Happy Friday to you all! I am back in the mountains of NJ, somewhat less-stressed than I was before. Just hearing the ocean makes me happy!
My mom and I had a really nice time. We struggled a bit because the weather kept us on our toes and every time we seemed to have a plan, it messed us up. The Bed and Breakfast itself was insanely gorgeous. I was oohing and ahhing over the flowers.

We made it to the beach for an hour on Wed, then it clouded up and got really cold. It was supposed to be very cloudy all day yesterday with a chance of showers and we decided to go to the Asbury Park boardwalk for lunch and if it rained, we could pop into a shop. We packed everything into the car, checked out and headed to the beach for an hour before we headed up to Asbury. Wouldn't you know- it was sunny and warm the rest of the day. had we known that, we could have checked our bags at the B&B, spent the day at the beachy, gone back to get our bags and they have a bathroom to wash and change before we headed home. Oh well, next time. :D

While my mom putzed around in the morning, I took a walk around and took a lot of pictures of the Inn, the flowers, the park nearby. I hope that they came out now because I now have a Christmas gift idea for my mom.

I got home and the pup is already putting some meat her bones. She is still very, very skinny but what a difference 2 days make. The other dogs still aren't thrilled but there seems to be less snapping at each other. Today we have to bring a fecal sample to her vet, so that will be a few hours out of the house. I have to unpack and pay bills. Can I please go back down the shore????:drama:

Hope that you all had a great day yesterday and an even better one today!

Trudy- the weather sounds perfect for a hike. Bet it felt so good to get your feet in the water for a few. Nature is so darn rejuvenating! Have you heard why you have a boil water advisory? I hope that it doesn't last too long.

Rae- lucky to have a closet stocked with clothes! I guess if I left the house more often I would have more of a need but since I only seem to go to the grocery store/doctor's appt/clean, I don't have much need.
I loved Night Circus. Such a cool book. I am reading The Ape House by Sarah Gruen (Water for Elephants) and I love how she portrays the bonobos and how they use ASL.

Jean- so nice to hear how you have fun at your genealogy meetings. Sounds like my MIL at her Quilt Guild meetings, always nice to be around like-minded people. :)

felis- how many fur-babies do you have right now? I am starting to cave about adopting our foster dog (any surprise there??) But we have 2 dogs, 2 cats, not to mention the kids' rats and snakes and I feel like three dogs is a lot. I wish I knew answers to that.

hugs!

good morning - well I am dog free and people free until late in the day as Luther is at doggie day care. My son is too funny. He tries but sometimes I wonder. He has these really late nights on Friday for work they finish around 2am. They can be done from home which is awesome but he does not want to hear Luther bark so he wants him at day care so he is a tad more relaxed. Well I had made an vet appt for Friday and he changed it to Thursday morning. He did this with out asking me if that was a good time for me. Well I did not have time to change it and so that means I miss my call to my sister. We had a nice talk about doing things for other people without talking to them. Kids or men not sure which. But Luther is ear infection free and happy. Luther got 3 great walks so he was a happy dog. Made a really yummy pork pasta dinner. It was fast too so that was awesome. My son ordered a new gizmo from Amazon. He totally cracks me up. It allows our tv to have picture in picture so that while he is watching a TV show he can play a game during commercials or half times or intermission and know when the game is back on. I saw the tread by Sharron about Aleexa and I feel the same way about this new gizmo. We now have the video game consoles remotes, the apple TV remote, the TV remote, the cable remote and now this remote. Cracks me up. The weather today is gorgeous. Summer with humidity and 80s. But I love it. I read the best book. For all mom - it is Class Mom by Laurie Gelman. It is about a woman who is the class mom of a kindergarten class. Her mails to the moms are so funny. Totally recommend it!

Chris so glad you had fun at the shore even if the weather did not fully cooperate. The B&B sounds so beautiful! Glad the puppy is doing so well. I am sure the others will be good eventually!

Trudy your hike sounded awesome. I just had a small walk with Luther around a pond and a little river and just the sound of the river over the rocks and seeing ducks makes me feel so much better. I have my first Devils preseason game on Monday night and I can't wait. Sounds like Boston signed their guy Pasternak so you MG must be happy.

Rae I think I need you to come and get me organized. But the problem is always can I and my boys stick with it. You are awesome! Love hearing about your clothes you are the best shopper!

Jean wow I kept getting the updates last night on the Indians game. To tie it in the 9th and then win in the 10th. 22 wins in a row is just amazing! I hope they keep it going.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... I am not going to be present here today again. Drs. Appt at 9am and then I am off to my sister's to help her clean up her yard around the B&B. She has a wedding booked there for Saturday, so she wants it all spiffy looking for that. Another beautiful sunshiny day, it will be nice to be outside for most of it! Finally got a page done for the Anna Colour challenge. (took me three days!) But I guess it was worth it as I got a StandingO for it. Nice way to start the day!

Chris - I am so glad that you and your Mom had such a great time at the shore! I am excited to see some photos! Nice that you have a gift in mind already for your Mom also!! Crazy weather for you, but it sounds like you worked around it and enjoyed every moment! Our boil water advisory is for bacteria in the water supply, not sure how bad it is but they are being cautious about it and we will be boiling water for a few more days I guess.

I will just say :hello: to the rest of you as I need to hit the shower and get going. Hope that you all have a wonderful Friday!

