Just a quick opening up the thread right now.
I had a busy day yesterday and my house smells like a combo of bleach and lemons. I think I wiped every doorknob, handle, lightswitch, railing in my house.

I am off to the FP this morning and then will be home for the rest of-- however long it may be.
:D

I will get back for personals in a bit!

Big wind storm last night and lots without power over on the Mainland and a few places on the Island too. Thankfully not us, hope you have power Rae!!
Chris -good luck at the FP this morning!! I hope the shelves are not too empty at the grocery store today it’s crazy what people are doing!!

I will check back a bit later and do some more catching up, for now I will get busy making my food list and then get DH his breakfast. Have a good morning everyone!

It is almost time to make dinner and I am just getting back here.
It has been a-- a day. FP was done so well. They had it set up so we had to wait outside and they only let one in at a time. We held our bags open and they plopped stuff in and then gave us two pre-packed bags stuffed full of food. I am so glad that I went.
Gary and Cait were getting leashes on the dogs for a walk and since it took me hardly any time at all at the FP, I went with them. J didn't need to be jump-started (Gary picks her up and takes a few steps and sometimes that makes her walk again. Ray even had fun and I cannot tell you the last time we took her on a walk /c she starts to shake.
We worked on a puzzle and then I fought with my dad. (why are men so STUBBORN???)
He wanted to go to mass. what?? Why?? One of the bigger Diocese canceled all masses but his diocese was making it so the sick/elderly were dispensated. And yet he was still going to go and possibly bring the virus to my very high-risk mom-. He wasn't listening to me but finally, Scott talked sense into him.

quick personals and then I am making waffles for dinner :hungry:

Nancy- Scott isn't sure how they are going to handle his labs either. I hope that your H will be able to help the grad students still. what a mess for these kids.

Kay- what a great sleep in, I am sure that your body needs that rest. Any good books that you picked up? I hope that I am good with the couple of books I have now, my library is now shut down too. I did my census info today as well. Nice to be counted!

Trudy- Oh no!! I am so sorry to hear that the trip is off. :( I understand why ours had to be but it has to be so much worse for the kids. I am sure that you will have fun facetime-ing with the boys every day and that will be a huge help to Heather.

Rae- were you able to find any TP? I hope so! That must have been so strange to only have so few people in the theater.

Kythe- doesn't *all* life revolve around our dogs? hahaha! I have to do my PT work in the mornings as well or I won't do them at all.

Kay- it might be that way for a while with your cousin- everything is going to take a little longer I think.

Felis- vent away whenever you need to! Heh, your dad sounds like my dad!!
Enjoy your spring cleaning! Thank you for the support, I am hoping that the party here will keep me very busy and cheery!

hugs!

Was planning on going to the Base Commissary today but when I checked on-line they were asking non-essential people to refrain from coming there. I had wanted to go yesterday but not with the rain/lightening/thunder storms going on. Friend's hubby went and said it was very busy with long lines, etc... so glad I didn't go. So I went to the local grocery... got many things I needed but no milk, creamer and a several other things I really needed. So over to Sam's and they were out of milk/creamer and other things. Bit the bullet and went to WalMart where I was able to get some milk, creamer and other things I needed. I was smart and wore pair of health-care gloves [left over from taking care of hubby]. Have more gloves and wet-wipes in the car now. And I stayed as far away from people as I could... looks like most were doing the same thing. I was surprised at how polite everyone seemed to be and the lines were not long at all.

We have some cases here in the city/state so the governor closed all state schools for at least 3 weeks, libraries, senor citizen centers, events, zoo, etc. She even asked that churches [especially those who have 100+ members] to close. And now the Indian Casinos are closing the gaming areas and concert venues although the hotels at them are staying open. She is doing an up-date every day since Wednesday when the first cases were confirmed here.

Heading to the recliner to get the foot up and rest. Just glad I have a bunch of books so I won't run out reading material. LOL... Plan on staying in and keeping in touch with others via phone rather than visiting in person. The Queen and I decided to cancel the Red Hat Chapter April gathering and will reassess it about the May gathering. CYL

Good morning, girls!
Saturday's grocery shopping was interesting experience. After the whole tense and planning my mom was did based on the news, there is nothing like that at the store. We chose to shop not in the capitol when situation is quite different, but in big city in opposite direction. The only difference with regular day was that customers were asked to stay in row and to keep distance from two shopping carts length between them. I can't explain myself why shopping people are always so grumpy, if you have money to fill up your cart, isnt thats supposed to makes you happy and grateful for your life? Today was even worse, no eye contact, but murmuring, coldness and insulation. I couldn't get out of my head the picture from the plague epidemic way back then, this one:
images

Anyway! Every canned food was on deal, including pet food, so yey, I was able to get what I need and extra for the saved amount, yey fate loves me! We had lovely weather and mom was able to work at the garden. She is much more relief now when see the reality from first touch, not by the screen! I should gardening too, but Spring fatigue catch me  (shh I was napping) !

