Happy weekend!!! I really can't get over how *fast* June is flying by.:hurt:
But I am happy that the weather has been nice and that I finally made it to the lake! The sun felt awesome. It is going to be a bit difficult this year, between trying to keep my PICC clean and dry and not letting my radiated skin get any sun. I wore the rashguard that I bought and all I can say is "gak." I feel like it is choking me.hahaha!!! No matter- it is still all good to be out there.

Then we went to my friend's house for drinks and dinner. This lady is the Master Pinner. She made such cool stuff and she gets almost everything from Pinterest. Watermelon mojitos, shishkabobs of strawberries and brownies. Toasted marshmallows with Baileys inside (I had left by the time they came out but sounds pretty yummy!).

I pooped out pretty early but I knew I needed to get up and out early today. I am off to see my BFF. I haven't seen her since before my surgery and I miss her so much. We are going to see the play Tick, Tick...BOOM. I think most of you know I am a RentHead LOL and TTB is a kind of an autobiographical play by Jonathan Larson who wrote Rent. It's a bittersweet play because he wrote it *before* Rent, but it was never produced until several years after Rent. He died of a brain aneurysm on the Opening Night of Rent. In TTB, he talks/sings about how he feels like he doesn't have much time left and that he feels the " clock" going tick, tick... and he waits for the boom. Prescient.

Anyway-- we saw it together when it came out in 2001 and they are doing a limited revival so this is my b-day present from her. Looks to be a gorgeous day to get into the City.

Hope that you all have a super day too!!

Sara- hope that you are having fun in Vegas!

Nancy- hee-hee! What car drama!! How is the hitch? What are you going to pull? Do you have a boat? The sun is just wonderful here, and once it went down at my friend's, it actually got chilly. Just perfect weather.

Hi jean!

Phyllis- that is a good question about the vaccines. The school sent home his health records with vac info on it with his diploma. (kind of funny to see the two of them together). He needs to get in for a check-up soon and I'll make him bring that with him to see what else he needs before Sept.

All I can say about your phone call is blech.

Have a great weekend and I wish you could bottle up the hugs and kisses from the G-men and Peanut. I cannot imagine not seeing my family for 2 years. Hugs to you too!!

xoxo

Morning, ladies. Hard to believe I'm here in the am, but we'll be heading home from a research trip shortly. Had dinner with a relative we rarely see last night and that is always good.

I'm a little behind on personals, apologize, but DH is waiting to see the paper and we only have one laptop...

Have a good one!

good morning - Yea my car now has a hitch - I love to go biking but to get my bike there I need a hitch to attach a bike rack to. The Escape has roof rack but really I am not going to be able to lift my bike on top of the car LOL. It was nice as my son is always so proud of his mechanic ability and so am I. The hitch is rated to pull 8000 lbs LOL. Took my son and DIL out to dinner to say thank you. Was a good day. Got in a good walk. I am such a hockey fan (thankfully my son and DIL are fans too) that they did not mind that during dinner I kept following twitter to find out how the NHL draft was going. Got home and was able to watch my Devils select John Quenville and big strong center. Now today I get to watch rounds 2-7. But have to get the lawn mowed some time. LOL

Chris so glad you had fun the lake. Enjoy the play today and yes it looks to be gorgeous day to go into the city!

Phylis have a fun weekend with the family! So sorry to hear about that phone call.

Jean have a nice trip home and hope the research went well.

Trudy hope Mason is sleeping!

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... A good morning as Mason has now had two glorious nights of sleep and what a difference for all of us! LOL Today we are off for a day of shopping at Costco, should be a nut house as this is the Canada Day weekend and I am sure everyone and their dog will be there!! Alos picking up a scooter and second walker for DD as she will need another walker when her man comes to join us for reunion and they move downstairs . It will be nice for DD to join us on the walks we take Mason on too!

Chris - yes this month is flying past and I can't believe that July will soon be upon us! What a great day you had and now to spend the day with you BFF will be so good for you too! Enjoy your day with her!

Jean - Hope your research trip was enjoyable! Was it for genealogy? I wish I had a better understanding of the whole process of looking up family history, it just becomes a big jumble of names to me after a time and I give up. No patience I guess.

Nancy - Have fun taking your bike where you need to go now! I would love to take up biking again, but I would also need a bike rack, because like you there is no way I could put my bike on the rack of my Honda Odyssey. Hope you had fun watching the draft picks, hubby was not too impressed by what the Bruins ended up with.

Ok I gotta go see what I need in the way of meat for the freezer, not looking forward to facing the crowds at Costco, but it will be fun to look at books and toys for Mason  hope you all have a great day!

