I would loooove to say that I got to sleep in, but I didn't. Darn shoulder and hips kept waking me up. Even though I slept poorly, I am in a better mood. Whew! No reason *why* I am in a better mood but I will take it. :)
I called the Dr office to make sure they were open before I drove all the way down to get my contacts. The receptionist was so cheerful on the phone and I didn't realize how much that mattered. I got there and said that I knew it was corny but that her voice cheered me up. Then she told me that I made her day- so a win-win in the Pleasantry Column.

I was able to go through the Font Organizer I am using now and grabbed some screenshots to share here. It took me forever to figure out how to take the screenshots. I use a very old version of SnagIt and had forgotten how to get it to do a timed-screen cap. But now I know. (Will I remember the next time I use it? 8-Ball says "Not likely")

Who has fun plans this weekend? Not thing much happening today and my parents are coming here for bagels tomorrow.

Sending love to all

@BrightEyes Glad to hear that Chari did well yesterday! I hope that continues throughout today as well. I am positive that she is happy to have to take care of her.

@bcgal00 Oh wow- I am getting emotional reading about all of the last minute things going on with the move. It has to feel like a roller coaster. Take good care of yourself - so much to process, good and bad. BIG hugs!!
The defib part of the pacemaker is what is holding her back, in spite of knowing that if she doesn't have it and she needs it, she dies. We need that frusty smilie here.
Sorry to hear about your Hefty Bags, you have much more right to them than I do. I bet you feel like you could sleep for a week if you had the time.

@taxed4ever Argh!!! That stinks about the house being sold before you got to look at it. That seems to be happening around here too. Sam's family has been struggling with the same problem (they have to move because her older sister is due in June and there is not enough room where they are)
Is the Agent going to keep her eyes open for something similar? It is a good sign that ILs were willing to look- that seems kinda huge, right?
Oh yeah, I see it- the Agent has you in her sights :/ I hope that you don't get bombarded. Good luck with that!
IT is so hard for older people when they have so many different health issues, you would think that the Drs would give her a write-up to hang on to. Her cardio does, and the kids' Lyme Dr always did and that was such a help. You know
I offered so many times to go to my mom's appts with her. At least now she knows that she has no choice in the matter.

@Cherylndesigns heheh, yeah I know you tried to find me a nice solid brain, I appreciate that .:D
Hope you had fun puppy sitting!!!!!!
We "lucked" out, all of our dogs were older (H, Ray, W were all between 6-7 months) and J was 3 months so the worst of the puppy puddles were over. Hope you stocked up on towels and Nature's Miracle. But you do have that cute puppy belly to pet!!

To many of you to tag who haven't been here in a while, but I hope that if you are reading this, we miss you!!

Happy Saturday everyone! What a nice surprise to see that both Betty Jo and myself got a Gallery Standout this morning! What a honour!! It made my morning! It is cloudy and rainy today, so I will have to put my raincoat on for our running around and doing grocery shopping today. I have a few cards to make for up coming birthdays, would love to scrap another page today also! Seems my mojo has found its way back home to me LOL. I wonder how long that will last?? Not much else happening around here today except the usual weekend stuff. I plan on making eggs Benedict for brunch (no biscuit) as I have some left over Hollandaise sauce to use up. The real estate lady sent me a couple of new listings for the In-Laws, but I think they were so disappointed by the no show the other day that they are stepping back a bit. One of the new listings is an amazing place right on the Ocean in a Strata so there would be no yard maintenance, heck I would love to look at the place for myself LOL. But it is not really close to either us or SIL Linda, so it probably would not be a good fit.

@faerywings - I am happy to hear that you are in a better frame of mind today! Yes a cheerful voice on the phone can make all the difference in the world! We all need to be more cheerful to each other! I hope that you find something fun to do today! My day will be busy with my Gary and now that he has lost so much weight, he is even more energetic and is trying his best to keep himself busy with things to do around the house. So far he has been pretty good for staying out of my hair this morning, but the day is young LOL. Our fun thing to do today is to find a new faucet for the prep sink  . The old one is falling apart and the handles keep coming off of it LOL.

