Good morning and a happy weekend to you all!
Are all of you snuggled in bed, sleeping late? I was able to sleep until 6.30. That felt really good. I was tired yesterday.

I made my mom's seashell candleholder and I think it came out pretty darn nice. I need to clean off some of the hot glue strings from the glass and I will take a pic of it to share. One thing that I wanted to do was make a little hang tag with the Belmar Exit number- Nancy will tell you -- Exit numbers are a big thing in NJ. ;) But when I starting to look online for something to print, I realized how small it would be so I decided that I wasn't going to bother with it. Since I pulled out a bunch of craft boxes from the bottom of the closet, I spent another hour and a half trying to sort through and organize them. It looks *exactly* the same as it did before I started.
My mom and dad are coming up tomorrow for breakfast so I will give that to her then. I have to make a card for her too. *adds that to my To-Do List*

I have to clean a bit downstairs, everything gets so dusty this time of year. Food pantry this morning, then my niece and her boyfriend are coming to visit. Not to see me-- nope, they are bringing her rats and they are going to have some time to hang out with Cait's rats. Yes, a rat play date.

Have a great day!

Jeanette- I had a hysterectomy 4 (it was really that long ago???) years ago and I had to do the same. It was really hard for me to not try to be on my feet. I also was struggling with Lyme and was on IV antibiotics and would try to cook and clean while pushing around my IV pole. My family would get so mad at me but I would look at the clutter and get so annoyed at it all.
I am glad that you stopped doing what you were doing and relaxed the rest of the day. You know that you did too much- just as I would know it too. But I understand why you did!

Nancy- that is exactly why my dad's surgeon told him about his hip. That he would know when the pain of the joint would be worse than the surgery. He never regretted it for a minute once it was done, only the question of why he waited so long.

Kay- 15* :faint: Is that unusual for your area at this time of year? We are much milder than we normally are, we will be around 40* today. One thing -- probably the *only* thing- I like about snow is seeing the little footprints in it. Very smart of you to not go out in it.
My laundry room isn't large at all, 6'x4', maybe? There is the washer/dryer and a small cabinet against the wall. But we have shelving along 2 walls and that is where the pillows and comforters got shoved.
That is really cool about your sewing and that you got to model some coats. My MIL goes to so many of the quilt conventions and always comes back excited when she meets some of the celebrity quilters :)

Trudy-- on no... sorry that the cold is getting so bad. I hope that the fresh air helped and that you didn't overdo it. Have a great time with your sisters today!!

Rae- how was the workday, not toooo busy? Hope that you and Taz got some good walks in. Enjoy your visit with B today and the party tonight.

Jeanette- your explanation made perfect sense in English. I am sorry that you had to go through that. :( I had a tumor removed in 2014 and thankfully, didn't need any reconstruction surgery. I have a caved-in boob-- but I can live with that. :p
Yes, whenever I tell anyone to not stress about the house or to take it easy, they laugh at me too.

Can't believe it but I woke up at 3 AM and couldn't go back to sleep... I really tried hard but the eyes and the brain were determined to stay awake. <<< ugh >>> I was asleep by 9PM so got about 6 hours of sleep. I haven't been drinking enough water lately so I am trying to drink 8 ozs of water for every cup of coffee or drink I have during the day. I got a jug out and filled it with the amount of water I should have. Well, yesterday was a total bust as I only got about half of it down. Hope I do better today.

Got up to 21 degrees by 7:30 AM and suppose to get to 36 or so today!! Chris, this is lower than normal for nighttime temps but it has happened before when we get lots of snow and/or an arctic cold front comes in. Kind of holding my breath as another front is coming in tomorrow with more snow. Isn't suppose to be as bad as this last one.

Hi, Scrap-Genie!!! Glad you dropped in before your meeting.

Jeanette, one of my daughters had breast cancer and reconstructive surgery, so understand what you are dealing with. The good news is that she is now coming up on 8 years cancer-free. Wishing you the same good news and success she has had. They had just moved here near me when she got the diagnosis so I was able to be with her during that time.

Rae, glad your work day wasn't too busy for you. Always an adjustment when you go back after time off.

Trudy, hope your congestion/cold is improving. Such a shame that your fellow wanted to 'share' with you!

Speaking of laundry rooms... mine is just a tad bigger than yours, Chris. I have one shelf above the machines where I store baskets and other bulky items. My hubby installed a set of cabinets on the wall to the left and about the same height [up from the floor] as the other shelf. He put in a long closet-type rod so I can hang clothes as I get them out of the dryer. That is a time-saver as I have empty hangers stored there, too. There is just enough room under the rod and between the washer and the wall to store the folding table and folding chairs. The vacuum, ironing board and laundry baskets are tucked in along that wall, too.

