Happy Mother's Day weekend to those of you who participate in that. Is it tomorrow in CA too? Hugs to all moms and nurturers and creators whether you are a mom to a human, fur/scale/fin, or Art. We all have such power in us and I honor all of you for that.
:champagne

Yesterday was chilly but the sun stayed out which was nice. I steamed cleaned the carpet and ick! So much dirt and fur. After I did that, I scrubbed out Gary's tub. I don't use his bathroom and he usually will clean it when it gets too grimy. But after cleaning out the water reservoir and making more of a mess, I felt it was a nice thing to do. I transplanted the thyme and 1 rosemary seeding into the mason jars. Scraggly but cute. All I need to do is add the labels to the front of them and they will be good to go.

Today Caitlyn and I are heading down to my brother's for Christopher's family birthday party. I will get to drive the new car outside of town. I better get used to all of the gizmos and gadgets so I don't get distracted.

I am hoping to get some cute pictures of my little guy too. Did I tell you that I got a new phone? My old was was literally on its last legs and Sprint had an offer for the new Galaxy for $8/month for 24 months. I have the money saved from Christmas and I really wanted an "all up front" payment but there weren't any phones available. Turned out when Gary called Sprint to activate the new phone, he was able to renegotiate our bill, and he and Scott were eligible for the same $8/month deal for the Galaxy. This was perfect timing since Scott's phone was sitting a bag of rice as when he found this out.:cell:

Long story short- new phone, less money and the camera on it is awesome. It is 12 mp and my Canon DSLR- 10 mp. Colors are super crisp. You might actually see me scrapping more since I will be able to take more pictures :)

Hope that everyone has a great weekend!

Nancy- I used to cook with kale a lot but I haven't in a while. I should dig out the recipes and see if anyone is still interested in them. Your dinners sound so good. I was listening to a podcast that is sponsored by Blue Apron and the featured meals had me drooling when they described them. You are lucky!
Aww, poor Luther having to wait to go play. How did your hair come out? Feel very refreshed? Hope so!

Rae- that stinks about all of that work getting dumped on you but always good to focus on the income. :) I am so bummed for you that you won't have as much alone time at home as you had hoped. I would kill to have that, even if I did nothing, it would mentally give me a break.
You are losing so much weight, congrats to you!! That is wonderful!
Have fun this weekend!

Trudy- baby's head is down, a good sign for everything except the bladder LOL Love hearing good baby news!
Maybe you will get some sun this weekend? I tried working on a LOyesterday- one that I had begun the day before, and I am still not finished, nor happy. Oh well. Maybe you will have better luck than me.
So sorry to hear about your cousin's wife. :(

Better get going, my stomach is starting to grumble. I also need to wrap the gifts and make a card before we leave.

xoxo!

good morning - I have been up since 6 am. My team USA men's hockey team was playing Latvia, the team they are tied with in the section of the tournament. Well team USA started out losing 2-0, then 3-1 but by the end of the 3rd it was tied. Late in the 3rd team USA scored and won by a score of 5-3. Whew that was a nail biter. I was beginning to wonder why I had gotten up so early after staying up late to see the start of the Western Conference final between Preds and Ducks. Well it was tied after 60 min so I went to bed and woke to the Preds winning in OT. Tonight is the start of the Eastern Conference final between Sens and Pens. And I have two more Worlds game one now at 10am and one later at 2 pm. A lot of hockey but it is good background for scrapping. Last night was hysterical as my son and his friend came home and drank a lot. My son can tell a short and it takes forever as the story is never in a straight line but always veers off. It is going to be drenching rain all day! But my DH is out with Luther. He is a good man. But he is so slow. He went upstairs to get his shoes but decides to brush the cat. Comes down but decides he needs his boots so goes back upstairs and no uses bathroom. Then back downstairs but has to go down and get socks and find treats and rain gear. Poor Luther had to wait 45 min after he was told he was going. LOL. And they say women are never on time. The boys cannot help me this weekend but that is fine as they will do it soon. But Zach is going to fix dinner so what more could I ask for.

Chris have fun driving the new car. That is so awesome about the new phones. All the new phones have the best cameras. I can't wait to see the scrap pages from the party! Have a great time! I love Blue Apron and I think it is ideal for single or married with no kids. I was not sure my DH would be happy with this but he loves the meals and we really are eating much healthier.

Trudy that is great news about Heather and her pregnancy going so well. I guess you will be leaving soon to be there to help. So sorry about your cousin's wife. Very sad! Loved the page with your rhododendron. I guess you mojo is coming back.

Rae wow you were socked with lots of work. Enjoy time at the trailer. Sounds like your DH just does not do well without you. But still you will get some free time. Hope the lines at the trailer have not been chewed on any more. Have fun with Taz on the walks.

