The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Is everyone in the US ready for the long holiday weekend? We don't have any real rain for weeks and now, the three-day weekend is going to be nothing but rain. I feel bad for the business down the shore. After a very long year, I bet they were counting off to a good start to this season. I am really happy that I spent so much time outside this past week even if my legs were a bit stiff when I woke up this morning.
Yesterday was a perfect day to be outside, a little cooler than I like in the shade, but clear skies. I am almost done cleaning out all of the oak pollen "strings" from the garden beds. There are a few plants that I think are weeds in the front section by the road. I finally downloaded a plant identification app and will try to get a shot of it this morning before my parents get here.

W threw up on the carpet under the DR table and Gary steam cleaned that area. Since the rug was still wet, he set up the table on the patio so we had dinner outside last night. It was kind of fun!
My parents are coming up with bagels this morning and my kids are excited. I just hope that my parents don't _______.
Anyone want to take a guess what word that is?

Yup. Bicker.
[roll pin] [eyeroll]

I have some Oscraps things to do today and that is about it. And laundry, lots of laundry.

Have fun today!

@tanteva That is blowing my mind about the cost of the dress. I like it when workdays are "medium" too slow and they drag and too fast, I and I get stressed out. When I was 15 and worked in a bakery on weekends and OMG- Sunday mornings about killed me.
How was the dinner? I looooove eggplant. Sounds very good!

@nancyr Happy anniversary! 47 years is incredible *pours champagne for you* I know it is;t the same but a couple of years ago, Scott and Leah were having a really hard time and I was beside myself. I knew there was nothing I could do, but my heart hurt for them both. I felt so helpless too. I bet Livie was so happy to know that you were at the game for her. It sounds like your son is really happy with the new family too. So sweet!!
Kentucky coffee tree? Sounds interesting! I will ask Scott about it today. We were looking at our Japanese maple yesterday. One of Scott's friend's mom gave me a sapling from her tree 15 years or so ago. It was like a foot tall- now it is getting huge.

@Cherylndesigns Hahahaha!! I am chuckling here over your wifi excitement. That is amazing and I am thrilled for you.
I hope that the Lila/Daisy combo calms down a bit, no one needs arms yanked out of sockets! Sam has your number with food and treats, smart boy :)

Kay- hope you are feeling 100% today. That is a very smart idea to stay away from the stores this weekend. They are going to be busy for sure. Are your stores still recommending masks indoors? I am not sure if my supermarket is or not, but I think I might wear it anyway. Not for myself but kind of in solidarity for people who aren't/can't get vaccinated yet. And yes, my plan is to go shopping in person next week. First time since before lockdown.
*fingers crossed for the Win 10 update*
The backup sounds like it is going to be quite a task.

Cheryl- The tree is going to look wonderful!!

Eva- I set my preferences up for no email notifications, sorry I can't help.

Morning everyone. I am up and scraping like mad. . . . Have you seen the FAB FRIDAY sales??? Whoo-whee!! Fantastic - and love the colors. Be still my heart. Can't chat too long this morning as my fingers are itching to get to scrapping with them.

The body is still a bit stiff and sore today so glad it will be an indoor day to give it a bit more time to recover from the yard work. Geeze, you would think I haven't done yard work in awhile... hmmmm.... come to think of it, I haven't!
Chris, I hear you about aching muscles. Sorry that the rain will keep you inside but think you need to rest, too.

Had a nice surprise yesterday afternoon. Got a notice from the public library that the new 'Legend' by Nora Roberts was waiting for me to pick it up. Made a quick trip over before they closed and got it - along with 3 other new release books. Thought the library might be closed today for the holiday but it is not. So I have some books to keep me occupied over the holiday weekend. Just checked and the Senior Citizen Center's library will be opening early next week!!! No appointments needed but limited to 3 people at a time in the room. I have a bunch of books to take back to them. It has been a long 15 months since they were open.

The coffee cup is empty and I have to get busy scrapping. CYL

Chris, some of the stores are still asking that masks be worn but those who are fully vaccinated can go without them. I am erring on the cautious side and will be wearing a mask when I am in stores, etc. Good luck on your venture out to grocery shop. Most of the people here are still keeping social distance and wearing masks.

I am sooo tired today. Have no idea why, slept well, but not too long. And I'm not really sleepy tired either, more like worn out tired, if you understand the difference? Maybe it's a delayed effect from working on Wednesday? Or maybe I just need chocolate. LOL

The fine weather is supposed to FINALLY come to my hoods this weekend. I hope so, I want to go for a walk with hubby tomorrow. Saw that the cows were out now, where we usually take our walks ... and there where calves! *INSERT HEART EYE SMILEY" Me and my camera need to go there! Would be nice if I could get some nice photos.

Downside of starting with digiscrap again: I woke my wanting/needing a new lens for my camera. But I want both a better zoom and a macro ... Haven't dared to start googling lenses. Not in my budget right now, but I'll start saving. I'm having a decent camera (Canon EOS 1100 D with a 18-55 lens), and I can manage well with it ... but we always want more don't we?

It's Friday, but no Träsksoppa today. Today we are eating traditional Swedish Pea Soup. That's a recipe probably older than this country LOL Found a recipe here:

No pork here of course. Served with cheese sandwich and a big spoon of mustard.

Tonight - pop corn, chocolate and TV. We are currently between series, have no idea what we'll watch. Maybe we just watch a movie. I'm knitting on a sweater - or maybe it's more of a top? It seems to work out to be a fabulous one. Nice gradient yarn.

I have a favorite among the FAB Friday releases. Will try and download tomorrow. Only "problem" is I've said to myself, I would try all new designers out first ... but there always has to be exceptions right? A woman has the right to change her mind. As often as she wants! LOL

Good afternoon girlies.

I just came in from doing the rest of my planting on the second side. The ground is perfect - so soft from the rain and digging the holes was a piece of cake. Well, maybe not THAT easy, but pretty easy. LOL I even planted the Flowering Crab tree! Granted, it's not very big, but I was determined to get it in the ground.

We had a pretty bad storm last night but my unplanted plants weathered it just fine. We had stuff blown up on our porch last night, though. Of course, it knocked our wifi/TV out (rolls eyes up until they hit top of eye sockets). Braden called and asked us if ours was out - we think the whole grid was out. It finally came back on.

Kay @BrightEyes that's great that the book you wanted is available! How exciting!

Eva @tanteva there's always a new lens or something, right? Our hobby just makes us "need" more of those things. Hahaha

Chris @faerywings be careful out there. We don't have to wear them very many places out here. probably Walmart still requires them, I haven't been there for a couple of weeks. Chuck wears his - I insist - he has lung problems and I've been paranoid about him coming in contact with it! We've pretty much stayed close to home - safest place to be.

I hope those dogs behave today. We didn't have to keep Lila last night - Ava came and got her, but she's back today. She keeps Daisy company. I do need to go let them out after I rest a bit. I'm having SO much fun working out in my yard! I've really got my gardening on! I used to garden SO much and I'd forgotten how much I missed it. It's hard to garden (when we lived in FL) mainly due to the hoa and our backyard was all concrete - a pool and the rest concrete. I had several big tropical plants in clay pots around the pool, but that was all.

My coffee cup is empty too, so I'm going to go get a refill. Happy Friday!

Kay @BrightEyes Let me know what you think of that Nora Roberts book, ok? I think she is a very uneven author. She can write really good books, and now and then it's just crap. LOL

Have you read the books about Virgin River by Robyn Carr? I really like them. Not sure I've read all of them - she might have written more by now. Think I've read 10 or something like that.
