yikes! I just looked at the calender to type int he dates for the thread title and I put in May 12-13. I almost lost a whole week there. :help:
This month is going by way too fast.

So my yesterday was an unexpected and last minute day off. About a half hour before I was off to work, my client called to cancel. She was really sick and was hoping to be better but it didn't work out. So I had a day with no plans and it was too late to make plans or get a project rolling. Not to mention i had a husband who was practically begging me to relax. Ha!
I ended up cleaning up cait's bedroom, something I never do. But she was having a freind sleep over, one who had never been here before and they weren't getting back until 8 pm. So I cleaned up some of her crud, and vacuumed all of the Bunny Fur that was everywhere. Then I spent a few hours outside, then came in a read for a bit. After dinner, we went next door to hang with my neighbor's.They built this amazing gazebo with a little bar inside, ceiling fan and lights- just gorgeous. So I guess it turned out to be a nice day (even though I was freaking out about losing the $70 I was expecting for work...) .
Oh well.....

Today is the prep for Scott's b-day party. Still no news on my brother's test results, so i am guessing no news is good news right??

How about all of you? Any fun plans?

xoxo

WAH! Chris, i want a neighbor with a bar in a gazebo! i could use one right now. (frankly, i'd like to get pretty much ALL NEW neighbors, if truth be told. gazebos or not. or better yet, NO neighbors. i dream of 2,000 acres of property with armed cowboys patrolling the perimiter.) i'm having a rest out on the patio in between spreading truckloads of mulch. it seems to be going pretty fast today, but my back is killing me already. on days like this it's nice to have a hubby who is in great shape. this job usually ends up with me sitting someplace and pointing at places where HE needs to put more mulch.

dunno what i'm going to do after the Mulch-a-Thon. probably something that involves laundry.

hope your weather is as good as ours will be this weekend! i think we may have left the 35 degree nights behind, at last. although i may be speaking too soon!

Morning to you ladies :yo: A beautiful sunny day today, but sounds like that will change later today. But then again, when has the weather man ever been right lately??

Chris - I think I would be hanging out at the neighbors place everyday! That sounds like such a cool gazebo! Wonder if I could talk my hubby into one of those? Sorry you lost out on your cleaning job yesterday, but I suppose it worked out for you! Have fun preparing for Scott's birthday and sure hope your daughter appreciates all the work you did for her and her friend! (I'm sure she does!!)

Phylis - A mulchathon is something that has to happen here again this year, ugh, so much work!! Your poor back!! I know how it feels, after being on my feet for 8hrs yesterday on cement floor and very poor mats my legs and back are killing me too!! Told the boss that I do not want full days anymore for about the 100th time, why is that so hard to understand??? Also told hubby that if things don't change at work, then I am quitting!!! This was supposed to be a fun part time job to get me out of the house and have a little extra cash. :mmph: ok enough ranting for me
I hope to get some photos today of our backyard so I can post them in the thread you started. Hope your day is filled with warm sunshine today Phylis!! Take some Advil for that backache!!

Today we are off to the nursery to pick up flowers for my baskets and some begonias for the front of the house, seems to be the only thing that blooms there. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hi everyone!! I survived yesterday in all of its glory!! hahahahah!!!!

I got the food ready for today, except the the deviled eggs that I completely forgot about until 7 am this morning. I worked outside, had a pina colada with my friend who lives across the street and then had a beer after dinner with myneighbor's in their gazebo. I have a feeling that is going to be our hang out this summer:D

Who needs bars/clubs when you can grab a beer from your fridge, walk next door and hang with friends for an hour and walk back home? I was actually in my pj's when Gary headed over for a bit. They sounded like they were having some much fun, I threw my clothes back on and went over.

I know, I am so odd.

And Scott had a great time out at the concert and I didn't have a heart attack. He texted us a few times while he was there and then to let us know when he was on his way home. Worked out great for all of us. whew!! (Does this mean we have to go through it again or can this be it for his teenage years??)

I am off to clean my house and get ready for the family. Have a terrific day!!!

Quiet weekend in here............

I CLEANED ALLLLLLLLLLLL DAYYYYYYYYYY LOOOOOOOOONG yesterday...

Being in the bed for a few days, really let the house get to be a mess.....

I finally broke down and bought a new vacuum a couple of weeks ago....QVC had an Electralux on sale that I thought I would try out....I am NOT a fan of the upright vacuum....I have a Kenmore canister (for nearly 10 years) and have LOVED it...but it's not cleaning the carpets very well at all any more....

