Whoops! I am here a lot later than I expected or wanted to be. I was trying to read some of the news that has happened in the last 24 hours and it is truly making my head spin. I would hate to be a reporter at this point in time. By the time you hit "Publish" is is totally out of date. :ranger:
I was able to get quite a bit done yesterday. I scrubbed all of the floors and washed the wine glasses. Gary is going to help me with dusting the LR and vacuuming today while I do all of the food prep.
I forgot that I need to make birthday cards for everyone so I started them too.

It has been mostly quiet here and after the last few weeks that I am had, I am pretty ok with that. Kids are good, my mom is hanging in, party stuff is moving along.

I hope that everything is all good for you too! xoxo!

I have the picture I took of the pumpkins-
attachment.php

A bit lumpy and lopsided and missing stitches here and there. But not bad overall. I am making pumpkin-shaped snickerdoodles to go with them today too. And if people don't like 'em- oh well. LOL

Nah, my family is great. They are always happy with anything I make for them. They understand our situation. But if I ever win a million dollars, one of the things I will be happy about is to actually *buy* people gifts and cads. And hire a personal chef.

Nancy- the news here is bonkers. BONKERS! (all I can say is it's about time they are moving on this) Like I said up there^^ I can't keep all of the info straight in my head. It's too much. I listened to the hearing yesterday (yup, I am the dork that has the C-SPAN app on my phone hahaha!) while I was cleaning after I read the whistleblower complaint. It is astounding and heartbreaking how little regard this admin has for democracy. I might dislike policy, but that is an argument/debate I am ok with having. This is way too much and so much more than policy differences.
What a messed up story about the hockey player and his dad!!! Had the dad and kid just apologized, it could have been a lesson learned and moved on. It sounds harsh, but what a smart thing that DH's mom did. Good for her. We need more parents like that.
I guess is it getting close for your surgery- Oct 8th? Do you feel ready?
Too funny about your dinner. I read it, thinking mmmm, sounds good. :hungry: That made me remember a dream I had last night about someone trying to force me to eat pork chops. I was so upset b/c I don't eat pork. heh. But your dinner does sound delish even if it is pork hahaha!!

Trudy- Your weather was a bit like ours. It started out sunny but then clouds and rain moved in and then the sun was back out. We really need some rain.
That is fab to hear that Hunter is having to much fun at preschool. I swear, 99% of the time a little one cries when a parent leaves, they stop within minutes and then have a fun day. So hard on the parents but the kids are great. Hope that Heather feels better soon.
Lessons... 1. That is insanely amazing that she asked about it!! :high5: 2. Would you have a place to do that or is it a one-on-one? 3. Would it be worth your time?
No matter what you decide, I am so proud of you! What an honor.

I see you and DH did the same thing with your DS. Thankfully, when I was arrested when I was 20, I didn't need to be in locked up. But when I called my parents to pick me up, they took their time coming to get me. My dad came with me for my court date but it wasn't to help me get off. Nope, they weren't happy with me at all. I guess that all says something about how we are as people.

Jean- sorry to hear that you were tired and creaky. I understand that. (although, I have to knock wood at that-- since my joints/fatigue have been so much better than they have in the past few years, so happy to be in remission!!!)
Oh how wonderful for your DH's niece to ask for one of your drawings! Between you and Trudy- you should open a gallery!! I love being surrounded by such talented and creative women!!!
I see that your questions for Trudy are similar to mine but much more fleshed out. I love that you added in the bottom line-- whether she would *like* to do it. Really, that is the most important part.

Karen- oh no!!!! I would tell you that your hair looks amazing but if it is upsetting you that much, words won't make you feel better. (BTDT) I don't know if it actually helps, but Caitlyn took Biotin when someone cut her hair way too short when she was in HS. It supposedly makes hair and nails grow faster.
That is soooo cool that you are getting ready for Halloween- I am glad that I am not the only one doing that. Haha. The costumes sound really fun. Caitlyn, Scott and the crew (the three couples that go camping together) are going as pirates. Caitlyn got her costume the other day and it doesn't look that much different than something she would wear on a regular day.
Your sister's party must be a blast every year, especially that she decorates/dresses with a theme. Pictures of that will cool!

felis- I hope your eye is better!

