Yay for weekends. Hmm. I think that is what I am supposed to say, right? ;)
I was *exhausted* yesterday. I cleaned really well for my friend. She was going away for the weekend and her sister was watching the kids. She is wonderful but can be critical of the house sometimes. I wanted to do a really good job so there would be one less thing for my friend to stress about. But darn, it was a long week for me with a lot of running around. I was so tired when I got home that I had to lie down for a half hour. I think the one fewer cup of coffee didn't help the situation either. I am wondering if it is really going to be worth it for one day of non-caffeine agony.

I want to finish my nephew's LOs today so I can get started on the uploading and rearranging the pages on Shutterfly. Then I need to move towards my taxes.
Maybe if I keep myself busy with things like that I won't be aggravated that we are getting more snow/ice overnight. Not a lot but still

Do you all have fun plans this weekend? Relaxing in your PJs? Whatever you do-- have a great day!

Nancy- I know we got above freezing too but it didn't seem like much-- maybe upper 30s? We should break 40* today.
I am guessing that it is normal to have some minor "setbacks" with your PT. Were you in pain or sore? I think sometimes our bodies know better than our brains and force our hands to take a short break. I know I struggle with that, but it has to be done, I suppose! :p
The entire Devils Org needs to be put into bubble wrap! Only a month left of the regular season, that went fast!
Scott went in for a meeting with his advisor yesterday and he decided to drop his minor on Plant Studies. It would have tacked on another year to his already longer than usual college plan. The advisor said that he is doing well with the core enviro classes and that the Chem grades shouldn't hold him in the job arena.
I told him that I am happy for him because even though he is struggling like mad right now, he will be able to have a career that he is going to enjoy for the rest of his life.

Felis- that is really neat that your country/culture celebrated International Women's Day. You would think that how America believes it is the best in everything (snorts), we would have more emphasis on it.
Yuck! I hate when that happens, that I want to scrap, have the time to scrap but I can't because I am all blocked. Maybe that will change for you today.

Kay- I am hoping that your day of hibernation helped. Sending love to you~~

Trudy- What a great night's sleep you must have gotten. What fun things did you do with Hunter? High fives to your Gary for doing the wine bottling so you could work on the scrap page!
What would the difference be in using resin instead of varnish on your painting, can't wait to see the result!

Jean-

Big hugs to everyone!

Morning ladies... Happy Saturday! DH and I were both up very early this morning! So not a good sleep for either of us last night :mmph: Oh well we have lots to get done today, our normal Saturday. Running around picking up a few things downtown and getting groceries. Also looking for a new table for the craft room so I have some more space to do my painting and a place to put the card making supplies I will inherit this summer. Here is a photo of my latest painting, I just love the colours in this one and hope to do another with these colours, would love to try one in red, yellow, copper colours also.

Chris - There you go again...pushing yourself too hard and now you are paying for it! Try to take it easy today! I hope that your friend was impressed with the cleaning job you did for her! Hunter and I played ring around the rosey and sang a few songs, "I'm little tea cup", If you're happy and you know it, etc. He is so cute and mimics me with this huge smile on his face! He is so adorable!! I am not sure I can afford the resin that I would like to put on my paintings, it is very expensive and gives it a hard glossy protective coating on the painting, kind of like hard plastic??? Not sure how else to describe it. :noidea: So I might just have to stick with a satin finish or glossy finish varnish instead. I hope you can have a PJ day today and just take it easy for a change and rest up!

Jean - Sorry that your internet has been giving you trouble! Hope we see you here over the weekend and that you are feeling much better and able to eat something yummy!!

Ok I am off to the shower and will check out the local flyers to see if anyone is having a sale on tables. Wish me luck! Have a great Saturday everyone!

Morning, gals. Yes, I am in a much better mood today. Taking 'a day off' and reading most of the day helped a lot. It kept my mind occupied so I didn't dwell on being sad. Going to the library today to pick up a few books and drop off the ones that are due next week. May even make it over to the Senior Citizen Center to do the same.

Oh, Chris... so sorry you over-did it and got too tired. I know the feeling as I take spurts on cleaning, etc then wish I had done it in stages. Glad you got your hair done as that should lift your spirits.

Trudy... I love the new painting! Great play of textures and mixture of colors. I hope you do the next one in those colors you mentioned. Bet it will be spectacular! DH and I used to use resin years ago... yes, it is expensive. Not sure if you would want the shiny plastic look it gives. I usually prefer a clear matte finish for my paintings. It wouldn't hurt to try one to see if you like the look. That is what art is all about... experimenting and playing! Have fun!

