My little weather icon/app threw me off this morning. It looked like it was supposed to rain all day today. Which in an odd sort of way, I was hoping for that. I figured I could catch up on a lot of housework as well as some scrapping too. But it looks like it won't rain until dinner time. So my dilemma is, do I stick with my indoor plans or do I spend time outside?
I have to set a timer and see if I can do both.

I got home around noon from the MRI, which in itself was uneventful. It always goes faster than what I expect. Isn't that strange? I mean, it is so darn uncomfortable and then trying to not move and it is so loud, you would think it would feel like hours in there. Have any of you felt like that?
We took W over to the lake to swim in the afternoon. That dog is insane!!! She gets herself so wound up and runs in circles and rolls on the ground at warp speed. By the lake, there is a patch of dirt and it was dry and dusty. She was like the Tazmanian Devil- kicking up clouds of dust and having a blast covering herself in dirt. The kids gave her a bath as soon as we got home, and I can't imagine what the water looked like!

I spent a bit of time in the little tiny garden, (3x3 plot) getting the cucumber vines to climb on the trellis. If they don't get eaten by critters, we will have a lot of them. I should find out how to make pickles. Have any of you done that? I don't like pickles but I know the rest of the family does. I also have been harvesting my lavender and I am going to have a really good amount of dried buds for Faery Wings products. I took a clipping from a friend's plant 2 summers ago and it is so happy!

Spoke to my mom and she loved the photo that the kids left for her and already has a place for it to hang. No surprise there. She was disappointed that there was still food in the fridge and that the house was too neat. She thought that meant that the kids didn't have a good time. I had to tell her over and over that no, the kids brought some of the own food and they cleaned the house really well before they left. Scott called her when he got home from work to tell her that himself. :p

So today- I am still not 100% sure what I am going to do. Take it as is happens I guess.

Morning all, my last day at home for a week and I am up early so that I can get all the :washing: and cleaning done. It looks like it will be a beautiful day and by the sounds of the weather forecast it will be hot and dry for the coming week. Where I am going it does not sound that good, warm but wet with lots of rain ugh!! Oh well hopefully we can get out with the boys and do something fun. Got all the flights booked yesterday and got some good deals so that is great! I will be up very early tomorrow to catch my flight and then will have to adjust to yet another time change. Only three hours but it still takes me a day or two.

Chris - Nice to hear that your plants are doing so well and the lavender will be so great for your faery products! I have never had an MRI so I can't relate to your experience, but I am happy that it went much faster than you thought it would! How great that you got to the lake with your crazy pup! She must have really enjoyed her dirt bath! I hope that you get to do both, spend time outside and get some indoor activities too! Enjoy your weekend!

I will try to pop in later on in the day and catch up with the rest of you then. Right now I better get the bed stripped and start the :washing: Have a wonderful Saturday morning everyone!

good morning - well yesterday was so fun. My DH bit the bullet and bought a new camera and so we went to our favorite birding spot to practice. We traded bodies and lens and got some remarkable photos. It was truly a fun fun day. We also found that our favorite restaurant was open but we got there too late as it is only open for breakfast and lunch. We spent so much time taking photos but at least we now know its is still there. We came home and looked at the photos and order out at this fun spot Urban Burger. We both are really pleased but we both agree that holding the 400mm lens is really hard on the arms even when sitting in a car. The green eyed biting flies are out and whew fortunately not too bad but we saw bicyclists with no shirt and not sure how he was surviving. Luther was a doggie day care and that was great. My DH's new camera is so fancy that it can charge the battery in the car. It is going to be hard to share the big lens in Alaska. Luckily a lot of our excursions are from boats or buses. I did get some scrapping done from Maine which I have to finish before I can play with the new photos.

Chris I had an MRI on my knee and they are loud but I got to have a CD play the whole time and I think I fell asleep. Glad yours is done. How great a present for your parents for the cottage from Scott. Sounds good to be in sun. Our block party was cancelled due to rain in the afternoon. But maybe next weekend.