Not much to add other than I'm COLD. Our old indoor/outdoor thermometer conked out a while back and DH got a new one yesterday. Thus we know it is warmer outside than in this morning, not yet up to 70 inside. It is sunny and getting warmer out, so I think I need to stand in the sun.

Chris, the pumpkins are adorable and the display of them is so charming. Where did you find the directions? I'm reading a book (fiction, a mystery) in which a character claims knitting and crocheting both can be restorative activities. Doesn't sound like that works for you. I haven't crocheted much in years but wonder if I might like to again. Thanks too for kind words about my drawings. Wouldn't I love to have a gallery with Trudy! and Kay with her paintings.

Trudy, I just read about the winners of the Canadian "Amazing Race" which sounds pretty cool and different from the U.S. version that I watched for a number of seasons. Wondered if you ever watched it?

Hope everyone is having a great build up to the weekend.

Happy Friday everyone! Well I was totally wrong about the rain coming yesterday, but what else is new LOL. It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day, so I got out later in the afternoon and did some much needed weeding, it was good to be outside! I did get my layout finished yesterday and will post it to the gallery this morning. I ended up discarding what I had started and used one of Momma O's 52 Inspirations and it came together quickly and effortlessly!! Thanks Vicki!! Today not much is on my plate so I will try to get back to painting my turtle and perhaps make a couple of cards. Of course I will play around here at the O too! A nice relaxing day of doing all the things that I love! I wonder what will happen to throw a wrench in my plans LOL!! :brick:

Chris - So happy for you that you are feeling so much better these days!! You certainly sound like you are less stressed out by all the party prep etc. Life is good!! Your pumpkins are amazing!!! I love them! I am envious that you can crochet, it is something that I never could do. Was not very good at knitting either LOL. As for the lesson in painting, it would be a one on one, so I could do it here at home, not sure I am very comfortable letting a stranger come to my home, perhaps if DH is here with me on a weekend or something? Anyway I emailed her back and told her that I would let her know, she just wants to make something for her new home to hang in the livingroom. But darn it if she likes my work so much than why doesn't she just buy one of my paintings?? LOL. Perhaps I should suggest to her that I would give her a good price for a commissioned piece. Sounds like you will be all ready for the party, hope the food prep goes well today!

Ok Heather and Hunter are calling, so I will be here later on to catch up with everyone else! Have a great morning ladies!!

Morning, gals... late again today. Got side-tracked by the Mini O's kits so spent time working on a few LOs. Had a couple of days without the mouse giving me fits... but it has been cutting out several times today... so time to change to the new keyboard/mouse I got last week. When it quit on me... it hung up the LO I had started in PSE and froze everything! I decided to quit working in PSE until I get it changed out.

DD#1 called to say she would be over tomorrow to pick up the desk/chair as DGD wants them. DD#1 is going to visit DGD next week so will take it to her. It was my aunt's desk/chair so glad it is staying in the family.

Karen... I'm so sorry about your bad haircut. BTDT... Hope you can come up with a way of styling it so you can stand to look into the mirror. I waffle between rolling my hair for a stylist look... or just letting it be with curly top look. The curly top look is so easy but like the styled look better.

Chris... those pumpkins are so cute... I am sure the family will like them. Glad you are less stressed over the party this time around.

Trudy, if you are conflicted about about teaching the gal... I would so as you said - have her pick out one of your pieces instead. I don't blame you for not feeling comfortable about having a stranger in the house without your DH there.

