I have just a quick minute to post this before I head out to the mall to go Black Friday Shopping!

:behindsofa:

JK!!! I have never been out shopping on Black Friday, haven't been to a mall in over a year and definitely would never do that in the midst of a pandemic. But I am betting that you all knew I was busting on ya.
Did everyone have a nice day?
We ate so much food and laughed our butts off. I give so much credit to everyone who has thanksgiving dinner every year. Even with only having to reheat the sides along with my few things I was cooking, trying to time everything to be hot at the same time wasn't easy. Gary's mom's stuffing wasn't hot enough and the mashed potatoes were done so I had to ask him if he wanted hot stuffing and cold potatoes or the other way around. But it worked out perfectly. I dumped the potatoes back on the stove with the heat on low and everything came out perfectly.
Caitlyn printed out some Thanksgiving Madlibs and then we played a killer game of Pictionary afterward. (Gary and I kicked their butts again!)

I cleaned up as much as I could as I cooked so there isn't too much that needs to be done in the kitchen other than wash the wine glasses and put away the dishes. But first I am having apple pie for b-fast. I can't wait!

Hoping that everyone had a nice, relaxing day yesterday and has plenty of leftovers so you don't have to cook today.

Trudy- Glad to hear that the weather wasn't too dark yesterday, will you get to see the sun today? The weather here turned out to be quite nice, the temps were above normal here and I was able to get out for a quick walk with my friend. My mom said that they were able to spend a lot of time on my brother's deck too.
The dreams must be so unsettling. Mine have gotten better for the most part so I hope yours will be soon as well. It is sweet to hear that you and your sister had a nice visit.

Nancy- ITA, very smart to keep your bubble small especially with travelers coming in. Have a fun time when your DS and family come to help decorate. Any idea when DS is going to propose? It is so exciting!! It seems like the weather is going to be warm-ish again today so I know where you and Luther will be ;)

Kay- How was the pie?? I decided to have pumpkin pie for my dessert last night, it was store baked and actually pretty darn good! Everyone else had my MILs apple pie, but as I said, that is my b-fast!
The year that my china broke -- I was sad and anxious over everything. PPD is devastating and I still have so much guilt about how I little I bonded with Caitlyn as a baby. It obviously didn't have any lasting impact, however. Thank goodness!!! Stay warm today.
PS: Love the saying on the avatar!

Jean- your avi is making me smile too. Here is to the holiday season being a happy one:tea:

Brrrr...rrrr...rrr!!! It is freezing outside... with high wind warnings plus possibility of rain/sleet/snow late this afternoon. Definitely a day to stay indoors and bundle under a warm fuzzy throw and have a hot drink. Will be switching over from coffee [this morning] to hot tea [this afternoon].

I am loving all the fun meme Avatars that are popping up today! Great way to kick-start the Christmas fun here at OScraps. And the Black Friday sales... who can resist popping a few things into the cart???

Can't believe it... my computer came on in the wee hours of the morning. Forgot that I had set the Windows 10 update for then. Took a long time for the updates to install and then do a 'cleaning up' this morning. Almost afraid to say anything but nearly all of my log-ins were there afterward!!!! Hoping that resolved most of the problems I have been having with the computer.

Chris, the pumpkin pie was so delicious. Perfect ending for the turkey dinner I had. I froze several slices so can enjoy them over the next week or so.

Morning O-zies! I hope you all had a great Thanks giving! The fun has started here at the O and I hope to get going on some scrapping today. I will go swimming today and then pick up my grocery order. Yesterday I managed to find a beautiful sweater to give to Heather along with some oh so soft and fuzzy socks. She will love them I am sure. Now one more gift for Jonah and I am done with her family. A bit more shopping around for DS and family and then the hardest one to buy for is my DH. What on earth will I give him?? He never drops any hints as to what he would like ever :mmph: Still working on putting all the birthdays and holidays on my Calendars, it is taking way to long, but I will get it done. At least the worry of having it done to mail out in time for Christmas is not there as I will send them out to be printed at their local Staples. Yesterday other than going to Winners I can't really remember LOL everything is a blur. Oh yes I mailed the sympathy cards and now I need to buy more stamps  why did I not get them while I was out yesterday?? Oh and our poor little Hunter had to have dental surgery yesterday, his poor little teeth are not good and he needed to have some caps put on them. I have noticed that when he eats and drinks he keeps it in his mouth for quite a while, so I am sure that has not helped with his oral care. He had to have a covid test of course before having the surgery done and he was a real tropper!! The nurse told him she had to get a big booger out of his nose and he was fine with that LOL. Gotta love that little man!! Heather sent pictures so I will have to do a page soon!