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies and a very Happy Mother's Day weekend to you all!! I have to remember to send a nice message to my DD and my DIL this weekend, they are both such amazing mommies!! We are probably heading up to the Lake this weekend sometime to bring flowers to MIL and to have a bit of visit. DH needs to borrow a big roller from his Dad to flatten he soil that we are bringing in over the next while. The front lawn has sunken a bit and we need to build it back up again. Ugh more shovelling!! Oh well great exercise for the both of us.

Chris - Have a wonderful time at Christopher's birthday party!! How wonderful that you got a new phone!! Just in time for some great party pics!! I bet it does help your mojo, I know that when I have taken some good shots it really does help out a lot! Glad that you will finish up your Mason Jar presents today also!! Just in time!! Enjoy driving your new fancy car!! How fun to have the bells and whistles to play with LOL.

Nancy - Thanks for the nice comment on my Rhodo page, it took me all day long to get it done :gaah: why am I such a slow scrapper?? Sometimes I have these crazy issues with my Photoshop too so that doesn't help out with speed of scrapping!! I know that I need to update my Operating System on my Mac, but the last time I did that I had lots of problems with my Photoshop and had to revert back to my old system :mmph: I think I should take it to the local Mac place and have them do it for me, but I really don't want to be without my computer :becky: Ha, Ha about your son trying to make a long story short :pound: too much to drink?? Even more funny that your MG took that long to get ready for a walk with Luther!! Poor Luther anxiously waiting to get out for a bit. Lots of hockey for you to enjoy for the weekend!! Have a great time watching and scrapping!!

Rae - Yikes not fair to have all that work dumped on you!! But oh yes think of the extra $$ !
A quick trip to the trailer might be just the thing for you, perhaps you can get some good deals on some groceries while you are there, or is it worth it with the way our poor dollar is these days? Your hubs is just like mine and really doesn't like to spend time all by himself too much. He will be very lonely when I head to Ontario for a few weeks to help Heather with the Baby. Hoping he will come out and spend a few days with us before I head back home, but we will see what the flight costs will be. I could travel to Hawaii for less than it costs to go to Ontario, how unfair is that!!! Enjoy your short trip to the trailer!

Alrighty I will be getting my MG some breakfast soon and will make something for myself a bit later in the day. I don't usually eat my first meal until around 11am or so, just not hungry with this new Keto way of life. That's ok the weight is still coming off slowly but surely and I will be at my 20lb loss very soon!! Have a great Mother's Day ladies you are all amazing and thank you for being a part of my life

Good morning and Happy Mother's Day to all who are celebrating. My boys are cooking me dinner so that is sweet. We will be celebrating with the in-laws so that will be fun too. And yes the sun is out. Yesterday we got over 1.5 inches of rain. It was just a steady never ending rain. Yuck. Even Luther was not inclined to be outside. And yes it was fun watching hockey and scrapping. My DH has Luther out for a walk now. But poor Luther he has to be so tired. Chaz and his friends (they did not make a peep this weekend) were up until the wee hours of the morning so I am sure Luther was up too.

Chris hope the day went well even with all the rain!

Trudy hope you got the roller. Sounds like a lot of shoveling. And congrats on the losing the weight. So impressive by you and Rae.

Have a great day all!

Yes, a very good morning, Mother's Day and Sunday to everyone.

It is sunny! Yay!! Still cold but like Nancy said, it is supposed to warm up mid-week. I cannot wait!
What an absolutely disgusting weather day we had yesterday. It stayed in the 40s and poured. When I was at my brother's for Easter last month, it was suny and 80. A month later and it is 47 and rainy. What is wrong with that picture?

Caitlyn wasn't feeling well, so I went by myself. It was a very small gathering so I was able to get some decent hugs in before Christopher went off and running. The new car drives amazing! It was so comfortable and I figured out how to adjust the radio and the lights and the windshield wipers. All very important. haha!!!

Scott is at Leah's and he is supposed to be home in time for dinner. My mom sent me home with salmon for dinner and I will make mashed potatoes to go with so he'd better be home :)

Other than that, it will be a quiet day. Caitlyn made me coffee in my Mamma Bitch mug, I got kisses from the fur-kids, and Gary offered to make me breakfast. All good!

Hope that your day is awesome too!

Nancy- how funny about your DS telling a story. I do that too even not drinking.
Luther is very patient with your DH. Jaida would have running into and around him to get his attention. Good boy!

Trudy- You have raised a good family- heather is an awesome mom and your DS married the same. Such love!
Hope that whatever you need to do with your OS doesn't screw up PS too much.
I didn't get many pictures since it was such a quiet party but I did take some pics of Christopher blowing out the candle on his cake. He is such a cut up :D

Nancy- good for you having the guys cook dinner! Do you know what they are making? The rain was crazy at times and I haven't transferred my junk from the old car to the new and I didn't have an umbrella so I got wet getting to my brother's house carrying all of my stuff.

You all will like to hear this-- Christopher loved his photo album that I made for him. Loved the idea that I have been making one for him every year. He looked at all of the pages and read the titles and journaling. That was a gift to me.

