I am so sad today. Very Hungry emerged from his cocoon yesterday, seemed to be doing ok, but this morning he was all crumpled in the dirt in the garden. He is still alive and Gary is trying to get it to drink bits of juice but it is not looking so good for him. We were all so excited watching him as he drained his wings and started fluttering them. He was hanging on some netting that we have covering the blueberry bushes before we went next door for dinner, and then we didn't see him so we assumed that he flew off. Gary found him on the ground this morning.

I know that it sounds so corny that I am sad about this but he kind of gave us all a sense of hope and excitement. It had been a pretty shitty week(s) and it was really nice to have something *good* to focus on.

Gary has him outside in a small container and he is drinking a bit of juice now and just flapped his wings so maybe he just needs some care. My fingers are crossed for him. BTW, Gary found out that he is a *him* based on the marking of the cocoon. If there is one dot on the top of the cocoon it is male if the dot is divided, it is female. The internet is an amazing thing. (When used properly :pound: )

Not much happening here, it was drizzling a bit, now it looks sunny. Maybe I will go outside and do a bit of yard work and then take it easy the rest of the day. Scott is off to Leah's and I think Caitlyn is just planning on playing with her rats. Can't say that I blame her for that :)

Hoping that all of you have a super day!

At this very moment, Scott and Gary are trying to repair VH's wing. There is a small tear on top and they are using a tiny bit of superglue to fix it. They sound like a surgical team. I guess no matter what happens we all can say that we really tried our best. I was even outside with drops of juice on my fingers and was able to get him to drink a bit.

Nancy- how is the new haircut? I wish people with curly hair could successfully pull off short hair. But all mine would do is go poof!
We didn't get that warm yesterday but it was very nice. I think we should hit 80 this weekend though. Yay!
Is Sidney Crosby some big ego that gets away with everything (like DT? haha!)

Trudy- I hope that your weather is perfect for you today and that you don't hurt too much after the golf tournament. Is that the restaurant that you can see the seals from? How nice to be able to spend time with your sisters.
Thanks for the :cofbath: I always need it!

Rae- we finished watching 12 Monkeys last week  I am soo excited that Orphan Black is on again (tonight I think?). Last season for that one too, which makes me sad but it is better than to keep dragging a series on so long that it becomes ridiculous.
Be careful with the citrus oils, they are notorious for photosensitivity- and bergamot as well, unless you get the BF variety. Some good authors are Tisserand and Valnet- they are like the "fathers" of AT. Julia Lawless is very good and well researched. And I highly recommend Valerie Worwood. Some of the free e-books that I see are a bit sketchy, so read them with an open mind.

good morning - well yesterday was busy. Got my hair done, then to dog store for treats, then to bank for money, then home for lunch, then off to vet so Luther could get some blood drawn for retests, we stopped at the local park so I could walk him before the vet. Worked well as we were at the vets for 2 hrs. He was so good. Got home and ordered pizza and Luther and I just chilled. My son had a late late night at work and did not get home until 4am. Baseball at least for a Yankee fan is going really well. It was thought this was a rebuild year for them but wow the young guys have been doing really well. Got my Florida album pictures uploaded and books ordered. Cant wait to get them. This morning we got Luther out for a good walk to a local park. The weather in my part of Jersey is mostly cloudy but good peaks of sun and the temp is steadily climbing and the humidity is really climbing. Tomorrow really hot. Not much else going on. I plan on just enjoying the day.

Chris so sorry about the Monarch. Glad that Gary is helping him along. Did not know how to tell the difference in boys and girls. And yes the internet is good when used correctly. Sounds like Cait will be having fun!

Trudy have fun golfing and hope you have great weather. Sounds like a full weekend with golf and lunch with your sister. I am not surprised you have been an early riser with all that is on your plate. I do have to say though that I love hearing the birds early in the morning! Enjoy all the activities this weekend.

Rae hope you and Darrell had a great relaxing evening at the trailer. Hope you too have great weather and get a lot of work done around your site.

Sharon that is nice you had company on the drive to your Dad's. Sounds like the perfect end sitting outside enjoying dinner and the company.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Enjoying a quiet morning at the trailer. Will be heading outside for cleanup in a bit. Looking forward to relaxing tonight, watching tv and scrapping. Loaded PSE on my laptop. I'm still learning my way around this program as I'm so used to PS.

Chris - so sad about the butterfly but sounds like you guys are doing everything you can do to help so no matter what the outcome, you tried.

Nancy - you are such a fast scrapper, another book done?

Trudy - looks like the weather should be ok today. Have fun golfing.

Hope you all have a great day.

It is finally feeling more like June! Yesterday was nice being outside, digging in the dirt. I finished weeding out the side section of lawn/woods. It took me so long to do that I am positive that I am going to have to start all over again very soon. ;)

Poor VH didn't make it. We tried so hard to get him strong enough to fly. We think that perhaps he wasn't strong enough from the very beginning. There were 2 caterpillars on the milkweed that Scott brought home. The first one was much larger but he got caught in a spider web and died. VH was half his size. He also took much longer to emerge, the internet said 10-14 days and this guy needed 3 weeks. Maybe it was the cold weather, maybe not. When he first emerged, he kept falling from the railing where the cocoon was and one of his wings had a fold in it that never seemed to flatten itself. I guess it wasn't meant to be but it was still pretty sad.

The night ended in a great way. Gary made his grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner and Cait, Gary and I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. What a fun movie. I had said to Caitlyn on Friday how I missed the Harry Potter world so the NYC Wizarding World was a treat to see!

Today I think it will be close to 90 so I am going to go outside early and then scrap this afternoon. I already warned Gary to put the AC on as soon as he needs to since the heat makes him so sick. How in the world did I manage to fall in love with the guy who hates summer so much??

HAGD!!!!

Nancy- You really did have a busy day. Pizza was a good idea after all of that. How long before you get the results of Luther's blood work?
Go Yankees! Maybe they will be a fun filler for you to cheer about until the Devils have pre-games.

Rae- hope that you and Darrell didn't push yourselves too much doing work yesterday. Great news that you are feeling much more up to it :)

Good morning, ladies. We had a lazy day yesterday, as the weather was colder and wetter than anticipated so we got no yard work done. We watched movies and tv shows and I took a 2 hr nap in the late afternoon. Got Taz out for a long walk but definitely need some short rainboots to wear out here when the weather is bad; my feet were soaked by the time we got back. We're heading home shortly and I've got desk work to do this afternoon. I don't mind working extra this next week b/c the doctor is going to be gone for a few days later this month so this will average out for my pay cheque. It's easy work for me, I find typing relaxing, so even though I end up working some long hours sometimes, its stress-free and easy for me.

Chris - that's sad about the butterfly, you guys really did do all you could for it. Glad you weather is turning around and feeling more like summer. We had the heater on last night as it was so chilly here. Crazy weather this year.

Hope everyone else is having a great wkend.

I've got to get dressed and get ready to go home. Have a great day, everyone.
