Happy Saturday! I am glad that I typed in the (correct!) date. It will remind me that I have to call my brother today for his birthday. 54. We are gettin' old. *G* I was able to finish his card and am *thisclose* to running out of ink. Refills are on my birthday list that overheard Caitlyn calling in to my mom. They are heading up to visit tomorrow morning and I am passing the card along to them with some of the Christmas cookies as a gift. They will be seeing him later that afternoon. Win-win.

Did everyone have a good day? Mine was ok. I struggled with my computer for a large portion of it. It locked up on my three times. This is getting worse and I can't figure out what to do about it. Gary suggested that we strip it down and reinstall everything. That makes me worried that I could lose PS. It is a b**tl*g
version from many years ago (CS 5) and if it is unable to be reinstalled, I won't have anything to scrap with. I get so aggravated that CC is now subscription.
For those of you who have Elements, how is that? That could be an option since my birthday is coming up.

It never really rained and Gary trimmed the hedges and when he was done I cleaned up the clippings. Caitlyn and I worked on another puzzle- this one is really difficult. Other than that, quiet day.

Today looks to be gorgeous. The food pantry is first then I am off to the dirt. That is one thing that I like about yard work, there is always something to work on. Weeds keep growing back ha!

Gratitudes:
-Gary cooked dinner last night
-the generosity of people who donate
-that my hubby is the best IT guy around

HUGS!!! xoxoxo

Nancy- Where does the surgery have to take place, in the hospital? Very smart of the Dr to do his own testing.
That is awesome that the Devils answered another of your questions, that has to feel good. Do you think a lot of players will start to practice together again? The way other countries are dealing with this are good options and I hope that they can be implemented here. FWIW- I think the drive-in by me is supposed to open soon.
Kudos to your town having a march too! I hear ya about having to be careful with DH. Thanks for not being scared of me when I get the soapbox out. Although you see my Twitter feed, I am 100% tame here compared to that ha!

Trudy- Yay for Mason having a good b-day! These kids seem so much more resilient than we adults give them credit for. he is going to be thrilled to have more b-day fun this weekend, esp with the turtle.

Jean- The other day, I was wondering if I should take a break from the O, step down as a Cheery-O for a couple of weeks. I have that same lethargy and lack of motivation. But if I don't come here, *then* what would I do? I am glad that you popped in and I am happy that I don't scare you either. :D
What a mess with the car- sorry that it took so long to get fixed and I don't even want to think of the $$. Will insurance cover any of it? I hope so.
Caitlyn already sent me a Doc of recipe ideas and they should be fun to make. We are also doing a Candy Bracket and the kids want to Trick or Treat :pound:
It will be silly for sure.

Felis- what cute kitties!! The orange one looks big, is he?
How ever your meditation works for you is perfect!
We have that issue here with people buying exotic pets and then letting them loose when they get too big or are too difficult to handle especially snakes. A couple of years ago someone let a snake loose in a state park/lake and there were rumors it was an anaconda. It wasn't but it was a very large snake.
Such good news that you are back at work even for however long the contract is for. Goo luck with it, and that the clients are nice about any adjustments.

I am of to wake up Cait. HAGD!!

morning - the storms were weak last night but it did rain steady for a while in the afternoon - today there will probably be more. It sure makes things very green. The final season of 13 reasons has started. I need to see how it ends. Got some scrapping done so that was good. My son stopped by last night and he brought us spiked ice cream mango/tequilla and peach/wiskey. It is not over powering with the liquor but it is there. My son had on the AC for Luther and it does make it better for him.

Chris sorry about your computer. My gives me a warning saying I don't have enough memory. I have to get stuff off and delete files but hard to do. Wish your brother a happy birthday! Have fun outdoors!

Trudy that party seemed so good. I bet he will have fun today and he will get that turtle. You will have fun listening to the stories.

Jean glad you got out and saw the birds. Weather good.

Felis love the photo of the kitties. Looks like weather is good!