Happy Mother's Day ladies!! I think that you are all simply amazing!! I received some very lovely flowers from my son and his family, they are so beautiful! DD is going to FaceTime with me later on today, so they can all say hi. I know that she can not afford to do the flower thing and that is ok, I would much rather her save her $$'s and see her beautiful face anyway!! I have to say that I was impressed by my son to even remember that it was Mother's Day, he is so busy and being away from home there are enough things to try to remember to do without having to worry about sending flowers to someone!! He even txt me to tell me he loves me. He is off to Brussels tomorrow and from there who knows where. His stint with this position will be over in June and I think he will be glad to be home with his family again and back to normal life! Well as normal as a Military life can be I guess. Had a nice visit with MIL and FIL, poor MIL has that horrible cold that takes away your voice and she is coughing a lot. Hopefully she takes care of herself and doesn't get pneumonia like my DH did. I had to help FIL with the ancestry.ca site, he wasn't sure how to work it, so hopefully now he is having more fun with it. It should keep him busy and out of MIL hair for a while anyway!! In the morning I made a sign for Jonah's (son-in-law's) 30th birthday and had MIL & FIL get their picture with it, we are going to try to get all the relatives to do it and then send it off to his Mother as she requested it be done as a surprise for his big day. Hopefully I will get my sister Wendy and her hubby to do it today. We took the sign to my brothers and my other sister's on our way home last night.

Nancy - How nice to have your dinner cooked by your men!! So sweet!! Always a good day when you don't have to cook!! Sounds like you had some pretty nasty weather yesterday! Thank goodness you had lots of hockey and scrapping to keep you busy on such a rainy day! :rain: Happy that the boys did not keep up awake for half the night, but poor Luther will be one tired dog LOL.

Chris - Isn't it so wonderful that Christopher loved your birthday gift!! It makes it so worth all the effort you put into doing it! Your Auntie Heart must feel so good ! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the weather warms up where you are. Hurry up summer we are all waiting for you!!

Ok DH is getting impatient for some breakfast lol so I will get going and get him something, hmmm isn't it Mother's Day and I shouldn't have to do this :becky: Well I guess I am not his Mother am I?? I hope you are all having a wonderful day!!

Good morning, ladies. Got the repairs done at the trailer. A critter had chewed a huge and small hole in the water line behind the water tank in the wall which was a bit trickier for Darrell to get at but he did, he got it fixed and it looks like that is the only damage (fingers crossed). We'll find out when we go back next wkend to open up the trailer for the season and have the water running all wkend. Lesson learned, hubs will get supplies and insulate the lines for next winter to hopefully prevent the critters from biting thru. We popped into town and grabbed some groceries to bring home. I got Steak-EZE which I'd heard about but never saw before and it was BOGO so I brought 4 boxes home to try out. They will be good for quick lunches with eggs or salad. Darrell brought home a big pkg of pastries for today (him and Bailey). I'm going to make mini keto friendly chocolate muffins for Jen and I. We'll have a casual BBQ dinner later with burgers, salad and dessert. I'm going to try homemade mayo later and let Bailey help me, she loves to work with me in the kitchen. The weather looks decent so we'll get Taz out for a walk before dinner and maybe I'll get a few pics.

Chris - congrats on the new phone, you'll enjoy taking more pics now. I take a lot with my iPhone and am so impatient, waiting for the new one to come at the end of this year. My phone takes decent pics so no complaints but the new one coming will be a jump up in technology so am excited. Darrell and I are both waiting. Jen works at Staples and they sell a liquid screen cover that is much more scratching and cracking resistent so we'll be getting that too when we get our new phones. I've cracked this one twice (within a few weeks LOL). So glad to hear that Christopher appreciates your efforts with the album. Makes it so worthwhile doesn't it?

Trudy - yes, Ontario is so expensive to fly to. I'm from Windsor and haven't been back in 30 yrs, so I'm due to for a trip one of these days with Jen.

Nancy - poor Luther, having to wait and wait LOL. Taz will follow me around and stare at me, giving me the mental message of hurry up.

Gotta go, shower, get groceries and make the muffins. Then I can get some desk work done until the kids get here. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

BTW....Trudy.....I was thinking the same thing. How did I end up being the one to cook the BBQ and bake today? LOL. I told Darrell I don't get any special treatment or goodies on mom's day so at least I want some photos :)

Happy Mothers Day...it was a good for me...no cooking. DH cooked breakfast and DD ans DSiL came over while we ate. Then we took a 2 hour nap! We went to MIL later and had cake. DH helped his brother and worked on the pool and we are now relaxing.

DD and SiL are buying my dad's house down the street, demolishing and building a new house. They will live with us while building. Other DD is living in the my dad's house now. I guess she will come home too! Oh boy- add a 16 yo cat and 2 yo Golden Retriever into the mix with my 2 yo Rotweiller and 3 yo Doberman and 10 yo cat and we have a zoo!!!
