Happy weekend!!

It looks like we are getting all of the rain that PA had last week. It didn't rain hard yesterday but it was grey and drizzly on and off. I ended up taking advantage of the cooler weather to do yard work instead of going to the lake.

Right now I am fighting with my internet which is going reaaaaaallly slow.......
So I am going to say hi and good morning and offer you all some :tea:

sorry about the rain i sent you, Chris. but if the wind direction stays the same, i'm sending you comfortably warm and sunny weather in a day or two! hang in there!

going to a wedding in the city today. there's also a Pirates baseball game ( with fireworks, so half of the city turns out for those games...) and there's a bunch of other stuff going on downtown. so, GETTING to the wedding should be an adventure. i predict an abundance of swearing by me on the way there. :rant:

Morning ladies, off to spend waaayyy too much $$ at the grocery store today and look for a swing for the baby while Mason and his Mommy and Daddy for a few weeks in August. Can't wait to see my sweet little man again!!

Chris - Sure hope you get some summer soon! But I guess it was good to get your hands dirty in garden yesterday!! I always find it very therapeutic even though I can get very stiff and sore from too much of it!

Phylis - Have fun at the wedding! Hope getting to it doesn't stress you out too much :becky: patience my friend patience !!

Well I got the bear all painted on my sister's big black bin and it turned out pretty good! I also helped her put up a huge outdoor pool for her grandkids to use this summer. She was very happy to have me there as her hubby can't do any lifting or hard work for a while after having his heart attack. We were glad to have him there to read the instructions for us! It would have taken us forever otherwise LOL. Will post a picture of the bear I painted soon, but for now I have to get going to the grocery store Uggggh!! Enjoy your Saturday everyone!! Internet seems to be behaving a bit better. whew!

My IL's came up yesterday. My MIL finished our quilt. Its been a year in the making and it is just gorgeous!!!! Purples and teals, so pretty! I had to do the super quick clean the house. The pets have been shedding so much in the heat and there was fur flying everywhere. LOL Then I took Scott out driving a bit. He goes for his license in 5 weeks. He still needs work on decision-making. I guess that is all experience? I think he relies on me to tell him when it is ok to go but its so hard not to say something if I see a car coming.

off to the lake today, it is going to be another heat wave this week ahead too.

Chris, post a photo of the quilt! sounds gorgeous.

well, we did the friend's daughter's wedding yesterday. left home really early to avoid traffic, and found there to be basically NO traffic, so we got to our destination an hour early. happily, there were other people who had the same idea as we did and they were early, too. the venue was kind of disappointing. it was HOT in there! the food was pretty bad, too, which is unfortunate, because it was a lot of really ritzy-sounding food. (some sort of raw tuna, soba noodles, etc., etc.,) that probably cost a LOT, but everything was lukewarm. I had two meatball-sized beef "sliders" (meat only) and some marinated veggies. and three glasses of red. so the red mitigated the dearth of food I could or actually WANTED to eat. but the bride and groom were SO cute. she wore this really sweet sort of cocktail dress, and he just wore his best suit. they were adorable.

and how did THIS happen? I woke up to discover that it's supposed to be 90 degrees here today!! so, I went outside early and watered the garden and did my roundandround walking. now i'm hunkered down in the AC, making potato salad, etc. for dinner tonight. Hubby will be cooking burgers outside. our one room AC unit won't be able to handle 90 degrees AND cooking heat.

but, wow, is the SKY gorgeous. beautiful blue, and not a cloud. THAT makes me smile, after so many weeks of rain and gray skies.

oh I was disappeared this weekend- went back to NY to a family reunion for my husbands family. Had a wonderful time and ate breakfast at an amazing diner- stellas in Syracuse- my goodness the food was excellent and cheap!
 
Quick pop in for me tonight!!! Chris, you and I seem to go through the same stuff with our kiddos...Quent is a permit driver right now, too. And I totally yelled at him to stop tonight when he didn't really see a car coming when he turned onto another street. And it took him a long time to stop! I was like, "this is exactly why I taught you early in life to stop immediately when I tell you to stop! So when you were little, you wouldn't kill yourself by running into the street!! And now, you still need to stop immediately when I say to!!" I'm not sure if he was phased or not...he just kept right on talking about what we were talking about before he almost hit (or got hit by) the car coming!! eeeek! (and this is why his daddy is teaching him!! not good for my blood pressure!!)

Just had to pop in and say that I'm going through what you are, Chris!! :) hugs!!!
