Today is the Saturday after a Friday that felt like a Sunday :D
Do you think that time is going to have any more meaning in 2021 than it did in 2020? I wish I knew. :/

Yesterday was a quiet and dull day. The kids slept until noon and then Caitlyn wasn't feeling so hot-- too many mixed drinks, I think. I asked her what she drank and she basically was throwing sweet liqueurs into a glass. At least Scott is feeling better, his throat is back to normal, but today Gary isn't feeling good- he cheated and ate cookies that had nuts in them and now his stomach is hurting. Needless to say, our family game night didn't happen so I don't have any ridiculous stories to share.

I have no idea what I am up to today. Gary was hoping to get Caitlyn's room emptied and start ripping up the carpet bit since he isn't feeling well, not sure how much anyone is going to get done. I want to talk to Scott a bit more about the Environmental Stewardship Program being offered by Rutgers in January. Rutgers has one of the best Enviro/Ag programs on the East Coast. I think he is beyond what the program offers but it is $200- scholarships are "available" whatever that means- but it is a 6- (8?)week course on local environmental issues and might be a good resource for meeting other like-minded people and give him some networking opportunities. I offered to pay for it. I got money from my ILs for Christmas and I have nothing to buy for myself. He is going to look into it but I don't want him to let it slide since there are limited openings. It is all remote with the possibility of field trips in the spring. Then he can tell me all about what he learns.
Talk about living vicariously through your children

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!!

Kay- I hope that last night's sleep was better than the one before. Or at least, that you slept later than 4 am. I saw your double page LO- the yellows jump out at ya!! Sorry that you still can't use your middle finger. You wouldn't be able to drive in New Jersey without it! :yell:
Honestly- with the number of people who have diabetes in the US, you would think that they would have better protocols for patients while in the hospital- SMH. A lot of times when Gary was sick/injured/surgery for different reasons, I felt that I had a much better grasp of his insulin req's than the medical professionals. I still laugh at the time his sugar dropped very low and he wouldn't come out of unconsciousness. I called 911, then turned his pump off, hooked him up to a bag of Dex5 (he had a PICC line for Lyme abx and we had bags of dextrose since this kept happening with his sugar). The EMTs said that they had never come to a call where the patient was already hooked up to Dex5 before. LOL

Nancy- so good to see you!! I am happy that you have a "resolution" of being positive, that is such a good idea. Having hockey back -- will that make it easier harder? Guess it depends on how well the Devils play :p
I know how happy it must make you when your kids are happy, has your DS figured out when he will propose yet?
What shows are you binging? We started Big Sky on Hulu and we are almost all caught up and then it will be every Tuesday. I am not used to waiting for episodes anymore either.
I haven't heard of anything in NJ for vax either. My dad can't wait to get his. I told my mom that as soon as we are both vaccinated, we are driving down the shore! We don't even have to get out of the car but we need to see the ocean :D

Trudy- it has been such a hard year, she really misses her friends. The kids were supposed to be at my parents' lake house this week- and this is when the friend was supposed to propose up there. It must have been on my mind too since I dreamed of them getting engaged the other night even though they got engaged 2 weeks ago. I will give her a hug from you too!
Did all of your kids/grands have a nice NY? OMG-- I am frustrated for you about not getting the prime rib cooked again. But I do not blame you for wanting it to be perfect!.

Felis- you have such a caring soul for animals. I am soooo happy that your kitty is responding to the meds. Give her a belly run from me.
Your NYE sounds like it was disappointing but hopefully not a sign about the year ahead. My kids had the best NYE last year and look how that turned out haha!!
You are so sweet about Cait- I think she is pretty darn special but it is always nice to hear it from other people.

Cheryl- is the weather any better for you today? I know that you have ATVs for your property, you don't have to go on any real roads to get from one house to the other, or do you? Be safe when you are out and about and stay warm :)

Rae- very smart of you to change up your kitchen routine. I know that you will feel sad for a while but you are so lucky to have D, J, and Taz with you. I am sending more hugs to you all. How is B feeling? And is Taz eating yet? He must be missing his "treat buddy." :(

Good morning all.
I have been taking a break getting my act together and cutting down on designer CT work so that I have time for other pursuits.
We had a quiet Christmas and New Year but did manage to visit with my daughter all be it through the patio door but it was so good to be able to sit and chat face to face in real time. Christmas brought a cribbage board and a 'How to Play Cribbage" book. I will have to practice adding up to 15 and 31! ha ha. It also brought PSE2021 yay! I want to start upping my skill set and not rely on the ones I already know.

We are expecting a couple of coastal rain storms for the next week or so. It gets pretty dull and grey around here during the winter so going outside is hampered by weather and lockdown restrictions. I try to nip out when the wet isn't coming down quite so hard just to get fresh air and a bit of a walk. That's the thing about having a dog, you are outside periodically whether you want to be or not.

