Iy yi yi!!!!!!!!! It is soooooo cold!!!! It is 33* and blustery so the wind chills are horrible. This weather makes me miserable. I hurt all over and I hate the feeling of not being able to warm up at all. Was it really 70* just one week ago?

I hope that I am not cranky the entire day. I didn't sleep well last night. Kibs was such a pain. She wouldn't let me sleep with all of the whacking at my face with her paws -- and claws. She needs her nails clipped and she fights me on a good day with that. With Whisky being around, I haven't even attempted it.

So:
It's cold- Check
I am exhausted- Check
I hurt- Check.
And I have to go to a restaurant tonight for my dad's birthday when I would rather stay at home in my pjs.
But, I am grateful that my family will be together to celebrate my dad turning 79 today. I can only hope that I am as alert and as active at that age as he is. Hell, I would take that now at 49

You know you are in a scrapping rut when it takes you an hour and a half to make a birthday card for your SIL and you don't even like it. That was my morning yesterday. Then I cleaned, blew my hair out straight, and made dinner which forever. That means I have a lot more to do today before we leave later on.
(Can I complain about how I hate driving in the dark too?)

At least I don't have to cook dinner-- see -- there is my bright side!

Have a fantastic Friday, hope that you are all warm and cozy where you are!

Thank you all for enjoying Cait's play. That girl, she is so kooky. Where does she get that from? She is all mine. LOL

Nancy- a few degrees here or there won't make any difference in how it feels outside in NJ. I am sure that you will be very happy to know that Luther will get all of his exercise today and you won't have to take him on long walks. Did he do ok at the vet? At least he got to run a bit at the park even if he didn't get to swim hah!!

Rae- Were you able to talk to your GP and have him be ok about your solution for the cholesterol meds? Gary is in the same spot. His endocrinologist said that diabetics should be on statins no matter what their Cholesterol numbers are, that cholesterol and blood sugar bind together like cement. He doesn't want to take them but that info was something that we didn't know before so I am not sure where that is going to end up. You are being proactive so that is a plus.
Glad to hear that you are sleeping better!

Felis- it is hard to stay quiet sometimes with family, isn't it? For me, I have a hard time staying quiet about how my brother parents on occasion. Our circumstances were very different when I had my kids-- I was a stay at home mom, with 2 kids two years apart and very limited finances, although Gary was working FT at that point. My nephew is adopted, an only child and my brother and SIL have very high paying jobs. This kid wants for nothing but also gets away with stuff my kids wouldn't dream of. Temper tantrums in public, talking fresh to me, those things did not fly with me. When I see him doing that to my brother, I have to bite my tongue so I don't yell at him to be a parent and put his foot down. But I try to support him, just as you do even when it isn't easy.
Caitlyn wants to be a preschool teacher but she is a very good writer. She will probably end up writing school plays some day. :D
Candle melts... do you mean like wax tarts to put in a burner? I do make them! I use an eco-friendly soy-based wax too.

Trudy!!! How amazing!!!!!! July is going to be amazing for you and the family!! Paris!! Just wow!! Can your son adopt me?
I forgot that everyone was coming to you for Christmas so no shipping needed.
Did everyone survive the MIL Health Summit? Hope so!

Jean- you have been busy, but with so many enjoyable things. I heard that it was snowing up the mountain in my town but nothing by me thank goodness. Did you end up getting any? Caitlyn loved your comment of Delightful Nonsense. I told her that should be her rap name :pound:

Hugs!!!!

good morning - the wind is whipping and the temperature continues to go down. I went to bed and it was in the 50s and now it is in the 30s. They say the wind chill will be in the single digits tomorrow. Luther is off to doggie day care and my DH says that there were 3 shepherds besides Luther and then as my DH was leaving another shepherd showed up. He will be so happy! My poor Devils lost again this time in OT with 16 sec to go before the Shoot out. The Devils had a lead and the Oilers just kept tying. The last time they played the Oilers won 6-3 so this was a much better game. We got one of our injured players back so that was great! They play again on Sat night so they have another chance for a win. Sorry for the confusion with Luther. I just needed to pick up his heart and flea and tick meds so I took him with me. He is doing really well.

Chris sorry you are checking off all those boxes. Sorry the scrapping is slow. But at least you have that kooky Cait and those animals to make you smile. Congrats to you dad on his 79th birthday! Have fun and maybe there will be leftovers so you won't have to cook tomorrow either. Dress warm!

Felis your walk sounds amazing even if you could only be supportive. Sunny and chilly makes for a fun walk.

