Happy July! Do any of you have a long holiday weekend? Our 4th of July is a Tuesday and some people are off on the 3rd as well. Caitlyn's daycare is open on the 3rd but only 10 kids in the entire place will be there so she doesn't need to go in. I think she is actually a bit bummed.
There is one girl that has bonded with her and as Cait was rubbing her back at naptime, she kept saying "I love Miss Caitlyn" until she was fast asleep.

Scott managed to scratch his cornea at work from a tree branch. That brought back memories of every year as a kid how my dad did that on our Christmas tree. He is such a character. He walks in the door and he calls out- Hey, I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that I lightly scratched my cornea. The good news is that I got an eye patch!"
He was wearing a black eye patch like a pirate. He has this thing for pirates and pirate paraphernalia and pirate sayings. One of which is a "boom, ha-ha!" said in a pirate voice, whatever that is. So I yelled "BOOM!" and he yells back "HA-HAAAA!" :yarpirate
Crazy kid of mine.

My MRI was fine, a neck MRI is a piece of cake compared to a breast MRI. Just had to lie on my back, my neck was all supported, and I could breathe normally. My breast MRI was so difficult since I had to lie on my stomach with my arm over my head, which hurts cuz that is the shoulder that hurts when I do that. And breathing-- had to take shallow breaths so I didn't move my ribcage too much. Not looking forward to having to do that in October.

off to the Food Pantry this morning and scrapping this afternoon. It is supposed to be cloudy and raining all day so it will be a good one to lay low. The weather had been so nice all week that it was hard for me to stay inside and rest. But I have all summer ahead of me.

Hope that all of you have a super weekend! xoxo

Nancy- I love hearing how Taz and Luther come home after daycare all pooped out. We need something like that for Jaida. She snapped her lead yesterday. it was either rated for 100 lbs or 150 lbs but she snapped the wire while barking at the UPS truck. Thankfully, Gary was outside with her but now we have to take her outside on a leash. She isn't aggressive, just territorial but it seems to be getting worse, not better.

Any ideas, Fellow Dog Moms?

What is a Nintendo Switch? Hope whatever it is, your son had fun with it.

Rae- enjoy your weekend at the trailer- it sounds like it will be very relaxing and I know that you need that!

good morning - today is a great day for me as a sports fan (nut LOL). Today is the start of the Tour de France so I will have it each morning for the next 3 weeks. Yea. And for the hockey in me it is Free Agent Frenzy. All NHL players who are not signed by a team can starting today sign with new teams. My Devils made a big splash by buying out the contracts of two players Michael Cammalleri and Devante Smith-Pelly. By buying out their contracts they get paid 3/4 of what was owed over years of the contract. So my Devils have the most room under the CAP. I was not sad to see either of these two bought out as they did not score a goal in the last part of the season. But as I read on Twitter Cammalleri had the number 13 and that is the number that my first pick over all Nico Hischier wears so now Nico can have 13. Though I doubt that is the real reason Cammalleri was let go. Luther had his check up and he passed so that is great. Made my last Blue Apron meal of the week Cajun style chicken with cole slaw and potato salad. OMgosh it was awesome. It even was enough for 3 of us. My son and DH really liked it as did I. My son and DH have a 4 day holiday and they are happy and so is Luther as he has his whole family here.

Chris so glad the MRI went well. Poor Scott can't believe he had another mishap. He really does remind me of son who is always banging some while working on the cars. So glad that Cait's job is going so well. Have fun scrapping. Chris I wish I could help with doggie info but I have no clue.

Rae hope you are enjoy the time at the trailer. And yes it is awesome that summer has arrived.

Trudy saw the photo on Facebook and just amazing how your family looks like you. I am sure you are all waiting for that baby!

Have a great day all!

Good afternoon, ladies. We went into town this morning and got groceries and did a bit of shopping. We both found great deals. Then back to the trailer for lunch and saw that Jen had left a message for us. She is feeling a bit blue that it's Canada Day and she was working and then going home alone to her apartment. She always spends Canada Day with her hubs and daughter so she was feeling sad about the change to the family dynamics so she called us to see if she could come to the trailer for the rest of the wkend and we'll all go to the casino tonight. Work gave her the time off and I'm glad b/c she's been working lots and needs a break. They are training her for managerial position and has gotten a raise and full time with them.

Because of the US/Canadian exchange this year we haven't gone to the casino here so this will be a fun treat tonight. Jen will be here in an hour or so, so I'm taking Taz out soon for a walk before she gets here, and I'll BBQ and then we'll head out for a few hours of fun. Glad she is coming out, she's been working wkends so not able to join us here yet this year.

Chris - glad the MRI was ok and hope you get to relax and scrap today.