Hope you all have a more exciting weekend planned than I do!!

Good morning ladies. So much to do and so little time. LOL Let's see...5 weeks from today, we leave for Europe. It makes me feel a bit queasy just saying that. Not because I'm not looking forward to it but because I have so much to do between now and then. Spent a couple of hours on itinerary this morning. Going to try to hammer that out this week. I'm doing a day by day itinerary. We have reservations for a full day bus tour to the Keukenhof outside of Amsterdam---that's where the massive tulip fields are. On the way, we will tour the countryside and a couple of small towns. See windmills, stop and watch clogs being made, stop at a cheese factory. It sounds like a packed day but it should give us a chance to see some of the countryside in addition to the city. We have family photos scheduled for Paris and we are seeing My Fair Lady in London (with Vanessa Redgrave).

But before I can spend too much time on Europe, we (Brian and I) are heading to Orlando tonight to see Garth Brooks at Camping World Stadium. I am SO excited. The kids are working both days but different hours so the dogs will only be home alone for 5 or 6 hours. I am 100% ready for this.

Yesterday was sad. I took Decker back to boarding. Didn't think we should have all of the dogs here alone for that long while we weren't here. Usually, when we were leaving them home for awhile, we put our two upstairs and shut them off from Decker and I didn't want to do that for a couple of long periods for two consecutive days.

The visit with the potential foster family wasn't good. There were a lot of new things going on for Decker. The grandmother, her son, and her daughter plus two grandkids. The youngest grandson is 9 and I think on the spectrum which caused Decker to be stressed. This family doesn't have a lot of dog experience and didn't pay a lot of attention to Decker's reactions. Just think boarding is safer all the way around. I sure hope that the adoptive family will get him into their home by next weekend. I really hated leaving him...made me really sad.

Anyway, let me catch up on personals. I have been wondering about everyone.

@faerywings I am so sorry that your mother had a bad experience with the doctor. I will tell you that I really didn't like the first doctor that I found...the whole office just didn't communicate! And they didn't like that I wanted answers and had questions. It felt that they were rushing me into the experience with minimal explanation. I am so glad that I went to Mayo for a second opinion. That doctor spent an hour on the phone answering every question I might have. Glad that you are there for your mother. And, yes, as you can probably tell from above, I am SO ready for this weekend. There are only a very few photos that I can't identify at least most of the people. But I realized that I am at the end of the line for people who could do that and I need to get these documented. Thank goodness for Shaun's project kicking my butt into gear.

@taxed4ever the place on the ocean sounds divine...but maybe not quite the solution. It is too bad that the one near you went so fast! At least here in the states, particularly down where we are, the market is still insane. Hopefully your in-laws will get over that disappointment and decide they really want to do something.

@BrightEyes so happy to hear that Chari got along so well. Hopefully they have given her something to control the pain for the next few days. Good job practicing in advance.

@bcgal00 wow! Five days isn't long at all. Soon you will be all settled in the new place.

@Cherylndesigns that puppy is just the cutest thing. The pictures on your FB made me laugh. You have some great scrapping material now! I hope that puppysitting went well yesterday. Puppies are exhausting.

Ok...got to get cleaned up and packed so we can get on the road! I think it should be much warmer than Billy Joel but will still pack a jacket. Talk to you tomorrow!

Late getting in this morning. We both slept until 8AM. The nerve block finally wore off this morning and Chari could move her toes... but now she can feel the pain much more than yesterday. Looks like she will be staying in bed most of today. Not sure but think her 2 sons and hubby will be down this afternoon with a small cake to celebrate that her youngest son graduated with his BS this past week. His virtual graduation ceremony was at a time that he was working.. so she wanted to do something to mark this special event.

