'nother dreary day here but that is *good.* My desk area is a disaster. Papers shoved everywhere and the filing basket has a lightbulb in it. Even though the weekends are technically no different than weekdays, I still feel like I can take weekends off and do less than I do on a weekday. My To-Do list today is pretty darn long already and it isn't even 8 am.

The highlight of my day was working on the scrap page. I was literally cracking myself up while I was scrapping. Out loud! It's based on an episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (extremely funny and very un-PC, don't watch unless you are ok with super rude humor). One of the characters goes bonkers looking for a person, Pepe Silvia who doesn't seem to exist and he makes a string board with scraps of papers, strings, scribbles while he devolves into madness. As soon as I saw ViVa's kit, Crazy Wall, I had to use it. My family LOVED the page when they saw it. The page probably won't make much sense if you haven't seen the show (again, I am not recommending it, it is awful and inappropriate and hysterical) but the fam liked it and so do I.

Scott and Leah decided to spend another day in PA. I am glad- his work schedule is supposed to be every other day apparently and that will make it hard for him to get away again. At the same time, I miss him and am looking forward to having him home. :D

Today is going to be tackling the To-Do list, lots to catch up on.
Wishing everyone a fab day!

@Cherylndesigns Wow, you ladies are doing great with the shutters, it will be so exciting once they go up on the house!
hehe- I remember seeing the movie but not that line. Sounds perfect for ya.
Congrats to Braden!! That is fantastic. Scott can and will debate anyone about anything and I used to tease him that he would make a good lawyer- everyone would give in just to make him shut up.

@bcgal00 I told Caitlyn about Remi's improvement and she is thrilled! She said that even if she does have Addison's, she knows that you will take the best care of her. She said to give them both extra pets from her.

Good morning. Yesterday was rainy and dreary but it gave me a chance to get some scrapping done and spend some time in the gallery. There are some truly awesome pages there.

Back to work today. I’m glad that you make the weekends different @faerywings. Everyone still needs some down time. And glad Scott is getting a break before work starts. That’s a tough work schedule but hopefully this job is a stepping stone!

I’ll stop in later today.

Good Monday morning everyone! I was totally MIA from here all weekend and have lots of catching up to do today! As usual my Gary and I were busy the whole weekend, getting lots of cleaning and power washing and yard work done! Yesterday we spent the whole day in Langford going to Costco and a mens clothing store to find a new pair of dress pants for my DH. Covid shrunk most of his pants LOL. Yup he has put on a few extra covid pounds and I really need to start watching what I put in his lunches from now on to get his weight down a bit. I wish he would give up the grains, I know that is what is giving him the big swollen belly that he is now sporting. Sorry TMIF!! So anyway he needs new dress pants as he has been subpoenaed to appear in supreme court on Tuesday. He is quite used to going to court as he has done that most of his career with the RCMP, so its not a big deal for him. He does however have to show up in dress clothes now that he is no longer in uniform. So we got the pants and they of course needed to be hemmed, so over to a little place that does that in the mall. Ran to Costco while we waited for the hemming to be done. Went to a few other places looking for new cushions for our patio set on the porch, but did not find anything that we liked. :( Picked up the pants and finally came home where we had to get the meat all sorted and into the freezer. Time for supper and sat out on the upper deck in the sunshine to enjoy a few minutes down time. This morning I registered DH and myself to get our 1st vaccination shot, so hopefully we will hear very soon as to when we can go. Things are starting to move much more efficiently with the shots now. Today I have laundry to do and floors to wash as those things did not get done over the weekend. Will have to iron a couple of shirts for DH too. Tomorrow my sisters are picking me up and taking me somewhere for my birthday (which is not until Wednesday). My one sister has to work on Wednesday so tomorrow is the only day that works for her. No idea where we are going, because there are not many places that we could be going to these days . So I will be MIA from here again tomorrow. Seems my life has been kind of busy lately o_O.

