Iy yi yi- whatta weekend :(
Nothing major happened with me but I was glued to Twitter as things went down in Charlottesville. I had been following some of the threads Friday night with that "torch rally" and then when I got home from the hospital. I was tagging stuff in ACDSee on the one monitor and had Twitter on the second when everything exploded online. It left me astounded. The craziest thing was that the first video that had come on my feed was of an "Alt-Right" woman walking through the peaceful protesters, saying how the Left (as if being anti-white supremacist is "Left"???) is the one who is intolerant when you see the car just plowing through the crowd. Freaking ironic understatement.
I know that everyone here knows how I feel about DT so I will not say anything about that. :tape:

Yesterday, I decided that I was going to go out back with my weeds and dirt and worms-- and a small slug too. We have had a crazy amount of toads hopping around too, they are all are so cute. I love talking to my wildlife.

I have to go food shopping today and then I am heading down to my mom's later this afternoon. I am having dinner with them and tomorrow I am going down the shore with my brother and Christopher for the day. Just to hang out on the Boardwalk. He likes to play the games and ride the rides. No beach, but at least I will be able to hear and smell the ocean.

If I have time, I would like to get one of the MoS LOs started. The 2 challenges this week are going to be next to impossible for me, 110% out of my comfort zone. And I thought that Minimalist was hard.

Hoping that everyone has a wonderful Monday.
Love one another!!

Oh so, yeah-- my MRIs went fine, just boring having to stay still for so long. They were able to do the Brain and Spine at the same time so the techs loaded me up with gear. I had a plastic headpiece that covered my face and then what felt like body armor across my chest/abdomen. I told the Tech that I felt a bit Hannibal Lector-y as they were rolling me into the tube :pound:

Nancy- hahaha!!! I shouldn't laugh at the Charles/Luther story but that is too funny! Like kids at Christmas- are you awake? *poke* Are you AWAKE?? *poke* LOL
Raccoons and squirrels- they can get into any food. I told the kids to lock all food in the car but the cabin was perfect and had locks.
Congrats to your girlfriend!!!! Babies are so wonderful! A bunch of TV shows we have watched recently had newborns involved. Makes me happy and nostalgic at the same time. Glad that I don't have to wake up with one at all hours of the night, however. *grins*

Rae- it must be such a nice way to start your morning looking at the hummingbirds. what a nice time you had at the Open House seeing old friends. What is that book about?
We watched Orphan Black and Turn last night- both Series Finales. I am going to miss OB so much, that was such a fantastic show.

Trudy- what a nice family gathering even though it must be hard seeing your aunt and uncle not in good health.
Hope that you got lots and lots of rain to clean out the air and cool you all down.

xoxoxo!!

good morning - Listening to all the news from Charlottesville and it really hits home as my original ancestors after landing in Jamestown settled in Charlottesville and had a plantation and helped to forge this country. This hate does nothing good. I took the boys to Charlottesville with my Mom when they were in grade to go to UVA to see the map that Jefferson's father and my many great grandfather created as the first surveyors of the colony of Virginia. Now to see this in this city makes me so sad. Not much else happening. My DH grocery shopped and made dinner. He brought home 3 kinds of fish fillets for grilling and I pointed out that he had this awesome grill pan for fish and veggies. Well it was perfect and he forgot he had it so he was even happier and the tilapia was delicious. Also a good old fashioned grilled hot dog with sauerkraut. Fun Sunday evening dinner. Luther got to the doggie park and loved running and now he is resting. Today is pretty low key.

Chris sounds like dirt therapy was the way to go. Glad the MRIs went well and could both be done at the same time. The get up sounds crazy. Your Hannibal comparison made me laugh. Have fun with parents and then congrats on finally getting to the shore. I agree that the smell is so good. Have a great time.

Trudy glad you had fun at the family gathering. It is hard when our aunt and uncles get old. My sister and I have lost every one and it is so weird to realize that we are now the older generation.

Rae so glad that the house party went so well. I know what you mean about being a clean freak or not. I am the not clean freak and my girlfriend is. I just don't have the energy anymore to yell at my boys to pick up stuff. I bet it was interesting to your friends to see how well you like and to find out about your keto diet.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Enjoyed our family visit yesterday and took a few pics of Ella (youngest GD) with my iPhone. Didn't bring the big camera and then wished I had. But at least I got a few pics to remember the day by. We brought her birthday gifts over to her as we had missed the party a few wks back, when we were away. She is such a monkey, climbing, jumping and swinging on things. They really need to get her into gymnastics! I took pics as she was trying to do handstands and we were laughing the whole time at her silliness. Taz was so happy to see his little buddy, Frankie. They ran around indoors and out, wearing each other out. The funny thing was when Frankie was up close to me, getting some petting, and Taz came over to get some scratches too and Frankie growled at him, not in an attack kind of way, just a quiet grrrr.....to tell Taz not to butt in on his time with me LOL. The look on Taz's face was so funny, he froze, had buggy eyes and had this WTH kind of look on his face. So of course I had to make Frankie sit down and wait while I gave Taz a scratch b/c Frankie doesn't get to be the boss LOL. Then they both ran off to play and race around the house.

