Where is everybody? I miss you all :)
I hope that you are all enjoying the nicer weather. It is cloudy but warm. It might even get up into the 80's today.

Yesterday was successful, in that I made it through and I think I got almost everything done that I need to do. It was nice picking up my lake badge. I think that the lake opens this weekend coming up. I have to get some used paperbacks to keep in my bag so I have something to read while I am there.
Jaida's appt went well. She is def. pit bull mixed with lab. At this point, she looks more pit than lab, where Ray is more lab than whatever she is mixed with. The vet thinks that she is about 12-14 weeks and the next visit or so we might have a better idea based on her teeth.
She and Ray are also getting along better too. They were playing this morning, this time initiated by Ray.:D

Today, I don't even know-- I have little stuff I need to do, I want to scrap... trying to not feel lazy!

What good stuff do you all have going on today?
Hope it is a wonderful one!

Nancy- what is the GF like? I hope that you guys like her.
Of all times for it to be rainy and cold in CA. Poor riders, but I am sure that the people in CA were happy to see rain.
I did some cleaning in my house too- and the pollen dust is everywhere!
ITA with you -- Trudy is so talented and creative!

Shar- What an awesome feeling for the kids and the new house! I am going to have to find you on Instagram to see the pictures.
Oh yes, "this too shall pass." Words that I live by. That might be a good tattoo idea for me. :)
I was worried about the extra work of a puppy too. But Gary especially and both kids have really done so much of the work. Gary sleeps out in the LR (he usually does anyway since he has horrible restless legs) with her so when she wakes up around 4am, he will take her out. The kids will take her out when they are home and both of them play with her since she is a high energy dog.

Who can tell in hockey, with all the gear they wear?! LOL

This had me

At first I thought I had gone into the men's dressing room by mistake! ROTF But it turned out to be a woman. WHEW!

And this^^ ahhh! I had something similar happen to me once in a restaurant rest room. I walked out of the stall and there was a very tall, husky persona washing what I thought were *his* hands. I thought I was in the wrong restroom too and I rushed out w/o washing my hands (ewwwww!!!). I got back to my table and used my water and some napkins to clean my hands as best as I could. I looked up and it was a women, just a very tall woman! In my defense, she looked alike a man-ish woman even from the front. But

Any news on your friend? Good healing thoughts to her.
My BFF Across the Street- her DH had a heart attack last year- the man is 50, thin as a rail, active hiker etc. You wouldn't think that he would have that issue. But he is doing great and I hope that your friend does too.

Trudy- WTG on mastering the flip! Did you make it to the pool or a walk? Either way- I am so proud of you and the other Ooos here for doing so much good exercise. I really need to start working in that myself.

Of course the tunnel and tent will be BIG hits! How could they not? :)
Enjoy your date night tonight!!

xoxoxo!!!!!

Morning O-Zies!! Up way too early this morning, but I had a great sleep, did not wake up at all during the night and so at 5am my body was telling me to get out of bed. I tried for an hour to go back to sleep, but no. Oh well hubby was wide awake also as his regular time to get up is 5:30am so we both are getting an early start to our busy day.

Chris - It has been unusually quiet in here hasn't it? We really need Phylis back, but I guess she is busy doing other things, and when you don't scrap anymore then she must have a hard time relating to us now? :noidea: Glad that your puppy is becoming more trained and you are not having to clean up messes anymore. She must be a very smart puppy, she has learned quickly! How wonderful that she is bringing you all such pleasure! Sending lots of positive vibes your way for the warmth and sunshine you so deserve! Enjoy your weekend and hopefully you will get to scrap a bit also!

Hubby and I are going to get some yard work done and then we are headed to the Nursery for some new plants. Hooray, I love going to the Nursery, I wish I could grow everything that they have. LOL I would have to tear up the lawn to fit it all in. Oh but then I would have to weed all of it also
gaah-smiley.gif
I hate weeding!! Then we are headed to Victoria to see a movie, we already booked our tickets so we have primo seats at the iMax theatre, dinner before the movie and it should be a great day!! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and that the sun shines on all of you today!!