While Chari was resting yesterday afternoon, I spent a couple of hours cleaning out my huge drawer in the kitchen that holds most of my kitchen tools (knives, spoons, spatulas, rolling pins, can openers, etc). The drawer is a wide as 2 normal drawers and holds huge amount of stuff. I moved a bunch of duplicates into a bin and put it in the pantry; then put a bunch of stuff that I won't use again into a bag to donate; and then pitched a bunch. Wow... it is so nice to open the drawer and be able to see everything separated in drawer divider bins and find what I am looking for right away. It all started when she had asked me earlier in the week if I a medium length knife... as I had paring knife length and long knives and chef style and the only mediums length was for cutting tomatoes one and steak knives. I knew I had one but couldn't find it the drawer. It was time well spent and I smile everything I open that drawer now.

Good afternoon allI.

I.am.exhausted.today. Puppysitting was even harder than I remembered. Ellie is only 8 weeks old, so there were puppy puddles for sure. I swear, I just took her out and she pottied, then I'd bring her in and she'd do it again. She got a drink, then proceeded to put both front feet into the water bowl. Then we had a couple of "sessions" on the leash. Can I just say that Ellie's a "character"? She was here from about 5 to 10 whew that's a long time! I also had Lila - I THOUGHT she would help Daisy entertain Ellie - WRONG! All she did was growl at Ellie and then jump up on the couch. I put them all outside and let them run until they were exhausted, then put Ellie in her crate and she went sound asleep. I'm really sore this morning from wrangling Ellie all evening. It was like Animal Farm around here - complete with the cat joining in on the party. He finally got in the top of the tiered flower box and hid from Ellie. He wanted in on the action but wanted his own space.

Chris @faerywings glad you're having a better day. isn't it wonderful when people are nice??? I'm glad you both made each other's day. I have to say that people are really nice out here. We're not used to that, coming from Michigan and then they weren't always nice in Florida, especially at doctors' offices. I'm glad you're going to go with your mom from now on. She needs somebody to go with her.

Linda @LSlycord have a wonderful time at the concert tonight! Sounds like you're going to be busy with your itinerary but it sounds wonderful so far.

Sending hugs to all.

Happy first weekend of spring. Here it is snowing! Daffodils are in bloom but now bowed down in snow. That is really pretty common though. Had a mammogram yesterday with normal results reported by evening. Do you remember when they were on x-ray films? No same day turn around then. This is sort of a holiday for me I guess as it's the one Saturday I don't have a genealogy meeting (unless there's a fifth Saturday as there will be in April then I get two off). However, genealogists in the UK, US, Australia & NZ are doing 24 hours of talks. Viewing is free, but they're asking for donations to aid the Ukraine. One of my fav speakers will be on at 8:00 pm ET and you can read about it on her blog: https://www.legalgenealogist.com/2022/03/26/today-now-for-ukraine/.

Chris @faerywings so nice you have a better mood. Sorry you're coming in to a bigger role in your mother's medical adventures, but she obviously needs you. You are going to need a boatload of patience though.

Eva @tanteva hope you are having a peaceful weekend. Love the new avatar!

Linda @LSlycord know you'll have a great time at the concert. Such a shame things aren't working well for Decker. As your chain to the trip grows shorter, I know something will have to be resolved. Exciting to be planning all your itinerary.

Cheryl @Cherylndesigns hope you've recovered from the exertions of puppy-sitting and the house and animals have too. Being cute only goes so far apparently! Those kittens also sound adorable.

Kay @BrightEyes Congrats to the grandson's graduation. Hope your DD is up for a little celebration. I can imagine how nice the reworked drawer is.

Trudy @taxed4ever how lovely to get the GSO! For sure your mojo is shining. I was amazed your ILs were interested in the new place. That would be such a big step. Sad it didn't have a chance. Have fun running around with your MG. Loving hearing how much better he is doing. At this rate he really won't want to retire anytime soon.

Felis @felis how are things with you? Are you crocheting? Miss you here.

Playing catch up this weekend, both when it comes to scrapping and work. Nothing like postponing everything til last minute, right?