Trudy have a great time out east. I know you and the boys will have a great time no matter the weather. Congrats on the great deals on plane flights. Hope you can check in few times.

Jean that is a bummer about rain that I think I am getting today. It should stay for several days which I am not happy about. Enjoy your meeting.

Rae hope you are enjoying the trailer!

Felis hope you are having a great weekend!

Have a great day all!

Hi, and I am back quickly for personals from yesterday-

Trudy- that is such great news that you are alls et with car seats and the countdown begins for them to be back with you. But since you are off again, I bet by Sept you are going to be shocked at being home alone!
Nooooo!!!! Don't talk about your calendars yet! That means I have loads to work on to get ready for holiday gifts and I am totally in denial about that! :hurt:

Rae- I hope that you are sleeping late and enjoying the quiet time away with D. How hard it must be to see B like that :( It breaks my heart... I can't imagine how it feels for you and for Jen.

Good luck with your shopping. I hope that your mojo stays strong.

The yoga walks are unusual too- aside from this one that I participate in, I had never heard of it before. The local medical center runs this free program every summer, you just show up for whatever activities you want. They have yoga, walks, nutrition talks, health screenings. I just do the yoga and the walks although I had done some of the nutrition workshops in the past.

Jean- hope that the weather is more cooperative for you today- do you have any good genealogy talks today?

I don't think I could downsize either. Caitlyn was looking in the filing cabinet for something for college and saw where I keep some of the special pictures/projects that the kids made for me that aren't "throw-out-able" ( like that word?? LOL) and saw a Mother's Day booklet that her 4th-grade class made for mother's day. We were hysterical reading through it. I would have been sad to have to throw it out.

Hugs to everyone!

The historical society has an event going on today that will probably make it busy so I'm staying home and working on my friend's article that I'm reviewing. It is cooler and humid today but not raining for now.

Chris, hope you have gotten outside at least a little, but the inside stuff needs doing too. Bet those cucumbers will be abundant. I've never made pickles but DH's grandmother used to back when and he likes to remember them.

Nancy, the Maine pages are coming along so well! What a fun time that was. We have an old 300 mm lens and I can no longer use it hand held though we both used to do that even though it is heavy. But the zoom on my little camera does well enough for most of my purposes these days. Did you go to Brigantine? or somewhere else good? What fun with all those photos!

Trudy, yikes, tomorrow already and you're coming to my part of the world, northern version. Our forecast isn't for especially hot days, but lots of chance of rain. But it won't rain all the time even then. Hope up in Ontario is much the same.

Rae, hope you're relaxing at the trailer.

Felis, are you shopping tomorrow in the capital?

Jean , yes tomorrow morning, do you want to take you something?!
I'll try to come and chat soon, but is so hot we melt and prefer to stay outside. So bad that we don't have outside wifi.
----------------------------------------------- Edit few hours later.

Good morning girls,
as Jean mentioned today is our grocery shopping (it's so nice that you are notice such a trivial details). So I'm between the shower and makeup and just jump to say hi. Yesterday was cat bath day, so better to not show you my hands. I looks like these sad girls which cut himself in try to forget emotional pain  . I wish I could wear long sleeves, but it's so hot. Probably today will make a barbecue, because we need more time outside.

Jean, so nice from your side to help your friends! I'm sure it's pleasure for them to have you for their editor!

Chris, I love pickles, hope you can find some good recipes at cooking sites. It's actually very simple, but I can translate all necessary spices. Hooray for the more lavender! Wish you very successful Faery Wings products season! Great that MRI was easier than you expected! I'm so jealous about the dog swim.

Trudy, your first Paris page is lovely with these big smiles. Such a nice summer for you! Send the rain to me, and I'll send you this hotness :) , hope to have great weather and much fun with the boys!

Nancy, congrats for the new camera! Have fun! When we will can see these photos?! :D I think Trudy's idea to scrap these summer photos at winter time will warm our hearts, so don't rush. Enjoy your time out! I just adore your Maine album!