Nancy, you have done so well with PT but sometimes the body says I have had enough... and wants to talk back. Listen to it and don't worry.... it will recover and go on to more progress.

I am off to get showered and dressed. Not sure but think the kids will be dropping by later on today. Need to do a bit of picking up and putting away. Can't stand the kitchen island to be cluttered but didn't feel like doing it yesterday.

Good morning, ladies. It's been a good week. Managed to keep up with my work, resigned from one of my Friday client workload so will make less money but the extra free time is much more important to me. I found a great sweatshirt for B that she will love. We're trying to encourage her to wear shirts/sweaters instead of pajama tops all the time. She won't change her pajama bottoms but we'll take what we can get. I've stayed off the computer more and made time to scrap which has really made me happy. I've started working more with clustering and many layers which I haven't done in a long time so it's fun to take a slight shift in scrap style (more clustering less artsy).

Today I'm going to do some baking, hang out with D and Taz and scrap a bit. Tomorrow I'm going for an early morning jog with Taz (after taking a few mths off b/c of the cold weather) and then up to the hospital for the afternoon.

I need to figure out what to have for dinner for the new few days, get groceries and do some household chores. I'm sure the wkend is going to fly by.

Chris - sorry to hear you overdid it with cleaning. Hope the wkend is a bit more relaxing. I'm spending the morning in my jammies, drinking coffee and am going to scrap a bit. Then this afternoon I will get everything else done. Balance right?

Trudy - that painting is gorgeous....my fave that I've seen of your's so far. Hope you find a craft table. I wish you were here, I have the perfect one for you. I have two and will be getting rid of one soon as I don't need two tables anymore in my craft room. I used to teach classes here and have wkend scrap days with friends over but I don't do that anymore so no need to hang onto a second table. If you can find one like mine, they are great for crafting. They are rectangular pine tables with a drop down hinged top on the one end, so you can either have a medium or large sized table. I got mine on Craigs List yrs ago.

Kay - glad you got thru the day and am feeling better. Glad you were able to lose yourself in a book.

I'm getting another coffee and then getting on with my day. Hope you all have a good one.

Just a quick pop in and out. Had fun at the book sale at the library yesterday. Filled a Friends of the Library Bag full of books for $5!!! Still have to unload it and get them listed in my book collection binder. Didn't count but am sure there is over 30 books in it. LOL
Also stopped at the other library and checked out 5 books. Thought I had read all of Lynnette Eason's books, but found a series I have not read.

Got a hankering for a chicken/fruit salad so fixed that in the afternoon. It had plenty of thing to marinate before I had it for supper.... oh, so good. Have plenty left for today and tomorrow.

Hate the time change... it is 7 AM and still dark outside. It will take me a month to adjust to the change. I was hoping that our state would get the bill passed to quit going on/off of DST but looks like it didn't happen.

Yay for Daylight Saving Time! Boo for losing an hour of the day to get it. I woke up this morning and it was of course still dark (I could also hear the sleet falling which added to it being dark). When I looked at my clock at it was "already" after 6 am, I was surprised. Then I remembered DST and I don't know if I was happy or not. ;)
I woke up to another 2" of snow and ice. It should stay well above freezing all day so it should melt. *fingers crossed*

Yesterday was a blah kind of day. Did some housework, laundry, that sort of stuff. Tried to finish the last LO for the album and just couldn't get it done. The page that I am copying has a great layered/stacked frame but it is a little too girlie- has some lace in it. I am trying to recreate the frame from a mix of frames and I just cannot seem to get it right.

Today I have to get ready for a busy week. Dr appt for me tomorrow, food shopping and possibly the vet for W on Tues. Caitlyn's Mast Cell Activation Syndrome is getting very bad and has a Dr appt on Wed that she wants me to go with her. (MCAS is an autoimmune "disorder" that is very common in Lyme patients and is often residual well after Lyme is in remission). Thurs is a Dr appt (on the phone thank goodness!) for PreAdmin testing with the hospital, cleaning in the afternoon. Friday is going to be :bliss: then :faint2:

Wishing all of us a very calm day and week!

Trudy- Oh wow!!!!! that painting is gorgeous! I love those colors too. It reminds me so much of the ocean! You are having way too much fun with this painting technique :p
Did you have any luck finding a table for the craft room?
I enjoy hearing your stories with Hunter so much. What a cutie pie!

Kay- I am glad that the day of reading and hibernating helped a lot. I picked up the first of the Kay Hooper books that you recommended and that one os next on my list. (crud, that reminds me that I have to squeeze in a trip to my library this week too to stock up on some for the following week.)

