Friday!!!! It is Friday!!!! :bliss:

Wait. Wut? I still have two more full days before I can "rest."
I worked my butt off yesterday and my bursitis is letting me know it. Vacuumed, mopped, scrubbed. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I swear I don't know how my family cannot keep coffee from splashing out of their mugs. Scott is the worst on the stairs, every darn step had coffee spilled on it. It is one of those things that I ignore until there is a party at my house and I end up cleaning up the mess. Gary spills coffee in the kitchen and on the rug. It is simple: Don't don't fill your mug that high! grrr. ;)

Cait's birthday was quiet but nice. She and Brendan took Jaida to the dog park for a bit but there weren't any other dogs to play with. Then she got a text from a friend who has a huge spider that has a web over her front door and the entire family is terrified of it. On the first day of the class they have together, they were playing some guessing game, like 2 Truths and a Lie, and one of Cait's was that she won't kill bugs but will catch them and release them outside. She has tried to relocate this spider 4 times now but every time she goes there, the spider disappears. So when her friend texted her that the spider was out, she and Brendan and Jaida went down to rescue it. And yup- the spider was gone by the time she got there. But Jaida got to play with their dog a bit so that was nice.

TLO and my other dogs are getting along so much better. I don't think that they barked at each other at all yesterday. TLO will even go into her crate on her own if she wants to rest. Last night while we were watching TV, the three of them were sleeping on the floor together. :pupkiss:

We still don't have a name for her and we need to have one before we finalize the adoption contract.

Today, my mom and Cait and I are going to the store to get some paper goods for tomorrow and then the bakery to get some rolls and a cake.

Hope that everyone has a fantastic day!!

Thank you all for the b-day wishes for Caitlyn!

Jean- hope that your trip is going well and that it cooled off for you.
I am surprised that no one notices (or called me out on it) that I wrote August instead of September the other day in the title. The weather here has been warmer and humid and it felt a bit more like August here too.

Nancy- you always crack me up-- so excited that you get hockey and breakfast, the perfect start to your day.
I am not as excited at the reminder that I am overdue for a bone density scan and that I still need to make an appt for my breast MRI. Yuck.
Do you think that you ever stop seeing your kids as "kids?" I offered to make Scott a sandwich for school the other day and he looked at me like I was batty. It wasn't like I offered to cut the crusts off or anything, just a sandwich LOL

Trudy- the hike sounds like it was very pretty! Did you have any more luck with flights for Heather and the boys? Hope so. You must be missing them all so much and I bet that Hunter is growing so fast. How is Heather managing with the two of them? I know you were concerned but she is a rock star like her mama!
Nope, no moss in the attic so I really hope that there is some at the store today.

Rae- hope that you are feeling better by now. You are going to have so much more credit at the consignment shop! I give you so much credit. Your outfit really sounds cozy! I wear legging and Gary's t shirts when I don't have to leave the house. Lately, I wear them even out and about. I have really let myself go.

We ruled out Nala and I think we are deciding between Zoe and Whiskey. No one is 100% behind any of them. Although, my kids weren't crazy about Jaida as name at first either but it really suits her. :noidea:

felis- i will be sure to show that image to Caitlyn, it will make her very happy!

xoxoxo!

Good morning - Luther is off at doggie day care. He is so happy when he goes. They made him wait a few minutes as they were changing dogs and he wanted so bad to go to the other dogs. Cracked me up. So I have a day to myself. My books are ordered from my trip to see the eclipse and girlfriends so that makes me really happy. Made another great blue apron meal, just a simple chicken dinner with brown rice with brown butter and corn and shallots. And a tomato salad that was really good! I don't usually like tomatoes but these were marinated in sherry vinegar with basil seeds. Believe me I would never but basil seeds I did not even know about basil seeds. But the best was my Devils defeated the Canadiens 4-1 with their star goalie, Carey Price, in the net. My #1 draftee Nico Hischier scored again. This is a great sign for my Devils.

Chris so sorry you are so sore today. And we will think of our kids as kids as long as they don't think about the extra work they make us do i.e. you and the coffee spills. If they were cleaning up their own messes it would stop. LOL. My son and DH never manage to get the dirty dishes into the dishwasher only to the sink or stove island. Wow a few extra steps and it would be in the dishwasher but no moms do that. That is so amazing about how that spider just keeps coming back. My son nearly had a heart attack when a spider dropped down from an outside lamp beside our backdoor as he was coming in from walking Luther. He does not like spiders at all inside or out. It was pretty funny! Glad she had a nice birthday! And congrats on keeping the puppy I saw it on Facebook.

Trudy your hike sounds awesome. How fun to have those boys join the hike. Hope the airline flights are working out.

Rae what a relaxing evening. I have watched the first three episodes of Sinner and it is so unlike the book that I have to forget I ever read the book. I just have to find time to watch more. I think I will this weekend. Have fun relaxing and feeling better!

Jean hope the temps are getting cooler. We may have record highs here in NJ with 89 the highs for Sun and Mon. Not complaining.

felis that is one great birthday photo for Cait!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I had a relaxing night, was in my chair, watching TV until 10 and then went to bed. Good thing I went to bed early b/c my face was throbbing at 2:30 and woke me up. I was stuffed up, sinuses were throbbing and the roof of my mouth was raw and painful. Put my sinus EO blend on my face, took some Advil, propped up 2 pillows and settled into bed to watch the last couple of episodes of Food Network Star. I think I finally fell back to sleep around 5:30 for an hour or so before getting up. Now that I'm up and about, I feel a bit better. I'll have to pick up some sugar free cough drops today so if my mouth starts to hurt I can use those to get some moisture in my mouth at night. My clothing karma is ongoing, I popped in with a few bags yesterday and managed to get two more jackets and a fleecy lined long hoodie that fits perfectly which will be perfect for wearing in dry weather when I take Taz out in the cool weather.

