Sunshine Day 2. Thank goodness! I love it. It hit 70* yesterday and looks like it is going to be the same today.

I basically had a same old same old day yesterday but at least I was able to spend some of it outside. The grass was too loo wet for me to do much yard work but I did a little. Scooped the lawn so Gary could mow it. And then.... drum roll.........
Moe is back!!
I'm not sure if you can see it or not but I shared the video of our lawn. Moe got another victim. People gotta learn to stay off of our lawn :D

I went for a walk with my friend and as we went past my house, Gary was mowing the grass and we cheered him on. By the time we got back home, Moe was finishing up. It's officially Halloween!! woo !! Debbie was laughing, she knew there was no way Gary was going not decorate.

Caitlyn and I are off to my parents' today, we are going to the firehouse with my dad to see what supplies we need to bring for the party (next week! ahhh! It's next week!! ). Then tonight we are going next door to have the annual pizza and drinks with the next-door neighbors. My weaponry neighbor and the one across the street will also be there so it's like a tiny block party. Always a good time.

I need to get my day rolling-- xoxoxo

Quick personals:

@LSlycord How did everything go yesterday? I hope Shaun is not in any pain or discomfort.
Yup, Medicare and SS are not as good as ya think it is. One nice thing is that I heard this year, SS payments are increasing and Medicare premiums are decreasing. Typically, the SS increase doesn't cover/barely covers the premium increase so this is a first!

I am with you on insulin prices!! Don't get me started--- how long would you live w/oo insulin? Not long at all, Gary figures maybe a few days, a week tops- yet $130 a bottle!! WITH insurance. And he needs 3-4 bottles a month GGGGGRRRRRRR
Whoops. *slaps hands over mouth so I am unable to type-yell*

@BrightEyes That is fantastic that you don't need prior approval for the tests! Yikes, that's such a long wait for the specialist but not all that surprising.
Another Go me moment yesterday- I made my mammo appt and was so relieved that I didn't need a referral or an Rx, I knew I was getting ready to bail on the appt (Bad Faery!!!). But I was able to schedule online without having to round up all of the referrals etc so I didn't have any excuse.
Did you figure out what was going on with the printer/computer?

@Cherylndesigns I need a picture of Daisy waiting for Lila!
The necklaces sound really cool, I need pics of them too

Hugs!!

Good morning!! Another beautiful morning here. I love this weather. Spent most of yesterday inside because of Shaun's surgery which went perfectly! He was back in pre-op for awhile but they let him take his phone so that was good. He was able to text us and send pictures. Then, after the surgery, we talked to the doctor and he said everything was great. They were able to aspirate the cyst and found nothing else. Shaun needs 3 or 4 days of antibiotics and can't lift anything for a few weeks but it really worked out great. He is taking the weekend off of work because sometimes the dogs can get rambunctious but he is heading to school this morning. I am so, so optimistic that this will fix everything. And, if not, he now has a very good specialist.

Sydney called last night. The school has today off because it is homecoming weekend. So some of her friends are coming up to St. Augustine to go to the beach and she said that she might just drive herself so she can come over home and spend the night. She has tickets to the football game tomorrow at noon so I'm not sure whether she really has time to stay home tonight. I'm just rolling with whatever she wants to do.

Need to go back to the AT&T store to talk about Shaun's phone. And need to go to the Publix pharmacy to talk about my new drug plan. It really is a good thing that I have taken this break from work. No way would I have had time for everything going on while working.;)

@faerywings how fun that you and Cait get to check out the firehouse...that firehouse is becoming part of your routine! LOL (Love all of the new emojis but I really, really want a LOL emoji. I'd use that even more than I would the ;).) I'm so glad that she has the grapevine news about the interview! And, of course Gary decorated...how could he not? Love that baby picture of Scott! And, yes, I honestly believe that the cost of insulin is criminal. This time, I'm not even exaggerating. I think that there needs to be some type of cap on how long they can charge exorbitant prices on drugs. The R&D for insulin has been paid for many, many times over!

@BrightEyes I'm so glad that you didn't need to wait for the referral. I do wish that they would make the rules so that they weren't so complicated. Love that you have another red hat meeting coming up.

@Cherylndesigns I know what you mean about missing posts. Chris has the best method of all. She is so completely on top of it. Every.single.day...

Good Morning to all! (or afternoon depending on when you are reading)
I didn't even get on here til late yesterday. Out all day and when I first tried to get on the page wouldn't load. I thought the maintenance might be happening. But it must have been my internet connection. Who knows!

Yesterday started off at my BFFs house. She fixed us breakfast.....bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. Get this, at 82 she adds hot sauce and mayo to hers! OY VEY! And she has ALL of her teeth, and I don't mean false ones, either! She amazes me! And her metabolism is through the roof! She is ALWAYS ready to eat! If I ate like her I would be "as big as the broad side of a red barn!" (I can hear my dad saying that, lol!)

Anyway, she was working on one of her wine cakes to take to her high school reunion later today, so we chit chatted until that came out of the oven. And then we played Rummikub until she had to leave around 1 to go to her daughter's house. They had some stuff to do before Ilene got her hair done for her trip. I headed home. Except I decided I wanted to go to the thrift store and look for some jeans. I found a pair of Levi's for $1, a turtleneck for $1, a pair of Levi capris for $1! You can't beat that! That's what I call a TRUE thrift shop! Goodwill has priced themselves out of my business!

When I got home I found a letter from my last living paternal Aunt who turned 80 this year. She was only 13 when I was born! And I have one living paternal Uncle who turned 90 this year. He has cancer and has to have dialysis 3 times a week, so I don't expect him to live much longer. But who knows! I called my Aunt instead of answering her letter (she gave me permission.....long story short, she is a bit weird and set in her ways). But it was so nice to talk to her again! She has even gave me permission to come for a visit.....as long as I'm not sick, lol!

