I have to put my typing fingers on and leave lots and lots of love! OK, Grammarly, you are going to have a lot of spell-checking to do. What would I do without a spell-checker? It's not even that I can't spell, it's that I can't *type.*

How was your Friday? It was pretty busy here. I cleaned downstairs all morning. Cait and Gary were working on the puzzle around lunchtime so I took a quick break with them and then back to some more cleaning. I made the Father's Day cards for both dads and now I need to make one for Gary. I also squeezed in a half hour of yoga.
Poor Jaida was in a "mood" yesterday. She seemed extra ramped up with dogs and people on the street and she and W even had a few barks at each other. Then the thunderstorms rolled her and that freaked her out even more. Maybe it is because we haven't taken them on a hike in a while. We were going to try to go yesterday but Gary was wiped out from being out the day before and ended up on the couch most of the day.
I was snuggling with J and she is getting so grey, even W has some grey in her eyebrows. I feel like we just got them both but they are 6 and 8.

Today is FP day and then I am going to make the coffee cake for tomorrow morning. This time I am *not* doubling the recipe. What a mess that was. LOL A delicious mess for sure but still a huge mess.

Hugs!!

@vickyday I love that FRI-YAY :D And Yay for getting your playdate with the girls. It's going to be weird while Ilene is away.
That is the sweetest thing, making a meal and cake for your friends. I am sure they were thrilled and appreciative. The best gift anyone can give me is a meal that I don't have to cook and I am healthy. It must have been off the charts for him.

@bcgal00 How was your day out and about? You are a little miss social butterfly! :lol23:

@taxed4ever I sure hope that you got some rain, I know we needed every drop that we got yesterday and more. How fun that your friend wanted to see your gardens. I know that they are beautiful and I would *love* to have you give me a tour too.
Did you go to the craft store? I am really glad that I don't have anything like that near me, I would buy so much stuff that I wouldn't need. :oops2: Even when I go to the dollar store I look at all of the craft stuff and have to talk myself out of buying more/cheap junk.

@Cherylndesigns Here's some more :coffee1: after the night you had. That's awful! The other night I was dreaming that I was listening to something scary on the podcasts. I tried to change what I was listening to but since it was in my dream it wouldn't turn off. :hiding1:
Did you sleep better last night? I hope so because I know your girls are going to keep you running today :p

Thank you @O Birthday Fairy xo

What a wild time getting back to FL but it must feel amazing to know she is under your roof again! I bet you that you are going to not stop hugging her today.

Good morning party peeps.

Happy Saturday!! Chris @faerywings I wanted to catch you before you left, but probably missed you. Did I dream it or did you ask if any of us had an easy casserole recipe? I do and I have it for you then spaced on it. If you want it, PM me and I'll send it right away. I'm going to start a new convo in case you'll see that I tagged you. Hope this makes sense I just got up.

I'm back. I hope you saw my message in time, Chris. Yes, I slept better last night - thank goodness! You'll never believe what i did - I took a 2 hour nap yesterday afternoon than while we were watching our 2 hours of TV last night, I slept for most of that two hours. So, I napped for a total of 4 hours. I haven't been that tired for a long time - I felt drugged and was probably fighting something because my nose was plugged up all day. I never (well rarely) get that tired - after my last LAST covid shot I was like a zombie - couldn't stay away for about 2 days.

Linda @LSlycord Syd's home!!! I just saw it in Chris's post. I'm sure you're all doing the happy dance. :hug4::dancingelephant:dance3

Chris @faerywings our girls day out is going to be taking Lila and Sam (our cat) to the vet at 3. WooHoo. We've had two appts and they both got canceled. I hope Sam doesn't howl all the way there and back. We have a soft cat carrier, so he can just do whatever he does and he can't hurt himself. Chuck's going to put him in it and I'm going to make them take him out. Reverse process to come home. He's sweet, but he can be a stinker, too. He does NOT like to be picked up for one thing. He's become very social since we first adopted him, but still doesn't like to be picked up. He's been sneezing a lot and I'm a little worried about that. It's probably nothing, but I don't want to take any chanced. I'll never find another cat that doesn't use the litter box. During the cold, cold winter, he provably used it 5 or 6 times, but otherwise, he goes out like the dogs. I've never had a cat like this. We keep a litter box for him, in the laundry room, just in case, but he never uses it. Who knew? I'm sure we'll find time to run through Starucks and get our Frapps.