Jean, love your Pi page, and thank you for sharing the song! Did the musician is part of your hubby H&S group? You'll be classy if you can use Pi ... ups now I want pie!

Trudy, good luck with your shopping!

OMG, Chris, I laugh so hard, YES your dad's story is 1:1 as mine .
Something that really piss me off, is that church here say that you can't go sick at God's home or IF you get sick then you are punished for our sins :mmph: ! Sure!!!

Kay, yes my mom insist for gloves too, we have a lot of them as I need it when fostering sick cats. Also we put our cell phones at plastic bags with zip, so to can use them without touch. I hate plastic use, but everything for her confort! It make sense as the cell phone ended most of the time directly in our beds/ pillows.
Sorry about canceling the Red Hat Chapter!

This is not a good time to be an anxious insomniac!
I woke up around 5 am with the same darn song in my head- every d*** morning this past week. I took it as a sign for how I am- It is The Warrior by Patty Smyth
Shooting at the walls of heartache
Bang, bang, I am the warrior
Well, I am the warrior
And heart to heart you'll win
If you survive the warrior, the warrior

Psychologically speaking, earworms often happen because the brain is trying to fill in gaps, of music or of words. I think it might have been that I heard the song when I was food shopping the other day and now that I reread all of the lyrics, it will be gone tomorrow morning. Anyone want to take that bet? ;)

I already placed my shop from home order this morning. I started it last night because the website runs very slowly on Sundays. When I went to reserve my spot, there was nothing open until Thursday afternoon! I can usually put the order in Sun or Mon and get it the next day. We should be fine as long as are careful with half and half in our coffee. we go through 3 half gallons a week. Scott and I drink our coffee with only a splash but Gary and Cait like their's light.
I have to go pick up Rxs tomorrow so I might run to the back of the store and see if I can grab another container.

We are going to try and do some family-fun activities when we can. Last night we decided to not play a game but we watched The Princess Bride. That is such a fun movie.
Today is going to be working on laundry and getting ready for the party here since I ended up not doing that like I planned yesterday.

Kay- I was reading an article about how DoD is trying to make sure that our military stays healthy too, so I am not surprised that Commissary was closed to non-essential people. Very smart to check online before you made that trip.
I am glad that your Governor is being proactive. Ours has been for the most part as well.
I heard someone say that it is better to overreact now and have fewer cases than underreact and have that curve spike in another few weeks.

Felis- heh, I feel like we are all going to be wearing plague masks, literally and/or figuratively. Good thinking to shop closer to home and away from the crazy crowds.
I think that is what our local diocese is trying to work with the dispensations, they people aren't religiously required to go to mass/receive communion. I told my dad that is God is as wonderful and forgiving as they preach then I think he would be willing to overlook a few missed masses over 80+ years of not.

I guess I should start my day. I shouldn't make it a PJ day because if I start that now, *every* day will be a PJ day! :pound:

Morning, O's. Hope you all are well and stay that way. Thinking about having a PJ day myself, Chris... Sorry that the on-line slot for groceries pick-up is so long but not surprised. I heard that here in town it was a week to 10 days long right now. I got everything done that I needed to do but pay my auto insurance. It is due this week. I went by AAA to pay but just missed them as they closed 20 minutes before I got there. So will do that first thing tomorrow. Will fill up with gas while I am out. Then I plan on staying home for the next few weeks. Thank goodness I have enough of my meds so I don't have to get more for a couple of months... they are from the base and they do 3 months supply at a time. Hopefully this epidemic will be over before I need them.

I am sure this out-break is going to affect my cousin's sale/move. Which gives me more time to finish up what I need to have done before she arrives. Looks like DD#1 has found a rental and should be moving into it before the end of the month.

Time to get another cup of coffee and put my foot up. It is not happy that I was up on it for so long yesterday. CYL

Morning ladies... Well grocery shopping was a different experience! People are starting to panic here too and the shelves were pretty much emptied of canned goods and pre-packaged things like pasta etc. Glad I don't eat either or these. Wonder what will happen when they run out of fresh produce?? Guess I will be losing a few more pounds! Right now I am not too worried, we have a pretty full freezer and lots of veggies etc. Neither one of us really eat too much fruit, mostly berries but those don't last for too long do they? I will have to stock up on some frozen berries I guess. I need to hit Staples today and get some more Titanium White paint for my painting and should probably see if I can get some more creamer too. Today will be mostly housework and :washing: and the sun is shining so hopefully we can get into the back yard and start cleaning up all the pine cones and fallen branches. It will be good to be outside!