Came home to have dinner and watch Game Of Thrones and then the finale for Saving Hope. I worked on an NBK Designs challenge afterwards which was fun (not during GOT, I can't do anything while watching that show as its too easy to miss something if not totally focused on it).

Chris - sounds like a great day for you. Enjoy it! Did you cry at the end of OB? I did. Then I sat there for a few minutes feeling bummed out that it was over. I'm glad they got to finish up the storyline but hate that now the show is done. Ugh. Same thing with Saving Hope (medical drama). Watched every episode and loved the Charlie/Alex storyline and was (again) bummed that that is also over now.

Nancy - I had to smile at the bit about your hubs forgetting he had a grill pan. I am the same way. I keep forgetting to use mine. It sits in the pull-out drawer under the stove and I never take it out to use LOL.

Trudy - are you having a lazy morning or am I going to see we are cross-posting when I hit reply on my post LOL. Isn't it nice to have the smoke clear from the sky? The little bit of rain cleared it up and the air smells so much fresher now. All our little birds are coming back to the feeders now.

I'm getting to work now and maybe tonight I'll start thinking about my MOS challenges for this week. Both of them are going to be really hard for me, both being out of comfort zone. Should be interesting.

Have a great day, everyone. I'll be back later this afternoon.

Morning ladies... slept until 7:15 and have spent the last while browsing my emails and getting distracted by Pinterest LOL. What a time waster, so many things to look at and imagine myself doing. Yesterday's get together was very nice, so good to see everyone again, but such a shock to see poor Aunt Marion so thin and frail looking. The stroke has affected her speech a bit, so it was difficult to hear her with so many others in the restaurant. We showed off pictures of our new grand baby lots of ohhh and awwws! I really need to get some of the photos scrapped!!

Chris - I laughed out loud at your description of feeling like Hannibal Lector :pound: So glad that you got both of your MRI's done at the same time! I can't imagine my DH ever having one as he is so claustrophobic! I think they would have to sedate him for sure. Yes digging in the dirt with all of your outdoor friends is just what you needed! So hard not to get all caught up with the horrible news that is happening in your country! Not very many DT fans here either, it is scary what is going on! :fear: We are now smoke free in our area, however we did not get a huge amount of rain, but we are grateful for what we did get and with the moisture and a bit of wind, it cleared the skies thank goodness! Fires are still burning out of control in a lot of areas and more thunderstorms were predicted for the interior, which will spark even more wildfires!! Not what they were praying for!! Enjoy your time with your parents and have a wonderful day with your brother and Christopher on the shore! Hopefully it will lighten your heart and give you happier outlook on life!

Nancy - What an interesting family history you must have! But how sad to think of what has happened in that area! Wonderful that your DH went grocery shopping and then cooked your dinner also!! He is a keeper!! Sounds like Luther is all pooped out and happy to just rest today! Yes it is hard to believe that I am now part of that older generation LOL. Hope you have a wonderful day today!

Rae - Well we would have been cross posting, but my post was put on hold for a while as I have been face timing with Heather and Hunter. Mason is at pre-school today and Hunter is getting a day with Mommy all to himself! Sounds like you had a lovely time at Ella's get together, wish I would have taken my good camera yesterday too, sadly might be the last time I see a few of these people. Uncle Ted and Aunt Marion not doing well at all and they live in the Interior so travelling is going to be harder and harder for them. Such a cute story about Taz and Frankie and the WTH look on his face, it would have been great to get a photo of that!! DH and I both fell asleep during GOT last night, so guess we will have to watch it again tonight LOL. I have to get busy with scrapping my next pages for MOS also, it will be interesting to see what we all come up with!

Ok I best hit the shower and get my vacuuming done and bathrooms cleaned UGH! Then I hope to try out a couple of new Keto recipes and I need to make my mayonnaise today also, perhaps some devilled eggs too. Have a great day everyone!

Not much happening here today, just as well as knee (and leg) still not quite right. Since Wed. evening it has been out of whack. Since it got better, hoping it isn't anything serious. Yesterday had fun at a local area picnic for genealogists. Something like 14 different groups participated and 76 attended. Food and fellowship was super.

Chris, glad MRI went smoothly if weirdly. Stick to dirt therapy. I don't think your stress levels can handle constant live updates of anything. Our paper today printed an article about not being able to sleep despite Rex Tillerson's comment: ''Americans should sleep well at night.'' If I start in on environmental issues (including "the wall") I will spin out of control. :tape2:

Nancy, sounds great to have DH shop and cook and do fish well. Sorry the crazies are trying to tarnish your memories of super family connections. Hope your knee is continuing to improve.

Rae, sounds like a fun day yesterday. You did good making Frankie behave, bet the two were a stitch to watch and DGD too.

Trudy, hope you're having a good day. Ooops, looks like I'm the one cross-posting with you. So glad your sky has cleared.
