Wheee!! Friday!!!
I am glomming onto Caitlyn's schedule since she is the only one who actually experiences "weekends."

I started out this week all determined to stay on schedule, to do stuff, and get organized. Then in the last two days, I have been unable to do more than hobble a bit. I am going to have to restart that all as soon as I can. I am feeling so much better today, still extremely stiff and sore but the pain is going away.
I was pleased with myself yesterday. I scrapped a page and I liked how it came out. It was also my third page for Christopher's album, so only 17 more to go. I have until April so I won't worry just yet ;)

I have to get my flu shot this morning and then work on the house a bit. I will ask someone to bring the laundry basket upstairs but I can start the wash myself. We are thinking/hoping that the washing machine is working again. The tech fixed something with the drain pump so fingers are crossed that it is fixed for good. I am not even bothering with anything in the LR/DR area. Gary has the skeleton band and pieces and parts all over. God forbid if I touch or move something and he can't find it later hahaha!!!!

Happy New Year to my friends who celebrate today. Hugs to everyone!

Nancy- you must have been draggingn after that terrible night's sleep. I bet that the TdF is wonderful to watch just for the scenery if nothing else. How wonderful to catch up with your neighbor, I miss some -- not much, but some heh- social contact. Grilled shrimp and veggies- that sounds amazing! One of the nicer things about quarentine is having time for long family dinners and my kids had us laughing from the stories they would share from their childhoods. Then there were the confessions from their teenage years, also funny in retrospect but OMG... What a fantastic feeling to look at your kids and see how they are together, laughing.
Cait is getting the hang of being an academic advisor. She said that after one meeting, the student said how stressful and overwhelming it was and Caitlyn just put her hand over her heart and told the woman, I feel you! I am relieved that is seems to be working out. How is your DH doing with his classes and students?

Trudy- So sorry that you haven't been sleeping well either. It has to be horrible to try to breathe, are your ILs doping ok, do they have AC to clear it out a bit?
Haha! That Hunter is so darn adorable. Christopher likes to dance and wiggle his butt, does he do that too?
I want to go to a craft store! Actually I want to go to a Dollar Store or the Christmas Tree Shop... And then a craft store. Did you end up going? Buy anything fun??? Again, I need to live vicariously through all of you!

Kay- what a mess the update was for you. Gary had an old computer that Leah gave him, he was using it for one of his projects, and when it updated last week, it took out the whole darn thing, wouldn't even boot up. I don't blame you for being cautious. Good luck to you when you decde to do that.
I was trying to explain to Gary how there is very little "evidence" of the fall but how much it all hurts on the inside.

Cheryl- yay for your internet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited that you gotto see the new house. I know that you said it before but when do you expect to be in, a few months, hopefully before Christmas? Or am I totally off base?
Bad Dasiy for dragging you a bit too! No, she isn't bad. She is a good girl who loves to explore. :p
Whisky once dragged Caitlyn I don't even know how many feet. We had taken her swimming and she was on a retractable leash so she could go out a bit farther and then we could reel her back in LOL I went to look for another stick and she took off after me, dragging Cait like a rag doll behind her. It is funny now but Cait had cuts and bruises like mad. Why do we love these dogs so much? haha!!

The family homes/acreage is amazing. Please share some photos! That is a fab dream so have everyone together like that.

xoxo!

Real quick in and out... heading for the base this AM to pick up meds refill and stop at the commissary for groceries. Don't need a lot as I stocked up the last time. Will stop on the way home to pay a bill and run by to figure out where the MVD office is. Understand from a friend that it is hard to see with only a small sign by the driveway entrance.

Chris, I hear you about not much sign of the fall but the aches and pains make moving uncomfortable. I was like that for over a week after my fall. <<< hugs >>> Alieve became my best friend during that time.

Good early afternoon! I'm up and at 'em a little earlier today. I've been sleeping so much better since we got here. It's SO quiet - I didn't realize how much "neighborhood noise" we've always had. It's so wonderful to hear the crickets at night and the birds sing all day long. I'm going to add some pictures later on today.

Chris, we hope to be in our new home in a month to a month and a half. Chuck said all kinds of construction trucks have been going in and out all day and one of them was loaded with insulation - YAY! That means things are moving ahead. The exterior is all done - just need the "innards" done now.

I think I might need to get one of those retractable leashes for Daisy. You know what that dragging is like!

Sorry you're stiff and sore. I always remind myself that at least I didn't break a bone.

Hope everybody else has a good day - a productive day. I don't try to do too much in the way of housework - that will come when we get in our new house. We're packed in here pretty tight and most of our stuff is out in a storage room that we found on the property. It was airconditioned, dry and not musty at all, so it saved our bacon with no space. Plus, we'll have to move everything up to the new house soon.

Chris, I HOPE we're settled by Christmas!!