Chris - That is so funny about the song running around in your head every morning! I have had the same song in my head every morning for a week too! Only mine is Allentown by Billy Joel. Not sure what that is all about LOL. Had a dream this morning too that I was at school and I was late to catch the last bus home. Everyone kept interrupting me as I was trying to get dressed and I kept putting my clothes on backwards, I was getting very frustrated and mad!! OMG what a crazy dream!! What is going on inside my head?? LOL. Sorry that you have to wait so long for your online order, but I think that it will be the same everywhere, including here :mmph: Hope you have a good time with the family and that you get ready for O's party today. I need to do a few more things too.

Felis - Glad to hear that your Mom has been enjoying her garden time! Good idea to stick a little closer to home and do your shopping in the not so busy area! Happy to hear that you were able to get your pet food for a good price! You are lucky as canned goods are getting hard to find here. Hopefully your good luck continues! Enjoy your spring weather!

Kay - I sure hope all this craziness is over before you need to refill your meds! Good plan to cancel your Red Hat gathering. Not surprised that the base is asking others to stay away. My son was supposed to go to military function next week and that has all been cancelled too. Told to stay home and work from there, so at least the kids will have their Dad with them during the time off of school! Sure hope that you can get your foot to feel better today!

 to Jean, Rae and Nancy!! I hope you are all ok and keeping busy with something interesting today! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Good morning, everyone. I've been busy and not home much this wkend. I'll be heading out to spend the afternoon with B soon and on the way back will stop at a few stores to see if we can find any TP. I tried Fri night and 7 am Sat but no luck. There is none to be found here. Shelves are getting bare and lots of food items are completely gone.

I spent yesterday at the bird sanctuary and enjoyed the quiet, the sunshine and the birds. I needed that. Chris needs to get in the dirt to center herself, to feel peace...I need to be out with the wildlife, taking photos. It worked. After wandering and sitting for about 6 hrs I felt great, tired and cold, but great. Loaded almost 1000 pics last night and will have fun going thru them to see which I might send in tomorrow for the wildlife contest going on in BC.

We're heading out to see B soon so I need to get off the computer. Hope you all have a great day.

Trudy....btw.....our power went off 3 times yesterday, once while I was away for the day and then twice around dinnertime. Then it was fine.

Hello girls!
Our government asked us to stay at home as much as it's possible for the next 2 week, so to can slow down the spread of the virus, and hospitals to can take properly cares. We aren't good in accepting of autoritets, but oh my, so many people brokes this note at Sunday. It was necessary policemen to comes and made a reminder that is not allowed just to sit and talk during drink coffee and everybody that is not out to shop, pet walk or working is request to go home. Was good that the rain start, to empty the streets! Two weeks of stay home, watch all shows you always delay, read books. It's so easy, but people are so scared to stay alone with their empty houses and empty lives, so many people wondering how to overshopping, and where to waste their time. At the dog park situation was little bit different, we wave one each other and yearling from distance: "Hey, What's up!", thumbs up, and everybody point out in which trail prefer to go :) , then hurry up . I'm so proud of my mom, she takes the morning walks, and looks much much more reassured and self-possessed! She even insist that she never has been scared just want to be very careful, yeah, OK  !

Did you watched these videos where famous people wash their hands? It's makes me very bad impression that they wash only to the wrist of the hand, when correct is to remove all watch and bracelets, and to wash your hands till the elbow. I think lots of people mistaken that the shirt's sleeve protect this part, but if you set yourself a goal to notice will see that most sleeves going up and the naked skin above your wrist often touch different objects during the day. It's really sad when celebrities misinform their audience! :???:
It's rainy whole day so it was a nice lazy day.

Chris, I wish there's a way to take down part of your stress!!! I tried to respond you immediately when I saw you're online, but I'm not sure do music can helps you at the same way as it's works for me. I'm so exciting for the O party and hope you are right and it will distract you! Enjoy the family time, the dogs and gardening! I understand that to be an anxious is condition and then nothing can help you outside of you, but darn, I hate so much to feels so helpless!

Kay, oh no, now the house market will be just awful! Hope your cousin will be able to come and let the estate agency to deal with that!

Rae, your escape at the wild sounds awesome! Good luck at the photo contest !

Trudy, hope your weather is stayed good and you was able to be outside!