Have a lovely weekend you all!

Happy Sunday O-Zies! it is rainy today and looks like we are going to have T-Storms popping up all week. It is pretty dark out too, and everyone is sleeping late this morning. Except for me. It was hard to get comfortable with Gary and two dogs pushing me off the side of the bed :pound:

My plans yesterday ended up being outside for a bit. Gary trimmed the hedges and some of the rhododendron so I cleaned up the leaves/branches, especially the ones that fell on my black-eyed Susan's. The needles must change the pH of the soil because one year I left a lot of them on the ground and most of the flowers died. Cait and I took w for a walk in the afternoon and it looked like the wanted to cross the road to walk over to the lake to swim. :dogwalk: She is a smart girl!
I made the honey tofu and chicken with sesame noodles for dinner which as you have heard me complain about many times, takes forever and thank goodness it tastes good!

I didn't get any scrapping done but I did a bit of tagging in ACDSee and I hope to scrap some today.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

Trudy- I guess that you are on your way to Heather's! Have a great time out there and we will catch up when you have time- whenever that may be haha! That is fab that you got some good deals on the flights and I hope that it doesn't take too long to get adjusted to the time changes again.

Nancy- how awesome that you and your DH were able to get great photos. It turned out to be beautiful weather for most of the day up here so I hope that you had the same.
My IL's are now in Vancouver from Alaska and have said that they think they have been getting excellent photos. Do you have a tripod to help steady the camera with your lens?
For my brain/spine MRIs I was lying on my back and yes, I think I drifted off a bit too. Breast MRIs are more uncomfortable that you have to lie face down and it makes it hard to breathe regularly. But it wasn't bad- now I just have to wait for the results to come in. :(
Can't wait to see all of your LOs!

Jean- how did the article review go? My limits on inside stuff were cleaning the kitchen a bit and laundry. I will have plenty of time to clean inside when the weather is cold :p
My DSLR is pretty old- 10 MPs. My phone has a better camera so I rarely use the "big" camera anymore.

Felis- Oh no! The cats do not like getting baths I am sure! We had a lot of scratches on us when we were giving Floyd his fluids so I can relate.

Did you end up having a barbeque for dinner? Good idea to do that when it is that hot. I took advantage of the cooler weather by making a recipe that needs to be in the oven the last 2 days. :)
I have to get ready for the week and food shopping today.(ick)

good morning - we have just gotten back from an awesome walk with Luther. Because of all the rain last night the park was very empty of dog walkers and especially bike riders. There was a lot of debris on the path. We had a lot of rain and wind. We saw a herd of deer with a buck and he had a nice rack. He had two females, one of which had two fawns and the other had just one. Luther was awesome and did not bark once. Then as we walked on the backside of the park there was a great blue heron. Luther did not see him and I got to take a lot of photos and he eventually did fly so those were pretty good photos too. Yesterday was a stay at home. The Tour de France is pretty cool. And then baseball. I did get a lot of scrapping done. I did post the pages of the flight from Venalhaven back to Rockland if you wish to see the plane and photos. I hope to finish up the Maine trip photos today. My DH agreed to make us French toast but then remembered we had no milk so my son who is desperate for French toast went to get some LOL.

Chris all I know is today is so humid! Yesterday was good until 7ish and then the rain started. And it lasted all night. Today is cloudy and then the sun comes out so expecting thunderstorms this afternoon for sure. Glad you made a great dinner even if it is hard. I am sure they all appreciated the great dinner. I bet the walk was awesome. Luther found puddles today and he loved them!

Trudy good flying!

Jean sounds like great idea to stay home and review the article. It cracks me up that I bought a mirrorless camera to weigh less and now I have a heavy lens. I do have a tripod so hopefully that will help.

Felis we tried one time to give Shadow a bath and she so hated it that we have never tried again. But she is not an outdoor cat so we don't feel that it is so necessary. Well at least that is our excuse.

Have a great day all!
