What a day I had yesterday!
I swear, I feel like I drove all over North Jersey. I didn't but I think I spent more time in the car than not. That is also a 100000% exaggeration but might as well keep going. :floorlaugh:

I did my normal morning routine and had extra time to talk with Caitlyn since she has Fridays off with summer hours. As I was getting ready to leave for the FP, the woman who runs it called. They had gotten a huge delivery and could I meet her at 11. I pop over to see if my friend needed any help at the garage sale when I get a text from my brother: Can you call me. That's never good.
He is in a panic. My mom called 911 and was on her way to the ER. Some unexplained bleeding that wouldn't stop. He was working from home but didn't know if he should go to the the hospital or wait. IMHO, it is better to wait, so I suggest that I meet him at his house when he was off the clock and figure out what to do from there. In the meantime, I got to the FP a few minutes early and Donna was still in the middle of the delivery. I felt so bad for being early. But at this point, I am rattled and I apologize and explain why. Donna dropped everything to help me and kept saying how she was worried about me and my mom and threw so much food in my bag so I didn't have to worry about cooking. I am practically in tears from her kindness as she hugged me and said that she was going to pray. (FP is out of a Catholic Church)
Get home, unpack the bags, grab leftovers for lunch and am out the door- on my way to my brother's. He texted me my mom had been released and that my parents were going to his house. Halfway there, he calls me and says change of plans, they are back at there house and he has to be at his for some yard work going on.
Visit with my parents for an hour. Drive to my brother's. I was worried about him- he said he has been having anxiety attacks this past week and he sounded like he needed someone to talk to. My SIL is in Germany for a business trip and my nephew is 14 and was down the shore with friends.
Spent an hour there and he seemed better.
Drove home.

Caitlyn made a chick pea curry that was delish and I was thrilled not to have to cook.

I signed up for a Forest Bathing walk this morning as a "research" project for Weis and man, i am glad that I did, I need it! As soon as I am done with that, I am going to work to help with the Forestry Merit Badge. I looking fwd to that, I am not that great with tree id and this will help.

HAGD!

Hope the yard sale goes well today!
She seemed busy every time I pulled in and out of my driveway :p

Here I am, arisen from the depths of granddaughter chaos and activity.
Welcome back!! I hope that you had time to get a bunch of fantastic photos of you and the girls.
I’ll try to keep up now that life is calmer. I hope you all are having a good summer. Lots of patio wine and BBQs.
That sounds like an awesome summer plan!

@BrightEyes you poor thing, I hope that you are 100% better today. Don't forget to stay hydrated.
Big hugs for you on Bill's and Patrick's birthdays. Such a sad double whammy for you and your sister on both occasions, births and deaths. :hug3:

This. Exactly. Some months the AJ weeks are emotional and it makes me wonder what will week four be like? Will I survive and get to week four? I love the LO you posted so far.
TY! And yeah, some of the challenges are tougher than others. I have to think about week three soon and then do my wrap-up.
Ooooh, I like sassy! I would have been terrified to tell my hairdresser to cut more and more off. I get an inch off the ends and feel a little woozy. LOL

Sorry about all of my acronyms!

Tracy!!!! You look amazing!!!!!! What a great smile and love the hair!!

@BoatLady You must be having a blast with the family. Everything you are doing sounds fun, exciting, and productive. How neat to be able to see the progress of Mike's house in person.
Pictures of you on the excavator???

Tracy I LOVE your hair! It's flows so nicely and shows your pretty face off so well. Just gorgeous!
I got scalped yesterday too, it's closer to a buzz, but not really. It will grow but summer at the pool and hot does not play well with hair.
It's not even the heat, it's the dang humidity! It was only in the lower 80s here yesterday but the humidity made the real feel in the 90s. My hair is one big frizzy knot. hahah!

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!

Wow! What a whirlwind of a day for you yesterday! But sounds like it ended well!
Have fun "relaxing" in the woods today after the nerve-racking day you had yesterday!

Good morning,
Not much going on here today. I will probably do some laundry and some more scrapping. Other than that I need to catch up on my check book.
I had an extra 40% off coupon for Kohl's and needed to get some sheets and blackout curtains. Plus I found a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt's Amanda jeans and a pair of capris on sale. Normal price was $600 but I got everything for $200 and $30 Kohl's cash plus free shipping! Cha-ching!
Have a great weekend!

@faerywings ---When it rains it pours!!!!...so sorry to hear of the complications with your parents it's such a worry. It's hard to deal with aging parents..lucky for you that your brother is involved too. I'm glad you were able to talk to him but that is putting more stress on you so make sure you take care of yourself...voice of experience here! So nice that you had dinner ready when you got back from that busy/stressful day.

