Yoohoooooo!! It is safe for you to come out. I am much more positive today, pinky swear!

I didn't have a great day yesterday, I am still fighting with my computer. ACDSee won't install but I do have a trouble ticket. A few other glitches (more than a few but I promised to be positive) but hopefully they will get resolved.

The best news is that my mom's procedure went fine and she called me when she was home and settled. I think she still was under the influence of the anesthesia because she was goofier than normal. :p She has to be very cautious in how she sits and moves for 24 hours but I think after that, she will be good to go. I really hope that this helps. She was amazed at how much the blood transfusion made her improve.

Computer stuff took up the majority of my day and I got a small bit of stuff done here. I won't be able to scrap for a while since I don't know if I *can* scrap without ACDSee! hehehe
Cait and I are running to the pantry this morning. Gary's stomach has been in such bad shape he is going to try a gluten-free diet for a while to see if that helps. I am going to see if they have produce and maybe some more meat. I wasn't planning on going since we are good on canned goods ATM, but gluten-free foods are $$$$$$ which means I am going to have to tighten up on other items to stay sort of in my budget. Of course, the cookie consumption will go way down.

The sun is out and so far, it doesn't feel too humid so I plan to spend the afternoon outside.

Gratitudes:
-that my mom is home and seems happy, the medical staff at the place were super nice to her too and I know she needed that
-sunshine
-the FP

Jean- hope that you got lots out of the class and that you enjoyed the game!

Trudy- TY for the Standing O! I wouldn't get on a plane either even though I know it has to be hard not seeing the kids. I am sure that you two will get a lot done but I also hope that you also have plenty of downtime to sit and enjoy the wine and yard together.
That is so sad about your MIL, but who knows, maybe she will change. This time last year. I never thought my mom would be ok with all of the Drs stuff she is doing.
I will tell my mom that all of you have been thinking of her!

Nancy- You have been getting the t-storms so much harder than we are. That is so funny about your sister's G-DD!
I amhappy that you got to see the baseball game. The piped-in cheers, that sounds very... odd? Almost like it would make it seem weirder. The teams are used to practicing w/o fans, right? So why would they need noise now. :noidea:
I hope you have sunshine today too!

Hugs, everyone!

Hello lovelies!
I don't know, I just love this summer! Fate send me all opportunities I'm wanted before! 10 years later and when I'm not interested of them anymore, but it's so nice to see you are wanted at work and for dates. It's not what I want, but it's so uplifting for the self-confidence!
Anyway! Today is the reopening of the music season on a few place at EU, and 2 of my most favorite singers have gigs, which makes me SOOO jealous! But it is what it is. Instead of making something fun, I bored myself (and you) with house stuffs. Mom is order woods for the fireplace and we had to I pick them up from the street to the shed. It's a small distance, but I would prefer if there it weren't so many walkers who staring how I'm sweaty at this damn hot day! I mean everybody propagandizes feminism, but then they underestimates me when I'm working with my dad, no one would notice if he was doing this with son  !

Chris, strongly hugs, darling! I'm so worried about your emotional condition past week! You are so strong, and I admire you! Best wishes for your mom's recovery! I hope that the new month will brings you new experience and you'll can have one nice summer! Just look around for the unexpected chances!

Trudy, I know you miss the kids, but when other you'll have excuse to take romantic 'vacation' without feeling guilty that miss to be otherwhere! I hope you'll be able to find the perfect balance between the planned tasks and chill moments! I love to imagine your wine evenings at the porch! Have fun!

Nancy, kids at that age are so interesting, indeed! As a little prints of their parents understandings but in combination with clear and unlimited imagination, so cute!

Jean, I hope that on a final you'll find that the class is worth it! As much as I got it, you are already satisfied from some of the stuff which makes me so happy for you!

Kay  !

LOL Chris
The teams are used to practicing w/o fans, right? So why would they need noise now. :noidea:
WOW, you gotta be kidding me! :frusty: You can't say this on serious! 'Noise' as you said it, the love and adore of the public is the food for sports/music players! Aside from adrenaline of performing, it's become just repeating mechanical actions! Fans energy is everything! :cheer2:

Hi everyone! Just a quick pop in here as I am on my way to the hairdresser this morning. Seems strange to go on a Saturday morning, but I took what I could get for an appt. It is a beautiful sunny day and lots of sunshine and hot weather coming our way. They announced a heat warning for the start of next week, so hopefully we can go spend some time at the In-Laws and enjoy the Lake. Sorry I won't have time for personals, perhaps once I get home, but I doubt that with DH being home, he will want to get busy with some chores around here LOL. Wish me luck for the next 2 weeks that I don't strangle him LOL. Anyway I gotta go :bolt: have a great Saturday everyone!!

good day - I have gotten my walk. The rain we have had has really swollen the river. It is sunny and hot and humid but at least there is not thunder storms in the forecast. My son is bringing dinner and that has me very happy. I am so enjoying a new series Longmire. I know they are books. This show is great. It is set in Wyoming. I love the scenery.

Chris glad you doing so much better. Have fun in the sun!

Trudy enjoy the day and time with your MG.

Have a great day.

Happy Sunday to all of you, how are you doing today?

It is hot and humid here. We will be over 90*F for the next several days and already the humidity is 80%. yesterday was around the same and I was only able to be outside for an hour or so. I was cutting back the spent tiger lilies that line the driveway and the heat from the pavement was reflecting all over.