@faerywings - Sorry you are having more dreary weather! I will try to send some sunshine your way, it is clear skies for us for the next while, but still the mornings are so cold and the breeze has a real bite to it! Warmer temps are on the way though! I saw your page that you made with the Crazy Wall kit! I just love it! It is so your family!!! I will have to check out that show for sure as we love that kind of off the wall comedy!

@Cherylndesigns - You gals have been so busy getting those shutters done! I hope that the winds have gone away and that your weather is cooperating. You should have more spring colour soon! Things are behind a bit here also with the blooms, but the sunshine over the past couple of days is really helping! I too remember that movie! I did not remember the ending though. It would be fun to watch again!

@nancyr - So nice that you enjoyed such a great day with everyone! It warms my grandma heart to think of you spending that good quality time with the young ones! I bet the walks with Luther are so beautiful with everything in bloom, it is my favourite time of year! Our Bruins sure looked terrible last night, not sure if getting Taylor Hall will do anything to help them out??

@LSlycord - Glad you had some time to get some scrapping done, but hope that the sun comes out for you again soon! I bet you would rather be sitting around your beautiful new pool instead!! I wish I could join you!

Ok off to put in another load of laundry and get on with this day! Have a lovely Monday everyone!

Morning, all.... I am up and dressed early. Have the pest control guy coming by for the termite control bait stations this morning. Had to LOL over everyone's comments about the number of laundry loads I did. I only do the laundry every 2-3 weeks plus I have a front loader washer which doesn't hold a lot - which means I have to do smaller loads. What would be 3-4 loads in the top loader washer is 6 loads in my front loader. DH had put in a long rod near the washer so I can hang things as I take them out of the dryer then it is easy to grab them and take them to my closet. The other clothes I take to my bed and fold them there - so they get put away as I do each load.

Had a nice family video chat yesterday afternoon. DD#1 was there and DSon#2 + his wife. DD has finally recovered (4 days later) from her 2nd Covid shot. Granddaughter + Hubby got the J&J shots on Friday and felt bad for a couple of days but nothing like DD did. DSon#2 got his first shot on Thursday and did fine. His wife is waiting for appointment to get hers. Will be glad when the whole family has their shots.

So happy to report that the Blood Pressure has been down in the 'normal' range the past few days - even though I have been scrapping some. Trying to space out working on LOs but I keep seeing kits I want to work with....

Chris, I love the LO you did with ViVa's kit, Crazy Wall. So creative. It was fun even though I haven't seen the movie. Good that Scott got his trip in before he goes to work. Sorry he won't have time to get another one in with his working every other day - but glad he has the job. Hope Caitlyn is recovering soon.

Cheryl, you had me in stitches over that quote!!! Some days, I feel the same. As DDinlaw#2 said - we love our PJ days when we just relax all day! Looking forward to seeing the photos once the shutters are done and hung - plus the wagon wheels in place.

Linda, sorry your had a gray and dreary day on the weekend but it is good you got some scrapping done.

Trudy, you had a very busy weekend... with lots of errands and work around the house. So glad that you got registered for your Covid shots... and hope you get an appt soon. Wow, that was a quick turn-around to get the pants hemmed. Sounds like you put the waiting time to good use.

I need to do a few chores around here before my sister and niece arrive next week. Think I am up to vacuuming and mopping the floors this week. I am hoping that I can get some of storage boxes out of the office and finish putting things away in there. I would like to get my computer files moved onto DH's computer in there, too.... but not holding my breath that I get it done this week. LOL....