Happy Friday everyone! Another smokey yucky day out there today! I can really smell it today so it must be getting worse out there. We were hoping that it would have been better today because we had a bit of breeze in the afternoon, but no :mmph: Oh well I got my face time call in with Heather and Hunter and did some reading and he showed me some of his toys. They are going to the library today to see what they might be able to check out in the way of books. It is a lovely sunny day for them, I am jealous LOL. So far I have done my online grocery shopping and will pick that up around 4pm today. Yesterday I did make it to the craft store and found some lovely things to start making my Christmas Cards. I have to restrain myself in that store or I would buy up the whole place LOL. There was hardly anyone at the little Farm Market next door to the craft store so I dawned my mask and got all my veggies that I needed, they are so much nicer than the ones in the store and I got some fresh local strawberries too, so good!! :hungry: Came home and finished off my page that I started, so now I will get that uploaded to the gallery and get some commenting done too.

Chris - I hope that you will not be too stiff and sore for too much longer! It sure jars the body when you have a fall doesn't it!! Good idea to have someone bring the laundry basket up the stairs for you and I am keeping my fingers crossed that your machine is finally fixed for good! I need to get my flu shot too, but have not seen where they are offering it anywhere yet. Now if only we could go and get our COVID vaccine!! I hope that soon you will be able to get to the dollar store or craft store or any store for that matter!! Hope your Gary can get the skeleton clan out of your living room soon LOL.

Kay - Hope you get everything that you need at the commissary today! Sure hope that your computer is no longer giving you any grief! Keep your fingers crossed that the next update doesn't do your computer in!

Cheryl - Hooray for the internet working again!! Glad to hear that you are sleeping so well and although you may be enjoying the crickets at night, they will drive you crazy at some point! They never stop chirping, it drives me batty!! However it is only for month or so and then they are gone. Sounds like everything is moving along quickly with your new home, how exciting to be moving into a brand new home!!

Ok I will get myself something to eat and get my layout uploaded finally! Why oh Why does it take me so long?? :noidea: Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

I decided to bite the bullet and go ahead with the latest Win10 Update when I signed out this AM. Lo and behold.... All my log-ins are working like the should since that update! ! ! ! :cheer2: What a relief! Think it might have something to do with the age of the computer as several others I know who have "older" computers [4 years or older] have had similar problems to mine.

Managed to get over to the Credit Union and pay my bill; did a quick stop across the street at the veggie market to pick up a few fresh veggies and fruit; then to the base to get meds [only took less than 15 minutes]; and finally to the commissary for groceries. Usually Friday is a heavy shopping day there but was pleasantly surprised as there might have been 30 customers shopping. They were out of a lot of things again - like paper and cleaning products - plus many other items - canned veggies, fish, soups, etc and frozen stuff. It was almost like it was when the pandemic started. Wonder if people are thinking that there will be another surge from the Labor Day parties??? Thank goodness I am okay on the products that were missing so was able to get everything I needed but toothpicks. Will check at Smiths to see if they have any.

Finally put 2 and 2 together... and figured out why I was getting cold only in the afternoons and needing a nap. It started right after I got my annual flu shot and finally started easing off yesterday. My arm was warm and slightly red but I never ran a fever with it. No coldness today so think that is what was going on.

Cheryl, so glad to hear things are moving along on the construction of your new house!! Insulation is good.. means things are moving right along. Glad there is a storage shed where you are now to help hold the the other stuff until the new house is done.

Trudy, so sorry the smoke is still so bad where you are. We are having more smoky haze again this week. The mountains are really hazy and can smell the smoke odor again. So not opening the house up until it clears up more.

Kay - you might as well "bite the bullet" - I don't think we have a lot of choice. :( Windows 10 has it's downfalls, but I seriously haven't had that many problems with it.

Yes, things are moving along on our new house. We were finally able to drive back there yesterday - the earthmovers had totally torn up the driveway back to our house putting in the railroad ties. We got through, by the skin of our teeth yesterday, but today was much easier.

They got the ceiling of our porch finished today and it's gorgeous!! We saw the beautiful stained wood inside our house yesterday but today it was done. I'm attaching a picture.

Hi all. I was going to post pictures, but decided to share the album that I've been using as a kind of diary for several months. I've really updated it since our house was under construction. It's pretty long, if any of you want to check it out. The newer pictures are at the end. We didn't get to come in July, because of Covid - we were afraid to get on an airline.

We had planned to have a House Blessing Ceremony and thanks to Facetime, we still held it. My granddaughter, Ava, my daughter, Adrienne and a helper wrote the Scriptures that I had chosen - on some of the beams, and they annointed all of the doors with olive oil. The Ceremony is about half way through. They had me on Facetime the whole time. It was very moving and I'll never forget it.

Anyway, here's a link if you have a few minutes of spare time. This will definitely give you a look where we're living now. We're really out in the sticks. I updated it today.