A lovely day here but a bit cool. Have to enjoy it as they are threatening 90 on Tuesday. I told you about the car and yes, insurance covered it but with a $500 deductible. I didn't tell you about the desktop computer. Sunday evening it gave a noise and shut down. Totally. DH took it in but they weren't going to even look at it until next week. Meanwhile he is using my old laptop for email, ebooks, web browsing, etc. Just as well that we had just finished up the answers to Puzzle Up. This morning was the meeting of the genealogy committee for the historical society, via Zoom. Their library will gradually start opening, first with a couple staff members going in and at some future time eventually allow a few people in by prearrangement. The plan is still a work in progress. Nothing much going to happen for a long time.

Chris, I shudder at your computer struggles, but hope it keeps on working. I don't use either PS or PSE, so no help there. Loving the LOs from your theme nights. I guess you just keep doing things like the pink balloon and work in the yard -- plus coming here to share with us.

Nancy, it's so cool that you've gotten your questions asked twice. You've got really nice pages for May. Still hard to believe June is flying by. And that spiked ice cream sounds sooo good.

Felis, thanks for the outdoor kitties photo! Looks inviting for sure. Hope your job lasts a good while and that you can find something else when needed. Wonder if you'll get out of the shopping again.

Oh man, I needed to let that out. I am fine, just frustrated. I am aggravated by the virus. I know I have *nothing* to complain about compared to so many others. But I hate how it is limiting from doing things I feel like I need/want/should be doing. I need to physically go to the supermarket. This shop from home is making me bonkers. Searching the Shop Rite website is insanity. Searching for orange juice came up with dog foods. I want to be able to walk into a store and grab my box of wine. I should be able to go to these protests. Everything has to be balanced by the risks to my family and it is hard to wrap my (very) stubborn brain that I can't, not just for my sake but the rest of my immune-wacked family. Just last week Caitlyn had another immune-overdrive response that lasted for so long-- her eyes swelled up for three days, her eczema flared and hives all over. We suspect that the stress of finals and then Titania threw it all off.

As I said, I know that this is minuscule to what so many others are dealing with but crap it is making me angry ATM.

Yesterday was nice. FP was helpful-- coffee, chicken, eggs, and a couple of cans of dog food. Thank you so much, people who donate.
We had a Zoom call with the family for my brother's birthday, then I was outside for 3 hours. I am still cleaning up the patio, trying to get rid of some junk that has spiked up. Since the planter box isn't being used for veggies, I translated the marigold seedlings into it. I had just dumped the seeds into a bucket (remember when I got them from the FP and I was so happy?!) and they all sprouted. If the transplanting takes, they will look really pretty in there and keep mosquitos away too.
My niece was in town pet sitting for a few hours and she came by and the kids visiting each other out back for a while. That was a good change-up for them.

My parents are coming up this morning for a patio visit. Then I am outside for the rest of the day.

Wishing everyone a really wonderful day!
xoxo

Nancy- did you get storms yesterday? My mom (Parsippany) did but we didn't have anything at all here. I saw some of your pages in the Gallery-- all fantastic LOs! It cracks me up with the AC-- Caitlyn is like me always cold but she puts her AC on for the rats.

Jean- be careful in the upcoming heat. It got cold here overnight and I had to pull on all of the blankets while I was asleep. I wish there was a way to bottle that.
Ugh!!! So sorry to hear that your desktop went kerplooey too. When it rains, it pours.
I hope that the libraries are able to open soon. NJ is starting its reopening on the 15th with non-essential stores opening with limited people allowed in, masks and gloves required. I am still nervous about the cases still happening plus the protests are going to cause an increase. Gosh I am a ball of optimism today! hahaha!!!
what do you use to scrap? Thanks for liking the theme night LOs- last night we worked on the Halloween menu so that is looking good

Hugs to all of you who pop in-- have a wonderful day.