good afternoon - yesterday was so busy. First it rained all day and I don't like rain! Went to the bridal shower and I was at a table with are 4 girlfriends. It was like we saw each other yesterday. We laughed. And OMgosh the food was so good, Italian. The dessert was gluten free cupcakes, chocolate peanut butter or cream brule. So fun. It was 4 hrs. Fortunately we only played 2 games. Came home and had to coordinate meeting at the hockey arena. Turns out my eldest son could not go as some one at his workplace tested positive for Covid so he did not feel he should attend in case he passed to others. Felt bad he did not go. But the rest of us (4 adults and 2 kids). Omgosh the kids were so cute between the game and the food and sitting in the suite. This morning Livie was asked by her teacher to draw what they did and she drew the cutest photo of being at the hockey game. She is only in kindergarten but you could tell for sure it was hockey. She knew right about that those in the stands that wore yellow were on the wrong team. LOL. Glad that I have two new hockey fans. My Devils lost but they saw lots of goals so that is always fun for newbies. The kids were surprised by how loud the goal horn was and I think it scared them the first time. So all in all it was a totally successful weekend. Today Luther is at doggie day care so I am getting some errands run. Also I am cleaning up my computer. I am getting stuff sorted and back upped. I have serval scrap projects that I have never upload and printed so I am going to do that. Then I will be able to scrap.

@faerywings Chris the weather is meh for sure. I know we need the rain but I still do not like it. Glad that Cait is feeling better and I am sure her rats want her back. How nice that Scott and Leah were able to stay another day. I will have to look for the page and I know lots that love that show but my sons have said I would not like it.

@taxed4ever Trudy how nice to be busy. That is something with Taylor Hall moving to Boston. I hope he shows how good he was when he was a Devil. I am still losing players today lost two defencemen, one off waiver and one traded. But I like that my draftees are getting a chance to play. Glad you weather is nice and I know you will have fun with your sisters which ever day. Congrats on getting registered for the vaccine. I have been seeing on twitter that many are not happy that kids working at Whistler are getting their vaccines before some of the older citizens. Glad though that people are getting their shots.

@BrightEyes Kay that is a lot of loads of laundry even if each is a smaller load. How great that your family is getting their shots and that they are feeling better. Congrats on the BP being more stable. Good luck with keeping those termites away.

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl congrats on the shutters! I laugh though at it being to hot at 85. I could use that temp for sure.

@bcgal00 Rae so happy that Remi is doing so well.

@LSlycord Linda hope the sun comes out for you. I was talking with kids and saying I could never live in the northeast too much rain. I need sun. I think growing up in the desert spoiled me.

Have a great day all.

Birding Saturday was wonderful. It was mostly sunny and hot (to us, just over 80). We spent 3 hours or so in the nature preserve where DH used to do bird surveys. There were lots of birds! All the migrants I hoped had arrived were there plus more. Friday and Saturday combined were like a big birding weekend for us. Yesterday it was cooler with my only outing a quick trip to the library. Today is also cooler, a bit rainy at first but getting sunny now. We made a trip to get my diet Coke, but didn't do anything else as it wasn't so nice out. In the preserve we talked with a man who's a fairly new birder and later got to show him a couple of birds he hadn't seen yet this spring, so that was nice too. Tomorrow is our anniversary (53) and we're thinking of going out to eat for the first time in 13 months. We'll see.

Chris @faerywings I love your LO (see standing O!) I don't know the show you mention, but I think all the crime dramas I've watched have had some pretty strange boards in them at one point or another. Your choice of photos was so perfect too. (Nice shot of you.) Seems like "meh" weather is really a big improvement over not long ago. Bloom has been strange here. Friday everything from Forsythia, daffodils to hyacinths, blooming trees, all compressed into one day. Daffodils were fading Sat. and by today their season seems over. Hope Cait is doing well and looking forward to hearing about Scott's job.

@LSlycord Are you back to warm weather? I didn't have to be jealous the recent days we went over 80.

Trudy @taxed4ever it is curious to hear your MG had put on the Covid pounds as somehow my DH has lost them (I know where they went - straight to me.) That was at least slightly different for your busy weekend. So glad the shots should be coming your way soon.

Kay @BrightEyes it is so nice to see you're getting back to normal. That still sounds like a lot of laundry to me. But whatever works! I'm sure you're looking forward to your sister's visit.