Well the new one came and it is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME on the carpets, but does not clean bare floors worth a crap!!! So I was trying to decide weather or not to send it back.....I finally decided to buy a bare floor cleaner............I have the perfect little corner to hide it in the kitchen....it's a Bissell Flip It.....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You use it on one side to dry vacuum and flip it over to mop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I vacuum my dining room and kitchen floors every other day....so it's been doing awesome on that then I mopped with it yesterday...WOOHOOO it was awesome...fill the cup...squeeze the trigger and go...and it squeegies all the water up too...so it only took about 5 minutes for the floor to dry!!! and no nasty buckets to haul around. So it all worked out!!!

Okay..you all SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WANTED TO HEAR ABOUT THAT!! :pound:

I have nothing exciting in my life...as you can tell!!!!!!!!!!!! We are no doubt the MOST boring people on earth!!!!!!!!!

And to go along with that statement...WE HAVE NO PLANS FOR TODAY.

Chris...hope the party goes awesome and the neighbors sound great...I would love to trot over in my PJ's anywhere!! HAHA!! We have aweful neighbors all the way around us!! BOOO!!! Glad the concert went well too!!!!!!!!!

Phylis....you want the same as me really....all that land..NO AWEFUL NEIGHBORS!! and the "guards" sound YUMMY!! HEHE!! Mulching is the MAN's work here....he always does that in May..but since he retired...HE DID IT IN APRIL this year..WOW!! I still have not planted any annuals this year.....I have three places that I plant them but the weather has been so cooky I haven't done it....maybe next week....Everything bloomed so early this year because of the weather we had in March... But then we went back to cold nearly freezing nights in April and some during this month....plus ALLLLLLLL THE RAIN!!!

Trudy.... You are making me want to go ahead and get some flowers for my yard now!!! I hear ya on the weatherman....I want his job.....only one I know you can be SOOOO wrong all the time and get paid so well!!! And as for the job....well it's been my experience that when you do a good job they never hear you on what you want....they just want you there all the time and give you all the work...now if you are a "so-so" employee.....well you would have no problem getting the part time hours  Messed up, isn't it??

Happy Sunday Ladies... Boring day for us today too :bored: Helped hubby bottle wine this morning and doing :washing: other than that we are headed out to the grocery store after lunch. Hope to get some scrapping done this afternoon. Took some photos this morning for the "our gardens in may" thread, but darn the sun never made an appearance today so they are kinda gloomy. Should have done them yesterday when the sun was here. Darn.

Chris - I would have just popped over to the neighbors in my PJ's the heck with changing LOL!! Hope you have a great party!! Glad that Scott had fun at the concert and how nice that he kept you informed!! Sorry but this is just the beginning of your worry, but he sounds like a responsible young man so you shouldn't have to worry too much!!

Linda - Ha, Ha, how old and boring are we, when getting a new vacuum cleaner is the big excitement in our day!! I would be the same as you and happy to be able to clean more efficiently...sad isn't it?? ITA on all the property and no neighbors!! I only like a couple of my neighbors, the others I would glady be rid of them!!!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend!!

so just stopping in now...i had 4 extra kids all weekend....so yeah didnt get a single break to really get online much....phew! now i gotta get off right now and go get laundry out of the dryer....sigh...its never ending....

hope y'all had a nice Sunday. i have a splitting headache at the mo, probably because i served Bellini's at brunch when my sister and hubby came over. champagne at noon. my body went : "WHAA??????"

Nana. i get your vacuum cleaner happiness. i have that Kenmore cannister, and i just keep getting the newer model. plus i just replaced my Roomba that broke last month. great on wood floors and low pile carpet.

Chris. have you told you son that he can't ever go out in a car again?? hahaaa!! it DOES get easier. ha. then, just when you think everything is all downhill from here, they turn 25 and the bottom drops out.

Trudy. do you know my husband and i have NEVER been in a grocery store together???

Kristy. the thought of all those kids is making my headache worse....

i gotta go sit in the dark somewhere and close my eyes. see ya tomorrow.

evening all - I had class Friday and Saturday, learned about feeding issues and treating feeding issues from an amazing instructor, she is actually going to China in June to share information on how they can improve their 550 bed NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). I had attended her course before, but this time I actually got continuing ed units from it. I learned a lot and had co-workers go. Did you know that you chew like you walk? Anyways, today was some work stuff, getting ready to have someone actually clean up after me at work! I have been taking picutures of my garden to share in the other thread.