Trudy congrats on going to Paris. You will have such a great time. That is so special of your son! I am so happy for you. And yes you should go to the Normandy beaches. It is so meaningful. And then when you get back and see all the sites that use Paris you can remember I was there! I know my sister and I do that all the time. Glad you are getting your Christmas gifts done so soon. Wait until the last minute and that one gift could be sold out.

Rae hope the visit to the GP went well. They should be willing to listen to their patients. And now a days we do have a lot more info at our hands that I don't think was available so we had to rely on doctors. I am not sure that doctors like to have themselves questioned LOL. Glad work has slowed a bit.

Jean your lunch sounds so fun since it made you late LOL. How fun to have all that new info on your German relatives.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... foggy and misty here today with milder more normal temps thank goodness! I had a bad sleep last night night, tossed and turned and finally fell back to sleep after DH got up to go to work. Then I slept like the dead until 8am. However I am dragging my butt this morning. Oh well another day of trying to get my calendar finished off and attempting to get some other scrapping done today :mmph: I wonder if it will happen?? Same old, same old LOL.

Chris - I hope that your temps warm up soon, I totally can relate to the way you feel about the colder weather. How nice that you get to have a get together for your Dad's birthday! Have a wonderful time and say Happy Birthday to him from all of us here! I am in the same rut as you are with my scrapping too. Hopefully the fog will lift from my brain and I will get some creative juices flowing again.

Nancy - Brrr! cold for you too! I saw that your Devils had another loss last night, but hopefully they will win the next game! (unless they play the bruins LOL) I don't know about you but I hate it when they go into a shoot out. I always feel so bad for the goalies, so much pressure put on them! I had to laugh at my son, he is so excited to be doing this trip with us, especially because his Dad is going to be doing the beaches with him and they will talk non stop about it! He phones everyday wondering what else we should try to squeeze into our short time in France. Nice that we have so long to plan out this vacation! Yes I am already having a hard time trying to find certain items for Christmas gifts. Of course one gift for the kids is the fingerlings monkeys and so far I am having a terrible time finding any, they are already sold out. :mmph:

Rae - Hope that your appt with your Dr. went well!

Jean - So nice to busy with things that you love to do! MIL discussion was not too bad, we tried to convince SIL that she can only be there if she is needed and if they don't want her help just yet, then that's ok, they will call when the time is right! For some reason she thinks that we should just go there and take over?? Not a good idea! Oh the family drama LOL!!

Felis - :hello: I hope that your day has gone well!

Ok I better hit the shower and get on with my day! I also need to think of something good for supper tonight, a crock pot meal might be just the thing for such a foggy day! Have a great friday ladies!

Good morning, ladies. Spent the last hour doing laundry and de-fuzzing a blanket and a sweater(love my new rechargeable clothing de-fuzzer). Now I'm ready to start work. The doctor surprised me, we spent about 45 minutes chatting about cholesterol, keto and paleo diets. He suggested I not take any medications right now (WTH??? I thought for sure he would insist) which shocked me. He left it up to me whether to stay keto or paleo (more carbs than keto but still low carb and different food restrictions but other things added in). I had been researching paleo and was leaning in that direction anyway now that I am at goal and want to maintain. Paleo is geared a little more toward healing, promoting good gut health and is a bit more anti-inflammatory healing than keto. It'll be interesting to see how I feel about eating little or no cheese (I think parmesan is ok). But I will be thrilled to eat more veggies and some fruit. I'll give it 30 days and see how I do, if my weight maintains and my cravings stay away. So in the next couple of days my body should be switching over from burning fat for energy back to glucose burning while remaining low carb and not eating any inflammatory type foods (such as dairy). I got a coconut based yogurt and low carb jam and had a tsp of it last night to try it out. It was like heaven after so many months not having yogurt or jam. I got Silk coconut coffee creamer and don't mind it. I've never gone without dairy before so it'll be interesting to see how it effects me. Also, paleo is mostly veggie/fruit based with smaller portions of meat and fat than keto while remaining low carb. I'm going to start with about 40 net carbs a day (as opposed to keto 20-25 daily) and then slowly increase it to see if I do ok at about 50/60 a day. It'll be an interesting 30 days while all this transitioning goes on.

Chris - hope your blahs abate throughout the day. How wonderful for your dad to be celebrating 79. Enjoy the family dinner.

