Happy sunny Saturday from NJ!
It is only 19* right now but it is supposed to get into the 40's. My goal for today is to scoop all of the poop from the lawn.
(Dream big, Faery!)

Yesterday was frustrating. I cleaned a bit, never got around to making the dog cookies. I will do that today. I spent well over an hour on the phone with the Billing Dept and my Dr trying to get this MRI bill figured out. The hospital is saying that I can go on a monthly payment plan but that I am still responsible. My Dr is livid and told me not to pay *anything* and that she is determined to get to the bottom of this. She had already gotten phone calls in to the Corporate Billing Dept when she got the notice that the appeal was denied and the bill is in Appeal at that level. She was gobsmacked when she read that I had to pay my insurance company a fee to do an External Appeal.

She also called over to the Breast Center to ask about switching my screening mammo to diagnostic and they said that if nothing showed on the diagnostic mammo, then I will get billed for that since it wouldn't be medically necessry. So I am going to go for the regular mammo and we will see what happens with billing. She is a total doll and is a true gem. I am so lucky to have her in my corner.

I scrapped a LO using Vicki's Hibernation word art. Thank you again for showing them to me Felis.:) I had taken a photo for Vera's Snow Photo Challenge weeks ago but didn't know what I wanted to do with it. It all came together with the word art.

Not much else happening here aside from taking care of dog poop and baking dog treats. I am sure that I have much more that I should be doing, but denial can be kind of nice too.

Have a wonderful day!!

Nancy- it sounds terrible to me that you are celebrating having the house to yourself. Shame on you! Nah! It is only terrible in that I am 110% jealous! heh!!!
And yes, the energy in the house feels different when you are "alone" vs "not alone but unseen." Gary was puttering around downstairs yesterday and even though I barely saw him, it is not the same as truly being alone.
That really stinks about the Devils, but at least you have a team #2 to follow. Have fun catching up on your shows.

Rae- hope that you get great news from your blood results.Your whole lifestyle is amazing to me. You are a wonder woman!! It will be interesting to see if the Splenda is triggering the headaches. It would not surprise me at all. and no worries on my account- I love hearing your food stories, I am really proud of you.
That is too funny about you telling your DH he can't complain about the grocery stores. My town is so far out of the stereotype of New Jersey that when I tell people how long it takes me to get even just out of my town, they are shocked. One reason I was so aggravated about the wrong water filters is that BJs is a half hour away from me. *grumbles*

Jean- how awesome to get that warm! It was deceptive here yesterday. In the sun it wasn't horrible, but the second that the wind blew or you stepped out of the sun, it was freezing. Cait and I ran over to the vet's to pick up Heather's paw print- when you have a pet cremated they make a paw print in clay for you, man, we have quite the collection. At any rate... I didn't think to warm up the car and I was freezing my butt off on the drive over there.

On a really good note, in spite of not having much anything in town-- my vet is literally 3 minutes away, I could walk there if I really had to. With all of the trips I make there, it is a huge blessing. :)
And that reminds me, I need to make an appt for J for her physical/heartworm test. She is a few weeks overdue but I simply couldn't deal with it earleir this month. She turns three on the 29th (or so. No one knows her exact date of birth but that is what is on her adoption paperwork.). Cait is planning on making "pup-cakes."

I am going to need to do something about the wrinkles and age spots on my face, dak bags under my eyes, and make sure that my grey hair is colored if I am going to let people take pictures of me on my birthday. I always thought that I was going to be one of those ladies who didn't care about stuff like that, but now that I am "that age" I am fighting with it.
I can't wait to see the Barnegat Lighthouse photo. So neat!

Trudy- hope that your nap was refreshing, you are going to need that rest! Have a blast with the kids!

Felis- Hope you are having a great day so far

xoxo

good morning - sunny and bright and should be near 51 today Yea! Poor Luther he was at doggie day care almost 12 hrs. My DH took him there early and then my son and I had a miscommunication and Luther did not get picked up until 6:50pm. I had texted my son to see if he was picking up Luther and he said I should - then we got to texting about dinner and then he said he was leaving on time and so he would get Luther. Well at 6:40 they were not home I called him and he was shocked when I asked. So luckily the day care is only minutes from my house and I made it on time. Once I got Luther I checked the texts and sure enough he did say he was going to get Luther. Well fortunately he reread his texts and when he got home he apologized for the mix up. He was tired. Needless to say I am so glad we got Luther before he had to spend the night. Today is a lazy weekend day. Nothing on the schedule. My DH has to go in to work as it is an open house at his school and he is there to talk to potential biology students.