Nancy @nancyr the Devil's game must have been extra fun with the little ones. And how cool she did the picture from the game. Are they at all into birds? We have a great nephew who seems to be attracted to birding which is so pleasing to us. Hope you had a good day with Luther otherwise occupied. You asked about baseball, and we did get to watch one game on TV and it sounds like they're doing OK for now. Certainly missing some of the big bucks players who are gone like Lindor who you can see with the Mets. Hope things improve for your guys.

Felis @felis it was so nice to see you got your Internet back so quickly once someone came to do it. Has the weather warmed up and are you and the animals spending time outside?

Hope the week is starting well for everyone.

Good afternoon, Lovely-OOOOOzies!

You have all had me laughing and making me want to watch "Love At First Bite" again. Maybe I'll find it on my computer so I can watch it while I scrap. You all have to try to watch it now and think of me because I "stole" that last line for my "mantra" and have used it ever since. ROTF

Well, we got all of the shutters stained on one side - Ava went back out and worked on all the hard-to-get to places. The insides of each board have to be done with a tiny brush. They are ready to be flipped over and stained on the other side. It's a process. She's working today and tomorrow, but I might get dh to go help me carry them to the work tables. He wasn't particularly enthused about it. BWAHAHA Then they have to have a coat of Clear Coat on each side. We got all of them "done" except 2 windows on the side of the house that faces the woods, so we might wait on them. Ava's such a nut - she keeps me laughing. I had gone in to get a drink and here she came with stain all over her hands and wanted me to take pictures of her hands. I just posted them on IG - I told her it reminded me of when she used to make mud pies. She doesn't wear gloves and always destroys her hands. She said "oh Cici, a little paint remover will get it off". Cheryl (@cherylndesigns) • Instagram photos and videos

@nancyr I'd love to send you some of our "hot weather". LOL We've had a VERY mild winter except for that one week of the Polar Vortex but today is more normal for April - 74. You'd think that coming from the land of constant heat and humidity (Florida) that I'd be used to 80's. I need to work up to it now - not used to it anymore. Thanks for the congrats for Braden. We're very proud of him and he's really a nice kid on top of his talents. He does want to be an attorney and he'll make an awesome one!

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with the family and your hockey and dang those gluten free cupcakes sound good!! I'm drooling here.

Kay @BrightEyes what wonderful news that you're doing so much better!! I'm thrilled for you! Sounds like your laundry schedule is just like mine. I hang a few things in the laundry room, but bring most of them to the bed to fold, too. If you ever get a chance, watch that show! It's one of my all-time favorites. Glad I gave you a laugh.

Trudy @taxed4ever sounds like you had a super busy, but productive day! You certainly got a lot done. I found my indoor/outdoor cushions at Walmart - online. I love them and they're machine washable/dryable. Right now, they're on my kitchen chairs, but I can take them outside if I want. I was shocked at the price of cushions!! My gosh, I bought stuff like that back in FL for half the price of what I'm seeing now. I first looked on Amazon and their prices were really high, so I looked on Walmart. You might try Wally's.

What a wonderful way to end your day though - sitting out on your deck enjoying the beautiful weather and get some down time. SO good to hear that you've got your shots lined up. We get our second ones on the 27th. How fun to be going out for your birthday!

Chris @faerywings we "girl powered" again on the shutters! Ava didn't have very much time, but I take whatever she can give me. We had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, etc. planned for dinner, to celebrate Braden's honor - we wanted to do something special for him. He's worked SO hard and I can't believe that he won on "extemporaneous" which (his words) is debating "off the top of your head". Blows my mind! That's his specialty. They have topics that they know before hand, but the extemporaneous I can't even imagine. He's super smart - always has been and he does want to go to law school. I told him that was well and good and we're very proud of him, BUT not to think he was going to "debate me/us". BWAHAHA He's smart, like I said, and he knows better. We're ALL sort of debaters - we sit around and talk about everything, so he gets it honest.

Gotta run - I got a LO done for one of the challenges and want to post it.

Waving to all and group hug.
