CHEERY O
1 day down, 179 more to go! hahaha! The kids' first day of school was a success. They said that on a scale of 1-10, their days were a 6 (Scott) and a 6 or 7 (Cait). For me, that is a huge success! Highlights were Scott saying that this year won't suck as much as last year. Cait said that she is the only girl in her math class and *only* 3 boys hit on her.... :faint:

Can I please force them back into preschool?????

Work was really long yesterday. I missed having Caitlyn there to help me. And apparently, she misses the money I paid her. She wants to go to the football game tonight and its $15 admission. There has to be something else going on, like a bonfire, because isn't $15 for a HS football game a lot? Or is it just me living under a rock again?

Who has fun plans for today? I am going to paint those rooms that I need to do. Then I want to keep up with the class in the Back to School Challenges. I did the first one yesterday and it was a good test for me.

Finish It Friday:
I have got to clean out my Inbox..... ugh....

Have a great day my lovelies!!!

OH- back to work I go- It is going to be nearly 90 here today with stormy weather predicted for night time. Ah-life- just have to live it!

personals:

Phyllis- what you wrote about parenting is 100%. And to top it off, is the feeling of being judged by the other moms if you are not doing "enough." I try really hard to be as middle of the road as I can. IMHO, they are old enough to make there own choices and I hope that I have taught them well enough. But some of their friends' parents do so much more, more involvement, more hovering, way more pushing..... I dunno, maybe it is just my own insecurities that are making me read to much into it, but I feel like they look down on me b/c I don't force them into after school activities, or that I am thrilled if Scott gets a C and is happy about learning. The looks I get and comments, that Scott is 16 and is not looking at 4 year colleges....

Meh-- enough of my rambling again..... :tape:

But last thing, is that I know what you mean compeltely with this :
who knows which way is the right way? certainly not me. i'm STILL trying to figure out whether anything i did while raising my kids even mattered.:loco:"

Hi Trudy!!

Heather- I think that would startle me every time, especially if I was trying to sleep. Hope that your BP is going inth e right direction!
How did Chloe do at school yesterday, any better?

I think I bugged the rest if you in the Thursday thread, but hugs and love to all of you!!! I am over and out-- gotta round up the kids for the bus...

WOW! $15 for a high school football game...seems outlandish to me!

You guys have got to see my niece's graduation pics. The girl is gorgeous! Her mom said that they spent 4 1/2 hours taking photos. But the woman immediately posted some of the photos on her blog. http://lynndemarayphotography.com/blog/2013-senior-sarah/ Ok, enough bragging.

I bet that you do miss having Cait as a helper. Much longer days for mom!

Laurie, we are ahead of you with the stormy weather...it is supposed to happen here during the day. Temps are supposed to drop throughout the day and only hit a high of about 70 something.

Chris, glad that your kiddos are having a good time so far at school. look at it this way. don't wish them back at preschool. you'd have to live all this all OVER again!! revel in the fact that you only have a few more years to deal with their relationship with ANY school! i jumped up and down when my second finished college. to me, there's nothing more frustrating than dealing with schools as they are today. and i'm an ex-teacher!! and $15 to get into a high school game is hideous. :scared: what are they doing charging STUDENTS anything at all???

Linda, your niece is SO pretty!

Laurie, today is our last hot day for a while. i'm hearing that it's going to be 68 degrees here on Saturday! so, no more AC after today. it was SO HOT sleeping last night. i feel like i was awake for most of the night because of it.

i've been looking for a pair of dress shoes that i can actually STAND in for my 45th high school reunion next weekend and that work with the dress i'm wearing. no luck. i have NO idea what i'm going to do. maybe i should buy a pair of fuzzy pink slippers and wear those. wow, do i hate dressing up. it's just NOT part of my life and hasn't been for a long time. add to that the fact that i have NO sense of style or fashion. i'm hopeless when i have to go to "events." oh, well. maybe i'll go back out today and keep looking. sigh....:-?

everyone, enjoy your Friday!

Wow Linda your niece is so stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris good luck with painting the rooms... ughh... hee hee I hate painting!!!!!!!!!

Phyliss I hate dressing up too!!!!!!!!! I moved away from my school so I don't have to go to reunions... mind you it could have been fun:) Have a great day girls, I'm helping my SIL decorate cupcakes for her daughters bday today. Good times:)

Chris.....WHAT??? $15 for a HS football game??? yeah...they must be paying those football players now!! and no you can't send them back to preschool...if you could my kids would have been through preK about 20 times now...BIG BRATS!!!!

Laurie....is it humid there too?? we have been having upper 80's and that is pretty good, but the humidity has been HORRID...it feels like 98 out there!!!! IIIICK!!

LindaS...OMG!!! SHE IS GORGEOUS...are you sure she is only graduating for HS?? WOW!!! and those photos are amazing!!!!!!!

Phylis....I am with you on the school thing...I hated it when I was in school...I hated it more when my kids were in school....so far with the grandkids, I am okay..mainly because they are little and they are gone all day!! :partywine and you must of come from my zone....STUDENTS did not have to pay to get into ball games when I was in school!!!!!! As for the shoes....comfort is the only thing that matters to me anymore.....DD tells me all the time how AWEFUL my shoes are!!! well I got news for her....the "boats" I see on her feet ain't too pretty either!! :tape2: shut me up!!

Jen...I bet if you went to a reunion, they would have to close the place down!! HAHA...no YOU WOULD BE THE PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies!

Temps in the 70's here in MO this morning!! I could live with those all year long!!............guess I better move then, huh!