Chris sounds like a good day with the puppies getting fresh doggie treats. Cleaning up the poop is not my favorite but it does have to be done. My DH is the best at it. I don't understand why the insurance company is being so contrary on this mamography. What a joke. How wonderful that your doctor is so fighting for you.

Felis how nice that you had visitors!

Trudy wow your day sounds exhausting. LOL Bet Stormy is so excited to have two walks. And hamburgers for dinner for the grands you are a great baby sitter! Have fun!

Rae hope the blood work comes out well. You have done an amazing life change and so happy and I never tire of hearing about the changes and the food! I worry that I write too much hockey LOL! Hope the day is good on the island with Bailey!

Jean there is a snowy owl down at Brigantine. A video was posted on facebook and it was awesome. I often wish I lived closer to Brigantine as I would do the loop at least once a day! I will indeed look for the Barnegat Light house page. My sons did not like the heat sun or beach so we rarely went to the beach even just to look at Light houses. Enjoy your warmer weather.

Have a great day all!

:banplease: nothing to share today. I could just copy and paste my posts from previous weekends. We do grocery and the cat house cleaning at same day, so to can have a free day tomorrow.

Chris, that is awful! Here we also pay this procedures, but at least we are warned in advance. How is possible to be charged for something that they don't know did you can or can't pay for?! Did you have this institution Ombudsman, who investigate individuals' complaints against maladministration? I hope you can resolve it! What happened with the telephone company too?! :censored: sounds you are in trouble.
I saw your LO and it's just awesome, I love it! This is gargola, right?!

Nancy, I know woman who is did this with his human child and the teacher bring it home (my mom is friend with the teacher and she was tell it). It could happen to everybody, don't think it too much :) ! It's actually a funny story.

Trudy, I hope the days are still sunny and you have a fun with the kids! They are free from the school and only for you for the weekend or still have some kind of lessons and sports?!

Rae, I hope you have a wonderful day with B! I like to listen to your food summaries. It's interesting subject for me, and always is better when someone share experience not just theory, it's like into the TV shows.

Jean, I couldn't do my weekly page today :( , I want to scrap, but my family had other plans so :), maybe tomorrow. I hope you have a fun weekend! Is this regular visit to the library or you work on new project with these books from the section with permishions?!

Have a lovely weekend you all!

Morning ladies... I had a nice long post just about all done and then I lost it!! :gaah: I hate when that happens! It's my own fault, I am not used to using a apple mouse and always use my touch pad instead. DIL does not have a touch pad so I forget that I have to be careful not to swipe with the mouse or else I lose my post. So that is exactly what I did. Anyway we woke up to a ton of snow this morning, so I am hoping to get the kids out to build a snowman sometime today. DH says that there is no snow where we live and he is still going to attempt to make it here today. I told him that if the roads are too bad then to just turn around and go back home, no need to risk his life! Poor Storm would love to go out for a walk, but I did not bring my winter boots so the kids might have to take him instead. Anyway I have to get these two into the shower and I need my shower also. It might end up being an inside day with playing some board games or something this evening. I will try to do a better job of catching up with all of you tomorrow. We will see how the morning goes! So for now I wish you all a great weekend and I hope that the weather is better for you all then it is for us here! Except for Felis of course I know how much she loves the snow!

We both slept late perhaps because it is so cloudy it doesn't seem like daytime. Yesterday the library trip was just the public library for movies and regular books. I did order another record today from a researcher who has a sale going. The records are at the national archives but not online. I got some from a sale in December but this is a different kind and relates to the article I'm working (slowly) on. Especially with it so gray I'd rather work on the current jigsaw puzzle of birds and things from the rain forest in Costa Rica, bright and colorful!

Chris, grrrr...so stupid with the medical billing, must make you want to bite off their heads. Good for the doc going to bat. What fun you have planned today with cleaning up dog doo. Loved what you did with the snow photo. At least you got some good out of having snow. This is my Barnegat Light page https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=385313&title=magic-things&cat=all I'm still stunned to see that woman with all that dark hair. Now it's thin and gray but I'm not going to do anything with it.

Nancy, bummer with miscommunication, but good that Luther got a pick up in time. Seems like this isn't the first text bobble with you guys. Would be great to go see the Snowy! We loved going to Brigantine.

Felis, guess chores are typical weekend things. Hope you get to play and enjoy tomorrow.

Trudy, rats that you lost the post. You're going to be busy with the kids, dog and snow. Would be nice if DH came, but not if the roads are bad. But he doesn't sound like one to be very intimidated.

Rae, you'll be having a lovely visit I hope.

and a very happy Sunday to you all! It is dark and rainy so when I woke up, I didn't want to get out of bed. So I stayed in and snuggled with W for a while.

