So yeah. It's Friday. That's a good thing, right?
I think it is.

Professional Worrier Faery is ready to report for duty. *salutes*
My day started fine. Then I got slammed with two bits of news that threw me for a loop.

I called my parents and my dad gave me the details of what was up with his health. The urologist is testing him for bladder cancer. It wasn't urea in the blood, he had blood in his urine. The CT scan was looking to see where anything bad is located in the bladder. He goes in for a biopsy as soon as it's scheduled. The Dr said that radiation therapy for prostate cancer could increase the risk of bladder cancer. I am hoping that since he sees the urologist regularly (not sure if it is every 6 months or 12, but I think it is 6), it's been caught early-- if that is what the biopsy shows.
That's all I know about it. I did a very quick search just to see what bladder cancer entails but didn't dwell too much. I am trying not to get ahead of myself so I stopped. I hope I can stay strong with that, but you know me, a professional worrier. I need to ask WWC(Cheryl)D? and then try the opposite LOL (Just teasing Cheryl!)

Right after that, I got the notice that I am no longer eligible for state-funded health insurance. I knew that was going to happen, but my plan will terminated at the end of this month. There won't be enough time to get an appt for a physical. I am all caught up with my Rxs so there is at least that. I looked to see what new plans I can get through the NJ Marketplace and I think I found one that I can afford the premiums. But when I tried to register for an account, I needed an access code. Which--naturally- I don't have. Naturally. How do I get an access code? Not. A. Clue.

Thankfully, I was able to put that aside when the 4 of us had dinner and decorated. At one point, the kids were fake fighting and yelling at each other. I looked at Gary and asked, "Is this really what we are missing?" hahaha!

My plan for today is to hike. Not sure if Gary will be up to come with me. Not sure if I need to be alone. I want to get some of the outside decorations up too. I have little spider lights to hang but I need to be careful to not bother the real spiders who have some very impressive webs on the patio.

HAGD!

@vickyday Scott and Sam are enjoying the house. The only "bad" thing is that the furnace isn't working. OTOH, the good news is that they don't have to pay to have it fixed. They have a wood stove if it gets too cold while they wait for the parts/repair to be complete.
I swear, the dogs know when I can't pay full attention. I can totally see Asher moping about LOL!
How is the EHD project going?

@Cherylndesigns How fun for you and Adrienne to get your nails all purtied up. Grammarly says that purtied is not a word but I think it is. So there. Just like gorgeouses.

@LSlycord Good luck today! *sending good thoughts and deep breaths* It's no wonder that you are anxious, it's a big deal. But you have a fantastic team of Drs and your faith. Two very big things on your side. Plus all of us! :hug4:

Hugs to Shaun and to Syd. It's a lot on your plate right now. I wish I could help. Too bad that tornado didn't pick me-- the Wicked Witch of West Milford- and drop me at your house. Not *under* just next door ♥
Glad that you were safe.

Morning, all. Just got through uploading the Autumn Comfort by Erin LO. Oh, I do love the characters in it... so delightful and whimsical! I was up late last night (11 PM) scrapping the LO. Sometimes a collection just grabs hold and I need to work on it RIGHT NOW! Love it when the Creative Mojo jumps up and takes hold. Well worth staying up late to do it.

Yesterday I ended up binging on Netflix "The Movies That Made Us" then on "The Crown". I have "The Chosen" on my list to watch. It was an unusual day as I couldn't seem to get into reading like usual, so I became a couch potato in the afternoon. I had spent the morning looking through photo albums to see which photos I had missed scanning onto the EHD. I am on a mission to get the craft table cleared off. It is covered with albums and boxes of photos. This all started with working on "My Story" series of kits by Karen Schulz when I dug out my mom's photos then became even more pressing when I got my aunt's photos. And then pulled out the boxes of our family photos... and .... and... and... like Topsey - the stacks grew and grew until some ended up on the floor beside the table. It is so bad that I have been keeping the door to the craft room closed all the time. The time has come to clean the table off and put them away. :sweeping2::takingouttrash:

Just looked at the date and realized it is Friday - the 13th! Good thing I am not superstitious....
And tomorrow - Sat the 14th is the solar eclipse! My state is one where it will be very visible. But I am not planning on trying to view it outside. May watch it on TV... much safer on the eyes.

@faerywings So sorry to hear the news about your dad. Thoughts and prayers that they get treatments for it started right away.
And to lose your health care coverage... hope you can get the access code soon and get another plan ASAP!!! Glad you had a 'family dinner' with the kids (play-acting) like normal! LOL

@LSlycord You have a lot going on now - so no wonder you are a bit nervous. You have a great team of doctors/health care people - they will give you the best care possible. Sorry about Shaun's health problems occurring again.

@Cherylndesigns I saw your Autumn Comfort LO this morning... Love it!!

I love yours too, Kay! You really kicked off that prerelease thread - gorgeous!!

I managed to get pictures of the last solar eclipse when we lived in Florida. I read about how to do it and just put my camera up, but didn't look at the sun. I got some really interesting pictures. I should scrap them now that we're having another one.

Yes, today is Friday the 13th. I'm not real superstitious either.

Good morning Lovelies,

Chris - WWCD then do the opposite - I'm glad I didn't have a drink of tea in my mouth. :floorlaugh::lol23::giggle4: That's a good one. I think purty should be in the dictionary, and gorgeousness - why not?

Bad news about your health insurance, but hopefully if you can figure out how to get that code, you can get something affordable. That's scary news about your dad, too. Do they think the former radiation might have triggered this?

Linda @LSlycord my thoughts are with you today and I hope everything goes smoothly. Like Chris said, we're all here for you. :grouphugyay:

Kay @BrightEyes I answered you first - don't ask me why. We LOVED The Crown! We hated to see it end. I could watch it over again. I agree with you about the mojo kicking in - it's a beautiful thing.

Nothing planned today, but Adrienne, Ava and I are going to a class tomorrow where we are going to plant succulents in a pumpkin for an outside decoration. I don't know the deets, but I wish the pumpkin wasn't real. Oh well, I can move the succulents inside, I guess. Braden is also coming home this weekend, so we'll have a party for him. His birthday was the 10th, so we'll celebrate that.

Hope everybody has a great Friday the 13th - don't walk under ladders or let a black cat walk in front of you and be careful if you try to watch the eclipse.
XOXO
