It's HERE!!!!!!!
2024 - 12 DAYS OF DECEMBER EVENT
Did you see, the forum is here!
Not even a chance to catch my breath after yesterday's festivities but I am ready to party for the next two weeks here.
How was your Thanksgiving or regular ol' Thursday? My day was wonderful. It went off without a hitch, until around 8.30 when I was attempting to semi-politely shove the old folks out the door. My parents and my ILs would not leave Hahahah!!! It takes my mom a looooong time to say goodbye on a good day and for some reason, it was worse than usual. Even after she walked out the door, she was still saying goodbye and "one more thing" to whoever was outside with her.
We had so much food and desserts and the family is awesome. Best little moment-- Scott and I were in the kitchen and I said something like, I am so glad that your family (meaning Sam's side) was here. He said, "They are your family now too." My heart *melted* and he is right. He and Sam might not have any plans to get married at present but they are together for the long haul. I couldn't be more thrilled. All of the cooking and cleaning and stress over preparations. (and the aches and pains that resulted from that LOL) ... That one sentence that Scott spoke snapped everything into place. I already thought of them as family but I dunno-- this made it feel "solid."
So today. *sighs...* Cleaning up and packing stuff away. Laundry. Then I need to get ready for the party here at the O and the new month of regular Cheery O stuff. I am debating whether I should dust off an old holiday avatar or make a new one. I have to revise the lesson for Tuesday and I am working a HS Field Trip on Friday. One of the boys in the first Fall session is part of a HS Pod and his whole Pod is coming for regular Field Trips. The first one is next Friday so that has to be prepped.
I'd love to do nothing today but nope, not happening. At least I don't have to cook tonight
I don't have to cook tomorrow either. Caitlyn and I are going to Sophia's (Sam's niece) first b-day party. I sent a ton of yesterday's leftovers back with Sam's family to bring to the party and I'll probably make corn casserole with the leftover corn to bring too. I can do that tomorrow morning at least.
Who needs more
Sit down @AK_Tracy -- I already have a mug filled for you ♥
Hugs to you all!
