helllloooooOOOO My O-zies!
Happy weekend to all of you.

I had a really awesome time with BFF- we got there at 10.30 and didn't leave until after 1pm. We talked about so many different things and laughed. I am surprised that no one tried to kick us out, especially during the lunch rush, since all we ordered was coffee, nothing else.

Ray seemed to be doing a bit better, Gary was able to keep her out in the LR, supervised. Jaida has been so gentle with her and lets her sleep. She ate a bit better too, and I only had to spoon feed her a bit to get her started. I have been throwing a small scoop of the puppy food mixed in to give her a bit more calories/nutrition too.Glad that I still have it.

Then because no day should *ever* be 100% stress free, Scott came home from a hike furious. He had gone over to the Long Pond Ironworks State Park, which is in our town. It is a historic center and has waterfalls, and a waterwheel, some old village houses that the museum is restoring. We have been back there for walking tours, they do War reenactments. It is a state park for crissake.
Anyway, this is where a 21 yo boy drowned a couple of weeks ago. he and some friends had been cliff diving into the mine shaft which is illegal as well as crazy dangerous. One never resurfaced and they still haven't found his body. Not local kids, but once that came up from one of the cities.
Long story not quite short, Scott was back on one of the trails near the mine shaft when a Park Ranger approached him and gave him a really hard time. He is ticketing Scott and we have no idea for what. There are signs that say no swimming, but that allow for fishing. Scott was smart and took pictures of them on his way out.he is confused at what he did wrong and angry. I suggested that he contact the "Friends of the Ironworks" the non-profit that works on the site. I am hoping that maybe one of them will walk the trail with him so he can show where he was and find out if he were in fact trespassing or if a sign was down or anything. If the Ranger was giving him a hard time, just for the sake of it, he would like to fight this. If he honestly did trespass he would like top know that too.

I scoured the internet this morning looking at DEP ordinances, the Long Pond Ironworks website to see if they have info on laws- basically only open from dawn to dusk/carry-in, carry out. other than that, I cannot figure out what he did wrong either. Sounds like the Ranger was looking for a problem, was accusing Scott of lying, of being rude and insulting his intelligence. I know that none of you have met Scott but you hear enough about to know that he is not that kind of kid. If he was, I would have kicked his ass a long time ago.

Today I am dying Easter eggs with all of the kids. (<~~This is the kind of kid he is-- dyes Easter eggs with his long term girlfriend and mom...grrrrrr!). I need to post this so I can dinner in the crock pot and boil the eggs.

Morning ladies... Goodness Chris, what kind of an a@$hole did Scott meet up with?? He must have had him confused with someone else!! I hope that Scott can find out WTH is going on with this guy!! I know that he would never be like that to anyone, I do not know him personally, but dam it I know that you raised him to be a kind and respectful young man! I would like to give that Park Ranger what for :boxing: :rollpin:

Today it is sunny again, well at least for the time being and DH and I are heading out to hit the local farm market and to the grocery store to pick up a few things for Easter Dinner with my brother and SIL we have not seen them very much since they returned from Australia so it will be good to catch up with them again! I posted pics of my before and after project on yesterday's thread, hope you get a chance to check it out!

Good morning, ladies. Had a lazy morning, drank coffee and read my book. Then I watched the video link Anna posted in Heather's thread about sketching. Will have to try it out today. I had a brainstorm yesterday. My back has been bugging me a bit and part of the problem may be how I'm sitting on the couch with my laptop and tablet as i try to scrap a bit in the evening when sitting in the LR with my hubs. So I went into my scrap room where I have an old wooden school desk/seat. Hubs and I lugged it up the stairs into the dining room and put it against the wall, across from the TV. Now I can sit properly and scrap on my laptop and there is a pull out drawer to put my paper, pens, etc into. The only one who doesn't like it is Taz. He kept coming over and pawing at my leg and then looking over at the couch. He wants me on the couch so we can snuggle LOL. Spoiled doggie. So of course I took a few breaks and went to the couch to snuggle. Popped into Winners yesterday and grabbed a small distressed wooden box with a lid. That will sit on the end table beside the couch so I can put my reading glasses in there and Taz can't get at them. I'll be heading out this afternoon for groceries for dinner tomorrow. Got the ham and potatoes but need everything else. I'll make the scalloped potatoes first thing in the morning and then can reheat it later at dinner time. Still thinking about what veggie dishes I want. Cream corn (Boris' fave) but I'll make something else too. Need to go look through pinterest for ideas. Got caught up on The Walking Dead and Greys Anatomy last night. Got one challenge post done but need to get the other done today. I'll head out into the garden to clean up a bit too.

