Happy happy weekend!!! I feel much better today than I did over the last couple of days. Whew, that is good news.

It is brutally cold again here. And my poor plants outside, I think that they are as confused about what they should be doing as I am. It is 17* out there right now, it will be 2* (yes, 2*F!) overnight and then back into the 50's midweek.
But what are you gonna do? :?

I survived my shopping trip. we went to WalMart and got a couple of things that we needed, then over to Home Goods and after that I was *toast.* I was happy to poke around the paint and garden aisles and picked up a seed starter tray and some brush-on chalkboard paint (Clearance for $2!!). Spring def. makes me want to do "stuff" so I am getting into that mode.

Thankfully I didn't have to cook when I got home with my mom making food for Gary.

Today should be a mellow day, off to the food pantry and then relax (ha!!) Actually I would like to catch up on the housework that I have been blowing off. We'll see.

How about you? What good stuff do you have going on?

Nancy- what a crazy difference in temps from last week. Crazy!!! Oh no, that is not good about Luther limping again. Poor boy :( Rub his belly for me. I was trying to catch up on laundry yesterday and I asked Gary to finish the load that I had started. He forgot so when Scott had to get dressed for work at the restaurant, they were still in the washer. Poor kid ended up going in later and wearing them a bit damp. (Men!!!)
Not bad about only losing 1-0 and playing well.

Trudy- The Birthday party is going to be so much fun but I am with you- it is sneaking up and I hope that I am all ready. I feel very behind in what I need to be doing here.

Rae- what a treat for you to get that facial! I let myself go in the winter for the same reason, I feel like a slug. Once the weather turns (or at least stars a bit warm) I will get into the mood to take better care. I had been using Boots No7 for serum and eye cream that isn't too expensive. I have oily skin and I *still* break out so I need to be careful with what I use.
The stuff with Jen seems to be moving well for her, I hope that it continues. Really really sorry to hear that Bailey is not. Caitlyn had a friend text her last night - had possibly OD on pills. he is trans, came out to his parents last week and did not go well. She and Brendan went to his house but was able to get in touch with his brother to find out that he was at the ER and stable. So sad about addiction and desperation. Not a good combo for kids. All good thoughts to Bailey that she can get back into rehab.
Thank you for the hugs, and right back atcha!

Love and hugs and happy thoughts to all of you!

enough with the winter weather already! Hopefully it warms up a bit today! I am feeling sorry for my poor Camila Bush it is blooming, but I am sure its very confused about it LOL!
Chris so glad that you are feeling better! That is great news! Nice to hear that you also survived the Walmart shopping trip and a bonus not to have to cook when you got home! Hooray for your Mom! Hoping that you continue to have a mellow day today and that you enjoy some fun scrapping time!

Nancy - Hopefully Luther is doing better this morning! Enjoy your weekend!!

Rae - How nice to have a facial done on your new slimmer face LOL I have some great products for facial care through Norwex and if you PM me your address I will send you over some samples! I love the products and have been using them for quite a while now all chemical free and very good for sensitive skin!! Let me know if you are interested! Diet is going pretty well I am down another pound so that is 4 lbs in 5 days hoping it continues this way!! Now I need to get back to swimming and other exercise instead of sitting around like a lump in front of my computer! Happy to hear that your DD is doing so well and so sorry about Bailey!! It must be so hard for all of you to watch her self destruct like this!!

DH and I will be heading out for groceries soon then maybe I can convince him to go for a nice walk with me today? Take care everyone and have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. Jen was off to work this morning so we got up and had a quiet time with the animals, while we drank coffee, I finished my book (which I skimmed thru a bit b/c it was a bit slow but I needed to get the gist of what happened and how it ended). It was Stone Coffin by Kjell Eriksson. This was a book prequel to the other one I read a few wks ago and feel that in the second book the writing was a little snappier, I felt more engaged in the story. It was still interestng but not great.

I'll be heading out in a bit to pick up Ava. We'll have her til tomorrow afternoon. Taz will be thrilled. They will enjoy going to the park together this afternoon. Later I'm going to make some dessert for myself this evening. I've been struggling a bit to get more calories into me as I'm not quite meeting my calorie macros for the day. Never had that problem before LOL. I'm anxious to try it. It's a pudding made with avocado, unsweetened cocoa and stevia. I think that if I make little bowls with just an ounce of so I will be able to have one every day wihch should get me in the range I want to be in. I'm down almost 20 lbs (3 wks today) so am happy with how I look and how I feel. So now if the weight loss slows down I'm good with that, I want to focus on heatlhy foods to pre-make and freeze and things for quick topping up of daily macro requirements. I'm going to increase my carbs by 3 and see how that works out. I've got about 10 carbs wiggle room to play with to stay in ketosis for sure and if it depends on if that kicks me out of not craving. So I think 3 is good to start with.

