Who slept late this morning? Not me!
The stupid dogs kept pushing me off the side of the bed and my feet were so cold. I gave up by 5.30 and made coffee. Then the little buggers had to go outside. Twice. It is 18*. It is cold. And dark. And yes, I am whining inside of my head. :p
I didn't do much of anything yesterday. I didn't crochet, I didn't scrap. The news kept me occupied for a while, especially when it started to say how local airports were having some serious delays/groundings due to the govt shutdown. I was relieved that Scott wasn't flying home yesterday since he would have been caught in that mess.

I am also glad that I didn't steam clean the day before because when Scott came home from school, he tracked mud all over the LR and kitchen. Boys!

At least I have nowhere I need to be today. Our big plan is to FINISH THE PUZZLE! Darn it!! We are so close. But why are there so many pieces that don't fit anywhere? :gaah:

My life is truly so boring- even my "exciting things" are pretty basic.
And yes, I am fortunate about that.

Off to drink yet another cup of coffee. xoxo

Trudy- did the fog ever clear up by you? Hope you enjoyed your day of nothingness especially since I know that you will be running errands with your Gary today.
You will do fine at the pool as long as you take it nice and easy when you start.

Kay- the Mini-Os are amazing this month. I need to put my LO in the gallery and leave some love on the other LOs too.
I am glad to hear that your bereavement group helps you so much. When I met my BFF for coffee the other day, we were discussing how her mom really needs to go to one. (Long story short- her mom has always been very self-absorbed. Her dad passed away 1 1/2 years ago. She lives in a retirement community but she prefers to moan about how lonely she is rather than to do anything constructive about it).
It has to be reassuring to talk with others who understand exactly what you are going through.
That stinks that you weren't able to find the right fabric that you needed. I am sure that the caps will look awesome anyway.

Rae- how nice of your friend to bring the dues down to WA for you. I agree, sitting in the car wouldn't be good for D- especially if he is (hopefully!?) feeling a tiny bit better by now. I hope that you have a great visit with B.

xoxoxo!!!!

agree mini o are amazing. working on one now but will have to be put on hold as I have appt to see a new potential dog. first one seen since Dory - a 6 yr old yellow lab mix. apparently she came from a loving home but owner committed suicide and she was traumatized by it and when found was placed into shelter system.

I have been up for quite awhile... but busy playing with the MiniOs. :) Love them all this month!

Stacey, hope the new dog will work out for you. Such a tragedy for the poor dog.

Chris, hope you finish that <<< blank, blank, blank >>> puzzle today. I know it is bugging you and the family. Glad you didn't clean the rugs yet... yeah - boys [and some men] don't notice mud on the feet when they come inside.

Need to get dressed so I can run to the grocery store. Need some more fresh fruit and veggies. I dug out a big batch of turkey dumplings stew from the freezer last night. That sounds so nice and warm... great for cold winters' dinner. I even have some cornbread to have with it. A fresh fruit salad would be perfect as a side.

It's raining and cold for south Florida- a very damp to the bone kinda day. I have not logged in on the computer all week so I'm catching up on emails, looking in the gallery and downloading all these beautiful mini o goodies.
Plan on scrapping while the washer is cleaning my clothes.

Good late morning ladies... My usual Saturday of running errands with my Gary and now we need to find a new watercooler :mmph: Ours gave up the ghost, boy they sure don't last too long. Oh well it is what it is. DH says they have two at work and they don't last too long either, they always seem to be replacing them. We mostly use it for the wine we make, but I use it everyday to keep my water bottle filled with nice cool water. I usually need to fill my bottle 4-5 times a day. Had so much fun making a page with the MiniO's yesterday and hope to do at least one more!

Chris - Sure hope you get to finish off that darn puzzle today! I have one piece that is driving me nuts, I can't seem to find the one that fits and discovered that perhaps a few pieces were not in the right place :gaah: Oh well I will figure it out I guess! Hope that you have a wonderful Saturday! Oh and yes the fog did clear, but not until almost noon! Then a lovely sunny day.

Stacey - What a sad story about that dog! Hope that you will be a good fit for this one!

Kay - Turkey and dumplings sound like the perfect meal for a cold wintery day!

Lorraine - I totally know that feeling of damp cold to bone feeling!! Hope you get to scrap while the :washing: is going on!

Ok DH is ready to hit the road and get on with the shopping etc. Will hopefully spend some time here later today! Have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon, ladies....just popping in to say hi quickly. Spent a leisurely morning hanging out with D and reading a paleo mag and then a few pages of my book. D was rebuilding the android box and wanted my input as to the design....not that I really care LOL...but I make a few choices so he felt I was involved too. We found the dog channel on our iptv and Taz was entranced by it. He watched the dogs walking around and then they went swimming. He got as close to the tv as he could and was sniffing like crazy, trying to get the scent of the dogs LOL. So funny to watch. Then he got a bit excited when they went running thru a creek and tried to smell the fish. So now when we go out we'll put his channel on for him. They say it is relaxing and good company for the dogs, making them feel like they are in a pack.

We're heading up to see B in a few minutes after I take Taz out for a walk. Then later tonight I am going to make almond crackers. I've been thinking of doing this for wks now and I've decided, I am going to do it today when we get back from the hospital. Then tonight I can snack on some crackers and goats cheese...yum. We'll watch a few movies, maybe some of the oscar nominations.

Early tomorrow morning I'm heading out for a photo walk with a local meetup group. I'll be heading out around 6 am and should be home about 4 hrs later. Should be fun, haven't been out on one for awhile. We're going to Granville Island to take photos of the architecture before it starts to get busy with visitors.