Chris- Happy Paint Day! What color? I painted a bathroom last week and hubby pounded the nails in the walls (not happy about that.........it's a guy thing!) for the two pictures I wanted to hang and when we hung them we found the brackets were not centered on the back so the pictures hung crooked. No way to move them either the way they were attached to the frame. Took them back and of course nothing like them left. So I have a new painted bathroom and two beautiful nails on the wall for decor!!:)

Laurie- we have storms later today too. Stay cool and have a good day.

Linda- I'll check out the senior photos. Love some of the creative things photographer's are doing.

Phylis- I'd love to come shopping with you!! We'd find you something comfortable and stylish..............although I do like that slipper idea! Good luck on your shopping adventure!

Jenn- Good morning and thank you for your sweet comments on my pages.

Nana Linda- Hope you accomplish all that is on your list and then ENJOY your evening and your weekend!

Eva- Good Morning and that boxing grandma photo could work for many computer frustrations!:)

I'm catching up today and enjoying the temps before it rains later.
Have a wonderful day all!

Can I just say again how much I like the community here? You've all been so welcoming and it's clear that you all actually spend some time here.

Today, the little one has an eye doctor appointment, my friend Brooke is coming over for lunch and she is always awesome about encouraging me and reminding me of the gospel, but I most definitely have to finish the pile of dishes that is threatening to take over our kitchen. And I hate doing dishes, but they need to get done.

Donna....yes!!! my kind of temps too!!! Someone make this humidty go away!! Hope you catch up and ENJOY your temps and day!!

TWOMOREDAYS....sorry, I don't know your name....and what does the screen name mean? just curious...we are a nosey bunch that way!! WELCOME!!! I hear you on those dishes....I tend to pile them in the sink at night and then do them in the morning..but what happens when you have to go out...UUGHH they are still there in the afternoon!!!! I used to do them as soon as we ate...but since my two grandchildren came to live with me...I have to do baths, books, bedtime and such after dinner...too tired to do them after that!! ENJOY your lunch with your friend!!

Okay...I really have to go now...I need to get this work done...and we are running out soon to get Miss S a birthday present!!! I looked yesterday at Walmart..nothing struck my fancy!! Toys R Us...here we come (I am looking for something REALLY LOUD and NOISEY....Phylis..there are ways to get back at your kids you see :pound:)

Oh one more cute story....When Sharon and Savannah came to pick up Cameran the other day, I asked Savannah "are you still two?" she said "AAAHHHHHHH NANNNNNNNNNAAAA!!! I am three now, I am a big girl. SILLLLLY NANA!!".....is it any wonder I love them so much?? Then Jaiden pipes in and says "and I am a bigger girl Nana, because I am 4 now, NOT THREE, BUT FOUR, REMEMBER THAT"..Bwahahaha..what are they saying to me???

Hmm, I suppose I should put a signature here with my real name. I'm Kim, by the way, nice to meet you. :)

It's kind of embarrassing in a way, but it's the first three words to this song "Wallflower" by Splender. They had some one-hit wonders in the very late nineties and I started using it as a screenname all the way back then. At this point, I don't really care about the song, but I've been using it for so long it's hard to part with. Now I like to think of it as a kind of - remember you might have only two more days or, when I'm impatient, Hooray! There's only two more days left sort of mantra.

Morning Ladies... I slept in  Going to be a hot and sunny day here today, so I really have to get out for a long walk today, before the weather changes and I 'm stuck on the treadmill again :mmph:

One more week and then I'm on holidays!!!! Looking forward to our trip down the coast and hopefully a couple of days at Disney, Vegas and the Grand Canyon

Chris - Happy painting!! I should send my MG down to give you a hand, he loves to paint!! Glad to hear that the kids enjoyed the first day of school! You never mind about those other parents!!! You raise your kids the way you want to and not the way others think you should do it!! Your children sound like they are pretty great kids to me and they have parents who love them and support them, so that's more than most kids get, I think you are an awesome MOM!!!! $15 for a high school football game is ridiculous!! What happened to students not paying at all for a game?? Am I that old?? (don't answer that question!).

Laurie - Back to work huh?? Yuck that sucks!! Hopefully it goes by smoothly and you get back home before the stormy weather starts!

LindaS - OMG You're niece is a stunner!! Just a lovely girl! Beautiful pictures! You must be so proud!

Phylis - good luck with the shoe shopping! I would love to help you shop! I miss having my daughter here to help me with my shopping! Finding the right shoe is very hard, but I know you will see just the right pair, however those fuzzy pink slippers sound pretty good to me! Is your reunion right where you live? You will have a great time I'm sure, so nice to see old faces from the past! Enjoy your day my friend!

Eva - Love the old lady pic!! I do that same thing quite often to my computer, looking for a new one when I cross the border, hoping that the prices will be better than here in Canada!

Jen - Have fun decorating cupcakes today, would love to see your work!!

Donna - I'm with you on the temps in the 70's just perfect and wish they could be that way all year! Hmmmmm where could we move to for that?

Nana Linda - Love your story about your sweet Savannah!! Happy Birthday to her!! Remember Jaiden is FOUR NOW, NOT THREE :becky: Love it! Hope you find the perfect noisy gift for Savannah today!! :horn:

Kim - How nice to meet you! Welcome to the "O" we are a chatty bunch and have so much fun meeting here everyday! Love your back to school avatar!!! Get those dishes done :becky:

Well I need some breakfast and then so much catching up to do here at the "O"!! Have a great Friday everyone and I hope something magical happens for you all today!!
