It is the last weekend in July. Wow. sure as heck went by quickly.

I am determined to enjoy every bit of August and into September. In fact, my mom and I are going to work on making our reservations for the Shore getaway in September soon. My dad got her gift certificates to the place that we went to last year and it is enough to cover 2 nights off-season. The weather is usually still summery enough in Sept even though it rained when we were there last year. I was looking at the website just now and would love to get that booked so I have a goal in my head to give my brain a rest. It is needed!
Yesterday turned out ok. My parents are on each other nerves. More than usual? Maybe a bit. They are in PA and my brother and Christopher went up too. They invited me but (thank goodness!!!!) I have plans tonight. I don't think I would be able to deal with 3 cranky Iantoscas-- the third being my brother not my Godson. :pound: (although, when he doesn't get his way, he can be cranky too)

After I got back, I weeded a bit by the decorative fence/baby gate that separates my property from my neighbor. The baby gate is to keep Ray from wandering onto their lawn. They don't' mind-- my Harley would climb up their steps and watch their cats on the other side of the glass door- but we do. We put up a baby gate and then I plant morning glories to cover it up. We are going to their house for pizza and drinks tonight and our new neighbors across the street are coming too. So I thought that I would clean up a bit of the weeds and crazy morning glory vines so it looks nice when they walk over. I have another section that I will work on today and Scott mowed their lawn yesterday so all is good for that.

Hope that all of you have a fun day ahead.

PS: I have half a mind to start calling my parents every 10 minutes like my brother does when I am at my parents. But that would be mean and annoying and I am better than that. I am. Really.

Nancy-the chairs sound so neat! The weather for your block party should be really nice- no rain for a change. It poured buckets here again last night. By you too?
was that another Blue Apron dinner? My goodness, it sounds so darn yummy! Caitlyn and Brendan were looking at their website to get ideas but then they end up eating junk :D
That is exactly what I feel like trying to keep up with just a fraction of the news. So much is happening and so quickly. I find that I am becoming numb to the horrors that are being done and that scares me a lot. A 6 yo was sexually assaulted in one of the detention centers- and had to sign the paperwork *herself* because her parents were separated from her. How does this happen?? And why do I feel resigned to it? I know that we can't be angry and anxious all the time but how does this not even register on so many people's radar???

Oh yes, many, many lakes-- they don't call this the Lakeland and Highlands area for nothing :D

Rae- I hope that your drive was able to get its act together for you. Are you at the trailer again this weekend? Wherever you are, I hope you are great!

Jean- great that this year is better for your Group- hope that it continues! Are you going to have a nice weather day too? Did you post your cloud photos yet?

xoxo

good morning - well I made it to the grocery store and to get Luther before the rains hit. And it was bad. There was flooding in my town but not as bad as the next county over. The photos on the news were terrible. Got home and realized I forgot a main ingredient so had to go back this am and so got myself starbucks as a reward. Also just saw my page of the egret was selected to lift for Anna Aspnes. That always makes me happy and surprised. Today is the block party so I have to get my act together and start cooking.

Chris I don't think I would want to be with cranky people either LOL. Yes looks like the weather will be wonderful this afternoon! Finally! I am totally done with rain!

Rae OMgosh that is the pits about the wonky hard drive! So hope you got it working! Hope you are at the trailer having a relaxing time!

Jean glad you did not have to dodge rain drops to get to dinner. Glad the club is doing better this year. Do you all do much advertising for get new members? I don't think I have seen that type of club in my area.

Have a great day all!

:frusty: I don't want to be dramatic or so but I'm done! Seriously I'm done with all that s... I mean stupid rules. No more scrap for challenges!!!
I messed up up 3 of 6 challenges (4 if we count previous month) :drama: . Some of these 'cheating pages' are best I'm possible to create, but they just don't fit the rules  . And all treats me as I'm here only to count some points. :ballchain:
That was! Everybody has limits and that was the last drop which overflow the cup!

Have a lovely week my dears! I'll think for you all, but I need to be away from this place for a while!