Next week we are having some extra meetings at work due to changes in routines, and I've had these papers I needed to read in preparation for weeks. You know me ... I've finished half of them this morning, and will have to read the rest tonight or tomorrow. Meeting's on Tuesday (& Friday) + working on Thursday. On top of this ... I have some CT stuff I need to have done before end of the month ... which also is on Friday. YAY!!!!

Back to PSE .... LOL

hey there, O-zies!!! I am glad that I have it straight today, that it is Sunday. All day yesterday, I swore it was Friday. (again, none of this actually matters LOL. It is just nice to know I am on the same page/date block as the rest of the world.

Go me! I went for a long walk with my friend across the street, probably around two miles. Just around the neighborhood but it was good to get out and talk and breathe some (chilly/damp) air. That was a good part of my day, made me happy. I spent much of the morning tidying the house and catching up on laundry. My parents are coming up for bagels - Tom is here so hopefully, they will behave??? My mom seemed fine when I talked to her yesterday but ya never can tell, minute by minute *winks*

I can't get over that we are almost at the end of March. It doesn't feel like April is right around the corner (Tomorrow we are going to be in the 20s!) but it has to warn up eventually. I have to say, I love that Scott gets just as excited by plants as I do (probably more so, considering that is his career path heh). He was looking out the window and yelling happily about the forsythia blooming, The buds are just starting to open. I put some money away that I got for Christmas so I can buy some plants - I can't wait!! I also need to buy some more top/potting soil. It's all I want in life, to play in the dirt. It looks like the weather won't cooperate for Scott and me to go on a hike before he goes back to work FT so he offered to meet me one day at one of "his" parks. No one has to know that he is showing his mom the trails as opposed to any old hiker. He's a good kid.

Have fun today!

@taxed4ever Congrats on the GSO! I saw Betty Jo's on FB but I don't think I saw yours. I am going to pop into the Gallery. (You should link it here so everyone can see it!)
That really stinks about the Real Estate Agent, I can see why your ILs are stepping back. I hope that they are able to work past it - maybe with a different agent. So happy that your mojo is back! Mine is too- a tiny bit. I did another page for Christopher's book and am working on a double page one, so I only have 4 more pages to go.
Did you find a new faucet? Any chance the old one is a Moen? They will send you replacements for free. We had to have a showerhead, as well as our sink faucet, replaced. They shipped it right on out to us.

@LSlycord I saw a few of your pics on FB- you must have had a fantastic time!!!
That is really exciting that you are also getting so close to your EU trip. I know you said before but what are all of the countries you are going to?
Poor Decker, and you all. :( Realistically, the other foster family sounds like it would have been a bad experience for him and will make it harder for the adoptive family. I hope that he finds a wonderful home, he deserves it. You are such a good family too, I can't imagine how emotional it must be. xo

@BrightEyes Congrats to your GS on graduating! How is Chari today? I have only ever had 4 surgeries, but my ankle was by far the hardest to recover from even though it was probably the "easiest"
I hope that she is doing much better today! Look at you all organized, much easier to see what's in the drawers. Safer too when you reach in looking for a knife. BTDT ;)

@Cherylndesigns Puppies are a lot like babies. LOL! Gotta say, the image of her with her paws in the water bowl-- made my LMBO. You were brave having Lila with you too but I am NOT surprised you are exhausted!
When I went to college in central PA, it was so different than being in NJ. NJ isn't known for being super-friendly so it would freak me out that strangers would say Hi walking on the street.

@scrap-genie Nooo!! It snowed by you??? We *might* get some flakes tomorrow but I am hoping not. I hope that is all melted by now. Always good news when the mammos come back all clear. :)
I bet the genealogists' talks were very informative and for such a good cause too.

@tanteva Love the new avi! Procrastinate?? Postpone?? Whatis that? I would never, ever do that, not in a million years.
Were you able to get everything done that you needed to?

I'd better get in the shower. Have a fantastic day! See you all tomorrow

Good morning! That concert was spectacular! It is amazing to have 70,000 people all singing along to songs. Beautiful night. Just perfect!