Good Sunday morning everyone! It has been a busy weekend for DH and myself so far! We worked all day yesterday trying to get the last of the kitchen painting done, but sadly we ran into a couple of problems with the glass cabinet fronts. The glass is set into the cabinet with silicone and because there is a bit of an edge for the glass to sit on it was impossible to paint that white :mmph: So we had to come up with an idea as to how to make it white. Off to the hardware store where we picked up some white silicone caulking and a neat little tool that makes it look like someone who knows what they are doing did the caulking LOL. That had to set up overnight and we still have one more cupboard with glass to do  Oh well it will get done when it gets done I guess. Still have the range hood to take apart and get that painted as well. So much for my plans to have it completed this weekend :mmph: No painting today as we have to head up to the In-Laws and help them get some new furniture moved into the house. We were surprised when FIL called and asked for help, but happy too as he would never be able to bring all that heavy stuff up from the garage to the house on his own! It looks like it will be a beautiful sunny day today, so it will be nice to be at the Lake, hopefully we can have a fire and maybe roast some hotdogs for lunch.

Chris - Happy Birthday to your Brother!! Glad that you got the card made before running out of ink!! He will love your delicious cookies I am sure! Sorry you are having trouble with your computer! That is something that worries me also if I have to re-install my CS6 on another computer, will it still work? I would hate to have to do the subscription for PS too! Some days I feel like screaming out too, dam this virus and all the things that we can't do anymore. But like you say we are so very lucky compared to others! I hope that the re-opening of your area goes smoothly and that there isn't a second wave that puts everyone back into isolation again! Have a great visit with your parents, hope the marigolds grow well and they keep the mosquitoes away!!

Nancy - We had a lightning strike and loud thunder clap yesterday, something that hardly ever happens around here. It was nice to hear that old familiar sound from when we lived on the prairie LOL. I am looking forward to seeing the turtles and I bet that Mason is over the moon happy with them. Although one will be Hunters, I bet Mason will be in charge of caring for them. I really need to get to the gallery and see your new pages!

Jean - Hopefully the heat will not be too bad for you! That is terrible that your computer bit the dust!! How frustrating! :frusty: It will be nice if the library will open again in your area, but still not the same as it used to be is it? Yes I think you are right that things will happen very slowly especially if you are still getting new cases daily! Please keep safe!

Felis - I love your photo of your kitties lazing around in the outdoors, looks like they are on vacation LOL. Are you happy to be back at work? I hope that you are and that you get some time to enjoy your reading and hopefully do some scrapping too! I really need to get back to scrapping and will need to do a double page about my kitchen re-do LOL.

Ok I better get busy with a few things before we head to the In-Laws! Have a great Sunday everyone!

Morning - OMgosh what a glorious day - bright blue skies and low humidity - It is a bit breezy but that just lets the cool air in. Yea, free AC. Got some laundry done and got Luther out after dinner. You could tell then that the humidity had gone down. Read another CJ Box book. He leaves the ending of each book just with me just needing to know what comes next. Looks like sometime after the 22 of June I will be able to get my hair cut and colored. That is if there is not a second wave. So far NJ seems to be doing a good job in cases decreasing.

Chris so glad you had a great day yesterday! Have fun with your parents! Don't feel so bad about not protesting. The real change will come when the votes are counted in Nov. Hope the marigolds take and that they really do keep mosquitoes away? I don't think I even knew that. Sorry that grocery shopping is so hard! Thanks for the comments on the pages.

Jean wow 90 degrees is hot and seems too early in the summer. Stay cool. Hope your library does open to visitors soon. Enjoy your zoom! I am having a call with my girlfriends this evening.

Trudy I am glad you found a way to make the caulk white. Have fun at the in-laws and hot dogs over the fire sounds so yummy!

I'm still around... just been busy for the past couple of days. We have been having some thunder/lightening and rain showers for the past few days. Usually about the time I am going to get on the computer - so staying off of it while that is going on. Glad we got some rain... not a lot at one time but had several showers each day and during some nights, too. Temps have been up to 97-99 the past week with high winds so haven't even been going outside. Another hot one today but will cool off a bit on Monday-Wednesday then back up to high temps again by the end of the week. The A/C has been running late at night [10 PM - after midnight]. It doesn't kick on until around 5-6PM so that means the electric bill shouldn't be a huge one. This is more like August weather than June.