good late morning - For being as tired as I was from cleaning and walking and cooking I just did not sleep well. But I did sleep better than our poor cat who is hiding out upstairs on top of the tallest piece of furniture she can find - Chaz's DJ speaker. We moved her water, food and litter box up to that room but I think she is not too happy. Poor baby. But I have to say that Allison and her dog Rex are the sweetest! She liked the dinner I prepared so that is good. Her dad is a Marine from North Carolina so she knows where my oldest was and they were probably on base at the same time. Only problem I foresee is that she is a Penguins fan LOL. Today is a hockey and Outlander day. I am watching and this is what I love about the internet and TV now - NBCsportLive app lets me watch the Canadian broadcast of the Worlds championship via my iPad on my TV. How cool is that. I love this new technology! Then at 1pm is the Rangers/Lightning game. Go Lightning. Should be exciting. Then some time is the USA/Russia worlds semi finals. Chris the day is cloudy but it is warm and so I am going to do a quick walk before the thunderstorms come this afternoon. The the big finish for the night is the new episode of Outlander. This is an intense portion of the ending of the first book. I am interested in how they are going to do this as it is intense. Trudy you will have to let me know what you think.

Chris glad everything went so well yesterday. It does not seem that you were too too tired. I think you are gaining your strength back. Good girl for taking is slowly! Glad the dog is doing so well. They really know when they have a great home.

Trudy I think that when I sleep straight through my body has a harder time getting going as I need to keep the muscles moving LOL. The thing is not to let my mind wake up when I come back from the bathroom. Have fun at the Nursery!

Jean I had my first goldfinches at my bird feeder. Our new backyard neighbors have cut down most trees and now redoing the backyard so the birds really are not coming but it was awesome to see them today!

Have a great day all!

Good morning (barely still morning back east!). A low-key day for me again. Lots of coffee-drinking in bed this morning.

Glad your day was successful yesterday, Chris. Sounds like you accomplished a lot. So glad the family is pitching in with Jaida.

Trudy, I love going to nurseries too, but I don't even like PLANTING what we get much less weeding. I'm envious of people who enjoy it. I so WANT to like gardening, but just can't.

Golf yesterday: Started out pretty pathetic, so I quit caring, and then started having fun. DH shot a 90! It should have been 89, because right in the middle of his backswing at a hole with a water hazard, his friend stepped on something that made a loud cracking noise...ruined Dave's drive. I told him he should take at least one shot off his score for that, but he is so honest, he wouldn't do it. You can tell a man of integrity by how he keeps score on the golf course. My hair was really cute. ;)

My friend is home from the hospital. She has Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy. Another name for it is "broken-heart syndrome." And it is well-named. She has had way more crises in her life than she deserves...for years...one thing after another. And she is such a wonderful person. We call her "the sweet one." If she's up for a visit, I will pop over to see her today. She is pleased to have avoided surgery (no stent...yeah!).

Kids are moving stuff to the new house. WOOT! Their car is a GMC Yukon...so with the back seats down/out ??? it has plenty of hauling capacity. Erik w/b driving back and forth for loads, while Zanna unpacks at the new house. Oldest DD has The Decorating Gene, so today she is excited about doing the bathroom she and her brother will share. They're hoping to make the big move next week end, and will hire some strong young bucks to move the big/heavy stuff.

That's all I know at the moment.

Carry on!

Nancy, glad the meeting/dinner with Allison went well. Although I'm glad Rex is a nice dog, I feel very bad for your kitty. Sounds like a Perfect Day for you with all that hockey AND Outlander.

We've had a few goldfinches, and must say, they are my favorite PNW birds.

Today was genealogy day for me. The computer gen. group meets from 9:30 to 2:00 with a brown bag lunch and social hour in there. I gave a new talk in the morning on wills and probate in genealogy research. We're still enjoying all the siskins coming to the feeder along with goldfinches and house finches.

I never get enough sleep when getting up early for the meeting, so am a bit of a zombie at the moment. Not sure personals would make much sense. Just glad you're all here with interesting days to share.

Hope it's a good weekend for all.

HellooooO! How are my fabulous Oooos doing today?

In case you didn't see, Ellen has wonderful news! yeah , she's arrived
Congrats sweetie!!!

Yesterday feels like a blur- I spent so much time doing stupid stuff around the house, then I started scrapping a page, then off to pick Cait's BF up from work. He was supposed to have had a ride but that got all messed up. Actually, he was supposed to have a car, had been paying his step-father-asshole (sorry, but he is!) since last August for one, and then the S-F-AH decided the day that Brendan got his license, that No, he can't have the car anymore. I will never, ever understand that awful man.
By the time we got home, it was dinner, and IV time.
We finally got some rain however, so maybe the air will be a bit cleaner.