Our decorations are still up much to my dismay but hubby insisted that they stay up until Monday. It is a huge job and outside and inside will take all day each.

I wish you all well for the new year. I am positive we will be back to relative normal here by the time the warmer weather arrives a few months from now.

Hello ladies,
my sister text us that she is safety fly back to Germany this morning. I'm so happy she is back to her life! It was kind to come and spend the holidays with our parents, but they acted so unfestive which irritated me!
She gives me one necklace pendant (it's childish but I like it a lot, it's for daily wearing) which is cactus in pot, to reminds me that even when stings life is beautiful, and we have to learn to cultivate our pain and transform it in sustainability!
Today was just lazy sunny day. Nothing interesting.

Chris, Hope Scott to join in this course or to find something else that makes him engaged during this situation is set back and he can get the job that fits him, not just any job! I saw Leah will start create toys, she is so creative and inventive! Maybe she can helps you to convince him! Sorry to hear that Gary isn't feeling good!

Kythe, hope the storms to not be too bad! ITA with you, some mornings I'm so sleepy that I would probably skip the half of the day it wasn't necessary to take the dog out! I'm actually grateful that don't have excuse to postpone this light form of exercise! I'm considering do I have to upgrade my editing program, have some problems that I hope they are resolved into the new version, but I'm so comfortable with it so I'm not sure did it worth it the headaches that updates usually brings. As they says: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Good morning ladies. Yesterday we took the Xmas stuff down. I've got a busy day ahead. Jen spent all her time looking for puppies and found one in Kamloops (a 4 hr drive) and spent all yesterday talking back and forth with the breeder. So today her and I will pick up puppy supplies, drive up there, go out for dinner and spend the night in a hotel. We'll pick up puppy on Sunday and bring her home. She is an 8 wk old mini aussiedoodle. She is the runt of the litter (as was Taz) so her expected weight should be close to Taz's weight. We all miss Noel so much but I know a new pup will bring us all a lot of joy and keep us busy. Taz will be thrilled to have another dog in our family pack. We are bringing him with us so he can smell the pup and we will stop along the way for pee breaks with them so they can get used to each others smell. Pup will travel in a crate in the front seat with Jen and Taz and I will be in the back. I will take lots of phone pics of her.

Because of my back, we'll have to make some stops along the way so I can get out and walk and stretch but will bring my heating pad to lie down with. It'll be a long trip but I think I will be ok.

So on Monday I should have a pic to share of the little girl (no name picked out yet).

Gotta get stuff done, so BFN.

Well, the day got away from me and it late afternoon now!!! Been busy since I got on the computer this morning. Yes, I did sleep much better last night and didn't wake up until 7:30 AM.... whooo..whooo. Think the cold is really done finally. That could be why I am sleeping like normal.

So much to do with the start of new month... getting a bunch of CT work done so haven't had time to do much else. For some reason it feels like there is even more to do this month.

Karen, so sorry about your fur baby... Sometimes we have to take a step back from commitments and take a breather for a bit. But glad to see you are getting back to being around here. You have been missed.

Back later... call coming in.

good evening - yesterday was a crack up of a day. I was taking Luther for a walk and I walked past this young man who was working outside and it was starting to really rain. I said bummer of a day to be outside and he turned and said "you want to make some money". I laughed. Told him in my 68 years no one has ever said that to me. He was embarrassed but I told him not to be that it just cracked me up. He complimented me on Luther and we finished our walk. It just really made me smile. Not much else going on. It rained all night but did clear up today.

Chris glad that Scott is doing better but sorry to hear that now Gary is not feeling well. But I am hearing on the news that flu and colds have really dropped. Hope everyone feels better soon and you can have your game night.

Kay so glad you got more sleep. It sure makes the day better. Sorry the finger is still hurting. But must be good to get back to scrapping.

Trudy saw your January page and it is awesome. What a great way to start the new year. And yes I am so enjoying all the hockey. The Devils are training and it is really a new team with again a new coach so I am not sure what to expect. Boston is now in our division. Is you main guy sorry that Chara is now with the Capitals. I had been hoping my Devils would not see him but he is still in the same division just new team.

Felis that is great that you had your sister visit and glad she made it back safely. Yes the fireworks and my Luther don't get along. And yes having dogs mean you have to get outside but since I love to walk not a problem. Glad you kitty is doing better.

Rae I am so sure that changing the routine will help but the new puppy sounds so fun. I cant wait to see the photos. My niece just got a new puppy and she says it is just like a new baby - up every 3-4 hours. So good luck with that. I think the rests and stretches will so help the back. I have to say that my heated car seats really help on long drives and in cold weather. Have fun!

Kathe have fun with the new PSE. Always fun to learn something new. Hope the weather is better!

Have a great day all!

hehe, I was going to say that I am running a bit behind schedule, I usually try to be at the O around 7.30 and it is 8. Schedule. What schedule??