Nancy - sounds like Luther is going to have a wonderful day. Speaking of tic meds, I'm so glad Taz gets tic protection meds. He had a tic bite last night we discovered. The tic was off him so either died or filled up on him and then fell off. We don't know. The bullseye rash was bright red and huge. Talked to the vet this morning and chances are the meds will protect him but we'll be watching for any changes in the bite site or behavior. This is the 4th bite for him in the last couple of years.

Trudy - Paris??? OMG....how wonderful!

I'm getting to work now. Jen is coming by in a bit for a visit so need to get some work done first. Looking forward to have 3 days off work (Monday is a holiday) and plan to putter around the house, scrap and watch a ton of PVR shows.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Trudy - looks like we were cross-posting again. Sorry to hear of your terrible sleep. Have you tried a few drops of lavender on your pillow? It is helping me. I'm waking up less often and falling back asleep much faster.

I'm sending you some scrappy mojo....I have lots LOL. My problem was not enough time to play but I sure have wanted to. I'm really looking forward to scrapping this wkend.

It is below freezing and we've had one little burst of snow that didn't quite cover all the leaves now on the ground - yet. With the wind it must be nasty out there. DH canceled his bird survey for this morning actually because of the wind predicted. Anything over 10 mph is not good for a survey as you can't hear the birds and they are keeping down anyway. The man whose company plows our drive had meant to send a contract but didn't. Yesterday he called and came by this morning with it. So now we're good when it really snows. Can't believe it is already Nov. 10th. Yesterday at the medical center there were two crab apple trees with no leaves, fruit and lots of blooms!! Really confused trees but will be freezing now.

Chris, glad Cait liked my description, wasn't sure after I wrote it. But her dialog was delightful. I know you don't like naps, but are you sure you don't need one before the birthday dinner for Dad? Let him know all your Ozzies wish him a happy. Good luck making it through the day.

Nancy, hope the Devils get it back to winning. Luther will certainly think he is a big winner today with all those potential buddies.

Trudy, poor you dragging today. Thinking good thoughts for your calendar and scrapping. Crockpot sounds wonderful for the foggy day.

Rae, what a nice surprise to have a real conversation with the doc. We'll be cheering you on with the trial of paleo. It will sure give you some different meals and not the same old.

Felis, hope your day has gone well.

Exhausting, but good day! So weird but the temperatures are still warm. I think it's 50 on Fahrenheit. So today I was even able to work in my garden. I prepared part of the roses for the winter. But days are so short now, so not enough time for all. They still blooming, but I'm afraid to not suddenly froze. Not much other happened.

Trudy, YAY! It's so EXCITING for the Paris! Someday I'll go to see Musée d'Orsay (it's cooler than the Louvre) ! I'm so happy for you! And it's even better because you'll be with your family! I'm not surprised you have not been able to sleep because of the excitement ;) , but hope today is better!

Chris, Happy Birthday to your dad and SIL! I know exactly what you mean about the card, isn't happen on this way always?! Hope you all have fun diner! Yes, wax tarts is the same like melts, umh, I was hoping I'll can give you new idea :pout: . For Cait, school plays sounds good but I hope on Broadway's screenwriter, why shy to limit her talents, except in cases she don't like this fake shine of the fame. I was miss about the Scott And the Ramapough Reservation, yesterday, sorry, I saw it after that at the others comment. So, do he liked it?
Oh, see, this story for your brother's kid is exactly what, I mean. It's difficult for me to understand it, but I have to accept that this is her decision, I just want to was self-decision not forced by her family.

Nancy, we are the opposite to you and these days the temperature continues to go up, so it's very unusual, but lovely for walks!

Rae, if I'm got it right and ticks are Ixodoidea (latin), wow, I was thought it's too cold for them already?! Bad for the red reaction, but hope it's nothing serious. We use Spot On Solution and this year was safe, but on previous years the weather was made the insects very aggressive. So good that your cholesterol doctor is compliant! I know you like keto, but to try something new will be great supplement for your youtube chanel. And hope is nice experience too!

Jean, the time with your friends sounds very fun! Oh, bad that your husband is been forced to cancel the bird survey! I guess is time for cozy and warm indoor activities. At least you have your German church records, to keep you intrigued! Yes the cats are already inside. We don't have snow yet, but I prefer to keep them indoors. And we already started to to heats up at night. I will not prepare any of them for adoption before the spring. So the next few months will be peaceful and joy. Only the big dog live in dog house, except in the snowy nights, because he is very strange. Have something like claustrophobia. We don't know about his life before the adoption, but here is normal dogs to stay at yard in dog houses, so probably he was learned at this lay. I just left him to make what he want.

OK, Good night, my dears! Have a lovely day! And I have to go... sleep.