Nancy - enjoy all your sports stuff. Glad Luther is ok now. Cajun chicken and coleslaw is one of my fave meals.

Gotta go and take Taz out for a walk in the warm sunshine. It's such a beautiful wkend here (finally). Hope you all are having a great wkend.

It looks like it will be a beautiful day today! Sunny, not humid, at least now right now. ya never know what will happen in NJ. ;)

How was everyone's Saturday? My Canadian friends, can someone explain a bit of the "apology" for Canada Day to First Nations? I saw it pop up a bit on social media, but I wasn't sure of how serious a policy/idea it is. In theory, I imagine it is a good thing and something that I think the US, founded in indigenous genocide, should do. Anyway, enough of my soap-boxing for today.

Cait and I went to the FP together and I thanked the woman who runs it for making it so much easier. She told me that growing up, she went hungry and wished that her mom had done this for her and her older brother. Dad was an alcoholic. Yikes. I told her that her compassion and understanding really shows. I think that made her feel good too. A win-win.

It will be very nice during the summer months because the Farmers Market donates some of their leftovers and I came home with some bunches of fresh lettuce.

It rained a lot on and off all day but it is good for Scott's grass seed he put down in the backyard. It is already starting to sprout. I am going to do some yardwork this morning. He has worked so hard on the yard that I don't want to see any of the weeds encroaching.

I hope that all of you have a super day!!
Trudy, my fingers are crossed that the baby comes soon!

Nancy- you are going to be in sports heaven. But your post made me hungry. I kept reading "Cammalleri" as calamari. hahaha!!!
That is fantastic that you will have everyone home for the long weekend. Does Luther notice when your son is away during the week? Bet he is very happy when he comes back home.
Scott has been at Leah's this weekend so it has been quiet here. OK, as quiet as it can be with Caitlyn around. She is ridiculous. :p He will be home today, so that will make me happy.
The Blue Apron dinner sounds so good. I love fresh coleslaw. I should really buy some cabbage and make a batch up.
Gary and I were laughing at Scott too with his work mishaps- he didn't fall too far from the apple tree at all. I guess Cait didn't either as she told us how a 3-yo hit her because he was being spoken too about hitting another child on the playground. BTDT!

Rae- that must have been a tough call for Jen to make, but I am glad that she did and came out to the trailer. Hope you did well at the casino. I know you tend to be very lucky there.
That is fantastic news about her job!! Tell her I said congrats!

good morning I am watching stage 2 of the TdF. They are racing 126 miles wow it boggles my mind and they are doing it in the rain. I am not sure what happened but my sciatic has flared and I really can barely walk. I am resting and with heat and vibration heating pad. This sucks and I am getting old and it is making me sad. I love to walk and not to be able to really is not good. Poor Luther just does not understand. So I have been doing nothing - got a bit of scrapping done and that is it. My Devils did pick up a really good center - Brian Boyle and then players that can play in the AHL or if needed in the NHL. I like that my team is going younger and faster - it will be interesting to see how they do.

Chris yes the day is going to be nice with blue skies, warm temps and lower humidity. Enjoy the time in the sun! That is just so awesome that Scott is doing your garden and lawn. Glad to hear that the FP had such fresh food.

Rae have fun at the casino! How fun to have Jen come and join the fun. It is sad that her family dynamic changed and so glad she has you to have fun with. Glad you found bargains.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. We were out late at the casino and had fun but no one won, we all came home with empty wallets. It's been a long time since we were out til 1:30 am and we got to bed around 2:30. It's a lazy morning, Darrell and I are still in our jammies, relaxing, and Jen is still sleeping. Later we'll have lunch and head over to the lake with Taz.

Darrell wants to go home tonight after dinner as we have some things to do at home which is fine with me. I want to get some garden cleanup done early tomorrow morning before it gets too hot out and I'd like to get some food prep done (coleslaw and ranch dressings and shredding of cabbage and cauliflower).

Chris - the apology is for the government's placing of aboriginal children years ago into schools, away from their community, where they were mistreated and abused.

Nancy - so sorry to hear of your sciatica acting up. I had a bad flareup yrs ago and thankfully none since. I know how painful it is. Hope you recover quickly.

Trudy - I know she must be just loving all the family time.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

We went to Mississippi (2 hours) to visit with friends who had a party. It was fun to catch up. i was exhausted when I got home and am just veging now.

nancy- you sure love your sports. I am a huge football fan. It will be different without my FIL who watched every game we did every Sunday at our house. sorry to hear about your sciatica

Our dogs were on a crazy eating schedule- 5 am (yes) and 5 pm (they start going crazy at 4pm! Now, at 5 pm they could care less and may not eat for several hours. The problem is- my big boy (Londo) tends to eat his food and then goes after his sisters food because she is still afraid. Londo does not need any more food- he is over 90 lbs!