The party has is a big success and it's been fun seeing old and new people here. It's been hard to keep up with everything. I'm two challenges behind but maybe I'll have time to catch up. I had so much fun bantering with the O Birthday Fairy last night - and we have some new fairies in the emojis but I like caffeinated fairy best. :fairy1::fairy2:My fave -

Hugs to all who hop on here after me. Happy Satufday.

Good morning ladies. I had a 3 km walk yesterday with a friend and remi loved it. Then I came home for a bit and went out for afternoon coffee with the ladies group for 3 hrs. So nothing got done around the house but that's ok, I'll do chores this wkend and spend more time sorting thru photos of the dogs for printing. I haven't had a chance to meal plan but hope to do that this wkend. I am getting so lazy about cooking, I want simple and easy but also want some variety. I need to sort thru the freezers to see what we have.

@faerywings Good for you for doing some yoga. Taz is very white now, His face is so light b/c of all the white. He's going to be 10 this fall.

@Cherylndesigns That's amazing about Sam going outside instead of using a litter box, never heard of a cat doing that.

Time for more coffee and get on with my day. HAGD everyone.

I slept until 9:30. I don't even know when the last time was that happened. We got back to the house at 12:30, showed Sydney around and went to bed. And I really rested for the first time in 6 weeks! Maybe since she was home at spring break! It felt so good to have her in my hug. Even Shaun stayed up until she came home. I mentioned it and he said it was because he was watching the dogs. Ummm...no. The dogs love to sleep! Anyway, I'm happy and peaceful. For now...

I will be back in a bit for personals but I need to get started on @faerywings game!

Good afternoon! I cannot believe it is 1:30 already!
Had a great time with my friends yesterday, of course! We got a late start and stayed together until 8 last night. Great day of chit chat and eating and games!
Laundry and cooking (Mark is home, lol) is what is up today!
I'm trying to catch up on some of my bike pages (8.5x11) for the half-priced prints I pre-ordered when Persnickety was having their sale last month. However, I have 50 pages ordered, so I won't be getting them printed any time soon! But I am so bad about procrastinating that I want to try to at least get caught up! I've got some birthday party stuff to do, too!
Other than that and church tomorrow, not much happening around here this weekend!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

@faerywings, I guarantee you that there have been several random hugs throughout the day! I drove over to Crumbl cookies, they just opened yesterday, and got a box of 6 of their cookies...one of each kind on their menu this week. Syd loves them so that was my gift to her this morning. She brought home magnets for the refrigerator (that's what we usually do when we travel) and then she brought Shaun a t-shirt and some chocolates for the family!

@Cherylndesigns I thought that the two hour nap would keep you from sleeping last night but I guess not, if you fell asleep watching TV. You probably were coming down with something so good thing you gave your body some rest, Good luck at the vet!

There's nothing like having the family under roof!
Amen to that @vickyday! Love that you have a catch up day!

@bcgal00 I have been terrible with cooking as well. I need to do some meal planning and prep ahead or seriously, we will never get fed. Can't imagine how you didn't need a nap after all of your activities yesterday.

Hello again,

Rae, it's so funny that Sam doesn't use his litter box. I've never heard of that either. He's kind of an outside cat though - he's out ALL night roaming around and he goes in and out during the day. I have a little owl with bells on it hanging on my office door and he first started ringing those if he couldn't get my attention when he wanted out. It's the cutest thing you've ever seen. Then I got similar (we call them kitty bells now) ones for the front door and the French doors in the kitchen. He rings his "kitty bells" when he wants to go out.

