Hello and happy Friday!

First off-- I am sending big hugs to everyone on the passing of Queen Elizabeth. What a fascinating life.

How was everyone's day yesterday? I had a nice visit with my parents. My mom and I went over everything she is packing. (for the zillionth time, and she had to show me the block of cheese and the two boxes of crackers, and the napkins, and ... LOL) We discussed some indoor things to do and she is actually open to going to the aquarium. It's a small one on the Pt Pleasant Boardwalk but unless we want to hit the casinos or maritime museums, our options are limited. There was a 50s Do-Wop museum I know she would have *loved* but that was all the way down in Wildwood, probably another hour and a half past where we will be.
My dad's hip is still bothering him but the Dr says it is just muscular. I reminded him that it takes longer to heal with you are 83.

I am cleaning for my friend this morning and my bet is that she forgot that I will be there. I should have been there last week and next week but she canceled last week and I rescheduled next week. Not a prob, I can get in, do my work and leave a note for her- just in case she doesn't notice I cleaned. Bwuahahaha!!

Wishing eveyrone a wonderful day!

@LSlycord I saw you and Syd on FB and my goodness, that girl's smile lights a room, doesn't it? I can't tell you how happy I am that you spent the day with her, it had to boost your mood so very much. :D

*small soapbox moment* I am sort of shocked that the rescue lady asked you to go with Decker. I mean, I am *sure* she had good intentions for him, but how could your heart take that? I am so proud of you for telling her no. I know you must have wrestled with yourself but it was the right decision.
I am so sorry that it had to happen and I know he touched your family. xo

@BrightEyes how wonderful to have three of your kids under your roof~ I imagine your heart was full.
That is a great hack to make the enchiladas like lasagne! I am going to have to see if I can find a recipe for green sauce. Thanks!!

@taxed4ever I knew you would survive the house hunting, I wasn't sure if your eyes (rolling them) or tongue (biting it) would though. Great to hear you are in 1 piece LOL
SMH at the electric car part!!
How are the boys doing with school? No problems with Hunter getting teary this year?

@bcgal00 I am sure you have heard of Spoon Theory for chronic illness? It was a big help for me to conceptualize my limitations when I was sick. Keep reminding yourself that if you take good care now and rest, soon you will be able to add more spoons to your supply. I hope that you have been able to get in touch with the Dr- the last thing you need to do is wait all day in the ER
So glad that your back has been ok!

@Cherylndesigns you have been running around like a crazy last, no wonder you are exhausted!
The porch signs really sound amazing, I bet you that Ava could make one for you ;)

@pachimac good luck with the diamonds!!

@vickyday staring at the monitor and scanner has to be rough on the eyes, hope the headache is gone today

@Betty Jo What were you thinking?? :D Hope that you are not feeling worn out today after cleaning the deck yesterday
keep feeling good!

Dogs need to go out, gotta go

Good morning ladies. Not a lot on the plate today. It really does sound like Ground Hog Day! Yesterday was a great day. I was quite sad about Decker (thanks all for your kind words). It would have been my dad's 93rd birthday...he has been gone 5 years and I miss him like crazy. The Queen's death saddened me. Goodness knows she had paid her dues in this world but she was a lady with so much class and strength and dignity. One of the few people in the news that you could count on. Where are those people now?

However...I got to spend the day with my girl so it was quite lovely! Brian and I made the 90 minute drive but we got there early and she was doing laundry so we did a bit of exploring around Gainesville. One of the Florida Highwaymen (whom I had never heard about until we had that challenge a couple of months ago) painted a mural in August. It is beautiful and I'm going to scrap my photos today. We walked for a few blocks just to get a feel for Gainesville, other than the campus.

Then we went and picked Syd up from her dorm. I had asked her where she wanted to go to lunch and she had no idea. So I suggested Olive Garden since it used to be a favorite. She said no, Longhorn Steakhouse. So that's where we went. Great conversation...she is in an intro AgriBio Engineering class and they have been discussing potential careers. She told me that she is interested in space farming...what??? Still very early but I think that her career may be a lot more interesting than mine. LOL
I suggested we split strawberry shortcake and she asked how I knew that she was thinking that. I reminded her that I'm her mom...I just know things. She linked her arm through mine as we walked along...and gave me a huge hug before I left. So I'm filled up for awhile.

@faerywings I agree...I was a bit shocked that I was asked to take Decker. Fortunately, she asked by text so I had a few minutes to think about my response because, of course, I felt guilty. But I decided I had to do what was best for me! And that wasn't going to be to take Decker to be euthanized.

Well, I'm still alive after my cleaning frenzy yesterday. A bit sore, since I hadn't done much of anything physical for a while. If my strength holds up, I plan to continue cleaning today. And, create another layout.

@faerywings Your parents must be thrilled with the time you're spending with them. I'd give anything to have quality time with my kids. Their lives are sooooo busy, with multiple jobs each, kids, etc. One of my sons lives in my town, but we hardly get to see each other. Thank God for the ability to text!

I laughed out loud reading your note to me, 'What were you thinking?' All I was thinking was, I've got to get some cleaning done!