Ouch, I'm the worst example on the world! I have 2 dogs and dozen cats. Most of them are fostering and are with me only 2-3 months. BUT you shouldn't imagine me sitting right now and typing this surrounded by cats, the house is separated to few different apartments in one yard and I have outdoors dog and cats too. Practically I work part time so to have enough time and also work only to can feed them. My family is huge support, because they pay all bills and human food. And I had credits all the time. I hoped so much to won MoS, because I needed to sell this iPad an pay vet bill.
Everything start like a good act, because we had this farm that stays empty, and I told myself I need to give better chance to few childs, but in some moments I'm afraid that the only different between me and these animal hoarders from the TV show is that my education is animal care and I'm obsessed to clean up unlike in the show.
If you ask me do you have to keep Whisky (or how you named her) I'll say definitely, because I know some aspect of your life and you are perfect family for that! But I never honestly care for the financial part and Like Rae made yesterday, responsible people should consider vet bills and emergency situation, they always come in some moment.
You should answer to this honestly:
Do you have time to deal with long process of socialization between all pets?
Do you have enough place for all pets? (It have a standards for place, they probably are told you in the animal foundation, the strange is that they are different for the different foundation, here is 6 to 2 square meters for every big dogs, but I cheating like put some cats outdoor and mix the living space)
Do you have any options for reaction in case of financial emergency?
Voilà! You have new baby or you search for new owner to your foster friend.

And Rae, hmm, I forgot about that! I guess will be too stressed for a cat to take it with you. No one of mine don't love to travel, even to drive them to vet is nightmare. My uncle had a tomcat which was with him everywhere, traveling in car like a dog :) , till one day just escape and now live like a homeless cat, in the fishing village, they tried to catch it back without success.

My apologize to the other girls that I'm getting into your topic so circumstantially!
Trudy I wait to see the hiking photos, here is so hot, today walk at afternoon was awful.
Nancy I'm happy that Luther is better and that the weather is good for walk in your area!
Jean, I expect more lovely photos about the genealogy meetings in our 52 project. Did I thank you about your support in my difficult moments!? Thanks!

Excuse me for my spell check and word mistakes, but like you all probably knows I'm from East Europe and awful with the studying languages.

DH had a beautiful morning for his bird survey today. My time yesterday and today is mostly in preparation for sessions at the computer genealogy group tomorrow. Plus things like laundry and cheering on the streaking Indians!

Chris, despite weather hiccups, your visit with Mom to the shore seems to have done its job of soothing. And now a gift idea for her too. I know you'll love the new dog, but it might be a bit much to adopt between expense and stress on you and the rest of the household. So good that she's thriving!

Nancy, I feel like I missed something (entirely possible) but didn't your DS get his own place? Doesn't sound like it. At. All. But you have Luther and hockey almost here. Thanks for good wishes for the Indians.

Trudy, your StandingO was well-deserved! Hope the work today doesn't wear you down and that Dr. appt. went well.

Rae, sure you're busy either working or getting ready for the weekend.

Felis, you do have lots of animals! But, you obviously take good care and have room with some outside. As a bird lover, I'm not keen on cats living outdoors though as they will hunt birds, successfully. You have good advice for Chris. About the Project 52, it is so nice for me to have someone else posting too. Sorry there have been such difficult weeks. Sure hope we all have better ones coming.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Good morning, ladies. I've been working and taking care of Beckham (in and out of the yard, feeding, treats, rubs....I keep trying to work but he barks at me to pay attention to him LOL). He is barking right now b/c he wants to go out the front door and down the street to the river which was our usual morning activity but he doesn't realize that he can't walk that far now and only gets to the edge of our yard before stopping and just standing there. It's funny how his brain remembers the routine and he wants to do it but he doesn't realize that he can't anymore. Taz doesn't like listening to him bark so he went upstairs to get away LOL.

We'll be heading out this afternoon to the trailer for the weekend and back Sun afternoon. We'll have Beckham until Monday morning so not looking forward to Sun b/c its going to rain and it'll be a PITA getting him in and out of the trailer and then later, from the house for bathroom breaks. My raincoat will get lots of use. He will also need a good rubdown after each outing b/c he has skin reactions which the rain intensifies. I'll be exhausted by Sun night, I'm sure. But no complaints b/c I'm happy to have him. I know my time with him is limited as they will be moving out of the city at the end of the year.

I started reading Morning Star, the 3rd book in the trilogy by Pearce Brown. I think I'll be out on the deck at the trailer reading all afternoon and Beckham can enjoy the sunshine, lying out on the patio stones (his fave thing to do out there).

Chris - too bad the weather was screwy but sounds like you had a wonderful time anyway. Glad to hear your pup looks a bit healthier. Can't wait to see the pics and how great to have thought of a Xmas gift for your mom already.

Trudy - looks like a good day for yard work, sunshine and a warm breeze. Hope your sister appreciates all the hard work you do for her.

Nancy - too funny that you had to have a "talk" with your son...it never ends does it? LOL. I'll check out that book you recommended. If it's available for my e-reader I'll request it at our library.

Felis - you are so compassionate to care for all the animals! You house must be so much fun to visit with all of them. I work part or full time hours but get to work at home so that is just perfect for Taz and any other animals we have here. I love being home to spend time with Taz and others that come occasionally. Don't worry about your English, we understand you just fine :)

Gotta go now. Back to work for a bit and then off to run errands before leaving this afternoon. Have a great day, everyone.