That's it... the mouse is quitting and affecting the keyboard. So off to change it out. CYL

Good evening girls!
Yes my eye is recovered, but as long as I'm staying away from scrap more difficult it's become to get back. I have to do at least my 52 weeks pages, as this project is important for me. But the low interest that my last pages received is very demotivating and makes me tepid. And I'm an awful person as I realized I'm not comment any layouts this month :guilt:. Have to fix that! Meanwhile staying away by the scrap or read wasn't big deal as weather is just perfect for me! It's a rain at night and sunny at days. Also excellent for blouse at afternoon, but needs jacket early and late at the day. I wasn't able to stay away only from Instagram.
And here I have to go back and say that for me social media are one of the best creations ever!!! Finally person is free to be whatever she/he want, and it's not necessary to match to the people who physically surround her/him. As soon as you felt ugly, or weird, or undervalued (from boyfriend, classmates, neighbours, never mind what kind of nasty people) you have just to make fast research and can find another chick who looks, act or think like you, and hey she is popular and loved, because she is find the right people to surround her. And you know that you are perfect, and can be loved at the moment when mute the toxic people around you! It's so helpful for building self confidence and self love! As Chris, said you'll not lonely anymore! In my opinion parents have to educate their child how to use it properly and positive! As with the food it's delicious, but depend how much and how you use it. If foods make you happy, you have to learn to use is as a self-expression, make cooking your hobby or even become a chef and makes career. If to scroll posts make you happy, you have to learn to use is as a self-expression, read posts that learn you to something or even become an influencer and makes career. If you over consuming food this will end with health disorder, and same is for social media too! In now days social media are basic needs, and parallels are many. :hungry:
There was few other interesting things that you commented this week, but I don't want to make this post novel long. Probably have also many things I'm missed, so excuse me for that, but there was lot of things and I'll mentioned only the most impressive at the personals!

Chris, oh, Cait is so cute! I can't drink get headache of several sips, so I do it only on holiday events where the crew predisposes. So my sis found that Vermouth is suitable for me with nice taste and not too intense effect. Tell Cait this as an option!
The pumpkins are adorable !
I'm laugh so much on your wish about actually *buy* people cads. My aunt do this all the time, and I hate them! Seriously there are just a piece of paper with cliche message in them! I do adore cards that my sister brings me with the famous paintings, but everything else just take me space. I'm absolutely sure that handmade cards are 100% more precious for your family. But if you do believe that regular printed cards from store will makes YOU feels better, just let me know on PM, I'll love to send you about a 5 cards I have unsigned. I'm sure I'm stored them in some box, I can found them next week, and if I send them at October you'll have them somewhere at Desember. If you can use them this will be recycling of paper and will makes me feel satisfied.

Trudy, no matter what you decided (Great questions by Jean! ), to be asked to teach is such a honor! Honestly I hate strangers at my house, keep them on the front door or at most at the garden, they think I'm rude, but actually I'm just weird  .
Your neighbours story is heartbreaking, and makes me very sad (I wasn't read it then, when I posted), so sorry!

Nancy, ouch, this is another example for our debate should or shouldn't to separate the famous people talent and good job, from their personal behavior. Unfortunately most talented people are jerks! This makes me sad, but I just separate these two things.
Thank you for the bird apps, I definitely have to found it! You are queen of the apps and hacks!
LOVE the Luther's photo in the pool, which I saw at Instagram!

Jean, love to see you posting more regular! It's absolutely not surprising for me that your niece wants the drawings!!! They are gorgeous! Can't wait to see the new, the intuitive one! The marsh and birding sounds very intrigued! Wish I was able to see this H&S song video you took. Did you shared it somewhere? I saw British are very excited about Abbey Road album's anniversary. But probably in US it isn't a big deal, as well here too.

Karen, please share with us pictures! I really want to know more about the steampunk, as I'm familiar with it only visual! I'm bought one steampunk book before ages, but I'm still not start it, thank for remind me!
I wish my hair to was more stronger, as I liked to experiment with it at past! Sorry that you don't feel comfortable with the change, but please believe when others start makes you compliments! You can try some Oils for faster hair growth, just google it!

Kay, so sweet that you have heritage furnitures, I love such things!

OMG, this post is kilometric long, sorry! Hugs and sweet dreams! :sheep1 sheep2:sleep:
