to help them move into a larger home, as they are continually looking into that possibility. Anyway, tomorrow I will be going up to my sister's place (the one with the B&B to visit with her and a Cousin that I have not seen for years, they are both very involved with the family history right now, so I will be catching up on all of that info I suppose! Should be an interesting visit, perhaps I will get a swim in too as my sister has lakefront property. I hope you all have an amazing day!!