I was able to get a few more things on my computer but still no word back from ACDSee tech support yet. I might have to buy the new version. It is on sale for $30 for another week so I am going to wait a few more days. My mom is doing good, spoke to her a couple of times yesterday. She is just very tired. Aren't we all?

For those of you not in the US, I wish we could express the turbulence and confusion happening here. It is so unsettling. No one knows what is happening from day to day, only that the COVID cases and deaths are growing, the protesters are being met with unidentified federal agents, and DT is not saying that he would step down if he loses in November, only that he will "have to see." Everyone I know is feeling this underlying unease. It is exhausting which is why I love to be outside. I would say that nature is predictable but even that isn't true in terms of climate change heh. ;) But plants tend to be predictable so I like and need that.

That is my goal for today, I am going to work on my food shopping list and then try to be outside as much as I can. I am sure I will head out to the back or side yard to stay out of the worse of the sun.

Wishing everyone a pleasant and cool day. People in TX and HI, be safe with the hurricanes!

Felis- I am so darn happy that you are having a great summer. Even better that everything is boosting your self-confidence, you are an wonderful person.
Wil any of the music events be streamed so you can watch from home?
Yeah, I am worried about my mental condition too. This year has not been good.
Haha! Under normal circumstances, I would say the exact same thing about that fans and cheers. But there aren't fans so I heard that they were piping in the sound of cheers. Jean and Nancy can correct me if I have that wrong (always a strong possibility!)
But *nothing* is the US seems "normal" at this point.

Trudy- enjoy the haircut!!! (psst- enjoy the quiet time too, since you are probably not going to have much of that with your non-stop Gary at home :pound: )
I hope that you are able to spend a lot of time at the ILs lake this week.

Nancy- it is HHH-- all set for a NJ summer, right?
I really liked Longmire. And the setting is beautiful. And I liked that it was a cop show but didn't have to have the shootouts in every episode. It was actually calming in a lot of ways. You will love it!

Yesterday was a long and busy day. Got a few chores done around the house... then off to see DSon-in-law (Optometrist)in early afternoon. The cornea in right eye is looking much better so I will continue with the eye drops and use ointment for both eyes now. Glad it is working. Didn't have to have eye dilated so was able to run a few other errands. Picked up some fresh fruit/veggies at Veggie Market then stopped at Sam's Club for a couple of things. Got checked out and as I was walking out realized that I had forgot to get the hearing aid batteries - the thing I had gone there for!!! Geeze!!! So put stuff in car and back inside to get the batteries. Also picked up some hand sanitizer gel... so was worth a trip back inside. I still needed to go to grocery store for a few more things but was too hot and tired to do it then. Think I will wait until Monday to go as the store is more crowded on the weekend.

My heart goes out to those who live in Corpus Christ and North Padre Island, Texas and surrounding areas due to Hurricane Hanna. We lived on North Padre Island for 4 years and had to evacuate twice due to storms. So thankful that it was only a Cat1....

Chris, so glad your mom came through her procedure okay and is back home again.

Trudy, glad you got the haircut. I really need one but the salons got closed again this past week. I broke down and bought a 'claw clasp' to help hold the hair back and off the neck. Need it this coming week as the temps are heading back up into the high 90's. Hope your DH doesn't have too many projects that he pulls you into helping with while he is off.

Nancy, how nice of your son to bring you dinner.

good morning I got my walk in. And Chris you are right it is HHH. And you are so right about Longmire. It really makes me long to be out west! My youngest son and MG brought us dinner. They really are sweet. Today is just more Longmire. I may try to scrap during baseball tonight.

Chris you are sounding so much better. I hope the outside is helping. So so glad your mom is doing so well. Everyone is tired. The world is tired.

Trudy knowing you and your MG are doing fun stuff!

Felis I am so happy you are having such a great summer. I hope it continues!

It's a beautiful day! I guess it's getting hot but inside is comfy so far. Last night I stayed up very late working on new genealogy ideas and found a record I've wanted for years. Too bad I think it's leading to a conclusion other than what I hoped, but an answer is an answer. This is all resulting from my class. Yesterday I spent time decompressing and getting back (virtually) from Pittsburgh but also got into the research. And baseball, our game on the radio and Yankees/Washington on TV. Today I even scrapped the new document in the AAM challenge. Now I've got to go make popcorn to share with DH while he does Sunday crossword puzzles.

Chris, so glad your mom is doing better and may continue to do so. What a relief. Sorry the computer is not going as well as needed but what else is new, eh? :smash: Still, getting outside is your best therapy.

Kay, love the new avatar photo! Hope you're feeling more relaxed especially with the eye doing better. Good luck (to us all) with the heat.

Nancy, I've never seen the Longmire on TV, but have read the books fairly recently and thought they were very good. You were spot on about the fan noise. Our 1st night pitcher was quoted saying it helped to feel more normal and yesterday the announcers were impressed with how accurate the types of fan "noise" was used in different situations. On TV much of the views don't really show the stands so it is easy to forget they're empty for a while. Felis also understood how any kind of performer feeds off the audience. I know I do it when speaking to a genealogy group even. Bet Luther is in front of the A/C!

Guess we won't see much of Trudy while the slave driver is home! :whip: Seriously, Trudy, if he ever retires you're going to need to teach him that you have a life and other needs for your time.

Felis, it's lovely that you're in your element now! Hope it keeps up and you can smile under your mask. We need some masked smilies maybe?

So grateful I got to take the course even though virtual