I was feeling energetic yesterday so changed the sheets on my bed and washed them, and also did the towels. Then ran out of steam. So spent some time relaxing in the recliner and reading. I finished "Taken" and am re-reading "Full Disclosure" another in that series by Dee Henderson.

I saw a preview of Passage that will be showing on Fox Network. Is that the one you gals were talking about??? Looks really interesting.

Got a call that SiL has an appointment with the neurosurgeon on Wed. His wife has to work so asked if I could take him. Of course, I agreed. She will drop him off on the way to work that morning. So glad they were able to get an appointment so quickly.

good morning - it is in the 40s and raining hard. My DH took Luther out for a walk. He is such a good doggie dad. Both will come back drenched but happy. My Devils won last night in a shoot out and it was our first shoot out win. My rookie goalie Blackwood was injured and Kinkaid came in and did a great job. It was a weird first goal as the Coyote player knocked the goal off the pegs and my Devils player Hischier shot the puck. Refs decided to give the goal deciding that it would have gone in if the net had been in place. How cool is that. I was shocked. It was Hischier's Birthday and he is no longer a teenager. Nice birthday gift! The USA also defeated Russia which was awesome. It was so close. A nail biter as they say. So now tonight the USA will play Finland for the gold. This a record for the USA to have medaled in 4 straight years. The Captain for the Canadian team is a draft choice of the Ducks and the Ducks reported that he had a separated shoulder he played through. I am sorry but for an 19 year old to be playing injured is just wrong. The poor kid was so bullied on Instagram for missing a penalty shot. But he is so mature that he has he agency post a note saying that he understands the pressure and how much Canada wanted to win on home ice but he said to remember that other teams are good too. I doubt my 18 year old son back in the day would be this mature. Social media is fun for news but sad when it gets so negative. But I am happy the USA is still playing. It was fun as they showed in the stands two dad's former hockey players John Madden (two time Cup winner with my Devils) and Keith Primo a Flyer who my Devils had to play many times. They were so happy watching their sons. But boy does that make me feel old. Got my July pages done - took 8 pages so not sure I will post all. Now on to Aug. Looking forward to the next episode of Outlander. I can watch at midnight.

Chris I cant believe you are having rat play dates that so cracks me up! I hope you photos of this. And we need photos of the candle holder. And yes Parkway exit are so necessary. LOL Have fun.

Hi Jean have fun at the seminar!

Kay do you live anywhere near the Nature preserve Bosque del Apache. I so want to go there in the fall and see all those migrating birds. Glad it sounds like snow melting but sorry it might be just in time for me snow. Hope your SIL's appointment goes well. That is awesome that you are there to help with transportation and awesome they got such a quick appt. Enjoy the reading.

Trudy hope your are feeling better and hope the MG of yours gives you the weekend off with no errands. Hope the rain is not too bad. You seem to be getting as much as we are.

Rae have fun with B. I know she loves the visits. Glad that your work load has not been to bad at the start of the new year.

Jeannette yes I must have a new knee. I know it will take time to recover and after raising two boys and having a German Shepherd I have learned to not require a perfect home. But sometimes it just is too much LOL. I have gotten to the point where I just am not going to nag. Makes me happier, at least until it gets too much.

Have a great day all!

Nancy, Bosque del Apache is about 100 miles south of here. I have been past it but not during the spring time or autumn when the birds are migrating.

:hello: everyone! I am still very sick and had terrible fever and chills most of the night. I think my fever finally broke around midnight and so I got some sleep after that. I have never slept so much in my life as with this darn cold! It is the worst cold I have ever had in my entire life! I can't believe that my DH went to work feeling like this! Seems I hit the couch every 30 minutes for another nap LOL. Not sure that I will make it to the pedicure with my sisters, I really do not want to spread this cold around. So I will get off of the computer and just try to get better today! I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!! :sorry: for the complaining! Hope to be able to catch up with you all tomorrow!

Good morning, ladies. Just popping in to say hi. I went jogging with Taz, came home to find out that D threw his back out moving some boxes in the garage (his heavy work equipment). So after walking on his back, trying to pop it back into place, I'm grabbing a quick shower, then he can get into the tub to soak for 1/2 hr and maybe then he'll come to see B with me. Then home to get ready and head out to a party tonight. I'm pretty sure he'll go to the party regardless of how he feels but he'll get to sit down most of the time so maybe that'll be ok. I guess we'll figure it out later this afternoon.