@vickyday --great shopping !!!

Going to do some weed trimming for our son as they are busy working on the house.

Morning, gals. I slept in until 7:30AM this morning. Feeling much better - the stomach upset lasted until around noon yesterday. I spent most of the day in the recliner reading and napping a bit. Had some oatmeal for supper and no bad reaction from eating... so think it is over and things are settled back to normal. The girls and grandson went to see "Superman" in the afternoon. They were not impressed.... said it was not as good as the earlier Superman movies. But they were glad to get out and relax for the afternoon.

Tracy... great haircut. Really looks good.

@faerywings - so sorry to hear about the incident with your mom going to the ER. And... the mix-up as to where they were going to go when she was released. It is always so stressful and your brother was stressed to the max without his family around to be with him. No wonder you were worried about him, too. Hope your mom's injury wasn't too bad.

Good Morning Ladies!

What a day I had yesterday!
Oh Chris! What a day! Glad you have a nice hike in the woods planned for today. What happened with your mom? Did you ever find that out? How scary that had to be for all of you. Your poor brother. I'm glad you were able to drive all over and make sure everything was good. :hug2:
Ooooh, I like sassy! I would have been terrified to tell my hairdresser to cut more and more off. I get an inch off the ends and feel a little woozy. LOL
Sassy works :floorlaugh: I was feeling it. It cracks me up, I'm so different. My friend here said the same thing. So brave to cut it off. But you know what? It grows back. While she was cutting it it was just wrong length. Like too long to be short but too short to be long. So it needed more off to be sassy. Stylist even said yeah that's better. Its rare I have the same hair for a year. The length fluctuates a ton and sometimes the color changes but that's about once a year too. Hair and I have never been super attached to a style or color. I always tell the stylist, I wont cry. Never cried over hair cuts. Some cuts I haven't liked after a month but yeah just keep going.

Thank you all for the positive comments on the haircut. Its still weird and getting use to it not being long. Hugging hubs yesterday I told him "your pulling my hair" and he was instant release sorry and then wait there was no hair! I was like yep, isn't it nice?

Not a lot happening today. Still lingering cold snotty feels but mostly better. No longer contagious so that's nice. Need to grab more coffee before the teens wake up and drink it all. Have a wonderful day!

@faerywings I posted pages of our son's McCabin in my album if you want to see it. Jay has been helping him so they are making allot of progress on the wood walls. Mike has to leave tomorrow so he is making a big push to get more done. Yup I will make a page of me using the excavator...LOL

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!
Well, I have to say I don't have the frizz problem, but hair itself it HOT and in summer mine "bends" so if I go in the pool it sticks out funny.
And you are so darn right about that humidity here in NJ, even with "cooler" temps, I looked at one point and humidity was 76%, no wonder I was dripping....

Happy Sunday! How are you doing today?

I slept really well until about 4 and I think I should have stayed awake. I fell back asleep, must have had some strange dreams b/c when I woke up again, I had that feeling of dread. I know that something "bad" happened in the dream but I have no idea what it was. Don't you hate when that happens?
I should have gone back to my dream from the night before last when I woke up irritated because Gary adopted a cat and a kitten in that dream. Hahah!

The Forest Bathing Walk was so nice. Took me a while to get my brain settled but once I did it was wonderful. The leader does her walks very differently than Lauren does but it was very cool experience. The woman is also one of Caitlyn's friend's mom so it was funny to chat about the kids.
The Forestry Badge went well. I took notes on how to teach it once I am certified. There were only 8 kids so we finished a little early. My brother was so sweet, he gave me money to get take out so we put that to last night's dinner so no one had to cook. I should text him another thank you.

What is up for today...
Grocery order and meal planning. Helping my friend with her garage sale. Getting ready for the week ahead. I have my final appt with the orthopedist tomorrow morning and will be visiting with my parents on the way home. On Wednesday, I am leading a field trip for a developmentally disabled high school group and I don't know what I am supposed to be doing. There are usually lesson plans to follow but this one only has a broad outline. Hike/Scavenger Hunt (that I can do), Fire Safety, and Games. Lauren is the person who usually runs this, but she is on a month-long sabbatical. I think I will be winging it and I don't like that feeling!

Whatever you do today, I hope it is the *best!*

Sweeeeeet!!!!

I know-- i tend to be the sounding board for my family and there are times that I *know* I need to step back but it is difficult.