When Mark got home from work he took some of the chicken stew with him to the pits and started a fire and cooked his soup and worked on the cabin and etc. I worked on the computer and got a couple of challenge layouts done. He is leaving work early today to take me to lunch wherever I want to go since tomorrow is my birthday. I turn 67! I don't feel that old at all, until I try to get up after sitting in this chair for awhile! ;) Tomorrow is the actual day and we are going to roast hot dogs at the pits. We have invited some of the family, but very few are able to come. I'm OK with that! I'm just praying after I cook the beans and the hot dog chili that I will actually be able to eat!

The weather is beautiful here today and it was yesterday, too! We still have tons of green and ripe tomatoes on the vines and even more blooms! I am amazed! Last year I pruned and plucked those vines and got nothing! This year I did nothing to them and got a ton! Works for me! Mark has been eating them out the ying yang.....so much so that his potassium was too high when he went for his diabetes appointment last week! Poor guy can't win for losing! He tries to eat more veggies because of his sugar and ends up with his potassium too high! I told him I'm in a quandary of what to fix for him to eat! He said, "I'm in a quandary of what to eat! He is going to talk to the doctor at his followup appointment to see if some of the meds he is on might be causing his potassium to be high. I sure hope that is the case and they can make some sort of adjustment!

Well, I need to get off of here and get dressed. Mark is leaving in a few minutes from work and I'm not even showered or dressed!

Have a GREAT TGIF!!

Morning, all. Another cloudy day with rain in the forecast... but the balloons are flying this morning!!! Actually have one flying near our neighborhood! Managed to get a photo of it. The main group of balloons are drifting north and not coming this way. Only 2 more days before the festival ends on Sunday.

Got my errands ran yesterday. I bought 2 tee tops at Kohls then over to Best Buy and bought the blood pressure monitor and over to the library to return books and get a couple more. It was starting to rain by then so headed home. Checked the readings on both the old and new monitor and the old one was about 6 points off from the new one so it is good that I got the new one.

Ended up just relaxing and reading in the afternoon. I should get busy on the DVD inventory today so I can get the new ones put in the office. No, I haven't messed with the printer - and my computer yet. Will see if the laptop can access the printer first. If that works, I will know it is just my computer with a problem.

@faerywings I was sure that Gary would have to fix MOE and put the Halloween decoration out! LOL... what a hoot it is this year. Enjoy your get-together with the friends in the neighborhood. Yep, not long until the engagement party!

@vickyday HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Enjoy your lunch out with Mark. LOL over your abundance of tomatoes as you left them alone to do their thing this year. I am the same way about the abundance of plums from my tree this year. It might be due to the early heat and more rain. Hope the cookout at the pits goes okay and that your tummy allows you eat some of the dishes you are fixing this time.

@LSlycord Glad to hear Shaun came through his procedure okay. Yes, I agree, it is good that you are not working right now with everything that has been going on in your life.

@Cherylndesigns saw some of your LOs over on FB... fabulous.

I am doing a happy dance... I finished the DVD inventory on the laptop and was able to print it remotely!!! I am now on my OLD computer and was able to print remotely from it!!! So looks like I need to uninstall the printer from DH's computer and reinstall the driver on that computer only. Decided I would switch the external HD over to the old computer and use that computer to scan in the photos. The main reason is the old computer has the Windows Fax and Scanner software already installed on it. Won't start working on the photos for at least another couple of weeks.

Good afternoon - well, it will be by the time I'm finished. It's 11:53 here.

Chris @faerywings I can't believe it's almost time for another party! Seems like so long ago that you and Cait were planning this one. Time flies, scarily, doesn't it??? I agree about the firehouse becoming part of your story. It's part of mine, too, as you know - my grandfather was a fire tighter, and I spent many years hanging out there with him. I can still remember how it smelled. (I know, I'm weird.) Have a super fun evening with your friends and I'm anxious to see Gary's Halloween decorations. I'll try to take a picture of Daisy watching for Lila and I'm planning to take pictures of my necklaces today. They're very long and I need to figure out how to photograph them. The girls love them and couldn't believe I made them.

Vicky @vickyday Happy Birthday! Have a wonderful birthday lunch and your meals by the fire sound so wonderful!

Linda @LSlycord I'm so happy that Shaun's procedure went so well and that the doctor thinks he fixed his problem. Going to work doesn't sound safe - not with the jumping dogs. Probably wise to stay away from there for a few days. I thought about you and Shaun yesterday and was happy to see updates on FB.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who misses past posts on here. DOH. I know I could go back, and play catch up, but I'm doing good to do what I do. BWAHAHA Yes, Chris @faerywings is the "queen" - that's why she's our Fearless Leader, right? I almost always catch it on the back side. LOL

Kay @BrightEyes thanks so much for your comments on my pages on FB. I'm happy that your authorizations went through for your testing. Medicare is like this maze that you just keep having to run through and they keep changing the "paths". Kind of like one of those old video games. LOL

No plans today - I'm sure something will crop up. It always does - I do need to do some work outside but that's about all, I also need to do some "clutter control" too. Whenever I do get busy with any kind of project (i.e. Making necklaces) I sure make a mess and let everything else go. I'm not a very neat crafter. Hahaha

Hugs to all and Happy Friday.

Thanksgiving long weekend here. Hubby, the "I have to have turkey and mashed potatoes guy" surprised me by saying he thought a roast beef and roast potatoes would be better this year. I was so shocked I just stared at him. His reasoning was that it would take the stress off me so that I could enjoy he company and be able to get out of the kitchen. His intensions are so sweet. We will see if his theory is right. ha ha