To start off the morning with GREAT news-- my neighbor's cat is back home!!! His next-door neighbor saw him on Friday so my friend had his back door propped open with food and eventually just walked in. I am so happy for him. When I go over there to clean, the cats all run and hide from me, but maybe he will let me pet him really quick.

Some really bad news, however. Do you remember me talking about a woman that I cleaned for a while ago- she had breast cancer and MS but made me crack up all of the time? She is a trip and half. She is friends with the other woman that I clean for and who Cait babysits for. Anyway- Cait came home from babysitting with news about her. Her cancer had come back, spread to her lungs and now they are only giving her a few weeks-- yes weeks- left. She has two kids, one is a 14 and the other is 10. She was such an inspiration to me, I always came home from her house feeling a little bit lighter. Cancer really sucks :(

My dad is coming here with bagels on his way home from PA. I am glad that I will get to see him one on one. My mom has been saying that he isn't acting right recently and that makes me concerned. I have to get ready for food shopping tomorrow too.

xoxo!

Nancy- oh no! Thank goodness you were able to get Luther before the day care closed. he would have been so sad.
yesterday I get a bill from the hospital that Caitlyn's health insurance didn't pay for her ER visit in Nov. So we start back at square one with that bill. And the blood lab sent my last draw to the wrong Lab which means I am going to get billed for that too? There is something very very very (x 1000000) wrong in our system.
Hope that you and Luther had a nice relaxing day!

Felis- my weekends are usually the same too. cleaning, laundry, gettting ready for food shopping. Boring!
Yup, that is a gargoyle in my flower garden inthe snow LO. his name is Wolfgang :)

Trudy- fun for the kids to have snow-- not so much if you didn't bring snow boots. did your Gary make it to you safely? I hope that he turned around if it was bad.

jean- i think that is what happened to me, it was so dark and cloudy that it didn't feel like it was time to wake up. Love your Barnegat page! TFS!

Better get going so I am ready for when my dad gets here.

Love and hugs!

good morning - the day is grey and rain is falling. My DH has Luther out on a good walk and I declined. Rain is not my thing. They are back home and he did seems to be happy and not totally wet so that is great! My DH said he loved chasing the ball and then dropping it in the puddles and pawing the ball. So cute! Watching the Federer/Cilic Australian Open final. I know the winner and I am so glad he won. It was a 5 set match. Today is the NHL all star games 3 on 3 tournament. Should be fun. The skills competition was fun to watch. They really are amazing. Not much else going on.

Chris have fun with your dad and bagels. Hope that you do not notice anything wrong! I saw on Facebook that the cat was back home. That is such great news. But I am so sorry about the news on your friend. Cancer is terrible. One of the great things the Anaheim Ducks did for the All Star Game is to take this young girl who has been fighting cancer for many years to the All Star Weekend. Each year at the start of the season the Ducks on their first home game select someone fan who embodies survivorship and perseverance to be their 21st player and is introduced as gets to skate out in her Ducks uniform. Her favorite play scored the GWgoal that night just like she asked him to do. Then as a surprise they took her to the All Star Weekend. She talked to Brian Boyle my NJ Devil who is also battling cancer. She told him she has to go into surgery as she now has thyroid cancer. She says this will be easy. Just like you and your friend the fighting spirit you all show is inspiring.

Trudy I cant believe you forgot your boots. Too bad you cant use your DIL's. I bet Stormy is loving the snow. To be that close and your house not snow and your grands have snow reminds me of how different weather is between Chris and I. Hope your DH made it safely.

Rae just read in the LA Times that for years doctors have touted the Mediterranean diet and while it works for lowering blood pressure it does nothing for weight gain and type 2 diabetes. Your Keto diet or any diet that cuts the carbs can really work at type 2 diabetes - how cool is that. Doctors just don't seem to be noticing and want to stick to the past. You go girl.

Felis have a relaxing day today since you got your chores done yesterday.

Jean today we have the rain and boy I was happy in bed with my kitty and really did not want to wake up. Tomorrow is should be clear and cooler.

Have a great day all.

The clouds are gone, the sun is shining and it's still in the 40s, so all it lovely now. Tonight we'll watch at least some of the Grammys.

Chris, what up and down with the local news. So good the cat returned, but the cancer return is really tough. Love Nancy's story of the hockey program's survivor and agree she is much like you. We really do admire you and your perseverance. But hope the time with your dad is better and you don't see a problem. Aging does cause changes and a spouse can be really aware of little things that may or may not mean anything. Given DH and I are only about two years behind your folks, I know these things.

Nancy, yes the gray, rainy weather is perfect for staying in and letting someone else walk Luther and play in the puddles! Glad you have some hockey to watch and the tennis.

Hope all are having a good day.