@BrightEyes So happy to hear you are feeling better and the food isn't bothering your stomach.
That is too bad about the new Superman movie. I don't watch many movies but I personally don't understand the draw of redoing superheros movies over and over again. But if they had a nice time just relaxing together, it is worth it :)
What happened with your mom? Did you ever find that out? How scary that had to be for all of you. Your poor brother. I'm glad you were able to drive all over and make sure everything was good. :hug2:
She had a lesion that opened up and where it was located, she couldn't tell where the blood was coming from, internally or externally. She is on blood thinners so of course it wasn't stopping. More frightening than dangerous. Whew.

Need to grab more coffee before the teens wake up and drink it all.
That means war!

That's awesome, will keep my eyes peeled!!

My hairdresser has shoulder-length hair. Her trick is that she buzzes underneath, so the nape to ears is short. You'd only know that it's buzzed if she pulls it all the way up. Whatever works in this humidity is good!

HUGS!!

Sounds like you had a great time in the woods yesterday!

Morning, gals. Yes, I am feeling 'back to normal'!!! :D Had a good day yesterday. Made it over to the library - picked up 4 books (2 from a "new to me" author). Then on to the Used Books/DVD store and bought 6 DVDs. Then to the dollar store to score 4 lovely place mats for the kitchen table. It was hot, hot, hot... (99*F) so glad my car has a good A/C that made the trips tolerable. Had supper and decided to watch "Twister" (the older one with Helen Hunt). Just a few minutes into it.. weather turned ugly... with lightening/thunder here. Only a little bit of rain at my house but the east side of town got pounded!!! Was funny to have the weather outside echoing what the movie was showing. Thank goodness no tornadoes happened here! But the eastern part of the state is under a flood watch.

Well... guess the curtain rod in the master bath is bad... the sheer window curtain over the glass block window fell again yesterday.... second time this week. The curtain has heat blocking fabric so keeps the room 10* - 15* cooler. Will have to look for a new spring-loaded rod this week.

@faerywings So glad the Forest Bathing walk made you feel much better.... Relieved that your mom didn't have to stay in the hospital. With her on blood thinners - it is scary any time she has a bleeding issue. Hope this next week will be a much calmer week for you and the family.

DD#1 will be coming back to stay with me for the next few days. Hope to make it to base tomorrow to pick up Rx from the pharmacy and do a commissary run. Will be glad for her help getting groceries and putting them away. It is the only day this week with no rain predicted.

Got this week's Free With Purchase LO uploaded this morning. Not sure how much scrapping I will be able to do this week with DD#1 here and the errands we need to run. BBL

Good morning ladies. I spent yesterday in bed, dizzy and achy from plugged ear. Ended up in urgent care last night to get it flushed out. I didn't realize how much hearing I was losing in my right ear until I got it taken care of last night and then realized I could hear so much better. I have small ear canals so the doctor recommended I put in olive oil drops every week to keep it all lubricated and unplugged.

We are finally able to switch our internet/tv provider this week as our contract is ending. I feel like it can't be any worse than what we had and hopefully will be better. Even with equipment swap and the tech coming out to check everything, the PVR freezing and disappearing for hours continued so hopefully we won't have this problem with the other company. I'm always nervous when we make that kind of change so won't cancel the original company until the setup is complete.

@faerywings A forest walk sounds lovely. You know I would enjoy that.

@vickyday Oh boy, I sure miss shopping at Kohl's and using K's cash. We don't have any shopping close to our Alberta border, not like the west coast where I could be at Kohl's within the hour. That's one of the few things I miss about living in BC.

@BrightEyes Glad you are feeling good and I remember that movie with Helen Hunt (who I have always liked).

I'm going to get outside and do some cleanup before it gets too hot out. HAGD everyone.

So @faerywings have things settled down with your parents? We would like an update. I would like to go Forest Bathing with you. I love the smell of pines and the musty smell of leaves on the forest floor.

@BrightEyes I'm glad you are back to normal and hope you get to base with your daughter. How nice that she is visiting again. I remember the heat of NM when we were there last year, I'm with you needing that car A/C running well. It is so important. Spring rods do wear out so I would guess you will need a new one.( I used to work at a custom decorating shop)

Well this morning I had a nice chat and coffee with our son by the pond. He is going back to home in CT to work so it was nice to spend time with just him. He worked here all week on that retirement home so we helped and he had an employee up here working on the heating systems. We helped them pack up. They loaded the small excavator so they can take it to his place in Maine.
Sarah and Reed had left on Thursday so I feed everyone since then. Now it is really quiet here. We did a grocery run and I cleaned the trailer. Tomorrow we leave for Lake Placid.
It was nice to be without service for the first week but it has been better to have internet. This place is in a remote area with nothing and I always worried because they couldn't even call for help if they needed it. Mothers worry!!!

Well I better go I want to make a few pages to post since I can now!!!