Good morning!!!
What a fantastic day I had with my BFF. It was a little hectic getting there, however. She texted me that she was stuck in traffic trying to get home from her cousin's house (Tappan Zee Bridge, Nancy-- ugh!). I got part way down the highway from my house and wasn't going anywhere, when my BFF from across the street texted me that the highway was closed. Thankfully I was able to cut through a parking lot to get into another lot, to turn around to cut across the highway and take all of the back roads down. But I got there a half hour later than expected. We did fine getting *into* NYC, but the traffic to the theater was crazy! My BFF is one of those insane NYC drivers. I don't know how the heck she does it, but she knows exactly how to get around the even-more-insane taxi drivers.

The show was AMAZING! I was just blown away. And it brought tears to my eyes again and again. I always wonder if Jonathan Larson knows, somehow from Heaven, what an impact he made on so many people and on Broadway. I also always wonder if he knew that he didn't have much time left on Earth.
Anyway, sorry-- once I get started talking about Rent and Jonathan- it's all over LOL

Not much planned for today, but I have a busy week coming up so I have to get ready for that.

xoxo

Hey there jean! How was your trip? What neat stuff did you do/learn? Its always nice to see a relative that you don't get to see very often. Hope you have a great day!

Nancy! OMG- that is so cute that you were following the draft on Twitter!
Congrats on the hitch- and I am glad you were talking about it. Scott's CRV has a hitch on it but because it is a 4 cylinder, I can't imagine putting anything back there. But when I was driving home last night, I saw a van with a small "grate" attached to the hitch. I know I have seen them before, when we used to camp- its the perfect size for a cooler. I wonder if that would be something that Scott could get for his car, since he doesn't have a lot of room in his trunk. If you hadn't mentioned the hitch, that "grate-thingy- would not have even registered.

Trudy- oh yes, sleep is a blessed things for babies, and moms and g-moms!!! Did you survive Costco? I refuse to go to BJ's on regular weekend, and can't imagine trying to go on a holiday weekend. Happy Canada Day to you!

good morning - what a lovely day yesterday was in NJ. Low humidity and in the 80s. Got my lawn mowed and watched soccer. Just a low key Sat. My DH was out in the lawn to so that is nice. Today my DH is cooking up a storm as my son's friend is coming to dinner. We are having a baked bean side dish and pulled pork sandwiches. The house is filled with wonderful smells. Today is my oldest 2nd wedding anniversary. Where did the time go. Going to get in a walk before I clean and watch soccer.

Chris that play sounds so good. I would never drive into the city! We always take NJ transit trains and then walk in the city. And yes that grate thing for the back of Scotts car would be perfect for a cooler. Enjoy the day today!

Trudy so glad to hear that Mason is now sleeping. I know I need my sleep. Hope Costco's was not too crazy!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Thanks for the good wishes! The trip was nice, but the research (yes, genealogy) was a bit frustrating. I'm working on details and tying up loose ends for an early family in Kentucky. In part I was checking sources just to see if they had any information I could use.

Trudy, if the family history gets overwhelming, try just looking at one part of the family. More than names and dates, I want to try to learn who the people were, what they did, and why. A good computer program (some are even free) helps keep track of what I've already learned. Sounds great having DD and Mason in the cooler BC.

Nancy, Chris, hope you're having good days.

I have to change gears now as at 6:00 pm our little artist group is having a meet and greet at the frozen yogurt shop where we are currently showing. That should be a nice treat in this heat.

Hi ladies...we survived Costco and actually it wasn't as bad as I thought?? Line up at the tills was very small, I guess everyone was on the road going to where they needed to be for the weekend instead of shopping like us.

Chris - Sounds like you had a great day yesterday in spite of the traffic hassles. This weekend for Canada Day is kind of screwed up with everyone having the the usual Sat/Sun off then back to work Monday and off again on Tues. Most have taken the extra day off to make it a very long weekend, but not my DH, oh no he would never do that!! can't you ever bend your rules?? Just once?? Oh well guess he would not have been a very good police officer if he bent the rules all the time would he?

Nancy - I love pulled pork and lucky you, you are not the one having to do the cooking!! Glad to hear that the humidity is low for you, I can't take those horrible humid days! It is another reason we get DD and son out of Ontario for the summer. Happy Anniversary to your oldest and his bride!

Jean - I have done exactly what you have said and try to concentrate on just a portion of the family. I have done quite well with my father's side, but now working on my mother's side is another story, too many characters and would love to get to know them all, my sister has gone back waaaaaayyyy back to the 1600's and still is digging around with relatives over in England. I just don't have the time to concentrate on this right now. Also working on a family tree for my hubby's side for the reunion and have to keep it up to date with all of the new babies born these past couple of years. Always something to do! Have fun at the frozen yogurt shop today!!

Phylis - Hey you are are you doing??