We adopted him 2 years ago and they told us he'd never been around dogs. Well, we have our dog plus 3 others here most of the time and we think that he thinks he's a dog now. They all go outside together and play - he's a funny cat.

Linda @LSlycord I'm shocked that I slept last night, too. I definitely think I was fighting something off. Whenever I get real cold or real tired (like I was yesterday) it's usually a sign that I'm fighting something How unlike me is 4 hours of naps??? I normally don't require a lot of sleep. Glad to hear of the good homecoming - lots of goodies and Shaun staying up late for the dogs. Uh huh. Too funny. I'm glad your family is all under your roof again. I'm sure Syd loved the new home.

Good morning and Happy Father's Day to all of the dads in your lives.
I am going to have to do my best to be brief here. I have a houseful of people coming up in a few hours and I still have a lot of work to do to get ready. (Didn't I say I was keeping this low-key since my Mother's Day Brunch wiped me out? I did say that, I know I did. :rolleyes1: )

Was the O down yesterday? Or was I dreaming? I know I was trying to pop in and out during the day to work on the Gallery Love Game and I feel like the pages weren't loading. Now I don't know if that was real or not haha!
I ended up making banana bread as well as the coffee cake. I got a pack of chicken at the FP and everything was falling out of the freezer. As long as I had all of the baking stuff out, I figured I'd use up some bananas. Another long day in the kitchen but hopefully it will have a yummy result. :baking1: And what a difference making the one cake recipe instead of the double. It looks beautiful in the pan instead of lava-cake everywhere like last time. :D

Hope you all have a fantastic day-- xoxoxo

@Cherylndesigns hehe, no that wasn't me that asked for an easy casserole recipe, at least not recently. But if you have one I am interested. :)
You must have been really exhausted when you took those naps! *jaw drop* It does sound like you have something working on you, rest up and feel better. I hope Sam "behaved" at the vet. I am taking J in this week and already I am dreading it. She is a mess, a very solid and stubborn mess.
I was cracking up at you and the O Birthday Fairy. She has some attitude :giggle4:

@LSlycord yipppppeeee!! So happy for you to have Syd home. Is she terribly jetlagged? What did she think of the new house? Have the dogs left her side at all?
Shaun is a sweetie even if he won't admit it ♥

@vickyday That sounds like a perfect send-off for Ilene, having the girls chatting and playing games together. I hope you are enjoying your quiet(er) weekend.

Big hugs to all of you who pop in here. :grouphugyay:

Good morning. Kids are both still in bed. Brian and I had some time on the lanai but too many bugs to stay long. The lanai gets screened a week from tomorrow. Things are getting crossed off the list slowly but surely.

Yesterday was a good day. Syd has taken up residence in the guest bedroom...hasn't felt the need to get through her boxes and sort out her bedroom. LOL She just wanted to be able to watch Netflix and rest I think. I was surprised with her reaction to the house. She said that she likes it. So it's all good and feels normal.

I went to the grocery store closest to us yesterday. When I got home, Brian and Shaun were gone. I couldn't imagine why. They knew that I would want help unloading groceries. Well, Brian had seen on Life360 that I was taking a route through another neighborhood on my way home and thought that I was lost! I wasn't lost...the GPS did lead me home a really strange way. I couldn't understand why it had taken me the way that it did. But it had thrown Brian into a total panic and he and Shaun got in the car and went to look for me. I suggested that the next time, he call me to see if I needed help. But, after getting over my initial irritation, I had to admit that it was kind of sweet that he went out to look for me...although I don't think that they will need to do any Silver Alerts for awhile!

Today's plans are to go to a new restaurant for lunch...choice of two lobsters and corn on the cob or ribs with all the fixin's. Then, there is a 6:00 space launch if the weather holds. I haven't been able to spot the rockets from the backyard so I think that we are going to the beach. And, I have tomorrow off of work, so I won't have the Sunday night blues for awhile.

@faerywings I hope that the Fathers' Day brunch is fun! I'm sure it will go off without a hitch.

