Well, I guess I was officially back yesterday, but had no time to log on. We got home around 3pm, and I somehow got sorta mostly unpacked.

We had a nice time, the checklist of things to do all got done. Leah's mom was able to come up Sat-Sun and that was really nice.

But now, real life awaits and I have to get into the shower so we can drop Cait's car off for the brakes to get done.

I will be back to catch up as beat as I can later. I have to do my freakishly long IV today so I will be chained up inside.

Hugs and love and more hugs to all of you!!!!

Good am! Yesterday our visiting dog did not like our lack of AC and he did not like the lack of his mistress. He did not eat so he made himself sick on our carpet LOL. I never wonder why I don't have a dog. So once we turned on the air and I sat out in the TV room with him to cool him off and then his mistress came home and he ate and he was like his own self. Too funny. Next time I am going to make her FaceTime with him so he perhaps will eat! He loves to go outside and play fetch. I did get in a good walk early so that was good. My DH prepared dinner a thirsty bird and baked beans. Yummy! Now we have left overs so that is even better since we are to have temps in the 90s.

Chris welcome back. Today is a good day to be chained inside! Glad your time away was so good.

Sharron that thank you was so sweet. Your page was so delightful. I love pages that touch my heart. I have two sons so it was just lovely to see your page. And I love leaving comments on pages. Note I now used two 'r's.

Trudy I hope your absence was not due to fires!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Monday Morning ladies... It is sunny and clear here today, the smoke from the fires has finally moved off in another direction. Still the fire grows at Lizard Lake, but it is really not posing a threat to us here as it seems to be moving more into the remote areas. It is only 20% contained and they are putting more firefighters on it. Hopefully it will be out in the next few days. While Vancouver and some other areas got a downpour of rain on Fri/Sat we did not get one single drop of moisture and this week they are calling for straight sunshine and warm temps with no moisture in sight. It is scary dry here, WE NEED RAIN!!!

Chris - Nice to see you back here! Glad that things went smoothly and all things on your checklist are ticked off! Hope you enjoyed your time and that you got to relax a bit too! Ugh on being trapped inside today, hope your IV does not keep you from enjoying the day!

Nancy - Oh dear, that is too bad about the dog getting sick! They are funny about missing their owners, just like little kids! Next time if there is a next time you will have to have them leave a leash for you to take the dog for a walk. Your thirsty bird sound good, but I am not sure what a thirsty bird is?? I tried a new recipe for cauliflower yesterday and oh my it was delicious!! Its a keeper for sure !

You won't believe it's low carb!!!

Ingredients:
1 large head of Cauliflower cut into bite size pieces (approx 6 cups)
6-8 strips of bacon cooked and crumbled (Cooked in oven at 400° for 20 mins)
6 Tbs chopped Chives
1/2 cup Mayonnaise
1/2 cup Sour Cream
2 cups Colby Jack Cheese ( may use cheddar)
8 oz container sliced mushrooms (I don't use mushrooms in mine)(optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 425°
In a large pot boil water and cook Cauliflower for 8 - 10 minutes, drain and let cool. (I use a steamer instead)
In a large bowl combine sour cream, mayo, 1/2 of crumbled bacon, 3 tbs chives, 1 cups of cheese, mushrooms and cauliflower and mix well... place in baking dish and cover with remaining 1 cup of cheese and rest of bacon crumbles. Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted. top with remaining 3 T chives and serve. (I did not use chives, I don't like them)
ENJOY!!!!

Sharron - I too have to apologize for spelling your name incorrectly for all this time! I hope that you are enjoying a nice sunny warm day and that you are having fun scrapping today also!

Well I got all of my housework and :washing: done yesterday, so today is a scrapping day. Then I need to get beds made up as my Son and Grandkids are joining us for a week, HOORAY!! I get to be Grandma again!! Looking forward to spending some quality time with them all as last visit was such a rush and we did not have too much time together. Sadly I can't get back to swimming until September, the pool is closed for Maintenance and many are upset that they will be using valuable water to fill up the pools again when they are done. Hope your Monday is Marvellous!!

Whew. The earth is back on its axis....CHRIS IS BACK! :D Sounds like a nice getaway. Hope Real Life isn't too horrible by comparison (it usually is after being away).

Nancy, pet messes are one reason we also do not have a dog, but mostly it is because we travel too much. I remember thinking, though, about a week after the Cat of My Heart died, "It has been a week since I had to clean up any kind of pet mess!" hmmmm.... What is Thirsty Bird?

No worries on spelling my name correctly. Obviously, my own mother didn't! Seriously, she thought it was with 2 r's when she put it on the birth certificate! I never fuss about it being spelled incorrectly. It sounds the same, so if someone is calling me to dinner, I respond no matter how they think they are spelling it! ;) But when someone needs to know my name (like at the dentist's office) I have to say "Sharron, with 2 r's, Lamb with a b." There are so many Lam's that without the b is the norm these days in our area. Think of my poor DDIL...Kim Lynn Lamb. LOL Kim Lam would be a pretty common Asian name, and she is German!

Trudy, I'm copying that cauliflower recipe. It sounds YUMMY! Sure hope your fires abate soon. I haven't checked ours. DH and I are heading over to the Palouse for a few days next week (golf and harvest photos), but I guess I should check on fires before we head out! Glad you have some Grandma Time coming. Sorry your pool is shut down. I have decided to just swim 18 laps at a time. It takes me about an hour. Instead of increasing the number, I'm trying to push myself to a faster pace with some of the laps.

I think my Utah grandkids start school today. The 4.5-year old will be starting preschool 3 mornings a week, so DD will have just the littlest guy at home those mornings.

Time to switch laundry around.

I'm feeling the heat today but have things to do in the house anyway.

Chris, welcome back. Hope your IV today still lets you do indoor things. Glad it was a good time away.

Nancy, I sure don't envy having a dog. But having DH cook sounds very good.

Trudy, glad the fire isn't coming your direction today, but sure hope it gets put out soon. How nice you're getting more Grandma time!

Sharron, well I admit to confusion on the r's too, but I saw you sign it a little bit ago so finally knew which it was. Sounds like you have a good sense of humor about it - and your DDIL's too! I think your swimming idea sounds good.

Did you miss me and my never ending complaints? We decided to not bring Cait's car in today, there was just way too much going on and it is not like we had an appt anyway :noidea: We will drop it off tomorrow and then head back and go food shopping wheee!
Caits car is still under the dealer warranty so the place that we need to go to is about 20 min's away so it is a bit of a pain, but if it is less expensive, I am good with that. It worked out too, since I was here when Cait woke up. The hives are still so bad, so I was able to find an allergist about 45 mins away, in her plan. The appt is Thursday which will make 90% of my day be filed under "Medical." Lyme appt for Gary and I, then the allergist for her-- of course in opposite directions.
Poor kid- these hives/welts are horrible. They were not as bad in PA but still pretty bad.

I am hooked up to my iv right now and wanted to come by and give you all big hugs!!!
By the time I worked on laundry, washed dishes, and got m