@LSlycord So sorry for the loss of your Dad. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time with Syd. I'm sure that helped as you've had some sad days lately.

Good Morning ladies! Another lovely sunny day here, but oh my it is so dry!! Well the house hunting saga continues. SIL Linda is going to be taking a second look at the place that she had in mind in the complex below where we live. She wants her brother (my Gary) to come with her so he can give his opinion on it. So even if the In-Laws decide not to move she is still wanting to. FIL has some concerns over the strata rules (surprise, surprise  ). Although it sounds like they are very interested in it, so they will be taking a second look also, not sure when though. My guess is that they will procrastinate so long and then it will get sold out from under their feet. Oh well I am not saying a word to them, its their choice after all. I spent a lot of time on the phone with them yesterday, talking about how a strata works etc, but I don't think FIL quite gets it. So I told him to contact the real estate woman that they are dealing and she should be able to find out all he needs to know. Then we talked about the Queen's passing and they had no idea that she had died. They were so involved with the strata drama, they didn't even have the news on. LOL. So I never did get any scrapping done. Will try again today, before the hustle and bustle of the weekend rolls around tomorrow.

@faerywings - Nice to hear that you had a good visit with your Mom and Dad! Your Mom must be getting very excited for your trip for her to have started packing already! So great that she is open to going to the Aquarium with you, although I am keeping my fingers crossed that the sun will be shining and you will be on the beach instead! Either way I know you will have a great time together! Lucky You!! Hope your cleaning day goes well and I am sure she will notice her sparkling clean house!! Oh Heather's boys are both so happy to back at school, no tears, just happy smiles so far!

@LSlycord - What a nice day you spent with your daughter!! I can just see you arm and arm together! Love it!! How was the strawberry shortcake?? Yummy I bet!

@Betty Jo - I am like you and would give anything to have quality time with my kids too! Mine live to darn far away, but I do talk them on a regular basis. Thank goodness for FaceTime and texting! Not the same but at least we can see each other and catch up on things! Take it easy on all the cleaning, you don't want to get too sore and stiff! Hope that the purging is going well!

@bcgal00 - You must be feeling a bit better? I saw that you had been doing a bit of scrapping, how wonderful! Hope that the stamina continues to improve!

Off to the shower and then get on with my day. Oh I started a Junk Journal yesterday for Isaac (grandson #1). It has a dragon theme, so should be right up his alley! Need to make a video of the inside of my last Junk Journal today too. Have a lovely Friday everyone! #kiss3

Another quick in and out. We were up early (6AM) to spend the time with DSon#1 and his wife before they left to continue their journey this morning. Yes, DD#3 made it down last evening to visit with them and us. It was almost like old times having them together! Did a lot of talking and sharing memories. Really did my heart good to have them here. Looks like DD#1 will be heading home tomorrow. Then the house will be empty again except for me. I am treasuring the memories of this time with them. I did remember to take a few photos so need to get them loaded into the computer next week. It is a PITA that the SD slot on DH's computer doesn't work so have to use my old computer with the new ExHD plugged in then move the HD back to DH's computer.

Today we have clouds from Hurricane Kay (in the Baja Gulf)... and may get some rain tomorrow afternoon. Phoenix should be getting the rain from it today... so DD is going to wait a day and hope by then most of the rain will have moved on so she doesn't have to drive in it on the way home.

Hope everyone has a good weekend. CYL

Good morning ladies. I actually got out of the house yesterday. Jen drove me to the pharmacy and we went to the dog park for a bit. It felt good to get outdoors, the dogs had so much fun. I came home for a nap and then was able to get up and make a simple dinner. So...baby steps...but definitely on the mend. Chris' mention of the "spoons" is a great way to define energy levels, losing spoons as the energy depletes and daily functions require certain amounts of "spoons" that are taken away from your daily allowance. I'm functioning on very few "spoons" by afternoon.

Today I will get out to the dog park again for 20 min. Luckily, the drive is about 5 min and the parking lot is just a few steps from the entrance gate, so I don't need to walk much.

Jen is going to talk with the kennel owner today and if the conversation goes well she will start next week with a few shifts. She wants to commit to a 3 mth term to give the owner and herself a chance to see if this will work out. I will watch Bella so she can get comfortable with the job and then probably by the the next week or so, Bella will get to go to work with her.

I scrapped a bit yesterday and it felt so good. I will try some more this morning. I'm doing everything slowly and carefully b/c the brain fog is still bad. I can't remember how to do the most basic things that should be muscle memory for me and I have to sit quietly, let my body relax, them the fog clears and I can remember (usually). Some things just go out of my head and don't come back...ugh. I hear that that should improve with time, along with the fatigue.

@faerywings It's nice that your mom is already packing, looking forward to your trip together.

@taxed4ever You are so patient with your in-laws. I hope they realize what a blessing you are.

I'm going to get another coffee and get a few things done. I can feel my energy depleting so its almost time for a rest...ugh. Good thing I don't have a job to go to.

Good morning, all.