So I'll be gone most of the day/night. Have a great day everyone.

Trudy - I see you are still really sick. Hope you are over the worst of it now and get better.

Hi everyone. It's evening here. My DH and I are going to watch a movie. Moonlight. I've never seen it, but heard it's a good movie.

Chris - Kay - Taking of the whole breast was my only option. I'm glad this reconstructive surgery is possible, but I don't think I would have done it when both breasts had to be removed. Flat wasn't a problem for me, but not being equal (not sure if that's the right word), was something I couldn't deal with.
I'm cancer free for a year and a half now, and I intend to stay that way :)

Trudy - hope you will feel better soon!

Hola! I am feeling a bit discombobulated again. Windows did an update and now some of the things I was used to are either gone or have changed. I hate updates. They seem to always wreck things, yannow?

I feel like I got a bunch of projects taken care of yesterday but still, the house looks exactly the same as it did before. I finished my mom's gift, made her a card. Dusted and vacuumed. Did some banking and worked on my food shopping list. That took me all day- how sad is that?

My parents are coming up this morning for the birthday breakfast. That should be nice, then I am going to try to get my menu and coupons all set since I want to go to the store tomorrow.
If I can get that accomplished quickly enough, I would love to get some scrapping done too.
We will see...

What good plans do you have today?

Hi Jean! Hope that your meeting went well. Were you presenting at this one?

Kay- That is horrible that you woke at 3 am. BTDT and yes it stinks! I find it very hard to drink enough water in the winter too. I try to have a cup of herbal or green tea in the afternoons to counteract all of the coffee. I really hope that you don't get more snow and it stays above freezing. By the end of the week, we are going to get very cold too. I have been spoiled so far.
That is fantastic news about your DD and 8 years! I am going on 5 years.:whoo:
yes, that TV show is based on the book. I am hoping for very good news for your SIL- please keep us posted.

Nancy- my lawn is a soggy mess right now. But even though it is muddy and rainy- I am thankful it isn't snow! I am sure you are too. Hope that today is another good day for hockey and I am sure you loved the Outlander episode too.

Trudy-- more soup and tea coming your way~~~~ I am sure that your sisters will have understood if you needed to reschedule. Get better soon!!

Rae- How was your visit with B and the party? I hope that D's back was well enough for him to go with you.

Jeanette- congrats on cancer-free too!! I think being lopsided and unequal would be very strange. How was the movie?

hugs to all of you!

good afternoon - I was up late and actually did some cleaning in my bedroom. Wow I can see the floor again which is nice. LOL. I woke up late after watching Outlander. My son has questions as he has not watched the earlier season so now we are going back and watching season one together. It is fun seeing them from the beginning. Made Blue Apron chicken tostadas last night. OMGosh they were so good and I was so happy as I made refried beans from scratch that were so good. We all agreed this is one of the best. The gave us this Mexican spice blend that I also put on sweet potato and then baked in the oven. They too were snarfed down. Makes me feel so good when this happens. Today is take it easy and watch hockey. My team plays the Vegas Golden Knights in Vegas. Should be a fun game if my team remembers how to play. I now have only 1 goalie that is healthy. The AHL team had to sign two goalies as we took their healthy goalie for our back up. The USA lost to Finland in the gold medal game. The US was losing 2-0 came back to tie it and then game up the game winning goal in the final 90 sec of the third period. It was a great tournament and I know they are all heartbroken since they lost but they will lose a lot more games in the future probably none of this importance but hard to understand that at 17-19 years old.

Chris have fun with the birthday breakfast! hope you can get some scrapping in. How did the play date with the rats go?

Jeannette so glad you are doing so well. Keep it up!

Jean got the final results from the bird count this year and it was way down. Less than 100 species and total numbers down too. But the number of bald eagles is up so that makes me happy! Bet you were a star at the meeting.

Waving to all. Trudy feel better, Rae have a great visit.

Have a great day all!

Late getting in here today. Was working on some digi-scrapping then realized i only had 45 minutes to get dressed and make it to church. Good thing it is only about 7 minutes from the house. It is trying to do something weather-wise... spitting rain/sleet slightly and very overcast sky. Temp is falling from 35 down to around 30 now. Brrr... staying in the rest of the day. The good news is that I managed to drink all but 1 glass of water down yesterday. Guess seeing the jug reminds me to drink it whenever I go into the kitchen.

Trudy, so sorry you are so sick. Stay in bed and take care of yourself. <<< hugs >>>

I got some not so good news about a family member at noon today... so am still struggling with it. If you don't see me for awhile, it is because I will be busy adjusting to the news.