Jen came by for a visit last night and told us that Noel (her cat) is at the vet getting tests on a growth and may need surgery or if malignant, just make him comfortable. He's old and either way, it may be too much for him. Fingers crossed he'll be ok or will pass easily without pain. He's such a wonderful cat and we all love him. We talked about her possibly getting a small rescue/shelter dog sometime in the future. It would probably mean her having to move b/c I don't think she can have a dog where she is now. I told her that the right opportunity will present itself, don't rush it and just be open to the possibilities.

Today I'll go pick up the WaterPik (still haven't made it to Walmart to get it) and need to get another box of suet for the birds (they are eating like pigs right now).

Chris - hope you get a yummy cake for tomorrow. Glad to hear the dogs are getting more and more settled with each other.

Nancy - sounds like another yummy meal! Sounds like you are enjoying your hockey.

Jean, Felis, Trudy and everyone else...hope today is a good day for you all.

I'm getting to work now while I've still got some energy. I may take a break this afternoon and take a short nap. I think I might need it.

We're in Oklahoma now and it is still hot, but the A/C indoors is lovely. Wish the cat wasn't so upset with visitors, but she's better than last year, so maybe soon we won't seem like invading monsters.

Chris, hope you all decide on TLO's name that makes everyone happy - eventually. The busy day has been your norm for a bit now, so keep on keeping on, I guess. Just don't wear yourself out for the party.

Nancy, good news on the hockey game! Especially as it is good news for the future perhaps. Congrats on the eclipse visit book. Your books are all so lovely and special.

Rae, wow, you don't sound well. Maybe need to see a doctor? Hope it clears up quickly instead.

Felis, what a lovely picture for Cait!

Trudy, hope you're having a good day.

Can't help thinking about the folks in Puerto Rico, and all others with earthquakes and hurricanes lately but wishing everyone a better day today.

I got some cold. Spent the day under blanket with tea echinacea tea, book and cat for company. My lovely family take care for the pets and I was left in the bed. They say if you eat healthy and have enough movement you will be health, but no I have low immunity. The weather is extrimly cold, from top in Wednesday, today was for jacket, and very windy. Good news is that windows do not miss the wind. Hooray!

Oh, Rae, so bad about Noel, hope everything goes alright! My belief is that the vet medicine is your country is very good! Also the space is not a problem to have a dog, can get some of these small dogs, mine is with size of tomcat. But socialization with Noel disturbed me.

Chris, If I'm understand correct you will keep the dog, so great! But I'm not surprised at all.

Jean, I can't wait to see your photos from the Oklahoma! Hope to have one of the cat too! Don't worry this is normal for indoors, one of mine always go under the bed, act like she is invisible. Have a good time!

Nancy, this tomato salad, sounds delicious. I love tomato, but I'm not try with basil seeds, we know only basil green and dry, I have to check that.

Trudy, looks like hike was very fun! Wait for photos!

:hello: ladies... I am so late getting in here today! It has been a very frustrating couple of days with trying to get flights etc. But we finally have Heather, Jonah, Mason and Hunter all booked to fly out together on the 16th of December!! Yes everyone will be here for CHRISTMAS!!!! I am over the moon happy about it! I spent a very sleepless night last night hoping to get it all arranged this morning and it went without a hitch! After 3 days of trying to find flights out to Ontario I finally discovered that DD can't fly with kids and only one companion. It is a safety thing that they have recently changed. I totally get it, I mean if something horrible happened how could I help her an infant and a 4 year old all by myself :becky: Disappointing for DD as now she feels that something was taken from her. I told her its ok we will work it all out somehow. So now because she can't use the promo for her disability they have no problem letting her fly with two kids and only Jonah to help her, their asses are covered, but still if something happened how could Jonah help all three?? It is a worry for sure! So now we have to pray that the weather will cooperate and they will all arrive safely. :gaah: does the worrying ever stop??? Today I am going outside and washing the car in the sunshine. I have sat in front of this computer for long enough!!

Chris - So glad that Cait had a nice birthday and I give her credit for trying to re-locate the spider, it is something that I would never do, they freak me out!! :fear: Good luck on picking out a name for your newest member of the family, I am sure you will choose wisely!! Hope you find the Moss and the store today! Sending you healing thoughts for your aches and pains today, try to take it a bit easier today!!

Nancy - Enjoy your nice quiet day today without sweet Luther. How great to know that your books will soon be on their way back to you for you to enjoy! Hooray for your Devils beating Montreal!! You know how I feel about them LOL. Another yummy meal for you again last night! How awesome!

Rae - Ugh on still not feeling well! I sure hope you get to feeling better by this weekend! You are so lucky with the clothes shopping!! Send some of that clothing Karma my way please! I think that you officially own more jackets now than I have every owned in my entire life :becky: You must be the best dressed woman in the area!! Take care of you today!!

Jean - DD was saying that they are in the sweltering heat where she is also. They are getting their summer finally. She is not impressed LOL. Thank goodness for air conditioning! Enjoy your visit!

Felis - aren't you sweet for sharing that picture for Cait!! Hope you are having a lovely day!

Ok I am off this darn computer and need to eat, I haven't done that yet today and my stomach is telling me its time! Crock Pot Keto Ribs over Zoodles for dinner tonight, nice to at least have dinner taken care of already, nothing else has been done LOL. Have a great Friday everyone!