Today is more of the same old, same old. I have so much darn stuff to do to catch up on and I just feel lost. I have my To-Do List and it never seems to end!

I hope that you have a wonderful, gorgeous day!

Trudy- a good night's sleep and waking up early is waaaaay better than a bad night's sleep and waking up later. As you know, I am sure!
I miss Phyllis too, she always had me laughing.
Jaida Bragging- she is now learning to Sit before we throw a toy and then Get It. But she can be stubborn when she wants to be. I tried taking her outside and she did *not* want to go. She sat down with this No, and You Can't Make me look. It really is like having a 2 yo in the house!
I started a page for a June Challenge-- a journaling one no less-- how funny is that? I am the Queen of Non-Journaling! LOL

How was the nursery???? I love nurseries too and I wish that I could go and get new plants- veggies and herbs and flowers. *happy yet wistful sigh* At this point we get very little in the way of new plants, just tomatoes and some peppers this year. We had some lettuce and spinach that came back from last year, I guess they had dropped seeds, so we will see if they get established.
How was date night? So awesome that you and your Gary do that. What movie did you end up seeing?

Nancy- poor Kitty!! Thank goodness that he has somewhere to hide.My cats are starting to show themselves a bit more. Jaida wants to play with them in the worst way, but they do not want to play back. A bit of growling and hissing and puffed up tails from them. :)
That is excellent news that you like Allison. Although, I am not surprised. Your kids seem very smart and I can't imagine that they would get involved with someone who is not nice, even if she is a Penguins fan LOL
How was Outlander???? I hope that gets on Netflix soon!

Sharon- how awesome to turn around and have a great time golfing! I am 100% non-competitive. No, that isn't really true. I can be competitive but in things like not-eating. hehehe! But in things I am *bad* at -- like sports- I am not, it is much better for me when I don't keep score at all.
That is too funny about DH!
So good to hear that your friend is home. What do they do for this syndrome? I hope that you were able to see her.
yay!!!! Fantastic news about the move going well!!!! They must all be sooooo excited!!!! I know I am and it isn't even my fam :D

Jean- sounds like a very interesting day, if exhausting. I hope that you got a good night's sleep and check in with us today.

good morning - well I am learning to change my mind about dogs. Our dog when the kids were young was the best dog but he was my DH's guard dog and would growl at me which I did not like. But he was a sweet heart. But I never wanted another dog. Well now that my son has his two little dogs I am getting to see that they are cute and now this weekend we have gotten to know (eek her name is Ashley not Allison - luckily I never called her the wrong name) Rex (a German Shepard) and OMgosh is he a sweet heart. He is smart and really sweet. He only barks when someone comes in the house but never attacks just deep throated barks. He and I have gotten along very well as the kids are in the TV room I am in the kitchen so he comes to me to go out both to go to the bathroom and to play. I have to say that we have no fence in the back yard and he has never strayed and comes when called. He loves to play fetch. The best part is when he is done he goes right to the door to go in. We had huge thunderstorms come through and he was not scared. So many dogs are but not him just laid down. I have to say I was so apprehensive but wow what a good dog. And Ashley is just as sweet. Other than having company I did scrap and did get in a good walk and did not have to cook and did watch hockey. I did watch Outlander. Amazing how they brought the book to life. The USA did not win but they play today for the bronze. Then the later is the Ducks/Blackhawks game. So I am happy. The fog is starting to burn off and it should be a summer day!

Chris that is a shame about Brendan. Glad he has your family to help. Did you get the thunderstorms. And yes saw the news about Ellen that was great news.

Sharon that is good news about your friend coming home. Never heard of the Syndrome. Your golfing story is pretty funny. I am competitive when playing my DH and there are a few things where I am better but physically I will never be bigger or stronger so I have learned to just enjoy the time which is exactly how I now play. And sounds like that is your philosophy now too! We ladies are so smart! Glad the move is going so well!

Trudy how did the nursery trip go? Lots of new plants. I was talking to a woman I see on my walk a lot and her lawn is gorgeous. She was explaining all her cool new plants. Ruffled petunias I think. So pretty and she is planting butterfly and hummingbird attracting plants. Would that I loved dirt but I don't.

Jean your genealogy meeting sounds fascinating. How fun that you also have a social hour. I don't have siskins at my feeder but the cardinals are coming.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Nancy, I hear you about Rex. We have a friend who's daughter has a dog named Alex. He is very much as you have described Rex...a "gentleman" and one who could make the most anti-dog person change their mind. He is mostly golden retriever, I think, and just the best dog I've ever known...even better than my sweet sheltie, Quincy (many years gone).

Oh Chris. I'm so so sad for Brendan. I just want to gather up all the little chicks like him, put them under my wing, and make their problems go away.

My body must be responding to the lifting of stress. I slept well night before last, took a DEEP L O N G nap yesterday afternoon, and still went to bed early and slept all the way through until 5 this morning. Stress takes an amazing toll on our bodies...as my dear friend, Dorene has found out the hard way. She asked me to postpone my visit until tomorrow.

So, tomorrow is our 46th anniversary. I will be babysitting Clara in the morning (nanny is away for the day), visiting Dorene in the afternoon, all while Dave is playing golf with his buddies. LOL Aren't we the romantic pair! We are planning a nice Thai dinner out.

Okay...back under the covers for another slosh of coffee...then we're off to church.

Morning ladies... Everyone sounds like they are having a great weekend!! Yesterday's visit to the Nursery was great! I got some annuals so that we could have instant colour in our garden. Then picked up some Perennials too as one day I hope to have just perennials in this spot. Also purchased a climbing Hydrangea (Pink) to put in a lovely pot that was given to us by our real estate lady way back when we bought the house. She bought two of them for us one was huge and the other a bit smaller, but the biggest one holds a bamboo plant (fake) that stands in our entry way of the front door. So we have always wanted to fill the other one with a plant for outside. I keep telling DH that both of these pots are meant for the outdoors, but he really likes the big one inside. :noidea: oh well what can I say the man is stubborn as they come! :becky:

Chris - Poor young man, thank goodness he has your family to escape to!! What on earth is his stupid father thinking?? Like Sharon, I wish I could wrap a safety blanket all around him and keep him from harm!! Why are some people so cruel?? Sorry you are feeling lost today! Just take one project at a time sweetie and you will tackle it all, also don't forget to ask for some help with your to do list, surely there is something that the others can help out with!!! You can't do it all yourself silly woman!! :nono:

Nancy - How cute that you have fallen in love with this lovely dog! My sister has a pitbull that everyone is terrified of, but he is really a sweetheart REALLY!! I know that they get a bad wrap, but this one is amazing, so gentle so loving and he actually smiles when I go there for a visit. Too cute!! So glad that you are liking the girlfriend too, good thing you did not call her by the wrong name!! LOL

Sharon - Your poor dear friend! I hope that she is on the road to recovery! Glad that you are sleeping better and yes stress does do terrible things to our bodies!! I know that when my DD was in hospital I maybe got 2hrs sleep every night and for years after I still relive the time she was there and it keeps me awake for most of the night. I think I have to learn to forgive myself a bit more, I keep thinking that there was something else I should have done, when I know that there wasn't, guilt is killer I have to let it go!! But it is a very hard thing to do!! So nice that you had a good time golfing with your hubby! DH and I have to golf in a fun tournament next weekend, it should be good for a laugh as neither one of us has golfed in years!! Hoping he will like it more than he has in the past and take it up once again!

Jean - I would have loved to have been there for your talk on wills and probate! Hope that you managed to catch up on your sleep today!! I was reading in our local paper that the Western bluebird was reintroduced here a few years ago, the numbers were way down I guess, but now they are being spotted everywhere! I would love to see one, as the only blue coloured bird I have ever seen is the Steller Jay and he is noisy and not as pretty as this little sweet bluebird.

Well we had a good date night last night, we saw the new Avengers movie at the IMax theatre in 3D it was full of action and was pretty good. Not as good as the first one though, but still very entertaining!! Traffic was not heavy and the drive home was nice with lots of stars shining. By the time we arrived in Victoria though it was pretty close to when the movie was going to start, so all we had for dinner was a chili dog at the theatre and popcorn of course :becky: Another grey morning here, but hoping that the sun will make an appearance later today. DH is power washing the back fence so he can get the last half of it painted finally. It has been half done since last summer, it will be nice to have this project finished so we can move on to the next one. :becky: I hope you all have a great Sunday!!

Trudy, I haven't been around long enough to know the story of what happened with your DD. I know she has limitations, now, and that you are proud of her for all she has accomplished.

Glad you had a wonderful date night with DH. Your flowers sound awesome. We, too, MUST have popcorn when we go to a movie theater (which is about 2 or 3 times a year!). It doubles the cost, but oh well! It's part of The Package!