Chris - how nice not to make dinner. I sure am enjoying Jen making dinner some nights. I am so sad about C's friend. I don't know why some people make such a big deal out of gender. It shouldn't matter.

Trudy - great news on the weight loss so far. Hope it's not been a struggle for you. A new thing I started this wk was to start my day off with a couple of glasses of water with a slice of fresh lemon in it. I put it in a carafe the night before (warm water) and let it sit overnight so I can drink in the morning when I wake up. It's good for your liver, your skin and digestion.

I'd better go get some stuff done before I have to go get Ava. I can't wait to take a few pics of her, it's been awhile. I'm pretty sure Noel will be hiding the whole time LOL. I think the size of Ava is going to freak him out.

Have a great day, everyone.

Hi all... I took my 16 yo cat to the vet-she has thyroid disease and has lost alot of weight. We will get her back on thyroid meds tomorrow. She weighs 7.4 lbs down from 10lbs but on the way back up. The good thing is her liver panel is very good which is a problem in old cats. Her appetite is very good. I need to take my 10 yo cat to the vet. A year ago I took him to the vet and he looks and feels like he has gained more weight, so something may be wrong.

Hubby came home at 10:30 from his business trip. DD1 and DD2 with hubby came over right after. We hung around and talked, they installed my new dryer. They started talking about the tank game they play on the xbox and D1 decided to go get the xbox 1 on sale. We went to Best Buy and got it, We got home and DD1, hubby and son in law played the game. 5 hours later...they are still playing!

I hope to get back in the swing of things soon. My mojo and interest have taken a major hike. help!
Rae- Awesome on your weight loss. Let us know how the pudding goes. When DH and I do Atkins, we try all kinds of recipes!
Chris- way too cold for me! Glad you are feeling better
Trudy-I get a facial about every 6-8 weeks and my skin is doing so well.

Good morning and a happy Sunday to you all! Another frigid day here in NJ. 10*. This is nutty. At least the sun is shining since it was cloudy and flurrying all day yesterday.

I did have a mellow day yesterday which was nice. Cait came with me to the food pantry and we were in and out very quickly. The best thing was we got 2 doz of the free range local eggs. Yum!!!!

Today I am cleaning downstairs this morning and then will take some time to rest/relax in the afternoon. I want to make sure that I am all caught up on life so if I need to bring Cait down to visit her friend, I'll have the time and energy to do that. He was admitted to an inpatient facility for attempted suicide and Cait is relieved about that since it is the best place for him to be. She is also looking at the silver lining that maybe his family will realize that a trans son is better than a dead "daughter." She baked him brownies when she gets to visit. She is such a good soul. (Proud mamma!)

have a fab day!!

Trudy- I am with you on the weather. This is crazy and I feel sorry for my plants too. My mom was telling me how the maple trees are all wacky with the sap production and that they are expecting a huge decrease in syrup production, up to 90%.
Woah!!! look at you losing that weight too!! Good for you!
Did you get your Gary to walk with you? I am hoping that when the weather is warm enough for me, my Gary and I can take the pups out together.

Rae- I hate when I feel the need to finish a book even if I am not enjoying it. But I do it all of the time anyway. Let me know how the pudding tasted. Cait is trying very hard to eat healthier and she loves avocados and chocolate. I wouldn't think of them together...

Positng to let the dogs out.... BRB!

YIKES!!! It is freezing out there! Poor dogs ears are chilled right through and they were only out for a little while. One of the things I wanted to do today was to set the self-clean on my oven. At least that will keep the kitchen warm LOL

Sharon- Poor kitty, will she takes meds for you easily? I hope so. I can't imagine having such a tiny cat to begin with. Heather aka Kibs aka Catzilla is 16 lbs. Floyd was 15 but I think he has lost a little weight since we switched to them a weight maintenance food.
haha! Too funny about the DD's and the DH and the SIL all playing x-box.
I wish I could help on the lost mojo. I am in that rut myself.