Some good news about Caitlyn's room, it is all emptied out (bad news-- it's scattered all over the house), Gary and Scott pulled up the carpet and today they are going to start with the actual flooring. We have no idea how long it will take to finish and I absolutely don't want him rushing while using the saw. You remember what I have said in the past about Campbell men, saws, and fingers- not a good combination.*knocks wood, crosses fingers, says prayers for safety*

As for me, when I am not hiding from the sounds of the saw, I am going to be working on food shopping and maybe some time with the puzzle with Caitlyn. FIL got us a puzzle of 4 cute little rats wearing scarves. We finished most of the easy pieces, now we are on to the mostly solid back ones- 40-45% of the 1000 piece puzzle. hoo boy.

Have a wonderful day!

Kythe- so nice to see you pop in!!! We were able so to visit with the family on Christmas in driveways and while it was not even close to being the same, it sure felt good- so happy that you were able to visit with your DD. What exactly is cribbage? I always thought it was a card game but if there is a board, I am obviously quite wrong. Congrats on getting PSE 2021! Hope that you can stay dry while you are put with Joey. We are supposed to be getting more snow and ice today/tonight. I am a wimp and won't take the dogs for a walk when it is colder than 50*. I am with you, trying to stay positive that by summer, things will be better here too!

Felis- it must have been sad to see your sister leave but maybe your house will get more back to normal soon. The necklace sounds very appropriate- it is a message that I should learn as well. Scott always tells us about how cacti live so long and are so resilient in really inhospitable conditions. That is a very good reminder to see on yourself every day. Leah showed me one of the stuffed animals the other day and it has cute zigzag stitching on the back and three or four eyes. Kind of Frankenstein
monster-ish but adorable at the same time.

Rae- congrats on the new baby girl! I cannot *wait* until you share photos. Have a safe trip and tell Taz that he is still going to be king of the house- the little one can be the princess LOL
Good luck with naming her- Jaida was Lil Pup for the longest time and Whisky came with the name Whiskey, which we hated but couldn't think of anything else that suited her. We dropped the E to give it the Scottish spelling since she is a Campbell and all that LOL
So excited!!

Kay- that is great news that you are feeling and sleeping better. May it continue!!

Nancy- haha, what a kooky story on your walk! Bet he would have been happy for some help so he could get inside and warm and dry. No game night for a while, the DR is filled with Cait's furniture and there is nowhere to sit. I did get everyone MadLibs books-- Cait got a vampire one, Scott is pirate themed and Gary's is Staw Wars- we could do those sitting on the sofa ;)

hugs to all of you!

Chris... I was ROFLOL over your question about cribbage! ! ! ! Yes it is a card game but you use a board to score. DH and I spent many hours playing it. That and Acey-Deucey [played on a backgammon board] were two of our favorite games for 2. Both were very popular with Navy guys when they were at sea.

Hope your guys are careful with the saw!!! Sounds like they are moving right along on getting the floor done ASAP. Wow, that puzzle sounds tough when it has a lot of black in it. Good luck and hope you don't go blind working on it.

Nancy, had a laugh about the guy and your walk with Luther. Hope you didn't get too wet in the rain.

Rae, wishing good weather for the trip. How sweet that you are getting a new puppy. Do take breaks to help with the stress on the back while traveling. Cant' wait to see photos of the pup with Taz.

Trudy, hope you got the prime rib dinner finally. Yummy!!

Wanted to get personals done before I had to quit... Need to take a shower and get dressed soon. Then back to more scrapping. Hope you all have a good week

good morning - It is snowing! I thought we were in the rain section but got about a half an inch of snow. Well yesterday was totally fun. My youngest son's Main Girl son had a family birthday party and we were invited. We felt comfortable only because they have had to be very careful because of her older parents. It was so nice because we only had to show up and enjoy the excitement. And OMgosh I still think all that energy of kids is often wasted on them. One of the cousins is this young girl (going on two) who for some reason I have yet to understand seemed to find me (even though we had never met) safe and played with me all the time. She would bring me toys and we would play. My son's kids are very shy but not this little girl. It was so fun to see all the differing and emerging personalities. I came home and watched World Junior hockey quarterfinals. US defeated Slovakia to go to the semis against Finland which defeated the US last year. Should be good. Slovakia's goalie was really good but the US stayed patient and finally won. The other semi will feature Canada and Russia a rematch of last year's gold medal game. Both should be exciting. And my Devils are scrimmaging today and that makes me happy! Only 10 days until the season starts and 11 days until the Devils play.

Chris I am sure that even with Cait's things scattered through out you all can figure out how to play games and make each other laugh. You are lucky to have two men who are will doing to this remodel. Good luck to them with the saws! No accidents allowed!

Kay you were up early! Yes it was a funny encounter on the walk.

Trudy I too like Kay home you finally got your prime rib. It is my youngest favorite! I bet it was perfect.

Have a great day all!