Chris - poor Scott, how frustrating for him and I hope he fights and wins against the ticket. Glad to hear you had so much fun with your friend!

Trudy - the cabinet and table look amazing! Have fun at the market.

I've got laundry in and am going to get some chores done now. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

good day - I am very late in posting. Don't know where my morning went LOL. My son was watching TV and saw an infomercial called CIZE - an updated dance exercise. So my son and I went in and got it and did the first 30 min workout this am. It was totally fun. I have no rhythm but who cares it is in my own living room. Also got Luther out for a walk and some play time in the backyard. Also got a page done. Yesterday was good as we saw our rookie goalie pitch another shut out only to lose 1-0 in OT. But for us to keep the Capitals to zero goals was very impressive. It bodes well as our AHL call ups are learning they can play in the NHL with the big boys. Today hockey starts at 1pm and they go until 10 pm starts. I am happy! LOL

Chris that is ridiculous that Scott was harassed in a State Park, especially since he has been there so many times. Hopefully the Ranger's name is on the ticket and he can figure out what the guys problem was. Glad you had such a wonderful lunch! It is sunny here but still cool.

Trudy the photos are gorgeous. What a difference it made. Brightened up the room. I love the black table top! I truly am impressed! Have fun in the yard!

Rae congrats on finding a place to scrap that is good for your back and how cute that Taz wants you on the couch. Luther also like to have people around. Easier to guard that way I guess. My girlfriend and I were just talking about scalloped potatoes and I am going to have to get my recipe out. I forget how good they are. Have fun searching on Pinterest!

Have a great day all!

Happy Easter, ladies!
This year have a big difference between catholic and orthodox Easter, so I wasn't realized that you celebrate it now. :bounce:

Good morning, Happy Sunday, and Easter for those who celebrate that.
It is not a big day for us, but my very Catholic parents must feel some need to have my soul rejoice with them. /semi-snark :D
They are coming up for breakfast, bringing bagels and Italian Easter pie. I will celebrate Easter pie. Yes, I will!!!

What a day I had yesterday. I finished the last LO for Christopher's album and then spent what felt like eons fighting with Shutterfly. It took forever to upload and arrange the pages. Then one LO was low res, so I went back to the psd file to re-save it, and that too was set at 600x600/72dpi. I had to re-scrap the LO, and upload it again. I did figure out and "easy" way to scrap it quickly. I dragged all of the elements onto a new page. and then the 600x600 jpg on top, set the opacity really low and then moved the new layers around to match up as closely as I could.
But Shutterfly was just a horrible mess and I had to take a break or I was going to throw something at my monitor.
I hope that today I can get can get back there and order the darn book.
If it weren't for the free coupons that I get, I wouldn't use them, but free is free...

Ray is doing better, and was moving around a bit, She ended up walking upstairs (not supposed to!) and I was worried if she would be able to get down in her own, but she did. whew! She is eating better too, so that is also really good news.

Scott heard back from the Friends of Long Pond Ironworks and while the guy wasn't really able to help him, that they don't get involved with the Park Rangers, he was going to send Scott's email to everyone on the Board to make them aware of the situation. Even Scott does get fined and can't fight it, he is learning all of the right things to do to advocate for himself.

Hope that you all have a wonderful day! ::grouphug

Trudy- yes, I was pretty shocked at how Scott described the Ranger. Scott has been pulled over twice while driving, and both times, he just talked to the cop and was let go. He *knows* to be polite, even if-- or especially if- he disagrees. He was shook up after the incident and started walking away in the wrong direction. The Ranger accused him of lying again about being back there previously, saying that he obviously didn't know where he was going. WTH??? He is in the woods, harassed by an authority figure who just told him he was getting several tickets and could have been arrested. Uh-Oh, Mama Bear is wakin' up :D

Speaking of bears, I didn't get to see it, but Jaida woke us up at 3 am the other night barking like crazy. Gary looked out the front window and said that he saw the biggest bear he had ever seen, right here on the front porch. last week we got new neighbors across the street. City folk heheh!! They don't know about the need for bear cans and their garbage got hit twice already. I hope that they get on that quickly or this big bear is going to love hanging out here.