I better get rolling along. Not that I want to but I should. Bah humbug and stamps my feet.
xoxoxo!!!

good morning - well yesterday was crazy. I went with my youngest so he could get some stuff to furnish his new space. It is just one room but it is his first away from home and I am so happy for him. He did not want to take his child hood furniture which I can understand though it is in awesome shape. Well IKEA is just remarkable - it has so much - everything! It was fun to go through the whole store. We got there about 10:30 and did not get out until 1:30 pm. We found the L-couch/bed right away but we went in thinking he wanted a bed but after seeing the beds he loved the idea of the couch. Then found a small TV stand and desk. I had him measure his room so we were able to take all the dimensions of the tags and see if they fit. Now he has to put it all together! My oldest son has the big Ford truck so he was able to come and take all the boxes. They took all the stuff to the apt but then they forgot to bring back what I purchased. Bummer. Woke up this am to 14 degree weather and even worse with wind chill. It should get to the 30s by late afternoon. I really do not like this in March. If it were Dec or Jan it would be expected but not this. Today is Luther to doggie bath and then off to the Rock for an early game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. So far my team has lost 4 in a row all by just one goal. Very sad to be close but just not enough. But I am loving my new players, they are bringing a lot of energy and skill. I think they will be awesome.

Chris enjoy your relaxing afternoon after the cleaning. That is so sad about Cait's friend. As much as the child needs help I also think the parents are in need of counseling. Cait is a good soul! And you should be proud.

Trudy crazy weather every where. Glad you too are losing.

Rae bet Taz was excited for Ava. Hope Jen had a good first day! That first experience is so important.

Sharon hope the kitty does well taking her pills. And I know what you mean about the playing of videos game for hours. I love the new Lego games but can only play for at most 2 hrs but my sons can play and play. Me I would rather be scrapping.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Woke up to 5" of snow on the ground. Our weather is crazy. Usually by now there are some buds on the trees and I've seen a few budding flowers, dahlias (I think). Now snow again. The dogs have had a blast, nonstop running, tug-of-war and wristling but they do take time to stop and stare at the cat LOL. Ava is so gentle and quiet around Noel. She stops about 2 ft away and just sits or stands still, watching, with her tail wagging. Noel won't come any closer though. He's never seen a big dog like that before LOL. Jen saw a few apartments yesterday and one she really wants and it's only 5 minutes away. He'll be checking references today and they seemed to have a good chat so fingers crossed, hope she gets it. It's a bit tricky with her only just having gotten back to working again as she was off for school and taking care of Bailey for so long so here work record sucks for short term but she has good credentials long term. Bailey went into treatment on Friday but she's out already this morning, she wouldn't stay. They wouldn't let her smoke. I think that's stupid. Yes, smoking is not good for you but when you are in detox from addiction I think whether you need to get out for a few cigarettes a day should be so insignificant compared to what they are trying to do there. She just can't deal with not smoking as the detox is pretty brutal and that and a sweet drink is her lifeline. Poor girl. I am just fuming. So what...they would rather she go back out on the street and do heroin and other things rather than have a cigarette? I am so frustrated with our resources here in BC. Sorry to rant but I am just so frustrated. She needs help but nothing is working for her. So all I can do is love her and pray that things work out somehow.

On a brighter note, Jen is still loving her job, they love her, she is off today, and then working almost full hours next wk so her part time is already almost full time. Today I have to work, do a bit of CT stuff and take Ava home later.

Chris - the avocado pudding was delicious! I added a splash of cream and a splash of praline SF Torani syrup to the recipe. It made enough for me to half it for two snacks. The avocado is high in carbs (around 8-10 for a whole one) so that's a big more than I want to have at one meal. But it was so good that I could have eaten the whole thing :)

Nancy - yes, Ikea is great for affordable furniture. Hope Luther has a good bath and enjoy the game later.

Finally both dogs have laid down so I am going to take advantage of the quiet and get some work done. Have a great day, everyone!

Morning ladies... I am starting to feel the effects of the Keto flu a bit today so I think I might need to up my fluid intake even more. I will wash away with all of the water that I drink. I also should get myself some magnesium supplements and read a little more as to what else I can do to stop this yucky feeling! So I am busy today with some housework and some errands then I hope to get some pages done for the upcoming birthday! So much to do, so little time to do it in! DH always has something else in mind when I try to spend too much time on the computer. Hopefully back to swimming this week also. Sorry not feeling that well right now so I will try to come back for personals later on today! Please know that I send hugs to all of you! I appreciate you more than you know!