Happy Sunday! We have a perfect, sunny day on tap. :D

I had a productive morning with clearing out the weeds and training the morning glories around the fencing. It looks much nicer now. And I got to see a little baby bunny too. He must have been near the tree stump and then hopped under the bushes when I got too close.

We had a nice time next door for dinner. Fun to chat with everyone and we got to meet the new neighbor. He graduated 10 years before my kids but went to the same schools and had a couple of the same teachers.

I have nothing going on here today, so I think I am going to do a bit of housecleaning and get ready for a busy week ahead.

enjoy your day, O-zies!

Nancy- How was the block party? Congrats on being a featured Anna Lift!!

Felis- have you been able to explain to the Challenge host directly or in your gallery upload what you used from the challenge or how you altered it? Maybe if they understood where you were coming from better, the rules wouldn't be as big an issue? I hate to think that you need to take a break from the O because of this-- I understand and support you needed to put yourself first, but it makes me sad. :(

good morning - the day is going to be nice. My boys are all off to help my eldest son and his partner put on a feast for a local charity. I am proud of them all. But wow do my boys not know how to manage time. My DH took Luther out for a walk and he knew my son needed him by 10:30 but when he got home he decided to mow the lawn which needed it don't get me wrong but then he took the lawn trimmings to the conversation center and finally at 10:45 he leaves. And my son has yet to leave and it is nearly 11:30. Where did I go wrong? Yesterday was fun. Made the salad and it was delicious! It went well too so that made me happy. We went to the block party and 10 min after arriving the rain came down in buckets for 15 min and then the night was perfect. Luckily neighbors had a porch and we all dashed there. Food was so good. And we celebrated a neighbors 80th birthday! How cool. And the best was a whole new group of families have moved in and there were lot of young kids. And my Charles had fun playing with them. And as a mom to have other parents say nice things what more could parents want! My rocking chairs were also commented on as being pretty cool. LOL.

Chris glad you had such a nice day and fun dinner. Always good to meet a new neighbor. Today should be nice.

Felis I am so sorry that the challenges and rules are ruining your time at the O. Forget the challenges and just scrap for your own enjoyment and for ours too as we love your pages! But if you need time out then take it. We will be here.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. We stayed home this wkend as I wanted to be with B and have a treat for Jen as it was her birthday yesterday. I brought up brownies to celebrate and bought a few gifts for Jen and found a few things for B too. I knew that having all 3 of us visiting would trigger her and be hard for her brain to handle, too many people, too many conversations, etc so I tried to diffuse the situation as much as I could. Jen opened her gifts here at the house before we went to see B, then at the hospital I had B sign a card for Jen and then gave Bailey the gifts I found for her (mug with a happy kitty on it and a big gold glittery tray to do her puzzles on). So we made the hospital visit about pleasing B which made J happy to see her daughter enjoying herself. She triggered 5-6 times throughout the visit but I was able to distract/redirect her thinking quickly and it was a great day. We had record breaking temps yesterday (almost 100) so we invited J to spend the night with us in our airconditoning. We went for a walk at sunset with Taz and then came back for snacks and a movie night. We'll stay home today so I can get my work overload done and we might have time this afternoon to pop into an eyeglass place to check out their sale and possibly book my eye exam appt (haven't had one done in over 20 yrs). It's time for me to start wearing glasses full time I think.

Chris - enjoy getting outdoors and have fun with your neighbors later.
Nancy - glad the flooding wasn't too bad in your area. The block party sounds like fun.
Felis - I am so sorry to hear of your struggles/misunderstanding of the challenge rules. That really defeats the purpose of scrapping, doesn't it? It should be such a fun way to express yourself and be something to look forward to. If there is any way I can help you to sort things out to understand, please message me. I hate to think that anyone gets discouraged with the challenges, they are supposed to be enjoyable, but whether you particpate in the challenges or not, I hope you continue to enjoy creating your pages and sharing them here at the O. Sorry for your frustration.

Forgot to say.....have a great day, everyone. I see by the clock that I need to get a move on, get some work done and then I can take a break and get Taz across the street for a swim. I've got my bathing suit on and can't wait to go wading in the water with him at the river soon.