OMG!!!!! :jaw:
The table/hutch are freaking AMAZING!!!!!!!!! What a difference!!!! I love them!!!! Now I want to redo my table, like yours!!!!!
Stupid question, how much (roughly) did it cost to get the paints for the table? I don't have a hutch but my table would look great dressed up like yours :)

Rae- lazy days are nice! Sorry to hear about your back acting up. My desk chair is really old, I think it was Gary's, then Scott and I switched, yes, rotating furniture here too. My back has been bothering me from it and I might swap it out with the DR chair for a while again. hahahah @ Taz!!!! Spoiled pupper for sure!
Hope that your dinner is delish!

Nancy- how fun to do the dance exercise video. I used to do Tae Bo way back when, and I have no rhythm either. Gary would laugh at me so much when he would catch me trying to kick and punch at the same time. LOL
Great news about the goalie- hope he keeps that up!!!

good morning and Happy Easter to those celebrate. We are going out to an early dinner so that will be fun. My team the Devils play in Carolina at 5pm so hoping for a win as they played last night and my team did not. Not much else going on. Did a bit of yard work yesterday and my DH finished it up this am so the backyard is much better for Luther.

Chris so glad that Scott stood up for himself. Hope this works out well for him. And Yikes a big bear sounds like a photo opportunity but not sure I want it on my front porch. So glad that Ray is doing so much better. Enjoy breakfast with you parents!

Trudy again I can't say enough how amazing the transformation of your furniture is. I would never even think you could do that. Hope the yard work is going well. I keep thinking that you must be enjoying the rewards afterwards with your stash of wine.

Rae lazy days are awesome!

Have a great day all!

Happy Easter everyone. Looking forward to family coming over for dinner. Bailey is bringing her laptop so I can load an old copy of PSE9 on it for her to try out art journaling. I think that could be very therapeutic for her to express her emotions and thoughts in a creative way. I know PSE9 is really old and may not be great but I figure I'd give her that and if she likes it and thinks it is something she'll continue with then I will upgrade her at some point soon. I need to find a bunch of freebies for her to start with (don't want to spend money if not needed yet). If you have any ideas of places to look for the freebies, message me, I'd appreciate it. She won't want to become involved in forums but maybe through FB or Deviant Art or something we can find some stuff for her. I will be searching for free brushes later for her. I'm not at all familiar with PSE so hope that I can figure it out enough to get her started. I told her to search for youtube vids about digi scrapping. She's really excited about it. Her mom and dad are stopping by the store to get her a wireless mouse to use with her laptop. I'll be hopping in the shower in a few minutes, then need to get the scalloped potatoes in the oven so they will just need to be reheated later at dinner time. I also need to go charge up a camera battery to make sure I can take a few candid shots later. I'm going to indulge in some chocolate and jelly beans throughout the day and Bailey is bringing some cupcakes she baked yesterday (carrot cake with icing). The WW points won't be counted today :)

Chris - so glad that Ray is feeling better.

Trudy - I can't stop thinking about your furniture redo. I have old dressers that I would love to redo at some point. I'll have to remember what you have done.

Nancy - Enjoy the dinner and the game later.

Gotta go get started on my day (yikes, the morning is almost over and I'm still in my jammies). Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Happy Easter everyone ... I'm baaaack!! Miss me?! LOL Got to bed around midnight last night and got up early to go get my girl from the kennels. She's been following me around since we got home. I went out to do grocery shopping get a much-needed pedicure, returning home to find Haddie sitting on her window seat in the kitchen, waiting for me. Bill said she got up there not long after I left. Right now, she's on her dog bed, beside me ... snoring. LOL

Got so many things to catch up on in digiland - like all the birthday celebrations here. Mum didn't have Wi-Fi at her house, so it was grab some online moments when I could. I did manage to do a page or two ... but now i'm ready to tackle a few more before the end of the month. Besides, it will be a nice way to keep myself awake today and push through the jetlag - and it's back to work tomorrow.

--------------------------

Chris, sorry to hear about Ray being ill. :( Funny how animals have a way of picking up when someone is not feeling well - I'm sure Jaida's sixth sense has been kicking in. Good luck to Scott on fighting the ticket ... for whatever he did. wow, sounds like the park ranger was a jerk!

Let's see a show of hands of everyone that thinks Trudy needs to travel to our homes and renovate some furniture for us? ;) The hutch and table look great!