I whipped through reading the library book so need to drop it in their dropbox tomorrow when I drop off mail at the post office since they are on the same block. Time to pay the estimated state taxes this week. Been on a reading kick the past few days... and napping every day for some reason. Guess the body is telling me I need the rest.

Waiting for DD#2 to set up the Zoom family meeting for later this afternoon. Hope it will work better so I can see everyone at the same time. The other video chat we were using didn't work well on my computer so hope the Zoom will be better. The weekly family chats have helped keep my spirits up.

Chris, I hear you about getting frustrated with on-line grocery shopping. I gave it up as the store I use doesn't have the frozen items on-line. Hope you can resolve how to it in person and still keep you and the family safe.

Trudy, sorry you didn't get to finish all the painting this weekend... glad you figured out how to do the caulking around the glass doors to give the right effect. Glad to hear that FiL called and asked for help.

Nancy, glad you are having a glorious day. I agree with you about CJ Box books... he leaves you wanting to know more. Guess that is a way to hook readers into getting the series. Our salons opened up this past week but I will hold off going there until things are a bit more settled. I have taken to using curlers in my hair. My hair is the longest it has been in a few years - below chin length. I still have my cough so know it is better to wait until it is gone before getting my hair cut... wouldn't want to scare anyone.

Sending good thoughts to everyone and hoping things improve for us all.

Hello girls,
yesterday was one of these traditional days that Orthodox have for remembering lost beloveds. As these days are always on Saturday and depends of lunar circles and other holidays they are on different date every year, and this time it's matched with other celebration in my family. So we decided that we can do something as an improvised garden party, but only drink and cookies, no food, and much more shorter than usual. It's first time my nephew come at my home. She is so sweet and is grew up so much! Cats was thrilled to see human child, surrounded her and wants to play. When we have guest most cats are in their house of course, this isn't cat cafeteria, and foster cats are mostly street, so they aren't comfortable with crowds. But I have my own cats, which are well socialised and curious. Was so fun! And scary! Kids run everywhere and I'm so scary that can fall. Humans child are so unadaptive to the world.
No shopping for me, as I cleaned but my family was and got all necessary. Today I'm planting cherry tomatoes, as my mom have a lot this year and I join to helping her. And was thought about Chris and her dirt therapy, as I literally was sit on the ground and get dirt terrifying my mom. LOL! Yes, we have wonderful weather!

Chris, I use GIMP it's free and I can do anything needs for scraping, not so good for professional photo editing as PS, but have basic options and you can see at youtube tutorials do you will like it! Hope to not have need! Happy brother's birthday!
Oh, yes the orange big one is he, actually both are boys and even on same age, but the gray had some health issue and wasn't been adopted, so I'll keep him. The orange is never been for adoption, as it's son of my own tomcat and was plan to be born.
OK, when you feel need to do something, do something more creative. You probably know the story of John Lennon and Yoko Ono's Bed-Ins for Peace? My position is that people can be way more creative than yelling in crowd! Find a better way to show support! Gary makes so interesting Halloween expositions in your yard, make something as multiethnic group of kids with holding hands. Or graphit on your wall or window! Or something relay creative!

Nancy, good luck with the surgery of your husband! Will your son will help with the Luther's walks now? It's awesome that you likes your books!

Jean, hope you not lose some important documents and photos, on your desktop computer. Ouch, I have so many files without backup, have to fix this! Haha, yes, for now I'm very happy to be back on work. I hope to follow decision I takes and the lessons I got!

Trudy, it's so nice how your ILs now wants more support for different tasks, maybe they need more time together with you, now when they saw what is to can't have it. Something good comes from the isolation. Oh, painting project looks like last longer than you expect, but at least results sounds great! Hope you'll be able to go to the lake!
I definitely have plans for scraping, but outdoors activities now left me a little bit tired!