I'm still tired today, but not exhausted! I decided to get outdoors yesterday and take a walk. It's not easy walking, as you all know. There are so many rocks in the road from all the working trucks that are constantly up at Adrienne's. It was rockier than it even used to be. I walked up to Adrienne's, visited with her and Roger for a big then Adrienne decided to take a work break. We walked all the way to Ava's. She's exhausted too and we said we both felt like a couple of slugs. LOL But we made it.

I was up very late last night - two of my other CT's posted designs that they wanted posted asap, so I turned on the steam and got 2 layouts done. Alyssa had been here for a couple of hours, then Chuck wanted to watch an hour of Poldark, so I got a late start. That's okay - I may or may not have dozed off all during Poldark. BWAHAHA Little nappy that gave me my second wind.

Braden sent me a fabulous photograph of the moon from 9/7 and I got to use it on one of my layouts last night. It's on FB, for anybody who didn't see it. He took one last night, but the moon is getting almost full and he wasn't happy with the picture. He has a huge telescope with a camera on it. The pictures are just fantastic! He got photoshop elements and taught himself how to use it. He's something else.

Chris, I'm so happy that you got to spend time with your mom and dad. Your mom cracks me up with her planning. LOL I'm sure it gets old to you, but it is quite funny, when you think about it. Me thinks she is very excited about your upcoming getaway. I'm sure your bff will know you were there. I can always tell Casey was here by how good my house smells. She has her own concoction for our wood floors - they look gorgeous when she mops them and smell SO good. You're right, Ava could make e one of those signs. We've been saying we're going to go down to the barn and find some big wood planks. Oh well, for 20 bucks I couldn't pass it up.

Linda, @LSlycord I'm SO sorry about Decker. How much nerve does it take for that woman to ask you to take him????? I'm appalled and so proud of you for saying no! I can't even believe that she asked you to do that!!! Okay, I'm done. I'm sending you lots of hugs and again, you did SO much for that dog!! You can't have any guilt! I hope you don't - I truly do. You went over and above.

Your day with Syd sounds wonderful! I'll go to FB and look at your pictures. Your girl must be SO extremely intelligent - space farming????? I got such a kick out of that. Syd might just help change the world someday. GO, Syd!!

Kay @BrightEyes what a wonderful time you've had with your kids! I can feel the joy in your post. How nice to spend time with your adult children - they're a double joy. Adult children are SO delightful to be with. I'm so happy for you.

Trudy @taxed4ever you and Gary are so good to your in-laws. You have so much patience - I know they have to appreciate you and Gary's sister more than you'll ever know. I know that they do some "questionable" things, but you all just "go with it". That's all you can do - that and delicately give advice that they may or may not take. Hugs.

I'm going to go and check out the board - it's now afternoon. LOL Hugs to all of you and TGIF!

Don't push "coming back to normal." Let your body tell you when you need to rest and JUST DO IT!! We aren't as young as we used to be, so it takes time to bounce back! #kiss

Good Afternoon!
I slept until 9:30 this morning! And I went to bed at midnight, which is early for me! Guess I needed it after all of the scanning yesterday! Back at it as soon as I was awake! I took a break to eat and see what's up with y'all!

@Betty Jo glad you didn't overdo it too badly yesterday!

@LSlycord I got a little misty-eyed at the picture in my head of you and your daughter walking arm in arm!

@taxed4ever bless your heart as the house hunting saga continues! Really looking forward to seeing your junk journal video!

@BrightEyes so happy for you spending time with your dear children and making memories! Can't wait to see the pages you scrap from the captured moments!

@Cherylndesigns I love taking photos of the moon! I would certainly love taking them with a telescopic lens like Braden has! My first husband had a huge telescope at one time, but it didn't have a camera on it back in the 80's. Funny story.....he took the telescope out a back road one night where there were no lights and he could get a clearer vision. A car stops and shines their lights on him. Next thing he knows, two cops are aiming their guns at him and asking him what he is doing (as if you couldn't tell). Anyway, after he explained, even giving them a look into the telescope, they told him there had been some drug activity out there lately and to be careful! DH never went back to that spot again!

OK. I'm outta here!

Oh my goodness, I can see how that could happen! You can't stop anywhere without somebody wanting to know what you're doing. Side note: my youngest gs got car sick recently and we pulled over (in the mountains) to let him vomit (I know TMI). Next thing we know, here comes a state police car. UGH. We couldn't believe it! He wanted to know if everything was okay. No, Sir, my grandson is sick. He stayed there with us for a minute, then went on. Can you believe that? Well, I guess it was kind of nice. At least he didn't have his gun drawn.

We live on 75 acres and it's jet black out here - we have no city lights and only a few pole lights so Braden has a beautiful, dark sky to use his telescope. His bedroom is on the top floor, and he has a perfect view. I can't believe the gorgeous photographs he gets. The moon is waxing now and you can actually see the dark sliver - it's incredible! I want to do a page with all of the moon phases, but that's a lot of work for him to take a picture every night. Are you on FB or Instagram? I posted my layout using his picture of the moon on 9/7/22 last night.

Thanks for sharing that story of your late husband trying to take moon pictures. I'm sure it was scary at the time!