Chris - tracking mud in....yes, I can relate...D will come in with muddy shoes from work and walk thru the house. Luckily, most of it gets onto the hardwood so not hard to clean up. He does the rug shampooing so I guess if he makes the mess its ok b/c he cleans it.

Stacey - good luck, hope this dog works out!

Trudy - good luck shopping. Yes, the mini-O's are amazing. I actually managed to get a page done....yay for me.

Gotta go...no more time to chat or I won't get Taz out for his walk. Hope you all have a great day.

I'm in bed, it's rather late here. We went out to dinner tonight, to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. It was fun, but also difficult. My relationship with my mom is complecated, and my oldest having severe depression issues and a food disorder, made things even more complecated.
But is was great seeing my nices and nephew. Both my nices have girlfriends, and my nephew also has a girlfiend. I so enjoy these young people, with there enthousiamic, their world view, their believes! I had a wonderful evening!

WE DID IT! Finally, we finished the puzzle! In case anyone was wondering, W ate 12 pieces. Yup, 12. Thankfully, there were all single pieces, if there were 2 side-by-sides ones, it would have made it even harder. We get to eat at the table tonight. LOL

I also finished the cowl. I only needed to crochet 2 more rows. The pattern uses a triple crochet so the rows are nice and long. Then I sewed up the seams and done. I will have to take a picture of it later on. I really love the colors of the yarn.

In between those two projects, I feel like I didn't do much of anything other than taking the dogs outside a lot and I played with the rats. Caitlyn taught them to step on a see-saw to get a treat. The three of them wouldn't stop jumping on it even after she put the treats away. They were like little kids hopped on on chocolate zooming around.

Did a tell you about how Caitlyn's old friend texted her last week, that someone had told her that Cait was dead? It turned out to be a "Katelynn Campbell." There was an article about it in our local weekly paper that came out yesterday. The accident happened on the road we drive to get to my mom's. Even though it wasn't *my* Cait, it still was a bit freaky to see the name and area in print. Is that strange of me?

Today, I am buckling down and getting ready for the week ahead. I really need to find a podiatrist. The ganglion cyst on my ankle is getting bigger and its starting to get uncomfortable so I am adding that to my to-do list.

Hugs to all of you!

Stacey- oh my, how sad for that poor dog. I hope that the appt went well

Kay- your dinner sounds perfect for a cold night.

Lorraine- don't talk to me about the cold- we are going to be down to single digits again this week :fear: JK-- I know that it is all relative to what your body is used too- hope it warms up soon.

Trudy- that stinks about the water cooler breaking. We are lucky in the sense that we have well water. It is nice and clean tasting, not like municipal water that is treated.
Were you able to find the right pieces to your puzzle? I was getting nervous that we had pieces in the wrong spots too but thankfully, we didn't. The ones that we had mismatched were found quickly.

Rae LOL What do you mean you don't really care about the android box? Sweet of him to want your input.
OMG, that is adorable about Taz and the dog channel especially him trying to smell the fish. I wonder if we have a channel like that? J would probably try to jump into the screen to bark at them.
Hope that you have a wonderful photo walk today

Jeanette - happy birthday to your mom. I am sorry that the evening was complicated.
Sounds like your nieces and nephew are awesome kids!

Hi girls,
a quick post to say hello, before another busy workweek to start! :ranger:

I was hoping that Nancy will give some updates at the weekend. Her last post sounds encouraging, so I hope everything go well for you, dear!

Jean, I share your period of lack inspiration too. Hope the Puzzles help you to get some fun, because I really can't stay concentrated on any of my hobbies. And yes this weather definitely urges to hibernation mode.

Jeanette, oh, dear, isn't this relationship always difficult after the teenage years. I saw this sentence in Instagram and really like it, think it's true: "I've Never Met A Strong Person With An Easy Past." Good that you was able to find some fun too! Happy belated birthday to your mom and best wishes!

Rae, first time I hear about a dog channel. So crazy! Sounds fun, something like that was at "The Art of Racing in the Rain", when they let their dog to watch TV at the day. I thought this is fiction, because my pets react to sounds, but don't looks like they recognize the moving screen as something catching their attention. Hope you had nice weather for your photo walk !

Trudy, ouch, it's always something for replacement, isn't it?! Hope you'll be able to find good one on deal! Your hike page is so beautiful! Did your SIL liked the painting?! I bet she is, it was lovely chinese style!

Lorraine, the new goodies always gives fresh inspiration, so have fun!

Kay, hope you found yarn that to match! I order online, because at some reason local shop have mostly acrylic yarn. Some good craft shops closed past few years, looks like more are moved online. Hope you are done with this confusing legal paper things! How's going Roni Loren's series? I'm afraid they aren't translated here. Are they romantic? At least the cover looks like that. I'm not much into that right now, especially with upcoming stupid Valentine's day.

Chris, congrats for the puzzle! I'll wait to see the cowl picture! Take care for your health!
Ouch, the name matching at this bad news post is freaking scary! Peace to the soul of this poor girl!
What happens with Timber and his tube-fed, (oh it even sounds awful difficult and kind of cruel)?

As far as me, NOTHING interesting here. I made a layout at the beginning of this month which to motivate me to be more active this year, but it's not start to work yet  . It's a long series of wasteful days in melancholy.
During the week I was considering few posts: about how awful and scary is this world, based on all these crap I've been hearing at the crime news; or other about that how feminists screwed up the world for the good old fashioned housewives, based on a rumor for another celebrity divorce, and if one actress and model, with her beauty and charm, is so easy replaceable (after only 3 years marriage and with kid), then what about all other boring ugly wives. I had only blue thoughts, philosophizing debates away from my daily life.

So my question is when you feels blue, do you listen music which to reinforces this feelings or try to distract your mind with something opposite?!