Good morning ladies. D has a Father's Day email to open up from Jen. We'll be waiting to hear his reaction. It is a cool gift and sort of for me too. D is terrible at certain chores, he will do his laundry, unload the dishwasher and vacuum downstairs. But he only vacuums the main floor, not the lower level, which Jen does, or the top level which I will do but it is hard on my back to vacuum because of the forward bending. He also doesn't do windows or window sills and he has his own bathroom which is tidy but doesn't get a deep clean often. She hired a maid to come in for 2-3 hours to do the windows, bathrooms and floors and whatever other chores we think of, maybe dust all the blinds. She couldn't think of what to get him b/c he really doesn't need or want anything and doesn't really enjoy going out to the movies. So I think this gift will really surprise him.

I was on marketplace Friday and Saturday, looking for pieces for my media room and found 3 chairs and two large canvases for the walls. I also got a new charcuterie board with a glass lid to put out meat/cheeses. D will drive the truck to go pick up everything with me this morning. We got the projection tv working last night so will be able to load the book cover photos onto a usb and show it on the big screen so the gals can see the books and vote on what we'll read in the upcoming months. That'll be kind of cool. Got the radio tuner working so the built in surround sound speakers now can play music in there. The room is really coming together nicely. We are going to host a monthly game night down there too. We have two fold out tables so can have two games going and swap players throughout the night. Should be fun.

I'm going to get out in the yard for a bit with Remi b/c she won't be happy that she has to stay home when we go out for the morning. I'll tire her out a bit with playtime before we go.

@faerywings HFD to G. Glad the single recipe loaf turned out much better. Have a wonderful family day.

@LSlycord Enjoy the dinner with family.

@Cherylndesigns I think I would just love Sam. He sounds so smart and unique!

Remi ate breakfast and wants to go back outside. So, I'd better get off the computer. HAGD everyone.

Good morning all.

Well, I think I'm finally caught up on my sleep. Chris @faerywings I knew your jaw would drop at my 2 different 2 hour naps. I still felt a little tired yesterday, but we got Sam to the vet. We had a heck of a time getting him in the cat carrier and he cried all the way there. Not horrible loud crying like a couple of other cats we had, but crying. We took Lyla too and she was fussing over him in the back seat. We carried him in and just sat the carrier on the floor while it was Lila's turn. He never made a peep. The vet sat the carrier up on the table and opened the end and lifted him out and he was SO good. I think she's a cat whisperer. She even clipped the teeniest tips off his claws - they need to be long enough to fend off prey, but she agreed that they were too long. He's starting to scratch us and doesn't mean to. Poor guy got 3 shots and never made a whimper. They really knocked him out though and he was on my bed all evening. He even slept on the end of my bed all night. I didn't have the heart to move him. He didn't get on me like he usually does, so it worked out well. Rae @bcgal00 you would definitely like Sam. He's a sweetie - the new vet loved him. He weighs just under 14 pounds. He's filled out quite a bit in a year - he was kind of thin when we got him. She said his weight was perfect.

We had a pretty bad storm last night and lost power for about 4 hours. I got on FB and went on our town site and it was off all over the area. It was just severe thunderstorms ad lost of rain, but no tornado warnings for our area. I always have a couple of flashlights in my desk and we have a bunch of emergency candles so I lit about 4 of them right away. I missed having my tea last night though. I'm going to see what kind of devices they have for heating things when you have no power. I went on the Amazon app last night and it looks like they have a lot of alternatives. I know Sterno pots are an option, but they aren't very big.

We're having a little dinner here for Father's Day this evening. Roger's on his way back to Florida to his "real job" so he won't be here. I think the girls and I are going to go out later on. I SHOULD pull weeds while the ground is soft from last night's rain, but notice I said "should".

Chris @faerywings I have been having SO much fun with the O'Fairy! I love the way she has been so active on the board. Fun times!!:fairy1::fairy2:But I still like the caffeinated fairy best :dancingbfly::dancingbfly::dancingbfly:

Happy Sunday all.