We are headed back home and it is a gorgeous morning to be on the road! 61* and sunny. Brian’s driving so I am catching up in the gallery. Since we are about to end March. Seriousl, how does that happen.

@faerywings glad that you got out for a walk. And how sweet is Scott for offering you a personal walk around one of his parks? You raised good kids. Hope the visit with your parents is uneventful. The trip to Europe is 3 nights in Amsterdam, 3 nights in Paris and 3 nights in London. Kind of a sampler platter…lol. I keep telling Sydney that if she spends a semester abroad, I’m going to go too! Not to worry, I’ll be much to busy to bother her.

@tanteva glad to hear that you are feeling like procrastinating…sounds like you are back to your old self.

@scrap-genie I must take a look at that link. While Brian drove yesterday, I spent my time researching the family tree of my great grandmother. I remember her well so finding a written history of her grandfather being one of the first white settlers in the area was sure fun. Got to love the changes made in the digital age—-quick return on mammograms and searching for family through the internet while driving to Orlando for a Garth Brooks concert.

@BrightEyes how crazy is it that an organized drawer can make us feel so good? But I get it…makes us feel like we have some control I guess.

Off to the gallery! Have a great day all!

Another quick in and out while DD is still asleep. The nerve block finally wore off and she had more pain yesterday. She spent most of the day in bed. Her family didn't come over - the plans are for them to come this afternoon. Her youngest son came over to stay with her while I went to the store to get some groceries. Have been enjoying our spring weather... got up to 79* yesterday and may make it to 80* today before the cold front comes in on Monday. Then back down into the 40's. Suppose to have rain on Tues - the day of the post-op doctor's appt. I need to get over to the accountant's on either Monday or Tuesday to pick up my tax package and get the payment made. I hoping that DD will be better so I can leave her alone for the hour and a half it will take to make the trip across town.

I hear her stirring. She will be needing breakfast soon. CYL

Good morning ladies. I'm not online much now, mostly just using my phone to get online a bit here and there. We are both exhausted but just have to push a little bit more, only 2 more days and the movers come Wed morning. Hopefully finish the packing today with just the very last minute stuff to put in a box on Tues night. We need to clean and bring some stuff to the dump on Monday. We might have one more recycling trip to do too.

I'm trying to spend extra time with the dogs as they are feeling out of sorts with all the activity around here. It'll be a long day on Tues when we have to keep the dogs out of the house b/c the housekeepers and carpet cleaners will be here. I'll be taking them for walks around the neighborhood in between quiet time in the car. Then we go to a hotel for two nights, coming back Wed morning at 8 to supervise the movers and then back the next morning to drop off the house keys to the realtor. Then Fri morning we drive up to Kamloops and get our keys that night. We'll stay in a hotel in Kamloops and then will come to the house on April 2nd when the movers will unload (hopefully). The company allows a few days grace for the movers in case they have truck trouble on the way up there but hopefully it will all go smoothly and they will show up bright and early on the 2nd. Telus will also show up on the 2nd so it'll be a busy day. Then the alarm gets installed on the next day. Whew. Things will be crazy until the Monday when we finally will be alone in the house and can start to settle in.

So you may not hear from me until I get moved in. Gotta go get another coffee, get dressed and get at it. BFN

Oh my gosh - where has this day gone??? I can't believe it's 6:15!! I've been working on a blog post today. What a time cruncher. LOL

Chris @faerywings I'm glad I gave you a good laugh about Ellie's paws dumping water all over my floor. My poor floor was a mess by 10 that night. Are you sitting down????? Ava got another lab pup!!!!! She went and got one of Ellie's littermates. A black lab and she named her Sailor. LMBO - I can't even!!!

Ava-and-pups.jpg

I just shared one of Ava's FB posts to my feed. I'm still tired from watching Ellie B. - dang, Great Grandma doesn't know how she'll handle Ellie AND Sailor.

Hugs to all and I'll do more personals tomorrow. BTW Chris @faerywings I thought it was Friday ALL day yesterday, so today is Saturday for me, too. BWAHAHA