Rae- good for you for doing so much and staying on track so well this week! :high5:
It stinks that you had to drop a client but your sanity is much more important. I am sure that you have done this already, but have you tried yoga pants with B instead of PJ bottoms? I also have a couple of pairs of "loungewear" pants from Target that could be PJ pants, could be worn outside of the house depending on what I wear with them.
That is awesome that you are able to scrap more and try out some new styles/techniques as well.
Have fun jogging with Taz today and a great visit with B as well.

Hugs to all of you!

Morning ladies... and thank you all for the lovely compliments on my painting! I did one with greens yesterday and I know that some of you have already seen it. I think if I have time today, I will try the other colours I mentioned yesterday. Then I will contact one of the coffee places here in town to see if they will display my art. Coffee on the moon does that and they have an application online, so I will see how that goes. Today is cleaning day and :washing: Sure wish the snow would melt away from the front lawn, it is still covered and DH and I would love to get outside for a bit to do some clean up in the gardens :pout: It is a lovely sunny day, but the temps are still pretty chilly! :hurt: I want our regular weather back!!! I know we are spoiled brats and so many others are still in the grips of winter much worse than we are. :sorry:

Chris - Yes I did find a table for the Craft room, a nice 6ft table with collapsible legs on sale at Staples. We looked at a few other places too, but they all looked flimsy and this one matches the one I already have in my Craft Room and is very sturdy! So I am a happy girl!! If I could just get DH to put up some shelves for me it would be the perfect room! I will have to put a bug in his ear about that :becky: I felt the same way when I woke up this morning, not sure if I was happy or not about DST LOL. If they would do away with it all together I would be happy! You have a busy week ahead of you! I hope everything goes smoothly for you! Poor Cait! I sure wish her the best and hope that she feels much better very soon!

Kay - Wow that is a lot of reading you have in store!
book-smiley.gif
I know you will be in book heaven!! Great that you found a new series of an author that you like too! I am not a big fan of DST either, it was nice when we lived in Saskatchewan that they did not have the time change, it's the only thing I miss about living there!! Well that and the wonderful friends we made there LOL.

Rae - So glad you will be less busy with your work! You deserve the extra time to yourself! I wish I lived closer to you too, I would have popped over to have a look at that table and get some pointers on card making too!! I hope you have a nice jog this morning! A bit warmer out today, but still kind of chilly in the morning! Hope there is no ice out there for your jog! Have a lovely visit with B today and I hope she loves the new sweatshirt!

:hello: to anyone else who pops in here today! I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

Good morning girls,
so your Daylight Saving Time change was yesterday?! Hmm, here is at the end of the month. How strange! Here it's match with the day of Earth Hour and it's really annoying, because that's mean that we have to lose two hours at this day.

Ok now, about the weekend. I don't wanna be cruel, but the temperature here was around 62 and we have mostly actives on outside, as long walks and gardening. It's such a bless to can sit in my garden again! I even haircut Biggie a little. Because with my cold I didn't brush him properly and he had this awful knots. To have so fluffy dog is cute most of the time, but the seasonal fur changes wants care. :pupkiss:
We expect the week to be much colder 39 at some of the day time, and even less at nights, but then next weekend will warm again. Spring is here and nothing can stop it! :horn::humble:

Trudy, the paintings are awesome! I'm sure you'll have success at this cafe! Love this kind of artsy places! Before I lived in such a city and I really miss it! You always have the online stores as an alternative too. My sister have successful etsy store, but I tried this platform and found it too complicated. But there is also ebay and it's local alternatives that offer free listings. It's a lovely art that really needs to be shared!
As for the freezer, defrosting with kettles is so clever! I really need to try it. Last month it takes me few day to defrost. And because we use it only to keep there my cats' chicken dinners meat, often have spots frozen blood which stinks at defrosting, yuck, so disgusting. We was try to defrost one with sea salt, but that was stupid idea because it makes small hole at the metal sheathing and broke the freezer. I think that this one is from some kind of plastic, but I don't risk again.

Chris, busy schedule expects you, indeed. Please try to balance and not overwhelmed yourself, girl! Hope you'll find inspiration for your nephew's album! Poor Caitlyn, get well soon!

Kay, buying of 30 books, WOW, this is amazing and really cool. You must have a huge library?! Or maybe even one of these reading rooms with walls covered only with bookshelves as in victorian british houses. Must be a lovely place!

Rae, extra free time is the best decision as long as you can afford it! I'm never been a careerist tipe, because always worried that this takes too much time from the things that really worth it in our life. Did B liked this sweatshirt? Maybe if you bring her some clothes catalogues this will inspire some wish for change in her?!

Jean, how strange I had problem with the internet connection at the same day.

Nancy, Kythe and the other girls  !