Chris - It makes me so happy that you had such a fun Thanksgiving!! WTG on you and Gary kicking butt in the Pictionary game! I almost spit out my coffee when you said you heading out to go Black Friday Shopping in the Mall :pound: glad to hear that your dreams are not so disturbing anymore, mine are just weird and seem to occur almost every night :mmph: No sun for us today, just more :rain: but thats ok I only have to go swimming and to pick up my grocery order. I will be wet anyway right?? Enjoy your Apple Pie for breakfast! :hungry:

Kay - does not sound like a very nice day at your house today! Yes the Avatars that are showing up already are funtastic! Happy to hear that your update on your computer did not give you any grief!! Sounds like your Thanksgiving meal was so delicious! Nice that you will have the pie for future meals!

Nancy - Who better to spend the Thanksgiving Day with than your Main Squeeze! How nice that you will have help putting up the tree and hooray for more Turkey!! You and Luther are having some great walks! That is awesome!

Jean - Loving your new Avatar!! That is too bad that there was no Football for Turkey Day, but I bet your day was still pretty great!

Ok I am off to get the morning chores done and then should check out what is happening at the O today! Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. So excited for the 12 days of Xmas fun here. I need some laughter right now. Our good friend (and my daughter's FIL) is not doing well and they expect the worst over the next 3-4 days. They are not expecting him to make it. We are trying to stay calm and push it to the back of our minds b/c there is nothing we can do, we can't even see the family and hug them right now. I can't believe I can't see our friend Bonnie and help her, hug her, be there to hold her up. She will be devastated by the loss of her husband of over 40 yrs. So enough about that, I'm not going to talk anymore about it, don't want to dwell on something I can't control or change. So, for now I am going to concentrate on scrappy stuff and work.

J went to work for BF and will be exhausted when she gets home. She was promoted to store supervisor but they want her on the floor selling today b/c she is the best they have. In lieu of that, they gave her 3 days off next week so she will have lots of time to adjust to her new braces she is getting. I'm going to make a comfort meal for dinner that the family loves. It is a mishmash of foods - crumbled hamburger, peppers, potatoes, beans, veggie mix, cheese, cauli rice and white rice...all mixed together and topped with salsa and sour cream. I can eat this (minus the hamburger).

Had fun finding a new avatar for the xmas event here and it will make me smile everytime I see it.

Got my car fixed (needed new battery) so hopefully will get out to get a few gifts soon but this yr we agree, we won't buy much, don't really feel like doing much gift giving aside from B's stuff and a few things for each other. Looks like my work schedule is pretty light for December so I am looking forward to things slowing down for the last few wks before the new year. Heard on the news they might be releasing a few different vaccines early in the new year. Not sure how long before the general public will get it but I'm happy to hear things are starting to look good for 2021.

I'd better get to work.

Hello everybody.

LOL Chris - I have never been Black Friday shopping, either, except on my computer. My family has gone for years, but I wave goodbye to them and tell them not to wake me up when they get home in the middle of the night.

I need to change my avi - will work on that today.

Hope everybody had a good Thanksgiving, no matter how you celebrated it.

Like the rest of you, I've never done the in-store Black Friday but I do it online and today is no different. Also, this afternoon I took two of my "mental landscapes" to the art place where I had the wonderful mixed media collage workshop in early March. As a member there I can have work in their holiday market. This year it will be digital, but they need the pieces to photograph. Too bad there is a size limit on framed work so that I could only take small older ones. Doubt they'll sell, but it will still be fun having them online. That put us on a road straight to a birding spot on the lake. So we got to do a little birding too. The lake is super calm, so not much happening, but still a bit. It was so good to be out and about but not in contact with others except as seen through the car windows.

Thinking for things to be thankful for see above plus
the poinsettia continues to turn red and we'll bring it downstairs maybe Dec. 1

Chris, I knew that shopping statement was a joke, but it still took a minute. Glad T-day was a fun one. Bet the apple pie for breakfast made it even more special. Yum.

Nancy, sounds like Luther is one happy pup with all the great walks in decent weather. Here it is very gray but visibility was good and not too cold.

Kay, nice to be cozy and warm inside with pumpkin pie to eat. Lovely new avatar. (I'd be one of the nuts for sure.)

Trudy, wonderful you found that sweater and socks that I'm sure Heather will adore (and keep warm in). Getting the calendars printed where your family is - what a splendid idea! Good luck with continued swimming and the rest of the shopping.

Rae, so sorry for your friend and how you can't be a comfort to his wife. Just take care of yourself - and your back and be there for your family. It's all we can do now. That and keep in touch with the creatures in your yard.

Cheryl, hope everything (like the oven) worked for things yesterday. Hope the guys will be out of the deer blinds and hard at work on your house.

Good weekend wishes to all.

Loving all of the cute avatars!

Jean, I'm with you - wish the guys would get out of the blinds and start working on my house!!

Good luck with your art - that sounds like fun! Wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to successfully sell our art???

I'm in a total food coma today. Still - I can't even think straight. :faint:
